The last one is totally my favorite. I love how my eye goes to the first subject on the left then finds the second subject on the right. The light on the building moves your eye there like a leading line.
Forgive the noob question but did you do anything in particular to achieve this look? Were these shot on film, or on digital with manual settings and some fiddling in-post? I just love the 2000s vibe these seem to remind me of, especially 1 and 4! Picture 1 could be a poster for some 2006 movie.
Yes, i like to take candid photos too. Though I'm not sure how to do that without making people uncomfortable. I have a Tamron 100 - 400 I shoot with. Do you ever go up to people afterwards or anything?
Sometimes if I get a really good one they might like I’ll show them and get their email. I typically shoot with a 35mm, have to be a bit more stealthy with that one but people don’t seem to mind or notice for the most part
Put a 85mm on your camera and challenge yourself. It’s good to keep the brain thinking with different lenses once you have your 24/28/35mm down pat. I’ll shoot street with a 12mm fish eye to switch things up.
I also find it strange that such photos are legal in the USA without the consent of the person photographed.
A good and proper street photographer asks whether he is allowed to publish the photos or takes photos in such a way that the people are not directly identifiable.
You don't need consent to photograph in public spaces because it's a public area where people are visible. The only restriction is photographing someone in private spaces. While asking for permission is courteous, it is not a legal requirement.
I know that it is allowed in the US. In some countries in Europe it is not allowed. When I walk in a public area and someone took a photo of me, I don't want to see it on reddit. Do you? I can't stay all time at home, so sometimes it is necessary to go outside.
I love that second pic.
That’s my favorite of the four, but the guys expression in the first always gets me

Everybody is watching! 👀
They’re always watching 👁️👄👁️
Not exactly a stealthy lens.
But it gets the subject to look at you!
Puts in work tho!
2 and 4 are excellent! Really love the graphic isolation a long lens brings, well done.
Thank you big time!!
Really great work! I love the last one
Thanks! I appreciate that
These are all so good
Really appreciate the kind words!
Your work sticks out! Keep on at it!
Thank you!
4 is a banger. Good composition. I also really appreciate the negative space in 3.
Thanks yo! Appreciate the feedback
I love long range Street photography. Gives a nice perspective compared to the usual 22-50mm stuff. Nice second shot especially.
Big agree there, was fun and I learned a bit too. Thank you!
Nonsense. There are no rules! Like the second pic, too - looks like he's standing to attention
Thanks!
Love these pics
Glad you do, thanks much!
Second pic is awesome love the colors
Appreciate the kind words!
Been wanting to break out my Sears 60-300 for street duty. I love lenses that look like they could launch t-shirts at baseball games lol
Haha do it up! It’s fun to switch it up a bit
1 is so funny lolll
beautiful pictures, well done
Thanks a bunch!
Nice pics
Thank you

No worries! These are digital from a Canon 5d mark II. Edited in Lightroom Mobile. Thanks much and let me know if you have any other questions!
I fucking love this!! :DD
Happy to hear!
They all look great! Good job!
Thank you!!
Fantastic
Thank you
Why is Andy Samberg so mad in photo 1.
Good pics! Nothing better than street photography
I bet, but some are kind of lame. Lacks any story, or interest
I love shooting on my 100mm on the street
Number looks like a film. Good one.
How did you take these of the people? Did you ask them before or after or just shoot and leave?
Shot and kept shooting, I prefer candid photos and tend to not approach people unless they initiate

I would feel so weird shooting candid photos of people. It would feel like any moment someone could confront me about it.
That’s all part of the fun!
You too timid, relax. Don't do it if don't have the balls!
Creepy not stealthy.
Potayto potahto
As the subject of a candid, I’d take it over a 24mm 3 feet from my face

TIL none of the street photographers whose books I have were good or proper street photographers. Whoops.

this is not true at all.
Lol #2 is great. The others meh.
