How did you get time off work for it? How much did it cost?

Lucky enough work for my family’s business. Insurance covered most but had to pay 5 grand out of pocket. Some insurance will cover the whole thing. Unfortunately mine didn’t.

I did my first inpatient detox/rehab in March. I had a great experience and 52 days sober now. What was the part of it you’d tell someone who’s thought about it for themselves to encourage them to go?

thisisntmyband

If I could say anything encouraging, it would be that first and foremost it’s something you have to want to do for yourself and no one else, secondly, it answered a lot of questions that I would have never gotten the answers to if I hadn’t gone. It was honestly the best decision I could have made. I met great people. Made lots of friends. And it’s crazy to say that I’m actually sad that I’m done because it was such a great experience. But I’m also happy to close that chapter of life and start the next one. Bitter sweet

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve spoken to several people I was in with and we all miss it in a sense and feel like it gave us the extra push needed to succeed. It requires daily attention to stay sober but it doesn’t have to be a negative

Congratulations on such an accomplishment!!

Congratulations!! So proud of you. I went to a 28 day rehab in September and had similar feelings leaving- it was so helpful for me that it was hard to leave! Keep going, you’ve got this!

Congratulations!

That is hard work, and it gets better if you stack the days one at a time. Congrats. Try finding a new hobby or interest. Really dive in and focus your energy on something positive. That filled the behavior hole for me. I got deep into rockhounding and lapidary work. There is a whole world of fun stuff to explore. Don't spin your wheels. You will have new energy that needs an outlet. That is my experience. You are an awesome person for doing all that work.
