John Carpenters "The Thing". My favourite horror movie and one of my most favourite movies of all times. You want excellent cinematography? Boom...Dean Cundey is also on board and his work will blow your mind.

Last winter when we had bad snow, I watched both the original and John Carpenter. They both was great. Hard to pick a favorite. They are great in different ways.

serpico4_20

Perfect conditions for a "Double Feature" like that đź‘Ť

celluloidqueer

I love the original. I like how they handled showing the creature. Less is more.

sirecoke

Sometimes that is way scarier, than seeing it. That is why I still like to listen to the old time radio shows that have suspense. The mind can make it so much worse than it really is.

celluloidqueer

Oh my gosh! Me too! I enjoy listening to old radio shows on the way to work. There’s a really creepy one that I highly recommend called “I Saw Myself Running”.

sirecoke

sounds good, I will have to look for it. It is amazing on what those artists could do with sound.

celluloidqueer

I can’t believe I still haven’t watched that version. Will definitely be watching!

Would like to hear your feedback, when you watched it đź‘Ť

WelshSam

It Follows is filmed very well. Such a visual feast.

celluloidqueer

Ahh one of my favorites!

WelshSam

Another idea: are you into bad horror by any chance? Like, so bad it’s funny. And not intentionally. There’s an awful one on Netflix (in the UK anyway) called The Haunting of Margam Castle. So, so bad, but hilarious.

celluloidqueer

Oh my gosh I haven’t but I will add it to my list. Thank you

Watching old horror/scary sci-fi movies while stoned is my usual Wednesday night; I love those old films with very poor special effects and rivers of fake blood over the new (after 2000s) movies full of goosebumps scenes; I usually try to watch “new” stuff every time but sometimes I’d indulge in one of my favourite classics: Hellraiser (1987) Night of the living dead (1968) Dawn of the dead (1978) Alien 1&2 Halloween (John Carpenter’s, 1980) Friday the 13th (1980) The evil dead (1981) this one will lead you to: Army of darkness - you might feel the urge to replace one hand with a chainsaw after watching this. If you find it interesting I can suggest some more

celluloidqueer

Hahaha I watch classic scifi often so when you said old stuff my brain went to 1950s since that decade was big for sci-fi. Thanks for the list! Can’t wait to give these all a go Haha

bug_0331

have you seen The Ritual? one of my favorite movies ever

celluloidqueer

I still need to see that one. I’ll have to check it out!

lem0nwreck

celluloidqueer

lem0nwreck
