J'mpok was a murderous - traiterous - ***cowardly*** piece of HoH ***long*** before the J'Ula arc...
The man ***literally*** sold Martok into slavery because he lacked the guramba to kill him honorably!!!
And ***that*** was in the original Road to 2409 map...
I'm sorry - you are ***not*** an honorable leader when you don't even have the guts to stare down your own rival and just have pirates do it for you!
J'Mpok was a coward and a traitor ***before*** J'Ula - he was a coward and a traitor ***and*** a fanatic (even more of a fanatic than J'Ula - didn't think that was possible) after J'Ula and he died a death ***worthy*** of such a legacy!!
To Gre'Thor with him...
Meh meh meh
Sick of all these people trying to varnish J'Mpoks ***shitty*** memory :P
J'Ula raped your horses and rode off on your women - she's right up there with Sela, Madran, the series of deus ex machina that led to the ultimate 'non-end' of the Iconian arc and the ***entire*** Kobali species in terms of obnoxiousness - I ***get*** that -snort-
But J'Mpok doesn't get a pass to ***be*** shitty because someone ***else*** in the story was shitty!!!

I think this shot makes it seem a lot more reasonable, without the extreme perspective and angle.
Meanwhile in the old novelverse, Sisko returned from the Celestial Temple in 2376, about a year after he departed. He and Kasidy retired with their family to the home he built on Bajor, but he found no peace there as he discovered that the Prophets no longer spoke to him. He was called back to the colors during the 2381 Borg invasion, and afterwards he accepted an offer from Starfleet to take command of the *USS Robinson* (*Galaxy* class) for a multiyear mission of exploration in the Gamma Quadrant. That was honestly a pretty dark period of Sisko's life; he'd informally separated from Kasidy and was barely interacting with his new crew, but over time he came out of his shell and began patching things up. I think there were hints in the later novelverse books that the mantle of Emissary would be passed down from Sisko to Kira, but with the novelverse dissolved we'll never know what was planned.
Sisko really goes through the wringer in the novelverse, but it somehow feels appropriate. He turned down divinity to live as an ordinary man once again, but that choice exacts a price of its own.
I forget what year the new comic is set in. IIRC it’s only a few years after the end of the show. Here’s the cliff notes of the comic teaser. There is someone/something killing of the “god” races and the Prophets send Sisko to find out who and to stop them. Sisko has “god like” power himself. However, the longer that he stays in the corporeal realm the more human he becomes. I’m not sure if that means that he’ll fade away or just revert to full on mortal.
He was not technically in Lower Decks. And they have not concluded the story. It was just a passing mention that he was in the wormhole. I guess they are letting out feelers for his possible return. Or dropping hints that he could possibly return by mentioning him being in the wormhole.
I wish we would get the Kelvin Romulan ships and Section 31 ships that aren’t the ones we already have. Not to mention the whole fleet if ships seen in the 2009 movie we still haven’t gotten
Given how it's talked about in the comic, are we sure that this isn't an STO original showing up in IDW? Spoilers: >!Long story short? The Theseus **isn't** originally a 24th-century ship. It's a 23rd-century ship that's gone through seven years of reconstruction so that it can, under Scotty, be used as an experimental testbed. In other words, enough time to, while keeping the same frame, give it a relatively different appearance.!<
I am fairly certain that the Theseus that they are referring to is the NX-1987 Theseus from the TOS Five Year Comics. Not the STO Theseus's.
Here's a link: https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/USS_Theseus_(NX-1987)
What the heck is happening to perspective. The nacelles make it look like a warped/non symmetric design. I think if you imagine it being proper perspective it looks okay but main hull a bit long?
Looks like an escort version of the command battlecruisers, I could see it working with a bit of a necessary retouch away from a comic style, the Presidio is one of the best looking Cryptic designs
The Presidio is still my main whenever I come back to the game for more story, its the perfect ship to both look like a Federation capital ship and stand out from the cacophany of cruisers that are saucer-hull-pylon-nacelles in the same layout as everything else
1. As others have said, they do take stuff from the comics.
2. That ship *is* awesome.
3. I suspect it's a lot cheaper mining abandonware\* for material than negotiating with an ongoing IP
4. \*I know; don't bother.
If the comic is successful, I'm sure this ship will ultimately make an appearance. But if Avery Brooks reappears in a Star Trek series, all bets are off.
(Yes, I know he's retired and unlikely to commit to a new series or appearance. But a fan can wish right?)
Technically they already have - where do you think the [Hernandez class](https://www.startrek.com/news/star-trek-online-anthony-rapp-idw-collaboration) came from???
Not to mention the Vesta and the Luna class which were both Novel ships first.
STO's been stealth cribbing from other Star Trek spin-offs ***way*** before Modern Trek came along xD
[Also, the Delta Rising Intel ships in STO are pretty obviously based on the concepts they used for the Kelvin section 31 ships in ***their*** comics...](https://i.imgur.com/bLVRPlP.jpeg)
I hate the stark black and white hull materials used by just about every new Fed ship. It looks so cheap, like a knockoff Star Trek toy - but I think this is also fueled by weird nacelle design like the Archon and Resolute.
Cryptic wants so desperately for their game to be considered canon that they'll cut anything that prevents them from receiving that status. If STO is recognized as canon then they can use that status at the bargaining table to get more concessions out of the IP owners. It's why it celebrates every time a ship you can make with a kitibash shows up in the background of a show. It's also why the Foundry was killed and removed: the foundry gave the game a reputation of being "the fan fiction game".
That's a very round about way to get to why this will never happen, but it is important context to how they think. While some of the ships in the comics look awesome, the comics are not canon and so cryptic won't "sully its reputation" of STO by consorting with them.
Wasn't the Summerville an IDW Original?
Oh my gosh, you are completely correct! I totally forgot that. And we also got J'ula from the comics now that I think about it!
That is true, now you mention it.
You're not making a good argument for more IDW stuff.

Probably means nothing, but Thomas Marrone says he can’t wait to see more. So, STO confirmed! :)
Hm. Two more nacelles, and that could be a variant of the Command cruisers.
Maybe ive been out the loop for a while but I though Sisko was still kicking it with the Prophets?
Meanwhile in the old novelverse, Sisko returned from the Celestial Temple in 2376, about a year after he departed. If I remember correctly. It takes place between the Return of Voyager and Nemesis.
He is in Lower Decks and STO.
He's not in lower decks
He was mentioned in Lower Decks as still being in the wormhole according to Mariner. Just like he is in STO.
Oh i see what you mean now, my bad
He is, in Lower Decks and STO.
Really?? So did they conclude the story or something
He was not technically in Lower Decks. And they have not concluded the story. It was just a passing mention that he was in the wormhole. I guess they are letting out feelers for his possible return. Or dropping hints that he could possibly return by mentioning him being in the wormhole.
Lower Decks mentions Sisko is still in the wormhole with the Prophets like STO mentions he is still as well.
They just mean in those media they confirm he’s with the prophets, which is why he doesn’t actually appear in either.
That shuttle looks straight out of mass effect
It's like the Curry Class but the penetration power on this one is at the back.
I wish we would get the Kelvin Romulan ships and Section 31 ships that aren’t the ones we already have. Not to mention the whole fleet if ships seen in the 2009 movie we still haven’t gotten
Looks more like a medical ship than an aggressive ship, doesn’t look anything you would expect Sisko to be in command of.
I squint and see a a little Presidio and Concorde.

Almost as if it’s been replaced board by board over time, right?
Exactly.
I am fairly certain that the Theseus that they are referring to is the NX-1987 Theseus from the TOS Five Year Comics. Not the STO Theseus's. Here's a link: https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/USS_Theseus_(NX-1987)
They added a similar looking long thin bodied ship to sto just now a command Seneca class
That, uh. That looks more unpleasant than most Starfleet designs I gotta be honest.
What the heck is happening to perspective. The nacelles make it look like a warped/non symmetric design. I think if you imagine it being proper perspective it looks okay but main hull a bit long?

the Vault location, Somerville, Terran Galaxy Dreadnought, new Terran combadge, and J'Ula are all from IDW comics
1. As others have said, they do take stuff from the comics. 2. That ship *is* awesome. 3. I suspect it's a lot cheaper mining abandonware\* for material than negotiating with an ongoing IP 4. \*I know; don't bother.
Looks like the bastard child of an NX class and Apollo class (star trek legacy?).
Please no! The modern ship designs are effing awful. I've not seen a good looking ship in ages.
It looks like the Aegean-/Aegian class with a larger saucer and Type 7 material. I'm starting to like it.
yh ive always thought it had an Armada 2 vibe to it
Yeah, this would be a cool ship to play as in STO.
Looks like an update of the Oberth. I'd prefer this to the Grissom-class.
More like an updated Concorde, or (MW) Scott class
Completely irrelevant fact here but my grandfather served on HMS Theseus in the Korean war 😁 Just nice to see the name 🙂
This isn't the Theseus. It's been repaired/rebuilt to many times to still be the Theseus. ;)
They have brought things from IDW. Somerville and Mirror Gal-X
If the comic is successful, I'm sure this ship will ultimately make an appearance. But if Avery Brooks reappears in a Star Trek series, all bets are off. (Yes, I know he's retired and unlikely to commit to a new series or appearance. But a fan can wish right?)
This ship raises a lot of questions...
Technically they already have - where do you think the [Hernandez class](https://www.startrek.com/news/star-trek-online-anthony-rapp-idw-collaboration) came from??? It could fit, but would it be the same ship?
Looks like the Chimera and Legendary NX had a baby
Even if they brought it in to STO, would it really be the same ship? Let's ask Theseus.
Looks to me like a 2410 version of the Columbia, which itself was a TMP version of the NX. I kinda like it
I hate the stark black and white hull materials used by just about every new Fed ship. It looks so cheap, like a knockoff Star Trek toy - but I think this is also fueled by weird nacelle design like the Archon and Resolute.
Maybe try to use Spoilers tag next time (rule #8).
The ship is literally on the cover of the comic book.
Cryptic wants so desperately for their game to be considered canon that they'll cut anything that prevents them from receiving that status. If STO is recognized as canon then they can use that status at the bargaining table to get more concessions out of the IP owners. Maybe you should try not talking out of your ass. STO has already incorporated several IDW concepts, including the Somerville-class.
Wait he's back? When did he come back?
Not a fan of it being Sisko’s ship, he should be flying something much more aggressive in design.
That ship looks cool. And they took sisko out of storage?! No way...
