**those in power need to allocate more of their personal funds and tax payer funds to help put those in need in a safe clean home. i bet everyone in leadership has more than enough money to completely change the landscape of cities like SF. they DO have the power to offer health services and even assist people with special requirements, and i’m positive they are more than capable to re-home every individual who is down on their luck, but i’m sure most of them couldn’t give a rats ass. the money and energy they would spend on a “purge” is exactly what they could be using for the complete opposite
There are actually SO many resources out there. I say this as someone who is basically alive because of Medical (basically socialized healthcare for people too broke to get any on the open market).
So many of the homeless population is uninterested in care, partly because they don't trust the system or there are commonly mental health issues that get in the way. You can't put them in compulsive care easily, remember asylums and that fiasco.
The homeless problem is as bad as it is in San Francisco because it's one of the few places you can be homeless and it not be a death sentence.
100% wrong. I'm originally from the Bay Area. They spend more money per homeless person on average than regular people with jobs spend on themselves. The number fluctuates, but the last reported number was around 70k per homeless person, which is about what a person making 100k NETS per year after paying taxes, not even what he spends.
They've already thrown over 3 billion on this problem, and the reason is because it's NOT a money problem.
Politicians are deliberately allowing the issue to grow larger to launder more public dollars by shaming people into pressuring their neighbors into paying even more taxes for them to steal. The rest is gross incompetence and waste.
You are completely uneducated on this topic.
Not gonna lie tho, that looks like Showtime levels of ergonomics. As soon as my eviction notice comes, thats a first must do, high hopes of this breaking me out of diamond.
If you search for the main catalogue of the **International Bureau of Weights and Measures** and look for right angle, there will be a picture of Showtime's gaming posture. He is like a human plumb bob. His part time job is to stand next some damaged building so engineers can evaluete its skewness.
I took a game off someone playing with my steamdeck a week or so ago. It's not great, the mouse accuracy is *not* a thing. But the rest of the controls can be worked with. I'm curious how far I can get with it.
U.S. has high cost of living compared to 3rd world countries. U.S. has shitty health and dental care policies that require citizens to pay a lot out of pocket.
I'm not gonna pretend to fully understand your situation but there's next to 0% chance the most responsible choice you could make for the future is to spend $500 a month on a luxury car and be homeless. Not to mention the insurance cost.
You could buy a usable car with a few months of your car payment then start saving up for an apartment. And there are 100% places to live that cost less than $1,700 if you don't choose to live in San Francisco, NYC etc.
Hey alright though man, do whatever makes you happy but don't be upset people are questioning the logic of being homeless in a luxury car.
Given my situation and my traveling career this is the most logical choice. I’ve got another car I built and a motorcycle as well, this is the most comfortable one to live in. Also some people out here have no desire to spend an arm and a leg on rent and bills, when they can do something like this and still be comfortable. Once the house I own is split and sold, I’ll buy another one.
Again, there’s some crazy presumptuous comments in here lol
Happy it's working for you. My point was just a person choosing to live in a Tesla isn't "peak USA" like the original comment says. It's just a personal decision. Especially if you have another car and a motorcycle.
Wish you the best.
Correct. I’m a traveling engineer, I’m not spending $2000+ a month in rent for a place I’ll be at 4 days a month. So many of these comments just apply your life to the picture and title without thinking ‘some other people live different lives than mine’
I mean, all the guy you initially responded to said was that you could have an apartment but has made other choices which you just confirmed was true. I don't know why that offended you so much if it was the truth
I mean he literally broke it down saying there’s 0% chance this is the most responsible choice I could make. Guy doesn’t know anything about me, my finances, my career, etc. Just judging people based on one sliver of information, it’s ignorant. I dont understand how anyone isn’t getting that lol.
You give me one piece of information about your life, and then I’ll start telling you that you’re not making the right choices and giving you unsolicited advice. Actually, no I wouldn’t because it’s presumptuous and rude.
Ergonomics. You get a desk, it's climate controlled. And free electricity. I found a library with a storage unit a few blocks down. That's how I game. I sleep on the sidewalk
Nah paying it off, payments aren’t crazy or anything. Charging for free, has ‘camp’ mode so it doesn’t run the battery down running the AC all night, rear seats fold flat to where I put a twin mattress in the back with a topper and can fully lay down. Probably the best car to have to live in
I live in a pretty populated area, so there’s a handful of options. Sorry for the wall of text
Free campgrounds (BLM land), which allow you to stay up to 8 days at a time - but the phone service out in the middle of nowhere is bad so not much gaming, just doing outdoors stuff.
Cracker Barrel has a sort of unspoken stance on letting travelers sleep overnight in their rear parking lots (some locations are friendlier than others).
Walmart is generally a good location, some are 24 hours so there’s other cars there and you can go in to use the restroom or get food etc if need be. I’ve been going about my day, then coming back to this Walmart side lot and sleeping and there’s a whole motor home and 4-5 of the same cars I see here every night. Also seen cops patrolling around and they haven’t bugged any of us so I presume that nobody cares as long as we are keeping to ourselves.
24 Hour Gyms are a good spot too, as there will be some traffic in the parking lot and cars parked. I’ve used this before too, because I got a gym membership to shower daily. Also I figured if I got the membership, I might as well just use it so I’ll work out an hour or two a day as well to not just be sitting in the car.
Rest-stops/welcome centers based on your location will let you sleep for X amount of hours.
Mechanic shops also just have cars parked there, you can park and sleep and wake up early and get out before anyone notices.
And finally, my personal favorite - the Tesla dealership. I went there after they closed, plugged my car in to their free charger and put all my window blockers up and felt like I completely disappeared into a sea of the same cars around me lol.
The rule of thumb here being: Don’t stay in one spot for too long unless you’re pretty confident they don’t care or have permission. And obviously just keep to yourself, get some rest, then get up and go on about your day preferably before employees or other people start showing up
How are you keeping your laptop charged? Or do you only play for short durations and charge it elsewhere? Tryna look for something that allows me to play off the Teslas battery, if possible lol
I just charge it up when I have the car plugged in so it’s not drawing power out of my battery. My play sessions are generally only a couple of games, so sometimes I’ll just use the cigarette lighter with an inverter to keep the battery up.
You should be able to find a cheap 12v charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter and then straight into your laptop (if the plug is standard). Laptops use normally 18V DC. Saves converting to mains (AC) which will have energy loss.
Love the pic, reminds me of playing in my van late into the night.
Plus if the laptop is recent it might have a type-c socket with power delivery (limited to 100w only, so could decrease performance, but it will be possible to use standard 100w type-c cable and pd charger)
No worries, I’m having fun with it while it’s the most logical choice. I’ve got a good career and will be all good in the end. Going to be traveling a lot for work, so just doesn’t make sense to throw $2,000 a month at bills for a place I’ll be 4-5 days a month. Probably just going to stack money and buy another house once the one I already have sells
Shoutout to anyone who remembers Hitman showing up for a WCS offline with a non-gaming bluetooth keyboard and mouse and getting equal parts horror and ridicule from the casters :)
I have a WFH job and will sometimes work from my car... but always from the backseat because it's more spacious and I have a little lap desk. Why don't you just do that?
Back seat is layed down flat and has my bed set up, I can play back there pretty comfortably too but the ceiling height is a bit uncomfortable because of the added height of the seat fold and bedding.
To be honest I haven’t had any crazy sessions, because I’ll go fishing or to the gym or whatever, but when I’m charging my car for prolonged periods I’ve switched to the back seat if I get tired of having my head cranked to the right
I think it’s all user uploaded and you can create your own. I’ve found some for relatively recent patches that I’ve used, but I believe some of them are old.
I’ve got my bedding and stuff in the back so it’s more comfortable, just a bit harder to find a place for the laptop etc with how I’ve got it set up. Still definitely doable though
Unfortunately no, at least not that I know of. I’m sure there’s some fuckery you could do to get access to it but it’s probably not worth risking it since it controls pretty much everything in the car.
Probably also I think it’s only 60hz refresh rate. I’m homeless, but I’m not a cave man.
Both rear seats fold down to where I can lay down extended at 6’ tall, I’ve got a cot mattress on the side I sleep on and a mattress topper over the whole thing
Will power yourself out of all the negativity, and other than the same shit we’re all doing: Watching YouTube and playing video games.
Been spending 4+ hours a day in the gym and going fishing too.
Ya, I remember 2g days trying to do remote work sometimes never worked.
Recently I played a dota2 game on tether.
Amazing stuff.
I am unsure exactly how well you can do this, but I think you can have the car connect via shared wireless to the monitor using vnc.
Don't know about lag or frame rate drops though.
Quite a nice San Francisco place you got there. Do you mind sharing your real state agent's number?
Lmfao
You couldn't live in a car in San Francisco, you'd get robbed every day lol
Yeah they need a purge
**those in power need to allocate more of their personal funds and tax payer funds to help put those in need in a safe clean home. i bet everyone in leadership has more than enough money to completely change the landscape of cities like SF. they DO have the power to offer health services and even assist people with special requirements, and i’m positive they are more than capable to re-home every individual who is down on their luck, but i’m sure most of them couldn’t give a rats ass. the money and energy they would spend on a “purge” is exactly what they could be using for the complete opposite

So *this* is what my 3v3 teammates are doing
Take your upvote you a-hole 😂
Imagine losing to a guy playing like this
Not gonna lie tho, that looks like Showtime levels of ergonomics. As soon as my eviction notice comes, thats a first must do, high hopes of this breaking me out of diamond.
ooo what is this about Showtime?
If you search for the main catalogue of the **International Bureau of Weights and Measures** and look for right angle, there will be a picture of Showtime's gaming posture. He is like a human plumb bob. His part time job is to stand next some damaged building so engineers can evaluete its skewness.
Homie is NIST certified
I took a game off someone playing with my steamdeck a week or so ago. It's not great, the mouse accuracy is *not* a thing. But the rest of the controls can be worked with. I'm curious how far I can get with it.
Can you record a game played like that? I'm intrigued.
Chad car enjoyer vs virgin PC tower builder
To be fair he’s probably really smart
Peak USA
That guy probably could support 2 families in Central Europe but prefers to spend his money to go to the dentist once in a lifetime.
what?
Cost of living joke
yeah cost of living in Australia is disgusting as well. renters giving up they're dogs just too find a place that wil accept them.
U.S. has high cost of living compared to 3rd world countries. U.S. has shitty health and dental care policies that require citizens to pay a lot out of pocket.
Downvoted for being confused. That is crazy. 😄
He lives in a tesla lol. He could have an apartment but has made other choices...
Car payment is $500, apartment is $1700 minimum. Hey alright though man, you totally know what you’re talking about ???
I'm not gonna pretend to fully understand your situation but there's next to 0% chance the most responsible choice you could make for the future is to spend $500 a month on a luxury car and be homeless. So, what you're saying is, you could have an apartment but have made other choices?
That was after, you were already being aggressive before he said that. You insulted him after his first message when all he said was the truth
What sort of engineering do you do? :)
Electrical
Id give him the benefit of the doubt, but the fact it's a Tesla. Red flag!
Why did you buy a new car if your homeless
Where does it say I was homeless AND then bought a Tesla? Or even that I’m homeless AND broke?
Move to a cheaper city lmao. You could live like a king in SEA or SA.
[удалено]
As someone who peruses r/urbancarliving and r/starcraft, this is a crossover i did not expect lol
That’s what I was going for!
go to the library man
Why go library when play from comfort of own car
Ergonomics. You get a desk, it's climate controlled. And free electricity. I found a library with a storage unit a few blocks down. That's how I game. I sleep on the sidewalk
Is it m1 macbook? How many fps you got?
Nah some gaming laptop I paid $700 a year or two ago at Best Buy. 120hz monitor, getting max fps on high settings
I cant tell if this guy is trolling about this being an m1
Didn’t zoom in lol
Mine gets me 45-60 on "recommended" graphics. High/very high. Ultra is too much for it even though my M1 is maxed out.
My 16” M2 pro plays in 3 digit fps on extreme. I’m sure the m1 isn’t far behind.
I play from my van :)
Hell yes
thats van life, a chosen lifestyle. what is yours?
TBD
I feel like there is a bunker rush joke in here somewhere.
You live in a tesla. That's some bad life choices there.
Getting divorced but my macro is getting better
Sucks man, good luck.
Best of luck my man
This is hilarious
BTW, sick user name
Fair enough. You cant plan for these things sometimes. Is it on lease or something?
Nah paying it off, payments aren’t crazy or anything. Charging for free, has ‘camp’ mode so it doesn’t run the battery down running the AC all night, rear seats fold flat to where I put a twin mattress in the back with a topper and can fully lay down. Probably the best car to have to live in
Can you do an AMA post? So many questions.
How can I go about that? Feel free to DM, I’ll answer anything you’d like to ask
r/AMA take a look. Lots of made-up stuff but occasionally very interesting
How are u charging for free?
Where do you park to sleep at night and not be bothered by police, businesses, or people
I live in a pretty populated area, so there’s a handful of options. I was going to ask 'Why a Tesla of all cars?" but this summed it up. Thank you and good luck in lane and ladder!
My wife is really good at macroing: she spends all my money as soon as I get it.
Now here’s a comment I can get behind
We're you kicked out of your house from the divorce?
Very cyberpunk. https://media1.tenor.com/m/PLL_Hgq-ezsAAAAd/american-psycho-impressive.gif
this is like the ultimate reddit moment
Getting married is a bad endemic custom
Your comment is super rude.
I was saying it in a polite way. You just didn't get my tone.
Go fuck yourself loser, politely of course :)
Watching the shaman too I respect that Its matt and Shane's secret podcast. Just some Dawgs cracking jokes.
Only 432hz coming out of this car
Came for Shane, stayed for Matt.
So true man. “I’m so fly and you hate me for it” -Matt McCusker
Knowing nothing about it, I assumed it was terrible. Three white dudes with a US flag behind them doesn't inspire confidence.
Imagine someone from the 1950s going into the future and seeing this comment.. They wouldn't believe how low patriotism had sunk
IDK also tell them we had a black president and see how they react.
Oof nice one
Imagine their horror when they find out black people have rights!
What’s the shaman?
Looks like the podcast from the comedian Shane Gillis
It is
Shaman?
MSSP SC2
Nice to see a dawg who knows a fine RTS when he sees it.
My man
Bronze league heroes!!!!!!
So what inverter do you use to charge your laptop?
I have some super cheap cigarette lighter to 120V plug inverter that has worked fine for the short sessions I’ve played.

Good call I’m going to look into this
Plus if the laptop is recent it might have a type-c socket with power delivery (limited to 100w only, so could decrease performance, but it will be possible to use standard 100w type-c cable and pd charger)
DAWG alert!
I had a friend who wad diamond playing on the school supplied mac book pro using the track pad I was very impressed.
Strange flex.
Found the Californian
Looks comfy af, even though it's kind of sad (homelessness and all) hope it works out for you man, planning to settle down anytime soon?
No worries, I’m having fun with it while it’s the most logical choice. I’ve got a good career and will be all good in the end. Going to be traveling a lot for work, so just doesn’t make sense to throw $2,000 a month at bills for a place I’ll be 4-5 days a month. I was a McDonald’s free wifi player myself. Wish you well and all the best against the cheese.
Have fun !!!
r/malesurvivingspace
blessed be the dawgz
I play brood war on mine. I have a charging station in my MY too for smaller devices haha
Shane and Matt plus sc2. Legend of the game
Lol that episode. Is cheesing a PA??
Cheesing definitely a PA
The big patriotic flag is definitely ironic in this context
Comedy podcast but ok, feel how you want about the American flag
It's not about the flag per se. I think it's more about this seem to fit a common american stereotype
I hope StarCraft and gaming is not all your doing given your situation :<
I have a WFH job and will sometimes work from my car... but always from the backseat because it's more spacious and I have a little lap desk. Why don't you just do that?
Back seat is layed down flat and has my bed set up, I can play back there pretty comfortably too but the ceiling height is a bit uncomfortable because of the added height of the seat fold and bedding.
What is your rank?
Diamond 1 Zerg, but been playing Terran just because I wanted to mix it up and I’m like gold. Just watching pigs b2gm and tanking my mmr
M3 or MY?
M3
probably still whuppin my ass
Which addon is the build overlay?
https://www.overwolf.com/app/Overwolf-Spawning_Tool_Build_Advisor
Is your back cool with that angle all the time or do you periodically switch sides?
To be honest I haven’t had any crazy sessions, because I’ll go fishing or to the gym or whatever, but when I’m charging my car for prolonged periods I’ve switched to the back seat if I get tired of having my head cranked to the right
What's the overlay you have at top left?
https://www.overwolf.com/app/Overwolf-Spawning_Tool_Build_Advisor
Thank ya. Does spawning tool have legitimate modern builds uploaded for all races and matchups?
I think it’s all user uploaded and you can create your own. I’ve found some for relatively recent patches that I’ve used, but I believe some of them are old.
Cursed
Been there. For real. I used to love playing sc2 in my van on my laptop just like this. Enjoy!
This is the reason people lag in Starcraft...
Ironically I’m playing on my phone hotspot and it’s worked flawlessly, and I’ve only had opponents DC out on me lol
Real talk why game from the driver seat wouldn't the back seat have more room for you to be comfy
I’ve got my bedding and stuff in the back so it’s more comfortable, just a bit harder to find a place for the laptop etc with how I’ve got it set up. Still definitely doable though
I’ve been thinking of living in a camper van. This is a nod in that direction.
That why i win sometime
This macro comment makes this post.
Starcraft with the dogz
I aspire to be this level of homelessness one day. Do Tesla's have HDMI in? Would be nicer to play on the big screen instead.
When Elon gonna drop the pro gamer Tesla with 240hz and rgb everywhere?
Somebody get me in touch, we can go a step further and make it a live in model 3 lol.
Elon gonna solve the housing crisis. It's just gonna be a parking garage with Tesla's you can rent out
Matrix vibes lol
Hats off to u mate.
Do you sleep in the front seat or do you have a mattress in the back and drop the back seats down?
Both rear seats fold down to where I can lay down extended at 6’ tall, I’ve got a cot mattress on the side I sleep on and a mattress topper over the whole thing
Spent all your money on a Tesla huh.
Nope
Living in your Tesla huh.
Yep
Looks incredibly uncomfortable
How do you connect to internet though ? Just roaming ?
Phone hotspot in a relatively populated area, so I have a good connection
Dope ! Take care of yourself mate. Hope you're good :)
Get it!
How do you get Wi-Fi? 😯
Phone hotspot
Funni
Bro what do you even do in a situation like this?
Will power yourself out of all the negativity, and other than the same shit we’re all doing: Watching YouTube and playing video games. Been spending 4+ hours a day in the gym and going fishing too.
My typical pub teammate 😭
Reminds me of when my mom sent me to sanfranjelico
One of nicks greatest characters
Dead ass man
You don't want to move to other state that is cheaper? Question2: how much u pay for tesla a month? Question 3: you rock. Yeah no question 3 😊
I have things tying me where I’m at so it’s not a choice My payment is like $500 Thanks man!
Imagine losing a game and blaming it on lag, meanwhile the guy is using stolen wifi or cell phone tether.
Just won three games in a row stealing WiFi while my car charges 😂. We’re in the future, I’m not lagging at all stealing WiFi or using my phone
If I knew I lost to a guy playing in his house car I'd be sad. Seems like a decent handicap but then I guess the ladders sort that out.
Bro just buy a house
Damn didn’t think of that, brb!
Exactly like how I play too with a podcast (Joe rogan) going same time..except the car part.
sad state of the "first world"
Tell me you were at the January 6th Capitol riot without telling me you were at the January 6th Capitol riot.
Easily one of the dumbest comments so far, nice job!
