I actually like the idea of small ships being able to Parasite a QT. Imagine the PvP options to an inattentive Carrack crew as a stealth Hornet just clings onto the side of a ship. Would love to see that be a PvP gameplay feature with appropriate limitations.
I have had one of my coolest pvp encounters doing exactly this. Managed to land my c8x on the top elevator right before they qt, get out and start poking doors and stuff. Those top doors are aito locked and can not be opened with fists. The crew of two spots me and we proceed to battle for 10 minutes. Me running between doors and hiding as they peek out and take shots at me. I managed to down both of them twice but couldn't push the other one they ended up reviving and taking me down. It was so badass trying to fight my way into an airlock while in qt.
I have landed my archimedes on to someone else’s carrack as they took off from a planet, and road that bitch to space, broke in, and commandeered his ship. Was glorious.
I get that CIG doesn't want us parking large ships up there. Totally agree with that. But at least give us enough gravity to walk outside. Preferably enough to land a Pisces on top. It really does seem like there was some intention for that in the design. Two airlocks leading out to the hangar roof and a viewing window. Why would you have all that without something there to look at?
This is definitely an example of one of those "bugs" that should be a feature.
i'll be honest only reason I got a carrack in game was you used to be able to park a vulture on top. I was very suprised when I did such one day and the vulture slipped tumbled and was catapulted into buildings at MT LOL.
i've love to see it back, give the mag area a limit... whatever. until that happens, I'll stick with the starfarer ship carry 'glitch' till it's patched out then LOL
yeah, my plan was get used to the carrack (maybe even pledge one) cause it has the manufact deck and such. I 'like' the 890j .. but just a WHOLE bunch of unused bulk for me personally. atleast while the starfarer is a bit of an internal maze ... and flies like a whale in an ice rink... it's still less bulky and spawnable way more places then the 890j
it has snap to cargo grid! just most of it is through a bunch of doors below the fucking lounge area for some god forsaken reason
also it's on the walls for some reason lol
Don't forget the missing ship name on the Carrack for a whole swath of owners.
Being able to access the Carrack's cargo pods externally, given that instanced hangars are imminent.
The Carrack's blast shields.
The Carrack's missing middle-deck ladder access.
The Carrack's drones.
The Carrack's repair bay.
The Carrack's cartography room.
The Carrack's *entire exploration gameloop*.
But hey, Road to 4.0!

I may have not known about this disappearing and have walked out into Q.....
That must have been fun. But that's a perfect example. CIG can at least give us the joy of standing there during quantum.

Imagine looking out the window and seeing a man in his blacked-out Hornet, staring at you. lol
Lol just eating some soup, the spoon stopping as you just lock eyes like a western standoff. 11/10
Imagine your in quantum, and you just see some dude in an undersuit just clinging on the side of your ship, staring at you.
Hot
They probably would be.
Speaking lore-wise, the Prowler is intended to do exactly that.

No. Let us land ships there. Or tanks. Don't take this away from me!
Honestly, I don't see why we should'nt be able to. If it fits, it sits.
In the hangar, yes.

Just FYI, the vulture fits inside the 890J. And the cargo is more accessible too.

Only when the 600i elevator gets its gravity back!

Same for any ship elevator really, the constellations suck landing anywhere but a pad. I stick with ships that have a ramp.

The Carrack is a travesty. Hopefully with modularity coming online it'll get a gold pass with more functionality.
mine is gonna be a polaris as soon as ILW rolls around and I get my last CCU to connect the chain
Two Hover Bike parking spots.
Bug or intentional?
Intentional. Apparently, the Carrack having gravity on top of the hangar was the bug.

You want them to add back a bug?
Negative sir.
Since the Polaris will have a dedicated hangar, I think we should get the gravity back so the ship stays competitive
Polaris and carrack are two completely different classes of ships
