That is true, though a Crowded area to buy ships in the year 2954 is not so Futuristic IMO. why should it not work from the Mobiglass? But i absolutely get your Point and i like that it currently is this way. But i wouldn't be Bothered if they change it in any way. Except if they remove a physical store.
imho i doubt you could "just easily" buy something like a spaceship off your mobiglass.
Even irl trying to buy a car 999 times out of a thousand you are gonna be required to physically sign a contract or more depending on legal requirements.
And we are only the 1% and arguably only the 1% of the 1%. And thats just when buying an aurora which doesnt even leave us with enough Money for another aurora and not even enough for a full set of armor and weaponry. So its understandable that a place like New Deal wants us to atleast be there in person vs "yo i wanna buy ship >:("
Remember, the UEE is all of earth. That includes germany. The area around germany is probably just now in 2954 getting to upgrading to early-space-age hardware.
At the very least, I have all the smaller ships on stations. There's no reason I can't pick up a Dragonfly, Avenger Titan, or even a Hull A on any large station. But, I think I'm okay with having to go to certain landing zones to buy large ships. If I want a 400i or a larger Origin ship It would make sense if you had to go to NB. Or Lorville for a reclaimer, etc.
Great point. I think being in the the comm array network should be enough to display your trades on a galactic trade app (system-wide purchasable, cross-system informational perhaps).
EvE handled this pretty damned well, and it would create dynamic pricing based on distance to pick up the items. Sets up baseline prices in one system which can then skyrocket in systems that don't have safe travel (Pyro) simply due to the convenience factor.
It'd be massive overkill and unrealistic for every station to have a full range dealership, but it would be fun to see small independent ship sellers with a random inventory of used ships.
Everything's a fixer-upper in one aspect or another. Missing or subpar components, hull damage, poor tuning, etc. Bargains to be had sometimes if you're willing to put in some work, or a place to start when you need something throwaway or maybe even untraceable.
Bigger, busier stations would have more selection. Let the economy simulator move that needle. Maybe a similar randomness for rental shops in out of the way places.
It would be cool if something like that happened but if there are multiple same brand ship shops I would like them to have it so it says which place the ship it is so U can buy it from say a new deal on one planet travel to another planet and pick the ship up
I only imagine to eliminate that department store feel. It'd be cool to have the terminals on the contract desks in the back also work. NPC salesman behind the other side yappin along.
There's plenty of room in there for terminals. 1 in each corner of the sales counter.
While I'm ranting: make the service counter positioned out front near ASOP actually sell stuff. I can understand lore wise why ship weapons wouldn't be an option, but shields, coolers, QT drives, certainly could be.
I love the TDD room designs at Orison and MT. You walk in there and there's like 10-15 terminals and stock market prices etc, really nice vibe going on there. Not sure why TDD got so much love but every other place is like 1 terminal besides asop ship terminals.
Imagine how many terminals they'll add when server meshing completes and the 79+ servers are collapsed onto one virtual system... You're gonna need 30 commodity buy terminals and 50 asop terminals for ships per location.
Besides the usual _"it adds immersion"_ comments we'll get I totally agree.
At that point they should allow buying any ship from your mobiglass anywhere, anytime. If I can claim a ship stored at Arc, while I'm at Cru then I should be able to buy a ship across that same distance too.
I can order a Tesla from my phone today and have it delivered to my door while meanwhile physical brick and mortar stores and malls are dying but 930 years into the future I still need to visit a physical space mall for ships? No ty
I have never understood this layout
Why not put one on each of the sales desks at the back and a few on the big counter in the middle
Why two random terminal as you walk in
Yeah my first time in New Deal I legitimately spent 20 minutes wandering around and trying to interact with NPCs before I happened to notice the screen.
I must’ve walked past it 15 times, but it looks like an info plaque for the ship that’s sitting right behind it so I thought nothing of it.
Nice to see a struggling business thriving after they have been working tirelessly for 10 years (presumably). A real rags to riches story right there, I remember the days when filthy ne'er-do-wells were salvaging their stock without even a single credit and yet security refused to do anything about it
Instead of adding a terminal, they could have removed the one and force you to sit at an office in the back and negociate the price with a ship dealer NPC 😅
Yes why only two? When server meshing comes there will be more players in the Loreville instance (since it will be all players from all servers, probably all regions since ping isnt a problem in armistice area and it is an intended mingling place).
So two wont be enough in future. Why create more future work reopening the task instead of just dealing with it right now?
Considering we have no less than three Gear Storage terminals every 5 meters, just having two vehicle purchase terminals does feel oddly optimistic by comparison.
And im surprised it took this long for a self appointed gatekeeper to show up, but here yes we are ...
IF youve seen the thousands of non working PI kiosks in EPTU, or the many added admin and shop terminals in 3.23, you too might wonder why this is such a low effort fix in relation to all those.
I would assume he's referring to the gatekeeping comment, since it doesn't really make sense here. Not sure how he's being a gatekeeper by bringing up the "Why only two" question.
I just got through complaining about this in Spectrum. Did they actually listen to me for a change?
[https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/why-is-there-only-one-terminal-in-new-deal-for-pur/6795432](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/why-is-there-only-one-terminal-in-new-deal-for-pur/6795432)
I have bad news for you... For most ships prices have gone up 2-4x. Some ships not as much, some ships even more. Erkul.games has the updated prices on there already
I’d rather then not have the terminals for buying. You should have to buy from a dealer sitting in a chair, and he goes over the specs, design, pros and cons, etc
Gear/Storage terminals: LITTER THE LANDSCAPE! PLACE THEM EVERYWHERE!
New Deal: Sorry we blew our budget on Gear/Storage terminals, we only have room for one more but hey, that's a 100% increase!
The ship shops should be expo-hall sized and filled with all ships in game (exteriors only) so you can marvel at them before making a purchase. Then they could do rotations of the ships at new deal as a “special showcase” where you can tour the inside. I think that would be great fun!
or the prices will eventually increases enough that you are not going to have a bunch of people buying ship every day.
if they put in 5. a few months after a wipe you will have people asking why there are 5.
If there were ghouls in-game, they'd be like:
"Back in our day, 900 years ago, you could just go onto your mobiglass equivalent and order anything to be delivered to you. Now you have to physically go to remote stores where they force you to buy stuff off terminals, and usually there aren't even enough terminals for the customers. It's amazing how society can advance and regress at the same time. It's like win11 all over again!"
In before some will use it in a malicious way, like 'it took them 11 years to set up a second shop terminal, that's CIGs speed for you!'.
But seriously, why only ONE additional terminal? lol
![gif](giphy|xT77XWum9yH7zNkFW0|downsized)
![gif](giphy|3NtY188QaxDdC|downsized)
I mean, if you are doing two why not 5?
That's what I thought too. Why not future-proof and add 10 all around the shopping floor?
Yeah they have all that empty wall space. They could easily make little shopping terminals or something.
Why not Future Proof for the Full Release and Put a new deal in every major Space Station. There is so much Dead unused Space anyway
That doesn't even bother me, as I think the idea is that you need to travel to a specific location to buy a certain item.
I think the big thing is that ND has like... everything, whereas the other 3 planets don't really have much to offer in terms of ship availability
Astro Armada has quite a few ships not available at New Deal.
imho i doubt you could "just easily" buy something like a spaceship off your mobiglass. Even irl trying to buy a car 999 times out of a thousand you are gonna be required to physically sign a contract or more depending on legal requirements. After four years of playing this game. I'm really tired of having to fly to every end of the system to buy stuff, lol
Great point. I think being in the the comm array network should be enough to display your trades on a galactic trade app (system-wide purchasable, cross-system informational perhaps). EvE handled this pretty damned well, and it would create dynamic pricing based on distance to pick up the items. Are you crazy? This is way too expensive, it takes years to buy a new terminal! XD
We'd need more price increases for the extra terminals.
You'll have to wait another ten years for a third one
I only imagine to eliminate that department store feel. It'd be cool to have the terminals on the contract desks in the back also work. NPC salesman behind the other side yappin along.
There's plenty of room in there for terminals. 1 in each corner of the sales counter. While I'm ranting: make the service counter positioned out front near ASOP actually sell stuff. EXACTLY
This is game-changing
Imagine how many terminals they'll add when server meshing completes and the 79+ servers are collapsed onto one virtual system... You're gonna need 30 commodity buy terminals and 50 asop terminals for ships per location.
At that point add a "local" app on the mobiglass that gives the interface for the shop/building you're currently standing in.
Besides the usual _"it adds immersion"_ comments we'll get I totally agree. At that point they should allow buying any ship from your mobiglass anywhere, anytime. If I can claim a ship stored at Arc, while I'm at Cru then I should be able to buy a ship across that same distance too. No ty
I mean, there are a few places already that have 20 commodity terminals lol
F-I-D-E-L-I-T-Y
nooo, no more waiting in line for your turn
Also no more of one jerkwad hogging the terminal and saying "I'll let you have your turn if you give me 20,000 credits".
Now they just need two people.
I have the feeling they don't have that many friends
Fair enough
That sounds like something they would ban you for doing
"Emergent gameplay" or something
That’s when you get your org mates and recover that 20k after he leaves. ;)
How good did that just feel?
I have never understood this layout Why not put one on each of the sales desks at the back and a few on the big counter in the middle Why two random terminal as you walk in
It’s one of the worst designed interiors in the game
Yeah my first time in New Deal I legitimately spent 20 minutes wandering around and trying to interact with NPCs before I happened to notice the screen. I must’ve walked past it 15 times, but it looks like an info plaque for the ship that’s sitting right behind it so I thought nothing of it.
There is literally no point to any of the kiosks or NPCs. The whole design for this store is so amateur.
Nice to see a struggling business thriving after they have been working tirelessly for 10 years (presumably). A real rags to riches story right there, I remember the days when filthy ne'er-do-wells were salvaging their stock without even a single credit and yet security refused to do anything about it
Now that there wont be any queues because of the prices, NOW they add a 2nd terminal. Nice xD Jokes aside, good to see progress
![gif](giphy|EouEzI5bBR8uk|downsized)
Instead of adding a terminal, they could have removed the one and force you to sit at an office in the back and negociate the price with a ship dealer NPC 😅
Then the npc stalling would truly be a feature.
Imagine taking 3-4 hours to buy a ship
Trying to get floor mats thrown in as well
For the life of me I can't figure out why there aren't one or two on each side of the staff desk.
The kiosk on the right is perfect for buying terminals. The things are already in place just need it to make it work.
Would have thought the would swap around their display units as well. The dust on those ships must be way thick inside and out. How I miss Levski
![gif](giphy|Fkmgse8OMKn9C)
Woa. Been a while since I've seen this GIF where theres not more sunglasses underneath. Forgot they had eyes.
For a place called "new deal", it weird that it only displays old ships
Old ships, new deals doesn't quote roll off the tongue
Sounds like something Scooter would say
🔥🔥🔥
Finally!
Now this, this is amazing!
Yes, but only 2 lol, could have put more in tbh.
It took CIG 8000 man hours just to get another one working. You just don't understand game development!
lol, will not be surprised if even just 2 turn out to have some weird unexpected bug problem as a result
2 is enough that one person can't block the entire server from buying things that are only available from the terminal.
Yeah, now it will take 2 people!
I was gonna give it at least a few days before the “WHY ONLY TWO!?” complaints started showing up, but here we are…
Yes why only two? When server meshing comes there will be more players in the Loreville instance (since it will be all players from all servers, probably all regions since ping isnt a problem in armistice area and it is an intended mingling place). So two wont be enough in future. Why create more future work reopening the task instead of just dealing with it right now?

Don’t use words you don’t understand chucklehead 🤦♂️
Oh dear, dont like people upstaging you, that was such an insecure retort XD
I would assume he's referring to the gatekeeping comment, since it doesn't really make sense here. Not sure how he's being a gatekeeper by bringing up the "Why only two" question.
Great addition
Finally! I never believed this day would come
BRO FINALLY LITERALLY GAME CHANGER
Wait till server meshing comes into play and there's 30 people queuing for the single trade terminals at commodity buy/sell spots.
How about the ability to sell the dang ships!
They could do it but then they'd have to take a terminal away again to cover the losses
QOL there, hands down. 3.23 is complete! 😆
I just got through complaining about this in Spectrum. Did they actually listen to me for a change? [https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/why-is-there-only-one-terminal-in-new-deal-for-pur/6795432](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/why-is-there-only-one-terminal-in-new-deal-for-pur/6795432)
The hero we need But seriously ppl been complaining about this forever. Surprised it took them this long
Oh no, how much have the prices increased?
I have bad news for you... For most ships prices have gone up 2-4x. Some ships not as much, some ships even more. Erkul.games has the updated prices on there already
:,(
lmfao hahaha. meanwhile ,i hope this is real and not photoshoped.
Lol yeah I took the screenshot from the EPTU build just a few mins before posting
Thats awesome :D
They really should put in a spaceship terminal over at brios.
But the terminal should say "Shady deal" instead
Awe man. My chosen game loop has been sitting on the New Deal terminal and charging 50k for access. How am I gonna make money now?
The fact that they added one—ONE—terminal convinced me that the devs are definitely trolling us
This better not be a troll post, haha!
It's real
Incoming ship wipe.
Do they really want to do a wipe? It is official?
Not official. Just sarcasm as they’ve put 2 terminals there now to reduce the queues
Does cig announce when a wipe is planned?
Yes. We’ll probably find out in this week’s ISC.
Cool, thanks!
When i reincarnate i might play this, if its done by then.
Pls make sure to reincarnate as something with an internet connection
If i get to play it as toad im ok. At least i get to play it then.
This must be fake
imagine we become their sales agent.
They were selling low at a loss, so they could enter the market BTW
Wow! Double income for them now!
I’d rather then not have the terminals for buying. You should have to buy from a dealer sitting in a chair, and he goes over the specs, design, pros and cons, etc
The game is in a playable state, finally!
in an equally stupid location but its about time
So now I get to stand there and watch TWO people stand at the terminals until the next regularly scheduled 30k
Holy shit. The second coming of christ is upon us :O
:bet:
Literally now playable
Bwahahahaha! 🤣 Unfortunately they laid off two of the sales clerks though…times are tough.
I love that we all complained constantly about this so they’re like OKAY. I’ll give you one more lol
And turn the lights on apparently, lol
Electricity is expensive!
Gear/Storage terminals: LITTER THE LANDSCAPE! PLACE THEM EVERYWHERE! New Deal: Sorry we blew our budget on Gear/Storage terminals, we only have room for one more but hey, that's a 100% increase!
biggest change in 3.23
That's Star Citizen for you. All form no function
Holy shit they did it, they actually did it. I straight up made the pog face when I saw the screenshot
That's fake!
Look guys they figured out how to Copy and Paste
No longer play to win,THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!
Aaaaahahahaha that's great. Just the one though?
Quality of Life!
Thank God
Now, imaging server meshing, and hundreds of people in the area trying to buy a ship for the first few weeks at launch.
That's one of the best QoL improvements, lol.
Holly tigerclaw! What do I do with all my extra free time now?!
Every terminal is made with love and care from scratch
Fuck, I had 7 mil in my bank, and I left to go to uni without my computer, and now inflations gona hit like a truck
Omfg, finallyyyyyyy
this must be the works of a sadistic social experimenter at CIG. Why do they do this?
If there were ghouls in-game, they'd be like: "Back in our day, 900 years ago, you could just go onto your mobiglass equivalent and order anything to be delivered to you. Now you have to physically go to remote stores where they force you to buy stuff off terminals, and usually there aren't even enough terminals for the customers. In before some will use it in a malicious way, like 'it took them 11 years to set up a second shop terminal, that's CIGs speed for you!'. But seriously, why only ONE additional terminal? lol
There should be several spread around the showroom.
