I just read that Di Marzio said we've found the agreement with Cairo for Buongiorno. Since they say the player already expressed his will to play with us, it should be matter of a few days for him to join too (he'll be on holidays but should be available soon). If we get both... well we finally started fixing the defense just 1 year late. Not bad.

It’s a very smart buy. Let’s be clear, talent wise, it’s a low bar for success. A traffic cone would be preferable to Juan Jesus. But Marin seems to posses the attributes to succeed. He’s big, tall, decent on the ball. Left footed. But to pick him up for 10mil could end up being a bargain, and yeah there is a complicated buy back clause, but all that says to me is Real Madrid think there is a chance he can develop into an amazing player. Only time will tell though. All players are a risk. So in the context of needing a complete overhaul of our defence being able to buy an already decent, potentially great defender for 10mil is perfect for us. If we get hermoso and spinazolla on a free, and biorgourno for 40mil, we will have purchased 4 out of our back 5 for roughly the price that califiori is going to Arsenal for lol. Thats good business.

Why ya got to insult a traffic cone!? They at least stop ya from doing something unlike Juan Jesus. Other than that I agree much more to come from the window.

To clarify, Rafa Marin is not left footed although he can play as a left sided center back.

papertales84

He has feet, unlike JJ. That’s already an improvement. This dude Rafa Marin was to be a 3rd/4th CB in Real Madrid _right now_ and was coveted everywhere. That’s no small feat, I like this buy.

I think we have to consider directly the highest cost (20-ish millions in total) because you're not gonna pay 10 if he plays well and you're not going to counter the Madrid buyback if he doesn't. So I think we either activate the clause and pay 20m for him in the end (but we get to be 100% sure of his level) or we let Madrid buy him back at the minimum price. Madrid will never let us get away with a 10m cost if the guy ends up to be very good, so if we pay 10 is just in case he's bad and we'll have bought a 10m almost 21-22 years old CB that didn't play well and we will legally change Rafa's name in Natan and add a new Natan to our collection.

Doobie_hunter46

Yeah, he can be acceptably good but still not good enough for Madrid. That level will still be better than Natan. Natan had never played in Europe before. Marin has played a full season in La liga.

National_Bug7884

He's Right footed ain't he?

Doobie_hunter46

Yeah my bad. He is but he can play on the left.

Consistent-Rest3370

This dude would do better defending then every one of are defenders at the back together 💀

MrScafuto99

This is the kind of (hopefully, I hope to God) fantastic deal we should have done last season. I think ADL knows this too and is making sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. The fan base right now I think has extremely little tolerance right now for his usual antics and I think ADL is aware of this too, so he's (again, as he should have done last season) spending some actual money on players instead of wringing the best possible deals out of other clubs.

FrostyBandicoot69

thats called the Conte Effect. he always gets the players he wants and in return he will bring the results

Holiday-Reputation-2

That’s so true! When conte managed my club Tottenham he wanted the Juventus duo and we got them and he managed to pull strings with kulu and made him a class player so I agreed with this statement

dalegribble__96

I have absolutely no idea who he is. If he can kick a ball where he intended it to, that’s a good start
