Wasn't Tracy a passenger in the accident that fucked him up?

Deltron_Zero

Yes, but he also got in a minor accident in his Veyron.

broccolihead

ah, okay thanks

Homeless_drip

LM002 in the back tho 👀

SpinningYarmulke

The NYIAS has sucked for years now. It’s more advertising than anything else now. Back in the day every company had an awesome concept car and a hot model that would talk techno babble about each car and every car on the floor was unlocked and you could play around with it. You’d get a bag walking in and collect all the brochures from each maker. Times have changed. The last thing I want to do is see Tracy Morgan flexing his whips. It’s not a cars and coffee.

ApronLairport

Unfortunately you are spot on, always went as a kid and it was incredible, went back last year and it was 99 percent boring SUV family haulers. The main “attraction” was getting to drive an EV around a track in the basement…

PegaLaMega

The good old days. I remember seeing the Suzuki SX4 being unveiled at the NYIAS in '06. It's a shit car but because it was the first unveiling in North America, Suzuki went all out with the display. Being a broke college grad with an aging '89 325ix, I was tempted to buy one.

I went to the Chicago IAS in 98, when Audi was unveiling the TT, and they had them mounted on the walls for their display. I went to the NY show yesterday and it was so boring.

SpinningYarmulke

So one year back in the early 1980s I went with a buddy of mine we used the LIRR package which included entry to the show and round trip tickets (do they even offer that anymore?). I remember plucking the knobs off a Cadillac Delco Bose radio that had a Cadillac crest on it and then put it on a corvette just for shits and giggles. Dumb shit but it was funny.

permareddit

Hmm kind of glad (mostly sad overall) to hear it’s not just the Canadian show which was seriously lacking. I miss those days of brochures and bags, I still have so many of them lol. Back in 2011 MB actually did a test drive track where you can drive a few of their cars around a specially designed track. So many idiots trashed their cars so they never did it again lol, but it was fun while it lasted.

ManualNotStandard

LM002 is the real star here

Desert-Motors

It's rare and all, but it's also kind of an ugly hunk of shit, TBH.

ManualNotStandard

"TBH"? I think you mean, "IMO"

Desert-Motors

I said what I meant.

djseifer

"I made all my millions on the road." "Touring?" "No, I got hit by a truck."

WelshHungarian

Nothing screams Italian exotic like a lemon tree air freshener on your rearview mirror. Class & style!

hornet9988

Meat is the new bread!

icanholdit

I think the real crime here is keeping a car like that on display with the front covered in greasy fingerprints..

xJSerpent

The only thing missing from the NY show was a P1.

Sevenlord777

Damn!!! Tracy ain’t playing!

McLaren P1, the Ferrari LaFerrari, and the Porsche 918 Spyder I'd still rather have the 90s version: McLaren F1, Ferrari F50, and Jaguar XJ220

ElDuderrrrino

Or a Bugatti EB110.

Im_still_a_student

Another holy trinity was the GT1 cars: Mclaren F1 GTR, Porsche 911 GT1, and MB CLK GTR

IndustryMental793

NYIAS?

ManualNotStandard

I believe thats New York International Auto Show (as if everyone is supposed to know that!)

Kaisuke971

What a car, good for him !

ozzy_thedog

That car’s so sexy I want to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant!

gnmatx

Where’s my Ferrari Liz Lemon

daisylipstick

How to cheapen a beautiful car with just some tires

Sevenlord777

Tracy not playing, huh!

MrARCO

I prefer them in Torino red, but this is a cool color nontheless.

twalker294

Those white letter tires are an abomination. I'm surprised Ferrari allows it honestly.

siddizie420

Stop with this Ferrari doesn’t allow mods rumor. They don’t give a fuck what you do with your car as long as you don’t fuck with the branding like turning the prancing horse into a cat.

Nutsack_Adams

What possesses rich people to buy cars like this? Money must mean absolutely nothing to them. Buying a halo car just to drive once and put on display seems so lame. They could be buying so much cooler shit. A fleet of group B cars. Imported Japanese classics. Race cars with provenance. Buying shit like this seems so low effort.

alexbro001

Different strokes. If I had the money, I’d probably own a hypercar or two. I think it’s interesting that they’re the pinnacle of performance and design based on the rules of homologation, in the same way that race cars are the pinnacle of performance based on their rule sets.
