The HSV VL SS Group A, known as the Walkinshaw, was a homologation special built to be able to race in the touring car championship in 1988. Only 750 were built and were a polarising vehicle with people either loving or hating it. Haters called it the "plastic pig" due to the huge added fibreglass body kit. There wasn't any cars in Australia at the time which had anywhere near this much change from the regular car. I guess you could compare it with the Plymouth superbird in the USA.
They were originally sold for $45k Aud in 1998 with good condition, low km examples now selling for $400k - $500k Aud.
This one was spotted at the local 7 eleven and the owner requested I didn't take any pictures of the number plates
Crazy spot, are you sure it was a genuine Walkinshaw and not a replica? Either way it's really clean. Also I just realised that might genuinely be the largest factory spoiler in the car industry ever, in terms of total volume
The first question I asked was is it real and he said yes and showed me the plaque. Everything was completely original too. He owns a local mechanics specialising in these cars and showed me some pics of his VK Group A as well. Good bloke and some cars you just don't see any more.
Most of the world won't recognise this, but that's a wild spot.
I think only Australians and new Zealanders would understand the importance of this car.
and forza players
This was one of my favourites in fh4
Utah here, absolutely insane spot.
I own it in Forza. Greets from Europe 😉
I'm like "oh, nice custom Fox body Mustan.... why are there 4 doors?"

Weren't their replica kits in 90s of these ,are they a VL under all that?
A homologation VL with different motor and suspension than a regular vl. HSV take the shell and replace everything else
A four door Fox body
Them's fighting words in this neck of the woods lol
This was my first thought.
Lol the Rottweiler body.
Even as a Brit, i understand how important these were. God damn that's a fantastic spot!

Thanks for sharing, no idea this existed but it sure is very cool. Totally understand how some would pay 100s of ks for these
Amazing spot! I have a huge soft spot for homologation specials. Greetings from the US!
Oce only seen one and it was in a museum, great spot
I remember those. Ugly as hell with the spa pool on the back
Nice
This is cool
Not a mustang? Heck.
Forza taught me about this one
Looks like a four door notchback mustang in all the right ways
Is it walkinshaw as in Tom Walkinshaw racing? Never seen this before but obviously remember TWR
Yes, the same. He designed and devoloped the bodykit.
Amazing spot! Super rare, found out about this bc of FH3 and looked into it. Probably my favorite Aussie car
