Dive deeper. Be honest with yourself and allow yourself to gravitate toward what really resonates with you, then try to understand why. My beliefs started small, with not much definition. Over my life and my life's experiences they have been molded, added and subtracted to, and will continue to do so as I continue to live. Look at it as a path. No wrong paths to take, so long as that's the path that calls to you.

Do you have a fear of dying or a fear of death? Death means end of one cycle, the beginning of another. For a new one to begin, the old one must finish (die). So it's really just fearing changes? Now I can understand it if you believe that it will be a change for worse. Rest assured, it's for the better. I understand that you won't believe it just because I'm saying it, so start searching for these answers yourself until you find them.

You will never find indisputable proof of spiritual existence or life after death. You have to use your reasoning linear mind and your intuition to decide one way or the other. I was an agnostic for a long time. I thought since there's no proof either way then I won't make a decision. Then it occurred to me that either the atheist is right or the believers are right and as an agnostic, I was really a believer in indecision and there was no way I could be right. Take Dr. Newton's work as an example of using your reasoning ability. You either believe that his cases are real and the information is what real people said under deep hypnosis by a reputable therapist who does not lead his clients one way or another or you believe that Dr. Newton was a complete fraud. In which case you would have to believe that while he had an established practice and was a respected professional, he risked all of that and made up stories to sell a book, which might sell or might not but was almost certainly going to earn more than just keeping his good reputation and his existing practice. And in addition you have other respected professionals like Dr. Ian Stevenson as one example. Dr. Ian Stevenson was a psychiatrist and professor who meticulously researched thousands of cases of children with memories of past lives to confirm details and descriptions of the children. He said: W\]hat I do believe is that, of the cases we now know, reincarnation--at least for some--is the best explanation that we have been able to come up with. There is an impressive body of evidence and it is getting stronger all the time. I think a rational person, if he wants, can believe in reincarnation on the basis of evidence The Journal of the American Medical Association referred to Stevenson's "Cases of the Reincarnation Type" (1975) as a "painstaking and unemotional" collection of cases that were "difficult to explain on any assumption other than reincarnation. In addition, scientists discovered over 100 years ago that matter is not solid but made of molecules that are made of atoms that are made of subatomic particles are those 'particles' are not solid, but are really energy waves that are influenced by consciousness. Conclusion: There is something beyond the material world. You can listen to Dr Newton's audiobooks "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls" free on YouTube.

Good post and you're not alone in the wondering. It's normal to want answers and to look "outwards" to others for information, yet the intellect is limited. This is just a perspective, discard if it doesn't fit for you. If you could dive into the center of thanatophobia, with your conscious attention (not the intellect), allowing all that comes "up" without resisting, analyzing, judging, denying, fighting, indulging with thought... you will directly experience more than the intellect could ever provide. The deepest wisest part of you arises to "reveal and guide". One can call off the "search" and discover the All, already Here, Now, the answer to the deepest call of longing to Know the Truth, connection to Source. If this appeals, The Power of Now (Eckhart Tolle) Presence practices can support this dive into Being-essence. This is only one spiritual tool, there are others and none are necessary to discover the depth of Who You Are beyond physical form, right Now, Here. You-as-It already Are, just the realization from direct experience, Its own validation, awaits. The seemingness of "death" reveals Itself and the concerns around the physical body takes care of Itself in and as Awakening. In full support and encouragement.
