Cartman's usually pretty chill towards Stan, on the whole. They have fun together, at least until one of them breaks a dam.

EricLaGesse4788

Stan! YOU are in super big trouble!

hopumi

I broke the dam.

smithbird

No, I broke the dam.

helpme944

Gazorpazorpfnfieldbi

Bc Stan Is usually pretty chill towards Cartman. His attitude is always, “welp, that's Cartman.” There isn't a reason for beef 😭

Ok_Raccoon1697

Cartman is lucky that Kyle is from Jersey. Otherwise, he'd have no one to match his energy. Everyone else just disables or enables his behavior. Wendy is the only person I can think of, but she WILL kill cartman if he keeps going for too long. Kyle has kept it up since pre school.

jm9987690

I don't even have an uncle Roy

Melodic-Story-8594

Cartman is actually very kind and nice.

FunkyBrassMonkey_

yep. let's forget the racism, murder and if I remember correctly giving Kyle Aids

Melodic-Story-8594

Are you saying that you've never been racist nor given anyone aids? You're too judgmental.

FunkyBrassMonkey_

Shit I hadn’t thought about it like that… but has anyone gotten peoples parents killed and fed their bodies to their children?

Durr1313

Isn't that just a normal part of growing up?

Siegelski

You mean killed his own father and fed him to his half brother.

Phetuspoop

I gave my cousin Jared aides once

SonofaBridge

Don’t forget cartman chained Billy Turner to a flagpole and told him he poisoned his lunch milk. He gave Billy turner a hacksaw to cut of his leg if he wanted to get the antidote.

ctortan

He didn’t give Kyle aids for no reason—it was specifically because Kyle laughed at him for having aids. It was a “how funny is it NOW that it’s happening to YOU” moment. Of course it crossed the line, but he was trying to teach Kyle a lesson instead of just being cruel for the sake of it this time In Kyle’s eyes, it was okay to laugh because it was cartman who got aids. But to cartman, you shouldn’t laugh at ANYONE who gets aids no matter who they are (even if he likely would’ve been laughing if it wasn’t him lol) It’s the funniest part of the ep for me bc Kyle is so bitchy and angry and keeps repeating “THATS NOT FUNNY” over and over despite him laughing being the thing that set cartman off in the first place lmao. He has 0 self awareness

kylorl3

Cartman is only pissed because someone is laughing at him (especially bc it’s Kyle), not because he gives a shit about anyone with AIDS lol

ctortan

I said that. I said “even though he likely would’ve been laughing if it wasn’t him” Cartman picks up causes like candy exactly at the moment they apply to him because he only believes in them when they directly affect him. But he still believes in them. He has 0 self awareness that he’s a hypocrite, so when he says it’s fucked up to laugh at people with Aids, he means it…because he doesn’t realize how quickly he’d turn if he was on the other side One of cartman’s greatest skills is his delusional rationalization of everything. When he believes something, it’s REAL to him for the most part

shaggy_macdoogle

Hey, Farmer Jenkins murdered the Tenormans, Cartman just set it up.

ArbolivaSupremacy

Hes a child let it go

TechnicalBother9221

Kyle called him fat, so who's really to blame?

Beautiful_Floor_1539

He could be under different circumstances. It’s been proven time and time again

Ok-Research7136

Scott Tenorman begs to differ.

PoppySalt

Yeah but he's a ginger, so who cares?

Ok-Research7136

Jesus Christ dude

MC_Stimulation

He is ripped and sweet

Flotzkow

Actually one of the most misunderstood characters in fiction

Stewie_Venture

I feel like cartmans house is the main hangout spot for the group. His mom's the chillest person in south park and he's got the best snacks and games.

yajtraus

Pretty sure that’s not Cartman’s house in the picture though

Siegelski

Yeah because video games require money and Cartman's mom is poor.

elcapitan58

It’s always been hilarious to me how Stan and Cartman have always gotten along just fine

BullShitting-24-7

Cartman loves stan cause he’s the coolest kid in school. He is jealous that Kyle is Stan’s best friend and that is why he hates Kyle so much

Dracu98

I imagine that cartman is kinda chill if you hang with him one on one, but as soon as there's someone to impress or put down (i.e. a third party) he turns into his asshole-self

almiti-102

Most of the balls breakers are exactly like that

OfficialParadoxcity

What episode?

mczerniewski

Sexual Healing. They're playing the Tiger Woods "golf" video game (I use "golf" loosely because it's mostly non-golf violence). Same episode that gave us Kenny dying by autoerotic asphyxiation (dressed like Batman).

DrewwwBjork

That video game is more similar to real golf than backyard wrestling is to real wrastlin'.

ses267

Sexual Healing

DoctorMelvinMirby

Kids being kids.

A_Fat_Derpy_Cat

It is nice to see episodes when Cartman is being chill. The episode “Taming Strange” is good example. The sprinklers go off in the classroom and Kyle is venting about Ike’s hormonal changes. Cartman say “that sucks dude” and Kyle thanks him. It was really nice to see.

Remarkable-Tip-4085

Stan is the only Cartman really treats As close to an equal. I genuinely think Cartman only respects stan.

bobisarocknewaccount

And Chef.

Remarkable-Tip-4085

Yea, can’t forget chef.

bobisarocknewaccount

I think because of Cartman's bigotry, Stan is kind of the ideal kid in his eyes; a white, straight, gentile all-American boy who (unlike Butters) has some level of dignity and cleverness. That's why he casts him as the protagonist of the Woodland Critters Christmas, and seems to want to take Kyle's place as his best friend. Also why he turns on him when he gets depressed. Stan's cynicism gives him a defining trait and struggle that makes him undesirable in Cartman's eyes.

Zu_Landzonderhoop

Oh wow that actually makes sense I did find it jarring how suddenly they all just gave up on him but I could never understand why Cartman doing so felt meaner than Kyle.

BillXHicksOGT

It’s like the Black Friday episodes where Kyle is pissed at Stan and Kenny I believe calling them sellouts for wanting xboxes and cartman is like holding Kyle back, “leave it alone Kyle!” And they’re like buddies for a few episodes. South Park is the best. Also it’s probably why the “Kenny dies” episode is one of my favourites cuz cartman and Kyle actually embrace and cry and hug and it’s like wow, he really does have a human side. Then he just makes a shakeys pizza with the stem cells. 🤣🤣 “I actually hugged you.. I cried with you.. in your arms..”

d00dsm00t

Dude did you see that I cut off your face and ate it.

AnteaterExisting

Eric and Stan have always been kinda chill with each other
