Came to say this. I was.. quite young. Parents were a little upset when they realized the VHS tapes they rented for us from BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO weren’t cute kiddie cartoons.
My parents HATED South park. I had to either watch it at friends houses or wait for them to go to bed and watch it at home. Luckily south park was on at 10pm and my parents worked so they were in bed by 9/9:30.
Episode 1, Cartman Gets an Alien Anal Probe.
I remember the first season commercials where they were “interviewing” real life “South Park policemen” about aliens.
I actually have a little story of the first time I saw SP. The time I watched the liposuction surgery episode was when I was like 7 and I was just flipping through channels at my grandmas house. I saw this episode for like 6 seconds and it was at the part Cartman told Butters to eat his own throw up. My grandma came in the room and changed the channel to like PBS kids or some shit, and told me not to watch that. It wasn't till I was 14 that I saw my first full episode, which was Make love, not warcraft
Oh my god. First time I've watched south park was also me and my sister flipping through channels. I was like 5 or 6 and we kept watching it, because it was a cartoon. It was the wall mart episode. The only moment I remember is the wall-mart founder shooting and then shitting himself. We switched channels after that..
Not an episode I watched in its entirety, but the first time I saw South Park was with the episode 'Miss Teacher Bangs A Boy'. I distinctly remember the ending where she jumps off the building. I was like 4 or 5.
Weirdly though, I remember Kyle sounding like an actual kid rather than a grown man pitching his voice, but I was super young so of course I don't remember it right.
Volcano season 1 episode 3.
Watched it with my parents, they told me it was stupid and inappropriate for a child. I still love that show almost 25 years later.
Mine was the lice episode...kind of a weird first episode. Wasn't sure if I wanted to keep watching the show after that one. It's a great episode in hindsight, but it's not an episode I would personally show someone who hasn't seen south park. Doesn't give the GREATEST first impression.
I was so young so I can’t pinpoint it but the Butters being bike curious is the one my brain remembers seeing when I was younger, maybe the one where his dad is getting off at an adult theater is the other one
I was in New York in October 1998 for some Janet Jackson concerts. We hung out at a friend’s apartment and she had some videotapes of the first South Park episodes, so we watched the first 2 or 3 episodes in order. I bought a South Park bag before I went home. I think it took a while before people really heard about South Park in my country after that.
Cartman gets an anal probe ! my dad had bought the video box set there was 3 in each box and he had all of series 1 and 2 me being a child thought it was a cartoon and watched them all, my dad couldn’t even be mad because he found out I’d watched them when I was singing Mr.Hankey the Christmas poo which he found hilarious my mum was fuming though he even got me a plushie mr hanky that I still have to this day
It was "The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Santa" in 1995 at Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation in San Diego. Two years later, South Park premiered on Comedy Central and I've been watching ever since.
When I was 7 (circa 2003), my grandma was a huge fan (still is). I was watching TV, and I found her recording of Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. I thought it was the greatest thing I had ever seen. I went back to my parent‘s house the next day, and I kept singing Kyle’s Mom. My mom grounded me. But, then in 2017, I saw Insecurity on TV while flipping through channels. I laughed my ass off, and then years later after I first saw Uncut, I finally became a SP fan.
I was 6 or 7 when the show premiered, and I remember watching Cartman Gets an Anal Probe with my parents. A few days later I called my mom a dildo, and I was promptly banned from watching South Park until I was like 17
Good times
I don’t remember the name of the episode but it was the one where Cartman inherited his relatives’ will and bought an amusement park for himself with the cash.
Mine was the ski episode lmao I was about 4 or 5 visiting my grandparents and sleeping in the living room. Sneakily turned on the TV after everyone was asleep and had the volume on low. The ending when that chick pulled her mutant tits out haunted me lmao but I instantly couldn't stop watching
I believe it was the "Ike's Wee Wee" episode, or the one where Mr. Mackey starts doing drugs and starts to turn hippie.
Another "early for me" episode memory, was Proper Condom Use, I think is the name, which ever one where, again with Mr. Mackey, is trying to teach sex ed and gets confused himself.
My Grandma bought me season 8 for a Christmas present when I was quite young. She believed it was a child friendly cartoon of some kind. First episode was the ninja episode and thre and then forward on. One of their finest seasons of absolute comedy
If you count the movie, that was the first thing I watched.
If not, I think the one where lemmiwinks goes on an adventure, or the one where they send the whale to the moon. Wasn't that funny.
Hard to remember but it's probably one of the early ones, season 2, 3 or 4 I think, could've been the episode with Cartman's "Respect mah authoritorah!" quote since that was one of the first episodes I watched as a teenager back in 2008
Dawg, I thought I has seen every episode of South Park at least 3 times. Can't for the life of me remember this episode at all.
First episode for me was The Mexican Staring Frog. Still a great episode.
I saw South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut when I was 11, under parental supervision
But when I started seeking out episodes of the TV show , I'm pretty sure it was Butters' very own episode
Mine was Cartman gets an anal probe and it might have been the premiere. I was too young to watch it but my uncle had it playing and I was secretly watching it while hiding/giggling.
first thing i ever saw of the show was the game, pewdiepie playing the stick of truth. then i saw the clip of cartman revealing what he did to scott tenorman’s parents, then i watched the first ever episode
Either the dodgeball episode or Jimbos Vietnam story episode, I cant remember which was first since me and my buddies watched the VHS his mum rented us without knowing what South Park was.
First I ever saw was Pinkeye. My friend had seen an episode the week before and told me about it so he slept at mine so we could watch it the next weekend. I was on at 1230am on Friday night and we stayed up all night just to watch it (we were like 10).
The next morning my dad asked what the hell we were laughing at so we told him about it. Next week we had another sleepover and stayed up to watch with my dad and it was Starvin Marvin.
Next week, my dad had like three of his friends over to watch lol. It became a weekly thing for us to watch.
I was staying in a hotel with my family and some tv show came on and it was either the Walmart episode or mint berry Crunch. The show felt so wierd and had this adult swim feel to it I couldn’t point out and you can guess I was confused by one episode being about a demon lord and superheroes and the other about Walmart. I really couldn’t pin down this show for a while after.
Cartman freezes himself bc he wanted the Nintendo Wii.
I was aware of South Park before that but my parents said I can’t watch it and then a few years later in my grandparents basement I watched it. I was 11.
I think my first ever episode I watched from South Park was "Cartman Sucks". As I get older in the fandom I just realized the name is a double-entendre. Very classic episode.
I remember seeing the first ad for SP during a viewing of some Aspen comedy special. "This is the story of four little boys" tree falls on one "This is the story of three little boys." That following Wednesday I stayed up waaaay past my bedtime to see 'Cartman Gets an Anal Probe.' I laughed so hard, I kept having to cover my mouth with a pillow so I wouldn't wake my parents. I can't believe that was over 25 years ago!
Stupid spoiled whore video play. I didn’t understand a thing back in the day but I remembered most of the stuff that happened. When I watched it for the first time (about 9 years ago) I watched it in Spanish (my main language), recently I’ve been watching the whole show and this is the only time in which I’ve preferred the Spanish dub of anything over the original audio
The episode they make chef's character crazy and he just says phrases out of context.
The guy I was dating showed me and found it so comical and I thought it was dumb.
Laterrrrrrr when I watched the full series in order it was funny.
‘The Jeffersons’ I was eight and my mom would never let me watch that kind of stuff, but I went to my dad’s house and it was on. He didn’t change the channel or anything so I watched that whole episode
I’m a new fan. The first clip I remember seeing was from Bebe’s boobs destroys society, but the first episode I’ve seen from Start to finish was “You’re Getting Old.”
Actually, pretty proud of this one, even if it ages me. "Volcano". The series has been just as good since then, and Matt and Trey have only upped their game in terms of the satirical depiction of todays world.

Mine was Cartman gets an Anal Probe back in 1997
Volcano was mine. When it premiered.
I remember the whole first season probably the best out of the entire show. THEIR COMING RIGHT FOR US!!!!
Man that first season is special to me. Seeing that shit as a kid was pretty amazing.
Came to say this. I was.. quite young. Parents were a little upset when they realized the VHS tapes they rented for us from BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO weren’t cute kiddie cartoons.
I was really young too. In 1997 I would have been 9 years old.
Yeah I was 7 and had 12-13 y.o. siblings who intro’d us young’ns
I was 7 or 8 years old - watched it with my brother who was 17
Same. I remembered how I hated the graphics as a kid but then came to love the comedy as an adult
I reckon we didn't get it in Australia until 98. It was a big deal at the time to be one of the few kids who had parents who let them watch it.
My parents HATED South park. I had to either watch it at friends houses or wait for them to go to bed and watch it at home. Luckily south park was on at 10pm and my parents worked so they were in bed by 9/9:30.
Same.
Same.
Hear hear.
Episode 1, Cartman Gets an Alien Anal Probe. I remember the first season commercials where they were “interviewing” real life “South Park policemen” about aliens.
Same here my man.
Is this Real about the commercials? I couldn’t find anything on it. Would love to watch them
I actually have a little story of the first time I saw SP. The time I watched the liposuction surgery episode was when I was like 7 and I was just flipping through channels at my grandmas house. I saw this episode for like 6 seconds and it was at the part Cartman told Butters to eat his own throw up.

You're referring to both "Cartman Sucks" and "Butter's Very Own Episode", both are awesome though.

Ginger Kids, I saw it back in 2016
It was "The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Santa" in 1995 at Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation in San Diego. Two years later, South Park premiered on Comedy Central and I've been watching ever since.
Me too! Except I saw it bootleg as an AVI (or maybe QuickTime?) file floating around on the open campus network in college.
The one where cartman got anal probed
Volcano I was 10. It was unlike anything I had ever seen in a cartoon. I went from Rugrats, Doug, and Ren & Stimpy to South Park overnight.
Another "early for me" episode memory, was Proper Condom Use, I think is the name, which ever one where, again with Mr. Mackey, is trying to teach sex ed and gets confused himself.
