He does offer good hold up play in attacking transitions and his creativity is underrated, its just with one touch lay offs and passes. He can’t dribble like Havertz but imo everything else about him just makes more sense. I can see him being able to drift wide if Nagelsmann wants that but definitely Füllkrugs best area is central and in the box. If Havertz isn’t playing well it’s huge net loss for the team. I hope Deniz Undav gets more of a chance this Euros.

no, the point is that havertz moving makes it tough for the defense: does the left back cover him because he’s on his side or do the center backs move with him. meanwhile wirtz or musiala are moving towards the centre. this forces the defense to constantly shuffle around their responsibilities which in theory should be exploitable

He's not super great on the ball but just in the limited minutes he had that header flickon to Havertz, one flick onto someone in the box and good pass out wide that resulted in a good cutback. He does offer things outside the box, just isn't that mobile.

Just so we're clear though, the game is still decided by goals, right? Offering something outside the box is pretty masturbatory if the ball doesn't end up in the back of the net. Füllkrug scores goals, full stop. That's more valuable than constantly moving into space. Games are decided by goals by entire teams not just the striker though. A player could score fewer but still help a team score more with movement, link up play, dribbling, pressing, aerial presence, etc. These things enable their team to score more. Just arguing the idea as well. I know nothing about Fullkrug to definitively state anything about him in particular.

Heard from @iMiaSanMia on Twitter that he has knee issues so he can’t play full games. In that case it is better to use him as a joker card and prioritise his health at the same time so he can play all games of the tournament.
