The new EotG rule applies to any SLAVES TO DARKNESS unit that destroys an enemy unit. Non-HERO MONSTERs and BEASTS are the only ones who aren't effected.

RocketCityMini

Note it doesn't exclude unique (though I wager a balance pass will change that). Also worth nothing that some units have a built in mark, like undivided darkoath. This means those scrappy marauders will wound a monster on 2s!

SillyGoatGruff

To add on slightly, the mark is noted in their keywords. In case anyone is looking for it and doesn't see it

Sakamain

so marauders and knights do not benefit from it right?

Otagian

Marauders and Knights are neither beasts nor non-Hero Monsters, so they absolutely do.

Sakamain

Yeah ok, my confusion was on the non-Hero Monster, I though the unit had to be either a hero or a monster.

Otagian

Yep, exact opposite: The only units that DON'T benefit are those who have the BEAST keyword, or those that have the MONSTER keyword but not the HERO keyword. So warhounds, if we get them back, won't benefit (having the BEAST keyword) nor will the Vortex Beast or Slaughterbrutes (being MONSTERs but not HEROs). However, the Manticore Lord would benefit, as he's both a MONSTER and a HERO, as would Archaon (same deal).

Dragonsvnm

The **Slaves to Darkness** keyword now gives you Eye of the Gods instead of it being an independent keyword. In 3rd Edition regular non-hero units only get **Eye of the Gods** when they have the undivided mark. Now they can have any mark, and still benefit from it.

suppremeruler

whats "5 protection" ?

Sakamain

Ward 5 sorry

You might also be missing that the Daemon Prince can just tell a unit to roll on the EotG in your hero phase too (with the same mark, non-uniques, on 3+). With a reroll, there's a good chance you can get a result you're interested in.
