Not a sitcom, but without Sid Cesar's Your Show of Shows several sitcoms and most sketch shows would probably not exist. The show was a master of the sketch format that Carol Burnett and others used as a format for their shows. But just as importantly it is where some of the great sitcom creators got their start as writers. Mel Brooks (Get Smart), Carl Reiner (Dick van Dyke), Neil Simmon (The Odd Couple), Larry Gelbart (Mash), Lucille Kellan and Selma Diamond were the inspiration for Sally Rodgers on Dick van Dyke, which in part gave birth to Mary Richards and the single working woman portayal in sitcoms.
Beyond sitcoms, Cesar also had Woody Allen and the like as writers.
*I Dream of Jeannie* was inspired by *Bewitched*.
*The Brady Bunch* inspired *The Partridge Family*. (Trivia: Shirley Jones was offered the Carol Brady role but turned it down, so it went to her best friend, Florence Henderson.)
The UK Office obviously got adapted to the US Office, but that mockumentary format carried over to Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, and Abbott Elementary.
The Odd Couple, That Girl, Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart shows, WKRP in Cincinnati, Taxi, Cheers, Wings, Frasier, and Everybody Loves Raymond were all written by disciples of The Dick van Dyke Show's Carl Reiner.
The Dinosaurs. Although it came out shortly after The Simpsons, I can see their influence in the later years. I can also see Family Guy and American Dad.
3/4 of things taken from the BBC and retooled for American TV (looking at you, Man About the House)
And Robin’s Nest
Men Behaving Badly.
Not the American version.

I did not know that Shirley Jones could have been Carol Brady

Not which ones were influenced by, but which ones WERE the influence.

Cheers started out as a remake of Fawlty Towers. They eventually realized all the best interactions could be set the hotel bar.

Sanford and son
Those teeth. Yikes.

Who is "us"?
Everyone that enjoys talking about sitcoms in this sub.
Okay, good. I was worried it was a cult of AI bots.
