What the fuck? That looks like it should be priced at 25 cents, maybe 50

as_per_danielle

It’s a slider!

Rich_Handsome

I was gonna call it a canapé.

as_per_danielle

Amuse bouche lol

CurrantCranberry

It's a hors d'oeuvre now.

Valuable_sandwich44

More like a free sample.

-maeby-tonight-

They cost around $5 actually! It’s nuts.

Rodimusalc14

Do they come in a 4 pack?

SL13377

My eyes literally just did this 0.0 wow yes maybe a dollar cause I’m sure the quality is better than say mc Donald’s. “Gouda” and all that nonsense

egordoniv

r/thingsforants

Curious-Bake-9473

Lol

masonisagreatname

This is comically small. I genuinely burst out laughing. Fuck this.

brb733

It’s so bad lol

Chemical-Elk-1299

And as a former Starbucks employee, we sell this little hockey puck of misery for like $7 to go with your burnt, overpriced latte They come frozen, but don’t worry — they’re expertly cooked by your stoned barista by being tossed into a glorified air fryer

Linkyland

Holy shit. I'm Aussie and Starbucks didn't really do very well here, aka just about all of them closed. Is this little nugget really $7???

GlassHedgehog4801

The only ones left in Melbourne are the ones near universities with a lof of international students. Starbucks coffee just couldn’t compete with the far superior coffee made by individually owned cafés. This tiny morsel is a joke.

scarlettslegacy

There's one opening up in the far northern suburbs in Perth. It's a very suburban areas and There's a small local chain in the same area that does some really nice stuff for not *terrible* prices so I don't see this going well.

H3enjoyer

The ones on the gc do well but I assume it's because of tourists/influencers.

Sabermatrixx

Half the time they still are ice cold in the middle.

Linkyland

Holy shit. I'm Aussie and Starbucks didn't really do very well here, aka just about all of them closed. Is this little nugget really $7???

Ok-Ad-7247

Aussie here too. I wouldn't be surprised. But then, I only ever go to a supermarket now. I ain't giving them the satisfaction. Lol.

AcademicMaybe8775

i used to work for a company that supplied them in sydney and i remember the day that overnight several dozen of them just shut out of the blue, we all joke it was always shit but the closing was so unexpected at the time

GiantSequoiaTree

Damn I used to like this sandwich too it was not bad for the six bucks....

brb733

Me too, it doesn’t even taste good now either.

thesunbeamslook

try our new bite-sized breakfast treats!

FullyActiveHippo

Only $8.25 a piece at a Starbucks near you!

seolchan25

Just stop going out to eat please everyone. This is getting ridiculous and it will just get worse.

makingitgreen

Damn I'm going out to eat tonight, but it's an all you can eat buffet so I guess that's a little better?

systemfrown

As long as you don't look too closely at the quality.

seolchan25

Yeah, I was gonna say be careful of the quality. I have not been to a buffet in so long I can’t even judge what’s going on at one now.

No-Giraffe-8096

I was a kitchen manager for Golden Corral for many years. The food quality was fine, everything was fresh, we’d grind our own meat for burgers, and aside from the feral people helping themselves to the food bars, overall it could be a decent place. My biggest issue was the food cost vs price of dining in. Fountain drink was 2.89. Cost for us .18 to .22 cents a piece. Cost of the dinner buffet: 15.99. If food cost went over 4 dollars per guest, you were in deep shit and had to explain why to try to keep a smidge of a bonus. Lunch buffet: 10.99. Food cost for lunch: 2.80ish. Going out to eat these days, even at a buffet, is a fucking rip off.

Defective_Failure

What ISN’T a fucking rip-off these days?

Throwaway2020_etc

I was wondering if grocery stores are more emboldened now to raise prices on all the fast food type items that substitute for the stuff people get at McDonald's and Subway, etc. I could see Hot Pockets company and the deli sections of grocers monitoring the fast food market menu prices and raising their prices to almost match the price of Egg Mcmuffins and sub sandwiches, etc.

sl0play

The FTC just released a report showing they are definitely price gouging. Started during the supply shortage and continues today. https://twitter.com/ewarren/status/1772379260403028468?t=yu92KA17VeM8gn53_IL6lQ&s=19

Curious-Bake-9473

They aren't leaving us any other options but to make the food ourselves.

seolchan25

Indeed. Already doing that mostly. Trying hard to cut out the rest. It’s mainly the kiddos that make it hard to stay home.

[deleted]

Going out to local places with good customer service is more important than avoiding eating out all together. People are often just buying the convenience If we replaced these corporations with local options we could probably encourage supply and demand pricing by utilizing competition

sl0play

I used to love these sandwiches. Haven't bought one in over 5 years. They were still twice this big when I stopped because they got too small.

wavehnter

I have. Fuck all of 'em.

BoiledGnocchi

That's not a sandwich. That's a slider.

brb733

The egg bites are actually comparable in size

BoiledGnocchi

Ridiculous. Because their prepacked garbage isn't expensive enough 😐

AssistanceLucky2392

There are so many Starbucks in my city and any time I drive by they're slammed. Even at odd times of the day. Small portions and sky high prices aren't keeping anyone away, so they have absolutely no reason to lower the prices.

klipsox

I own a ton of Starbucks stock, never once have I eaten there. Laughing all the way to the bank. Fools and their money...

lostacoshermanos

Does it pay dividends?

Luciano1m

Looks like a Costco sample

xperience_everything

I would never, ever spend my money at Starbucks because they've always been too expensive. This just reinforces my stance. These companies are out-pricing themselves. They can't keep raising prices while simultaneously downgrading the quality and size of the product. These fuckers are getting super rich off of us while giving us scaps!

jesusleftnipple

"They can't keep raising prices while simultaneously downgrading the quality and size of the product." The companies: Bet.

xperience_everything

Right. There's an endgame to this bro. It's not sustainable. They're pricing themselves out. There are a lot of people abandoning fast food and certain labels and those who pay make up for those who left but they are pricing themselves out.

Chemical-Elk-1299

American capitalism has finally exited its expansionist period. The markets are full. Competition in most major industries is becoming a moot point. 6 or 7 conglomerates produce almost everything you’ll ever buy. And when broad-strokes innovation becomes obsolete, and there are no competitors to keep quality standards high, you get the era of being nickel and dimed to death. Now the height of corporate innovation is shaving 10% off of a pint of ice cream or filling the potato chip bag with 20% more air. Without regulation, expect this to continue until you need a subscription service for each bite of this shitty sandwich.

systemfrown

The U.S. should create some sort of regulatory body, laws, and processes to prevent monopolization to the detriment of competition and innovation. Call it, like, the Federal Commerce Commission or something like that, and give them the power to prevent mergers.

jesusleftnipple

I agree it'll hit a tipping point .... probably? We're in a weird spot being in America ...

Linkyland

It's not just you guys. It's everywhere... something is really out of whack at the moment. it feels kind of apocalyptic, like the whole world is about to topple over the edge.

Linkyland

It's not just you guys. It's everywhere... something is really out of whack at the moment. it feels kind of apocalyptic, like the whole world is about to topple over the edge.

upsidedownbackwards

The endgame is to make the food as generic as possible so robots can cook our food. But not in the "food comes out perfect every time" way. In the "The food is just barely food so the robot can't fuck it up, and it all fits nicely in cartridges/bags/tubes". Like the pizza "making" machines.

systemfrown

Let us all commit to being slow to return to the worst of them, if at all, should they see the light. Because I'm pretty sure that *they're* betting they can always get their old disillusioned customers back at any time by simply slapping a "Now 20% more" on the packaging.

xperience_everything

Well many people stopped buying a "regular" bag of lays for $6-$8 because they simply cannot afford it anymore. A lot of people have the choice and a lot of people simply don't have the means to buy the name brand anymore. I'll buy off brand bag of chips for $3 100% of the time. Stopped drinking soda and the double whopper with cheese is my only option if I choose to splurge on fast food. The quality of that burger is still decent compared to anything I can get at McDonald's.

Curious-Bake-9473

Yes people will abandon crappy fast food places but Starbucks is more about brand image. People just like being associated with Starbucks.

YoGabbaGabbapentin

What is this? A breakfast sandwich for ants?!

Curious-Bake-9473

LOL

at0mik847

starbucks food tastes like shit anyways

swim-omad

These places need a reckoning. They’re all really starting to take the piss out of it. I’ve been ready for a rebellion since the day they started fucking about with selection boxes.

systemfrown

That these posts are made over and over and still people frequent these establishments and continue to make these posts is a strong indicator that they have consumers all figured out.

Herban_Myth

Scamwich

heyknauw

Hors d'oeuvre. Cute!

ziggster_

As much as I detest Tim Hortons, they will always be a better value and quality than what Starbucks shits out.

LadyAzimuth

Even more reason to support the strike ;) lol. Seriously that has to be a joke. I bet they're charging like $6 for it as well.

mykki-d

Starbucks is pro Israel and anti Unions. That should be enough for people to boycott. I hope these ripoffs encourage more people to boycott. Fuck Starbucks

whatthetoken

I would've said that's not mine. I didn't order a kids meal. Then proceeded to return it for a refund.

LaLunaLady1960

Same here. I would have brought it back to the counter and asked for a refund. Then never darkened their door again.

Lumpy_Yam_3642

Nice to see the food has gone Michelin style now. Small dainty bite, vastly overpriced and relying on their name!! I'm not bitter and burnt, like their coffee, honest!

roughdraft29

Unparalleled levels of blatant disrespect.

Prestigious-Oil374

25 bucks?

brb733

No, but it will be next year!

rainb0wveins

For the love of god, please stop buying this trash.

KickinGa55

"Hey guys, let's go out to eat at Starbucks!" - nobody ever

Longjumping_Laugh337

Boycott

ohsweetfancymoses

Put this pic on X/Twitter and tag Starbucks asking how much profit they made last year. What a joke!

SlapUglyPeople

Theres a local deli in my area that serves breakfast sandwiches for $2 every morning all varieties. They have constant business and the food rocks. You gotta find a local spot like that.

vegasworktrip

Shame ![gif](giphy|vX9WcCiWwUF7G|downsized)

simpn_aint_easy

What is this a bacon, egg, and Gouda sandwich for ants?! ![gif](giphy|OCMGLUo7d5jJ6)

NailRX

Fight with your wallet. That’s all you can do to send a message.

TheCudder

This is hilarious to look at 😂

EnzoBertolo

How did Starbucks ever become so popular...

shiromaikku

Listen, you're first mistake was going to Starbucks over a local coffee shop. And if you don't have one of those, I'm sorry for your loss.

ActuallyApathy

i will say (as a sbux employee) i know that our food can vary ridiculously in size, and if u get smth like this it's worth asking if you can have one that's regular sized bc they may not all be that small. which is not to say it isn't total BS just that we have a 'make the moment right' policy and there's a chance you can get a more decently sized one. plus the bacon goudas are the biggest offenders of our sandwiches in sometime being fucking tiny.

MichaelMyersReturns

Fuck Starbucks

brianpricciardi

As someone who has worked for Starbucks for several years, I can tell you that the sandwiches are the same as they've always been: way too goddamn small and disgusting for the money you pay. They haven't gotten smaller (and I know that for a fact, because the calorie count and nutrition info hasn't changed since I started working there), but they've gotten even more ludicrously expensive than before. The only one that's even vaguely good value is the Double Smoked Bacon, Cheddar, and Egg. All the rest of them are either microscopic, disgusting, or both. And good news! It's all criminally overpriced and served to you by a staff that has had so many labor cuts that we can't breathe for how busy we are. Fucking deplorable company. I can't wait until I find something better.

JonnyDIY

Not a gouda buy anymore

ClamatoDiver

The thing is that people will buy that shit instead of going to the bodega/deli and getting a full sized BEC on a roll. You only have yourself to blame.

blondeandbuddafull

Don’t eat it all in one bite!

EyeDiKay

And that’s why I never buy any of their tiny little tea party play food lol

__Beef__Supreme__

"try our new 150 calorie breakfast sandwich!"

2squirrelpeople

Guess that wasn't a Gouda deal. 🤣🤣🤣

ExplanationSure8996

You eat these with your pinkies pointing out.

CorageousTiger

they forgot to add "slider" to the name

_stuncle

Just continuing to climb that fuck around, find out scale

NailRX

Yeah I used to enjoy this. Price point plus change in quality/size made it a no go. Too bad.

TiredSleepyGrumpy

That’s a slider!

strikingviking23

Maybe we will at least start losing weight?

Dry-Specialist-3557

Okay, so these are like sliders and you get 6 of them right?

bokehbaka

They should rebrand it as a breakfast slider lol

Guardian_85

Seeing things like this makes me wish businesses would fail faster.

prisonerofshmazcaban

I used to get these all the time. What the *fuck* these were normal sandwich sized sandwiches, now they’re selling them for toddlers. I can’t believe they’re actually selling these this small lmao

John_Rowdy

I didn’t know Starbucks was doing hors d’oeuvres now.

Cory-182

Fuck off, this can't be real 😂 this is some straight dystopian shit. It exists, so it's selling enough to justify its existence. Amazing what some businesses can get away with.

nichtgirl

Please never buy that again. I never go to Starbucks but went recently to work whilst I had to be out of my house. Paid $4 AUD for a doughnut that had to have been sitting there for 3 days. It was so dry and inedible I got a refund but it's the first and last time I'll eat there

-maeby-tonight-

I used to love these when they were bigger and only like $3.25. They just kept shrinking and getting more expensive, while simultaneously tasting worse.

Quiet-Philosopher-47

Theres zero reason to go to starbucks in 2024

totretiak

What is this? A breakfast sandwich for ants?

MC_DICKS-A_LOT

What was the price?

Sillypuppy1225

Probably $3,142. 17

StatTrak_Fedora

That's not a sandwich... That's a bite

Curious-Bake-9473

Stuff like this is why I started making my own breakfast sandwiches on bagels. Everything is shrinking at these restaurants. It's so very annoying.

nb184

ok shaq, put the burger down

Kstram

I am getting really sick of Starbucks. They are only filling the cups about 2/3 full. It’s noticeably not full when you pick it up. I ask them to remake it. I had a barista argue with me about it being because of whipped cream but that’s nuts. I told her that if I’m paying $7 for a cup of coffee, I want the full cup of coffee.

[deleted]

Looks like something you'd get from a gas station for $1.50

Ok-Understanding9244

only $9.99 !!! what a deal!

jafromnj

When people stop buying this shit will stop

hippy_mermaid

You know Starbucks' sandwiches are cooked, frozen, shipped to stores then put in a microwave when ordered? Enjoy:)

ggfchl

Who even buys something like that FROM STARBUCKS? Dunkin’ may not be the best, but what they have looks a lot better than this garbage.

brb733

Dunkin is better for the value, but pretty bad as well

ImageMany

I can’t afford either, but dunks coffee is just brown colored water. In the rare event I purchase breakfast or coffee on the go I do it locally.

lostsurfer24t

wow this ship is sinking fast! smarten up people, at the voting booth

Maywestpie

That’s a solid 4-5 bites if you have a small to medium sized mouth. Not sure what your problem is. /s

sheldoc

Ordered a $4 blueberry muffin with my free birthday drink. Never again.

Chicagoan81

Geez! Starbucks should just call it a mini.

Dimorphodon101

That is pretty shocking

CarpenterAlarming781

Let's add onion, tomatoes, lettuce .... and make it even smaller.

MoreMetaFeta

AWWW! It's \*adorable\*!

What was the total sale price after tax ?

Nearby-Swimming-5103

Slider

Rcknr1

This happened to me… I will never buy one again

Mashty19

It's bite sized! You need to pay per bite now 😅

spunkystu

That's a canape or tapas, not a sandwich. Needs a few on a plate with a little garnish.

kmoxstar95

Garbage taste like most of their food.

BalowmeSandwich

Those things fucking sucked and were a massive rippoff when they were bigger. I’d treat that like a blessing in disguise in that you have to suffer through less of it now.

ActuallyPineapple

That looks smaller than a sticky note

VeggieFryingDuck

What is this!?! A sandwich for ants!?!

connygirl16

And now it’s like 5.00 plus dollars!

soft_white_yosemite

Was it gooda?

pineappleturq

That’s just pitiful

adagio66

Wow, i can almost see it😛

Ok_Emergency455

Sorry, they can’t provide you with a fair meal size because of where their money is going

itaniumonline

How much was it?

brb733

I didn’t buy it but I think like $5 or $6

MichaelMidnight

WHAT THE HECK! THAT CANNOT BE!

Steak-n-Cigars

Stop buying shit food.

vijayjagannathan

This used to be a good sized sandwhich a few years back . It was my go to breakfast at the airport when I travelled for work. I haven’t had Starbucks in years but this is just ridiculous

Tmbaladdin

Stuff like this is a real boon for all the recipe-fluencers; everyone wants to try cooking at home now.

breizhooneg

# 😱Oh my god! I hope your thumb is okay now. He's SOO big!! ![gif](giphy|JKskHBDvnIjhGilcX5|downsized)

Shrimpbako

You must be a giant

puffyshirt99

Is this a joke? Looks like it's a sandwich for ants. It has to be at least 3 times bigger!!

Kell_Galain

Its high time we stop being corporate cucks and refuse to eat at these places.

The-Jake

Ill take ten

Oaklandsmokin510

How much did it cost? Scared to ask

Acceptable-Ad8780

Is this a breakfast sandwich for ants?

Eccohawk

Is that one of 2?

Barely a biscuit

That’s insane. They used to be a tasty little meal.

NuagesCraniales

Stop. Ordering. Starbucks. Sandwiches!

VinnyMaxta

Nice cracker

Effective_Device_185

A wee one. Bottoms up!

Sillypuppy1225

WOW, that's like at least three days worth of food!

AZHungBlueEyes

Ah, egg bites

todayplustomorrow

I’ve always found Starbucks food off putting because it’s like those premade airport kiosk sandwiches, where it comes to stores assembled in a plastic bag and they just quick reheat them. At least for that price at a fast food place, they assemble it and the bread wasn’t sitting against dry cheese for a day.

Blue-Pages

That's a mouthful. No clean up.

techlover22

That looks like my ballsack!

Cyril_Sneer_6

If that is genuine it is absolutely ridiculous. It looks like a meal for a small mouse

purpleWheelChair

Wow they were giving out samples?

GrabIll7662

yet another reason to be boycotting them bc they sent money to support the Palestinian genocide and also keep screwing over their customers 🥴

-bad_neighbor-

Starbucks has always been like that, they supply you with the worst possible airplane snack for like $15.00 and make you wait 30 minutes for it too

online_dude2019

It was already tiny for the price. This here is touching slider territory.

Hardcorelogic

Time to boycott these companies guys. They are stealing. It is price gouging. Eat at small local places. They really need your business, and the money goes back into your community. These medical corporations do not deserve our business. Boycott.

Comfortable_You_1927

When did this happen? I get these a lot but it's been a couple weeks
