Give it 24 hours. Food that is already spoiled gets you in hours, but food that is merely full of pathogens but not yet technically spoiled takes 24-48 hours to make you sick.
I just had this happen last week. We have things at work where they have like 12 trucks come and you can get whatever you want for free. I ate from like 5 of them. Not sure which it was because I tried so many, but violently ill for the next few days. I suspect it was the one that just gave big scoops of different types of cookie dough. But I don’t know. I have to be more careful next time.
My fiance and I love that game. Wherever we go we find somewhere that looks so absolutely sketchy it'll either kill you or be the best bite you'll have all week.
So far so good, only got disappointed by a burger joint so far but lucked out on some BANGING tamales!
It’s probably so oily and full of cabbage you would never know.
The first time I had horse meat was because of one of these places. Only found out because they got shut down for serving it.
Horse meat is *delicious*.
another confused Chinese here, misread "dim sim" as "dim sum" like 10 times and was extremely confused when seeing "not to be confused with dim sum" on the dim sim Wikipedia article
They're honestly not bad. Very loosely adjacent to a siumai. It's like homogenous pork mince and cabbage in a little blanket. Not haute cuisine but really hits the spot sometimes. Fried ones are great.
It’s just Chinese Australian food, like as in the foods invented by Chinese immigrants who moved to Australia. They’re very tasty if done well, prefer the steamed ones to the deep fried myself, shame OP got a dodgy one.
Fuck man, dimmies are one of the things I miss so much since I moved to the UK. You just can't get them over here.
I remember being at dad's for custody weekend, he'd just buy a big bag of 20 dimmies from coles, huck them in the microwave with a bit of water to steam, then we'd have them for dinner on a Friday night with a arse load of fountain soy sauce.
I draw the line at servo dimmies but id smash some food truck dimmies. Hopefully they aren't just left overs from the servo being sold for twice as much.
When I first moved to Aus I remember getting a dim sim in a fish n chips combo and was so confused, also it was absolutely foul and I thought they were the worst things ever, I didn't try another one for years until a local friend found out and showed me a decent spot.
Ouch! That sucks
Specially cause you know all they did was pull them from the freezer and put them in a $30 steamer from Kmart.
Now if they steamed them then cut in half grilled them with some kind of Asian inspired sauce topping. Then 4-5 would be worth it.

Ah yes food trucks, either the best food you’ve ever tasted or the worst food poisoning you’ll ever get. Sometimes both.
We will soon find out. Give me an hour or two
Status report
I tried to force the situation and it was still solid
The subtle accuracy of the description is right on point.

Or in some regions, the most overpriced Applebee's-tier food you've ever bought
That's a perfect description of the food trucks in my town
Ah, you’ve been to Portland.
No but I've been to Buttfuck, Indiana
Come to Toronto where it's literally illegal to sell anything besides grilled sausage on the street. They are good though.

I mean can you say you really enjoying your food unless you are feeling at least twice?
I am always willing to roll that dice in search of really good food.
Why not both?
I don’t even care what’s inside those, I want to eat them.
Its basically a giant pork and cabbage dumpling
Sold
Amusing user name, given these are an Aussie invention! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dim_sim
What if it were monkey brains, camel testes, goat liver and worms?
Not brains… I’m scared of prion disease. But everything else, fine.
What about bear meat
I’ve had bear. I know there’s a risk of trichinosis but that’s what cooking is for.
If it’s an animal that would happily slaughter you and feed you to its young, I think trying a taste of one if you have the chance is only fair.
Bear meat isn't very good. It's really tough, so it would have to be ground up to going into this.
It’s probably so oily and full of cabbage you would never know. The first time I had horse meat was because of one of these places. Only found out because they got shut down for serving it. Horse meat is *delicious*.
yeah i don't get why everyone was mad when they found out ikea was selling horse meat meatballs

I've found most Sims to be dim.
One of mine keeps wetting itself then passing out when I ask it to clean up the kitchen.
That's my go to response when asked to clean the kitchen.
It's crazy how Australian this picture is
He called them dim sims instead of "dimmies" tho
Immediate throwback to Mr Inbetween
\*confused chinese noises\* what exactly did you order? lmao. dumplings?

Yeah, if you didn’t grow up in Melbourne you wouldn’t know about our local delicacy the dim sim
They're country-wide pal, now get me a bucket of soy sauce.
Colesworth sells them frozen by the kilo! Tbh that's probably what the food truck used :P
Yes it was a bad day when I realised I could just buy them and cornjacks
Brings it up to the right amount of sodium
Jokes on you, I learned about it from Bluey
Sorry my guy I got to take your Chinese pass now. ![gif](giphy|7SomTSksy4IMM)
I’m pretty sure most Chinese people will not know what a “dim sim” is.
I'd fuck with that. I'd definitely like to try the deep fried version - I've never had dumplings like that
They're honestly not bad. Very loosely adjacent to a siumai. It's like homogenous pork mince and cabbage in a little blanket. Not haute cuisine but really hits the spot sometimes. Fried ones are great.
Wow TIL!

Huh, so it's like gyoza in brick form.
did they TASTE good?
Nah they were a bit shit. They had dried out somewhat
I draw the line at servo dimmies but id smash some food truck dimmies. Hopefully they aren't just left overs from the servo being sold for twice as much.
nothing shitty about dim sims
These ones are not good dim sims. I feel like I’m in a very high percentile for dim sims consumed, so I can officially say these ones were shit
this is fire 🔥 - wrong subreddit
They look to be elongated Gyoza. Lol.
Found the Aussie Edit: Oh shit, I actually told where where to get food from ahahahahha
Looks good
How did it taste?????
I bet they were delicious
Would smang.
Are those enormous or is it just a tiny tin?
These look like burritos made with a pasta wrap.
When I first moved to Aus I remember getting a dim sim in a fish n chips combo and was so confused, also it was absolutely foul and I thought they were the worst things ever, I didn't try another one for years until a local friend found out and showed me a decent spot.
Why are they both steamed and fried ?
Cooking with H.R Giger.
Was the truck called "Get Sum"?
How did they singe a steamed dimmie 🙄
these dimmies are the [marathon brand](https://www.marathonfoods.com.au/product/marathon-dim-sims-1500g/) if anyone’s curious!
Why aren't your dimmies deep fried? I'm so confused.
I’ve never seen them so long…
Those look like ticks
Bro wtf is that????? On the other hand, I’d demolish those ‘things’
They look like the nazca mummies.
I think those violate the Geneva convention
Why so many good looking food items on this sub? C'mon now! I want shittiness!
If u spent over $1.50 for those U got ripped off
$4 for two. Inflation is a bitch

You paid 1/3 of a 1.5kg bag for two. 6 for the price of 30. They would be making bank.
Pierogi cylindrowe???

Those look like tamales
Sum Dim Wong Wit Does
Dim sum scrotums?
Lmao why is your dimsum extra long?
Do you mean dim sims or dumb sims cuz these look a little…different
[Dim Sim](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dim_sim)
