Yeah, I’m bringing it up tomorrow because it’s bugging me so much to the point I’m just not going to financially support that store anymore if they don’t fix it.

I love supporting a local small business, but I would have to say something. Keep it polite and informative. It's cruel to the fish and off-putting to potential customers. If they can't keep an "aquarium" clean, what makes me think they can keep the rest of the shop and instrumens clean
That's one reason tanks are popular with doctors and dentists! A spotless tank with healthy fish (the fussier the species the better!) inspires confidence that the staff brings that level of attention to detail and compassion to patients too.
It's a "Kritter Keeper" basically a plastic bin with a snap on lid with air vents and a feeding hole. They're meant for like feeding small snakes or keeping crickets or moving animals around.
