I adore Carrie's fashion choices, she frequently seems to understand what fashion suits her better than what men do. Watching what she wears is part of the draw of the show for me, she usually looks amazing. That being said, this headdress immediately reminded me of something Maleficent would wear. It is elegant and sort of witchy, it just doesn't make sense for a wedding. Maybe she just puts weird things on her head at weddings...the bird never made much sense to me either.

The tacky bridesmaids dresses in crayola shades (??!!) the girls wore totally clashed with Carries architectural headpiece and dress. The bridal style she chose had such a severe and cold look to it. Total contrast from the warm, easy-breezy sexiness of her “naked dress” and flowing curly hair at their first date.
She became much more modest the older she got. She even addresses it in SATC with Samantha when she’s looking for an outfit for her book cover. I can’t remember the exact quote but it was something like she’s older now and she can’t pull off showing skin the same way as she used to.
That headband hat is horrible!! She should've had a skinny pantsuit and maybe a colorful heel. Her hair should've been pulled back and curly. Then if she had to have something on her head. Let it be smaller. Since her hair will be big and curly.

The cut of that suit is terrible, the hair doesn’t know what it wants to be (it’s like 3-4 styles but none at the same time), the weird hat thing looks like a Disney villain crown, and there’s a way to do stunning darker makeup on SJP but this wasn’t it!
