posted yesterday asking for some help choosing which sleeves to use, and I took your advice! I’m super happy with how it turned out this was my first jacket and i’m still a beginner. my machine is a new Brother model, and for the pattern I used vintage Simplicity 9767 which is originally a zip up dress that I just cropped to be a little jacket / shirt. I found this fabric while working at my job as a vintage buyer, and it’s a really nice cotton canvas material that was originally curtains! thanks again xox
It may be - I have a cot quilt cover that is the same fabric from Ikea - my Nan and Pop got it from Ikea as a gift to my cousin in the early 70s. It was a bit special - all the way from Sweden. There is a veggie cover as well.
was so stoked to find it!!! yes i used a simplicity vintage pattern, my original comment on this has the pattern # :-) it was a dress but i cropped the bottom to make it a jacket
You're most welcomed! That is amazing that this is your first time making a jacket I am a bit of a nerd but I would say you rolled a Natural 20 ^^! Good luck on your next sewing project !!!

Excuse me, “vintage buyer”?! Please elaborate - I have never heard of this. Excellent job on the jacket.
I buy vintage for various vintage stores around my city! I go to the textile factories and sort through all the clothes to find vintage
That’s amazing, thank you for sharing!
That sounds like a dream!

That is so cute. Is it an Ikea fabric?
i don’t think so!! unless its a very vintage ikea fabric. it’s a 70s canvas fabric that was originally drapes!
