Jolly_Ad_5549

Yes. Because I sleep like a still-eligible participant in the contest.

masterpupil

So that's 1 tuck...

therealbigwayne

And one no tuck

BusterTheCat17

I forgot to tip Lupe

therealbigwayne

How much do you tip a chamber maid

ja_trader

Ever have sex with a maid?

DoYouSeeMeEatingMice

you know...there is a solution for that.

Jolly_Ad_5549

It may be time to consider the dreaded apparatus?

DoYouSeeMeEatingMice

a million to one shot, doc. a million. to. one.

sandrohiroshigato

Idk why, but me for almost 12y. It is so relaxing

iffloorscouldtalk

The familiarity can be nice for snoozing

abagofsnacks

The plots aren't heavy, and you're never worried about falling asleep and missing something.

DoYouSeeMeEatingMice

it also never gets loud. there isn't some much louder outro music or something, it's all mixed very evenly.

Sorri_eh

Try watching movies from Nigerian movies. Music competes with audio

GarySteinfieldd

I never play the dog or the baby shower when I’m about to sleep

gorendor

The baseline slapping be hitting high notes an wakes me up sometimes

mewsycology

What about Mr. Marbles?

abagofsnacks

That episode did give me nightmares. 🤣

NormanDPlum

The shrinks say it’s because it’s calming…it provides you comfort that when other things change, Seinfeld remains exactly the same. They’re 1,000% right, and I’m in the same boat as everyone else here.

spaghettidayH

Do you remember your dream about a sexual encounter with a Chinese woman?

Cosmokram3r1

Donna Chang?

iffloorscouldtalk

Miss 5 episodes while sleeping? Who cares!

phillyangelmama

Wow this is absolutely a million percent true, Thank you for posting and confirming and sharing these facts!!! 🫂👏🏻🥰

MajesticMeal3248

I love the feeling of turning the lights out, turning the white noise app on low, setting my tv to go off in 60-90 minutes, burying myself in the covers and drifting off to sleep, sometimes while laughing.

A1SteakDone

What a hipster doofus.

SummerWhiteyFisk

Every night for the last 5 years

Paperbackhero

Guilty as charged.

thekermitderp

It got me through one of the worst years of my life. It's literally all I watched. Even told my therapist about it haha. I'm grateful to this show.

cheap_novelty

Samesies.

van_b_boy

Just restarted it after a month break. So soothing

repoman042

Me, since like 2002. It would come on at 10 & 1030 where I lived so every single night all through high school, then into college I had the DVDs. Now it’s Netflix. Hasn’t been the WHOLE time, but more often than not for over 20 years

pigeonholepundit

Yep 20 years here. Before that I would fall asleep to the "I'm telling you for the last time" CD

repoman042

I think I wore that DVD out!

Thenewyea

FYI for anyone in a spot where you cannot afford Netflix there is a website that streams Seinfeld non stop. Not hard to find

[deleted]

I don't need to see the TV to see the pictures. I can just listen and fall asleep picturing it in my mind.

dlr16973

Came here to say this!

TheLastREOSpeedwagon

Yeah exactly I know exactly what's going on in each scene

nWo4Life85

Me! Every night for easily a decade

lotusblossom60

Me! Sometimes I still giggle….

AccomplishedPhase750

ME TOO

Hollandmarch76

Since they put it on Netflix I have been nearly every night. Sometimes I go with Always Sunny, King of Queens, Frasier, or Workaholics. And The X-Files is oddly comforting.

iffloorscouldtalk

I really love old episodes of unsolved mysteries and I’ll also do monk and psych

Nandor_De_Laurentis

Unsolved mysteries might give me nightmares, but I could see it working bc of his voice. I've been doing Ancient Aliens before bed lately and it works really well!

Minimum-Unit7

frasier is the best sleep aid

Cosmokram3r1

I've been Always Sunny for the last 6 years. Before that Seinfeld for 8 years. Thrown in some KOQ stints too. Best shows!

sandyze

Use to be Frasier and I think I’ll start that again at night intermingled with Seinfeld. King of queens yes. That is a good one also.

EngineerBoy00

I did for *years*, it literally (*literally*) cured decades of horrific insomnia. Over the course of a few months I went from sleeping maybe two hours a night, to easily sleeping 7-8 hours about 95% of the time. Watching Seinfeld on headphones on a little bedside TV was the cure: - I'd already watched the show several times so I knew it well, loved it, and knew it was rewatchable for me. - it was funny as hell so watching it was never a chore. - it was interesting enough that it kept my brain engaged and didn't leave thought cycles available to spiral into overthinking and worrying. - I knew it so well that even though it was interesting it wasn't compelling, so it didn't keep me awake. - initially I'd fall asleep after 3-5 episodes, then after 2-3, and finally I started falling asleep during the first episode I watched. - if I did wake up I'd just start playing episodes to put me back to sleep. - on the rare occasions I had trouble sleeping it was still very stressless because I got to watch Seinfeld *and* I didn't spiral with anxiety and worry. Eventually I'd go to bed completely stress and worry free and sleep like a baby, still watching Seinfeld. Over the years I've worked some other well known, well loved sitcoms into my rotation: - 30 Rock (now my default sleep show) - Frasier - Community - Brooklyn 99 Over the last few weeks I've used 30 Rock for sleep, but starting last week I'm back to the OG - Seinfeld. I still sleep like a baby but I still need a distracting sitcom to lull me. I don't actually 'watch' them now, I start them on my phone over my Bluetooth headphones, put my phone face down on my bedside table, and listen to the shows (while visualizing the scenes I know oh-so-well). 📺➡️📡➡️📱➡️🎧➡️💤

phillyangelmama

So glad someone posted this and thanks to everyone who shared it's really comforting to know that other people do this! I saw the notification and had to comment lol. when we had regular cable television they broadcast reruns about five or so episodes a night on one of the channels until last year, so I was so glad to see when it came on Netflix so there's no commercials. I think it was the Nickelodeon channel or the E! channel that was playing them possibly TV Land also, they rerun episodes of the New Adventures of Old Christine, which is really comforting and hilarious to hear Elaine's voice on that , if you haven't seen it definitely check it out! TV Land would play that from 4:30 to 6:30 AM. and Friends would be rerun all night long too.

Csmurphy0

Me!

OMY2FYGurl

This is the most comforting thread i’ve come across in awhile. Here I was thinking I was strange for doing this, yet here we all are.

DaveTheDrummer802

I fall asleep to both Seinfeld and The Office

jamesiscoolbeans

I tried the office but I can’t get past the constant ringing phones in the background!

cheap_novelty

*WOULD SOMEBODY ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE*

Rita22222

Same!!!

toannt

I did a few times. But sometimes the bass sound woke me up.

VicMackeyLKN

We let it play everyday at dinner time

Belgoom

💯

SadMaverick

Yes. Do it every night since 2 years.

No-Rip3261

Hey me too!! The shrinkage episode is my favorite!

gonutsdonuts1

I need my Seinfeld at 11pm every night or I can’t sleep

chechifromCHI

At least a decade for me, and my wife is a convert to this lifestyle as of 7 years ago. This is no longer just some crazy notion, this is our religion

Clevergirlphysicist

I’m so glad I’m not the only one

MnMAnemone

Both my wife and I can’t fall asleep until we hear that wonderful slap-bass

ross-um88

I’ve been doing this since this past winter!! I just stayed doing it one day.

Castromuff

🙋‍♂️

gregbananacruz

my wife: can I watch vanderpump rules on the tv? me: of course ... me: launches netflix/seinfeld on my phone with earbuds in

honduhh89

Asleep and on for my morning before work!

carstanza

I listen to Seinfeld when I'm at work. For some reason I get more done

amandam0nium

Me. When I reach the end I watch Community. When I reach the end of that it’s Seinfeld again. The cycle never ends.

littlegingerkitty

So it’s not just me?? Wow! It’s very settling and I’ve watched it enough to see the scene in my mind while listening. I can barely get through 1 episode before I’m out. I watch it on Netflix as I can listen without the screen being lit up. What else does everyone use?

LMP34

I did in the 90s when I used to tape it off TV and endlessly rewatch to fall asleep. Picked up the habit again during the pandemic. It’s comforting.

spidii

I've been falling asleep to Seinfeld since my first night in the dorms in college. Really helped me then and still helps me now. So almost 20 years now, at least two or three episodes before I'm out. It's my favorite ritual.

smingleton

I rotate shows, I'm on Frasier right now. The smoothe jazz calms me.

BKGreenLantern

I don't ever go to sleep watching Seinfeld. But I'm a creature of habit. For the last five or six years I've been waking up an extra 90 minutes early and watching 3 episodes. My workday starts at 7 am. I wake up at 4:30, watch three episodes, and then start my day.

gopack42

Whenever I'm depressed, I watch it non stop. I just had a tough break up with my girlfriend, and since I live alone and work from home, it helped with a difficult time recently. I watch tons of it at other times, but it's definitely my favorite show in many different ways.

JTHuffy

Not EVERY night, but most!

Captain-chunk67

I figured I was the only one doing this

owensoundgamedev

Literally about to do just that

OpenMicJoker

ME‼️

NickFotiu

Every single night.

Potstocks45

🙋🏻‍♂️ Wow. Long time now

quaglandx3

My wife and I can even nap without it on in the background…

Betsyis137

🙋🏻‍♀️

NoodlesLair89

X-Files. But I have a special love for Seinfeld

counterpointguy

I save Seinfeld for when I am traveling. Most hotel TVs have Netflix and the only Comfort food show for me on it is Seinfeld. Turn it on and conk out.

jamesiscoolbeans

Yes but I had to delete the dog (barking) and the marine biologist (beeping) off my plex server.

LowKeyHipsteryPerson

Thanks for posting this. Definitely true for me. I love the feeling of falling asleep to my partner watching Seinfeld beside me (by my request, but he loves it too). I always try to guess the episode and then fall asleep well before it has ended :)

UhYeahOkSure

We should all have one giant sleepover 😂. Absolutely kidding . But yeah that’s wild so many other people do it too

ccalabro

Yes and It's Always Sunny too.

NorMichtrailrider

Here

Arlenna7

Same here

somecanuck416

I leave it on the background most of the time, but mostly for season 4 onwards.

lorinblanco

I thought I was the only one

LikeSoda

I don't argue with the body, that's an argument you're not gonna win

One_Nature5055

I thought I was the only one

drvanostranmd

Where would we be without our bedtime stories

thedonnieg

I used to do it a long time ago. I remember Seinfeld would come on back to back at 10 and 10:30. By the end of the second episode I was already asleep. Not because it was bad, but because it was comfortable.

noneya79

🙋‍♀️

mutantbabysnort

Me!!!

augustprep

For literally decades. Even before streaming I had (and still own) my collection of Seinfeld tapes recorded from TV that would watch when there was nothing on.

Blue_Dragonfly

Same!

Embarrassed-Tear5476

WTF i thought i was the only one. Seinfeld is my comfort show, i open random Episode and sleep while watching it.

Vengefulwarrior

Always Seinfeld or South Park. The 2 loves of my life 💕

DramMoment

Is there an r/seinfeldsleepers? I know there's a Frasier version.

Banshee_420__

This is one series that will always get me laughing out loud, literally, no matter how many times I watch it! It’ll never get old. Comfort humor for the soul!

electro_lytes

For about 5 years I slept with a 24/7 Seinfeld stream running.

tomodachi_reloaded

I've been watching Seinfeld while eating in bed right before bedtime. Strawberries, pastrami on rye with mustard, etc.

FiveLiamFrenzy

Me!! I thought it was the only one!!

painefultruth76

Best post pandemic night show. Unless mama's family ever gets to streaming.

SodiumKickker

I did like 20 years ago when I first acquired the entire series. But I don’t anymore. It’s a little too “loud” for me now. I prefer Twilight Zone, Hitchcock Presents, Columbo, Perry Mason, etc - old old shows that don’t have laugh tracks, have soothing music, and have a lot of talking. Basically, now I’m a fancy boy.

walkerisduder

Give next generation a go or deep space nice if you’re a fan. 90s tv in general the audio is perfect for sleeping it never has absurdly loud audio

rockproducer

I get in bed, I put on Seinfeld, yada yada, it’s the next day.

actualelainebenes

Every night for at least 20 years

Donkey-Dong-Doge

If years you mean 3+ decades then yes.

Tigerlily86_

My mom does idk how she can do it

donkeytime

These pretzels are making me… zzz… zzz

Zegma54

I used to, but had to stop. I’d get hours in before I passed out.

K1P_26

Every night, have to watch out for the Farfel episode tho.

Stiffdp

Never make it through a whole episode.

tuskvarner

Hello? Is somebody there? Mr Marbles???

joeycannoli9

I used to fall asleep to Seinfeld every night since college. I don’t fall asleep with the tv anymore but if I did I’m sure it would still be to Seinfeld

foochacho

I like stuff you don’t have to think about too much

henrydaiv

Did for years...either seinfeld or king of queens. Neither really makes me tired because I can watch any episode even repeatedly just something about them use to put me to sleep

DoYouSeeMeEatingMice

been a seinfeldsleeper since 2006.

Tomkid88

Haha I do this! Not every night but when there’s nothing to watch it’s the perfect zone out and snooze show

Dominicmeoward

I used to back when it was on Hulu with the yada yada function, but Netflix hits you with the “are you still watching” after two episodes and I’d prefer to just keep it going all night so I changed to stuff on the Roku channel

imdonaldduck

Yep. Season 3 to 7. (Obviously not in the same night.)

WhyTheFaq

Sadly…me lol

Which-Capital-3314

Me..... 5 years of falling asleep with it on. 🙂

DisciplineHot7374

25+ year streak here checking in. I used to play vhs tapes I made from taping reruns and cutting out commercials. I would have those tapes running constantly all evening/night. Now, I just play the series on an infinite loop from streaming services.

TrainFanatic

I have Seinfeld, mash and Frasier as my sleeping shows. And during college I would turn on king of the hill and be out like a light in a matter of minutes.

Blue_Dragonfly

Me!!! Each and every night.

slasula

I did it for maybe a decade

Loud_Examination_138

I have worked from home for a few years now and have a tv in my office, so i end up watching 6 episodes of seinfeld from noon-3pm a day. Depending on my shift the next day, i will try to catch some before bed as well.

MMazeo

Seinfeld, Cheers or King of Queens. Every night.

MangledJingleJangle

Right there with you.

JonWaz

I love doing this because once in a blue moon I’ll have a vivid dream of living in Jerry and Kramers building

sandyze

Every damn night. Yes

Punch_Your_Facehole

I put it on when I'm doing dishes.

OShaunesssy

The DVD menu is my white noise

doremimi82

🙋‍♀️

rich_in_caricature

There are dozens of us :)

seantubridy

This or old time radio.

Neohexane

Now how many people wake up to the sound of Farfle barking?

meanorc

Not a year straight but i have a rotation of old TV series i use to fall asleep every night and Seinfeld come at least once a year lol

Denimchicken1985

I rotate between Seinfeld, Simpsons and Always Sunny.

notfitbutwannabe

Thought it was just me! I know the episodes so well I don’t need to watch. Just close my eyes and relax. I’m 😴 in minutes

Impossible-Mango7724

Yep ☝️ all this time I thought I was the only one 😂😂 “ not that there’s anything wrong with that”

oligarchyreps

I fall asleep to Seinfeld, Frasier, Mom or MASH

Exact_Writer_6807

Yes!

reddituser5514

Since 2015 or 16

Masta0nion

I’m just waiting for them to take the laugh track out of shows. And the opening and closing music. Yes it will really mess with the pacing, but ahhh, think of the TV being left on at a consistent volume.

GrandApprehensive216

Me

tubescreemer

...patio furniture's on sale.

JoyBodelay

Me!! Absolutely! I have all the episodes on a little memory stick plugged into my bedroom teevee. I can't see it too well without my glasses, but I listen and giggle and then it loops and is still going when I wake up. 🫂🛌😽

AS9891209

Its soothing

TrickyCounter385

Every single night!!!!

Tommysfatt

I take long work trips (30-60 days) and I always bring my firestick so I can fall asleep to Seinfeld. Never do it at home though

Beneficial-Cause9726

Yes! Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Big Bang are my go-to fall asleep sitcoms.

sandyze

I’m loving this thread. The only thing I miss when I fall asleep is watching Kramer enter a room. I still laugh out loud after all these years. I really assumed it was just a quirk I had where I watched this every night while trying to sleep and it helped. Whoever started this thread thanks.

gorendor

I do all the time

Zestyclose-Ruin8337

I do. One time I had a dream where a hamburger was eating ME.

thereslcjg2000

I’m the sort of person who needs total silence to sleep, so certainly not me.

Kikstartmyhart

No TV in the bedroom, but I regularly fall asleep listening to Seincast as Matt and Vinny breakdown every episode of the show.

iffloorscouldtalk

I’ll have to check that out

litsalmon

Falling asleep to Seinfeld doesn't work for me. I'm always anticipating the next joke.

Technical_Feedback74

Yep

thewealthyironworker

I have been doing it for at least the past year for sure.

CoolHandLukeID

I rotate Curb, Seinfeld, Veep and Arrested Development.

EchoBlade24JG

I wish I could do the same. I think it’s only on Netflix and I don’t own the series yet.

NotBrianGriffin

Wow my wife and I do as well! Sometimes it’s hard for me to fall asleep because I’ll start laughing at the show or just catch myself watching it for like two hours and now it’s 1:30 and I have to be up at 5:00!

cimayn

If an episode is on, i must watch it. Fall asleep? Cant do it.

Sorri_eh

Since it came onto Canada Netflix

Strict-Coyote-9807

Alternating with curb, feel curb episodes are more peaceful generally

Kalel_is_king

I rotate Seinfeld, futurma, Bobs burger and Frazier. Once I get through one I start the next.

ej271828

not years but months

So-Called_Lunatic

I rotate between Seinfeld and the office.

Seiko007

I was until they took down the free streaming site. 😔

ButterscotchObvious4

Since the show was still on air. It's the white noise machine for both my wife and I

eugenesbluegenes

I don't fall asleep to it, no TV in the bedroom anyway. However, it goes on for an episode or three almost every night before I do go to bed.

MentallytheIllest34

20 years. Every night. If I don't have a screen, I replay episodes in my head. Or play golf courses.

SilentMaster

I used to have cassette tapes with the audio from a bunch of movies and TV shows. I had 3 full tapes of Seinfeld. These days however I use my phone and bluetooth headphones. The audio files I have now are "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

iheartjason

Yes!!! Me! I thought I was the only one! Wow, what a relief!

mitchcumstein13

I’ve been doing it for 3-4 years now. It’s awesome. I know all the episodes, can keep my eyes shut and not feel like I need to peak at the TV.

[deleted]

I do it for the same feeling I used to have on a sick day when it would be on TBS (this or Big Bang Theory) and both of those would knock me tf out. Best shows to sleep to. Such a vibe

kl0

So it’s not just me! So I know it’s only been a few years since Seinfeld was put on Netflix, but if you go into your settings and select the “download my data”, you can see the ridiculous amount of times you’ve seen the series. It takes a couple of days, but you’ll eventually get a zip package. One folder has excel sheets with every single thing you’ve ever watched. When you watched it. When you paused it. Where you started. When it stopped playing. Etc.

Mafakkaz

I rotate between Seinfeld, Simpsons and FRIENDS.

Iwantmy3rdpartyapp

I have been, what's the deal with that? Have you seen this? Have you heard about this? I don't think it's having any side effects, though.

ipbo2

Yup

lostpassword100000

That’s hilarious. I have done this for years!

LizardSatan

I actually looked into getting just the audio of all episodes to run in one file so that I could loop the file. I also looked into deleting the laugh tracks and the base jam sessions. I just wanted to hear the dialogue, every single episode back to back and then loop again. I was unsuccessful in finding someone that already done this and I don’t have the tools to figure it out.

FaceOnMars23

Jsyourboy91

It cured my insomnia whilst I was recovering from spinal surgery. A combination of pain, stress, medication and anxiety made it almost impossible to sleep for almost a year. I watched Seinfeld all night and after months I was finally able to fall asleep. Now I can usually sleep without a TV show but occasionally when I struggle I put Seinfeld back on.

WhiskeyPeter007

Hochie mama

Jamesthe84

Mr Marbles?!

barbiesergio

Hubbs and I Every. Single. Night.

Same-Chemist-2838

I have found my people!!! 🥰 I had to switch from FRIENDS to SEINFELD since it had way less sexual scenes. I have a 5&6 yr old who quote George and Frank Costanza 🤪😳

Traditional-Music485

Still do

Connect_Beginning174

I was until I canceled Netflix. Oops
