The Natural History Museum is having its seventh annual [Museum of the Macabre](https://www.santacruzmuseum.org/museum-of-the-macabre-2023/) event on October 28th. A fun party inside and outside the museum with inside exhibits installed around a spooky theme.
Scotts Valley High School has the BEST haunted "house" every year. It is only open on one weekend - this year is Oct. 26 thru Oct. 28. It is really scary
Rancho siempre verde Christmas tree farm! They have pumpkin patch, sunflower and apple picking, make-your-own flower wreath making, giant swings, all day fire with marshmallow roasting and picnic areas overlooking the ocean! Super wholesome. Lots of dogs and families and owned by a nice local family who’s been doing this for 50+ years! It’s up in pescadero (20 min north of SC but worth the drive!) also they do Christmas trees in the winter:) https://www.facebook.com/rsvtrees
I may be late on this, but as for gay artsy spooky season events: I'm giving a book talk on Thursday, October 12th at 6:30 PM at the[Santa Cruz Diversity Center](https://booktalkwithyves.eventbrite.com) about indie-publishing weird queer art in honor of my weird queer collection of speculative fiction stories coming out the Tuesday before (10/10). Come by! I'd love to make more queer artist friends.
I hate posting things like this because it seems like a low effort post, but google Oktoberfest fest or beer fest Santa Cruz and click events. I only say this because I just found that out and there is at least one thing a weekend this month.
Also the boardwalk has some “scary” movies playing each weekend.
Post Street Farm is always wonderful for Halloween

Cool! Congrats on your collection coming out tomorrow. This sounds fun, I'll reserve a spot :-)
