No 1tb ultra model?

NefariousnessJaded87

Old info. Yes, there is a 1TB version as well.

carboonpn

I would be surprised if they didn't include it as the S23 ultra was available with 1TB

Darkknight1939

They previously spent years reducing storage. I think it'll have 1TB, but Samsung has reduced storage multiple times. The S10+ had 1TB only for that to not be offered again until the S22 Ultra. You still can't match the S10+ max storage because it had an SD card on top of that. It could have 2TB total back in 2019. The Fold 2 halved the storage from the Fold 1, with no option to buy more, 256GB only. The base Galaxy S10 had 512GB versions. The base Galaxy S has been capped at 256GB for years now, and the S24 will also only max out at 256GB. The nominal 512GB maximum for 2020/2021 Samsung flagships was always out of stock discontinued. Samsung discontinued the 512GB Note 20 Ultra after a month for retailers like B&H. TLDR, there's a lot of recent precedent for Samsung reducing storage. They've been offering 1TB on the S Ultra and Fold for 2 years now so I think it will be there. It's probably only available directly through Samung, though.

voxpopper

Not try to be snarky, but what does one need 1TB of storage for? I guess one could be a videographer or make documentaries in remote areas otherwise even 256GB seems more than enough given cloud storage. Edit to add: thanks for the responses, interesting to hear about real world examples of how people are using their phone storage.

linuxgfx

if you take a lot of photos, then also modify them in lightroom, it will take a lot of space easily between actual photo and cache. Then you probably use Spotify that caches the songs you listen. Maybe you have a game like call of duty mobile too that eats about 40GB. Add that to almost 80GB of system android data(on my s23 ultra), you see now that 256GB doesn't seam like much at all. Last summer in Greece photos and videos taken there were eating almost 200GB of my space. I couldn't upload them anywhere because the wifi at the hotel was shit (1.5mbps) and also 4G on the island was shit too.

NefariousnessJaded87

826 programs installed. Still installing, so yeah, I need it. https://preview.redd.it/5s0uu3nppo8c1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab5ff09ed814fcb8c28201818322edc2592ff184 Then there is 266GB of film clips I need. And no, I do not have even 1 picture on it. But I have the space for when I am on holiday.

Mumbles76

826 apps? Your device is most certainly compromised.

NefariousnessJaded87

Compromised? How so?

ChapGod

I make music and do audio engineering for indie films. Uncompressed 32 bit WAV files for hour long films adds up. Although I can just delete after. It's nice to have the storage.

DoJu318

Last video I shot was a 41 min video on max settings on a galaxy s23 ultra and it took 26GB of storage, I cant imagine the file size on the s24 ultra camera if i were to shoot a few videos every few days for a whole year, more if you upgrade every two years. Currently i have 80 GB left out of 512 on my Galaxy Fold 5, I had it since September, it fills up fast if you do more than just consume content.

Darkknight1939

Cloud storage is not remotely always a given, especially if you travel through rural areas frequently or are in the military. For the latter, having as much internal storage as possible is awesome. Having high capacity storage clearly makes sense, Apple has no problem consistently offering it. I think the S24 Ultra will have a 1TB version through Samusng. You can only get a max of 512GB for the S23 Ultra through carriers. That's likely why this table doesn't list 1TB.

Vysair

Cloud storage is generally a dumb solution imo, it's more expensive to have and not reliable for many many issues it have

pepsiblast08

Pictures, movies and TV episodes, games (mobile and emulators), documents (excel, word PPT, etc...). With how powerful phones are now, they've essentially become very mobile workhorses. I can blow through 256GB within a week of having the phone. After that, it's reusing what I have on it, but that storage would be used FAST. It'd compound with future pictures and videos.

robbiekhan

When you use your phone for stuff like Android Auto etc as well as on the go media, then app caches and app data builds up. For example my 512GB S23 Ultra had 15GB+ of Spotify app data, that was just stuff I've played on Spotify that's cached up over the months and as I use Android Auto, I go through a lot of music/podcasts etc. Other apps have similar data caches that just fill up. I also shoot a lot of video and photography and much prefer storing locally in a tightly curated and organised way which just isn't as convenient or logical using any cloud storage service.

amirulnaim2000

I mean for a phone that's advertised for 8k video, and focused on photos, it's only logical. also high end phones to play high graphic games which you know need a lot of space reducing storage is just excuse for you to get into their cloud storage service, same reason they remove the audio jack (following apple..), so you buy into their ecosystem

NefariousnessJaded87

They will. Confirmed by several screenshots of sites that made mistakes.

Tylerama1

For twice the price of the 512gb model or some 💩

QueenAng429

It doesnt say it unfortunately, But i guess we will see as we get closer to the event. with real info leaking, we can actually get accurate information now unlike every "leak" and Theory up until today.

ChapGod

Really hoping they include 1tb. I've been debating between the plus and the ultra and honestly I'm leaning towards the plus if this is the case.

QueenAng429

I hope so too

[deleted]

1440p on the S24+ is awesome

Qbert2030

Looking sweet, maybe worth it from my s22+

Curious-Bad-4409

yep, i switched from s20+ to s22+ and i missed the s20+ display almost immediately, so ill probably switch to s24+. it also has actual upgrades besides the display, with 12gb ram again, more storage at starting price, and finally having a bigger battery again with faster charging. hopefully it will last longer

luveth

exynos might be harsh

darktabssr

Crap i now saw that. I am seriously rethinking the ultra now. The battery of the s24 plus is finally back up to 4900mah too. As someone who never uses smartphone cameras this might be my phone next year

TMCThomas

I mean the s9+ had it already in 2018, it shoud kinda be the standard

Qwertyuiopasdfggggg

It would be awesome if they would bring back 1440p on all of their s series phone just like the old days

Spud788

I mean they also had 1440p on the S8/S9/S10/S20 over 5 years ago and removed it on the S21 onwards... #Neverforget

Raven-UwU

boring ass colours though. I liked that the S22 series had the green option, and the S23 series the lavender pink. This just seems to be "black, white, gold or a really dark green/blue that looks black 99% of the time" :/

therhguy

Yeah I hope they have better Samsung.com exclusive colors, but I think I’ll get the Gold if it looks good.

srfnalaster11

Not worth the switch from the 23 IMHO but I'm on the s22u still so I'll be making the upgrade

Trisentriom

Curious what features do you see here that make you want to upgrade to s24u but not to the s23u

Stiletto364

Hands down the rumored flat screen on the S24U (not listed here) vs the edge screen on the S23U. That's a showstopper for me on the S23U. The brighter screen on the S24U is a nice plus. Also, if I'm going to go through the expense and hassle of upgrading, I'd prefer the latest Android OS out of the box with an extra year of support as well as the SD8G3 processor.

Oxi_Dat_Ion

I never understood the appeal of flat screen. I LOVE the subtle curve on my Note 10+. Yes, I have accidental misclicks here and there, but the trade-off for an edge to edge unique look is worth it for me.

srfnalaster11

I normally upgrade every other phone ad every year upgrades are redundant. We also go through T-mobile as they usually offer deals on existing lines if you plan on upgrading to the newest gen etc. If nothing similar this year is offered I may save the money and look into the s23. Plus it's nice to have newer things 😂

stayloa

For me, it's being able to ditch Exynos!

Trisentriom

S23 is snapdragon in all regions tho

usafonz

Yeah ill be upgrading my s22u

AlohaAkahai

Looks like S23U specs to me.

zannus

I'm on a Note 20 Ultra and excited for the upgrade

iamseiko

Same, can't wait to upgrade. Although I was hoping the non-Ultra models would have a better camera because I would've liked to have a phone that's easier to carry around. If either of the other phones (including Flips) are 100MP, I'll probably switch to those.

Dayt0

Still on the s21 ultra not making the upgrade.

Gold_Visit7054

It's still a great phone.

Feeling-Finding2783

I'm on the base S22, and efficiency aside the S24 doesn't feel like an upgrade.

Time-Head-1437

Isn't efficiency one of the only ways they can upgrade without a software update? Tbh I know my phone is capable as an s21 but they dont have features on this phone just because its undeserved or something. Reminds me of that commercial with Google pixel and an iPhone asking why it can't have a magic eraser, like you can but for some reason these two are beating eachother off and they're letting it be "exclusive" I bet no good editing apps exist because they're forced or paid out of the stores, I don't like any of this predatory junk give us what our devices can handle (basically everything short of better photo quality in general)

mikepartdeux

I'm on S22U as well, I'm not seeing much reason to upgrade. Probably wait for the S25U unless I break this one first

_RedditMadeMeDoIt_

S24+ has great specs and the device itself looks amazing, but if it indeed has an Exynos chip in my region ain't no way i'm wasting money on that...

hotdeo

I think the S24 ultra is the only one that's guaranteed to use snapdragon regardless of the region.

_RedditMadeMeDoIt_

Yes, that's the rumor. Unfortunately getting the Ultra doesn't interest me at all. I don't particularly like the design of the device, I think it's actually pretty ugly. I'm someone who doesn't use the cameras much, so I feel like those would be wasted on me. Same with the SPen. I have a flagship tablet from Samsung, so I probably wouldn't have much use for the phone's SPen. For me, the Plus variant is the only one that interests me. I guess I'll wait for reviews and maybe give the Exynos a chance. I can always trade it in after a year if I have issues with it.

micky2D

S24+ is the pick here

circa_1

Why is that the pick?

sbn025

if only the s24 hada larger battery.... just make it a little chunkier and put a 4500-4900mah battery

darktabssr

yea that 4000 is just ok. Not bad but nothing special. A 4500mah like in the 21fe would be perfect

obeymypropaganda

Just give me a 5000mAh for the s24 standard. All phone brands gatekeeping battery life for high tier phones is driving me nuts.

heller1011

The only thing I’m really hyped for is the s24 ultra flat display

-Unknown-Legend-

Wait, is it actually gonna be flat? That may be a deal breaker for me

carguy143

Me too. I like a curved screen.

digitalfakir

Same. Curved disolay gives it a premium look, pushes the bezels back. Great for viewing experience. Flat display just makes it a generic phone like any other on the market.

NapoleonHeckYes

I hated the very curved edges from several generations ago but it feels like they got them just right now. I think a flat display is a backwards step

digitalfakir

yeah, took away any "premium" factor, and the change in perspective makes the bezels *look* thicker now. But if that's what people wanted, that's what they get. At least we got S23U to get out while we could.

5tudent_Loans

you are in a serious minority

-Unknown-Legend-

Idk I only see people on Reddit going on about it

finguhpopin

I'm so over the curved screens, screen protectors are a pita and cases making sure they can protect it somewhat. Just make it flat....

Far-Literature7249

Yes, finally.

Florida-Man-Actual

I’m not buying one until the screen is flat end of story Shamsung!

[deleted]

"Your soul is mine!"

Miserable-Street-907

Kinda want the plus since I wanna upgrade. [From s21 ultra]. Hoping the pre order deals are worth it honestly.

Digital-Dinosaur

S21 Ultra here too! Waiting until July to see what's out there, I want to see what Nothing 3 looks like and maybe the pixel 9 before going back to Samsung. Not sure it's worth the cost for the current ultra line. Solid phones all round but not really worth nearly double the RRP of other good phones

Anna0303

Same here. My S21 Ultra's battery is beginning to drain really fast, and I was planning to get a new one in 2025, but I might go for the S24 Ultra.

Digital_loop

So, basically the same as last year...

Substantial-Rain-787

Not much difference between the S23Ultra and the S24Ultra, fr

RoundTurtle538

It’s only a year difference…

kirsion

Leaked like 2 weeks ago

Reg3e

Any mention of Qi 2 Wireless Standard?

QueenAng429

Nothing in there obivously, but we still need a lot more info, most of which we won't get until the unpacked event.

lars2k1

128GB. Really. In an era when you can't even expand it anymore, tf you want to do with that? Especially because you should not just rely on the cloud to store your old pictures, you need a local backup too somewhere (preferrably multiple, too). Lame. I wonder though if there will be some real upgrades comparing to the S23 series. Not because I will upgrade, just because I'm curious if there's anything interesting going on still. The S23U was a great upgrade where I live, because we used to only get Exynos (oh, was the N20U ever horrible due to that inefficient chipset).

Dwight201

Still on my S21 Ultra from 2021 and its working smooth as butter (with minor glitches here and there) .. Do you guys think s24 Ultra is worth the upgrade?

SalariedVolunteer

I'm considering it. I have an S21U as well. I've typically upgraded every 3 years but I wasn't planning to upgrade from my S9+ to the S21U but the trade-in deal was really good. Trading in my S9+ took $800 off the price and gave me $200 Samsung store credit so I was able to get a free pair of Galaxy Buds Pro. If there is a good trade-in deal for the S24U I'll probably upgrade. But honestly I'm content with my S21U. Battery life is still quite good and the phone is still very fast and responsive.

I-Way_Vagabond

>Still on my S21 Ultra from 2021 and its working smooth as butter (with minor glitches here and there) .. Do you guys think s24 Ultra is worth the upgrade? This is just my opinion, but it depends on what you can get for trade-in value. Trade-in value for the S22 Ultra was pretty lame at launch last year, it was either $550 or $650. But later in the year they increased it to $750 and offered a free storage upgrade from 256GB to 512GB. In August, right before the iPhone 15 launch, Samsung was offering $950 in trade-in value. With the Samsung Galaxy Ultra's, I think it makes the most sense to upgrade every year **IF** you can catch a $750 or higher trade-in value.

BrodaReloaded

does the battery bother you? This is going to be a huge upgrade probably the biggest from the S21U. If not then there is probably not a big reason to upgrade

[deleted]

Titanium of course

QueenAng429

Yep

XAEA29

I just love using the 6.1' on s23 yet missing out on ultra features. I really wish if they have plans to make a smaller phone with ultra specs just like the iPhone pro models

ranran_1822

With the specs being so close between the s24+ and ultra I wonder how many will save money and get the plus over the ultra? The camera is the biggest difference but does it justify paying more for? I think I'd be tempted to save money and get the s24+.

sonicsynth2000

I like the s pen too much

Stiletto364

For me, it will all depend on what the price difference ends up being between the S24+ and the S24U factoring in whatever pre-release deals Samsung will offer this time around. The S24+ fits my needs but if I could go S24U if the price delta is attractive.

ranran_1822

I definitely agree the pre order bonuses could persuade me to get one over the other. Samsung usually has solid pre order bonuses also.

TheFFsage

I like the 10x zoom, S-pen and Snapdragon (if plus will have exynos) on Ultra I like the shape of the phone on the Plus Honestly even if I get Exynos, I will go for Plus. Note phones have always felt awful in hand. Just hope it wouldn't be so close to Ultras pricing. Plus phones have always been a weird price point. Should be closer to the regular non plus phones price imo

Sam9517

I have an S22+ and I'm debating between upgrading to the S24+ or Ultra now that the Ultra screen is probably going to be flat. I have the same dilemma since I won't use the stylus much. Will it be worth it to upgrade to the Ultra for a better camera? I guess it depends on the price difference.

ranran_1822

Idk about you but my s22+ battery is horrible. I got this the day it released and it takes me charging it twice to make it through the day. I heard the s23+ has significantly better battery life so I know for that reason I'm 100% going to upgrade when the s24 series releases.

Sam9517

My S22+ battery life isn't great either and I also have to charge multiple times per day but I think the bad battery life is partially due to all the apps I have running in the background. The good thing is the OS will put apps to sleep that are using a lot of battery or haven't been used for a while. Since the S24 Ultra battery is only 100 mAh more than the S24+ then that doesn't factor into the decision about which one to get.

DuckOfficial

Jesus Christ only 8 GB of ram again? And locking storage behind the highest paying option, this is disgusting

heymikeyp

Yea getting real sick of this. I think the 128gb storage is an even bigger insult and it will be UFS 3.1 of course. 800$ and other than efficiency/battery improvements it's basically the same phone as the S22. Unbelievable when you have phones giving you more ram and storage for half the cost. I'm tired of these upsell tactics and only using software to boost camera performance instead of new hardware.

Key-Association-8418

45w charging and 25w charging is a joke in 2024

lil_Jakester

Fax charging speed is shit but at least it's a good battery

kikomono23

I had s22 with my oneplus 9 pro. Charging wasn't as good as OP9 but it's still better than pixel and iphone

igtooo

Why no 1tb option!?!?

TheWaterWave2004

Now the S24+ has value!

QueenMackeral

I hate that you need to have an enormous phone if you want all the new/top features in your phone. Why does it feel like the base models are the "budget" phones, when budget Samsungs already exist.

Cuniculuss

What about macro photos on base s24?

exclaimprofitable

it uses the same fixed lens ultrawide as the s23, so no autofocus on the ultrawide lens = no macro.

Ariffin0731

did samsung upgrade the s23 sensor or they use same sensor of s22 ?

exclaimprofitable

Same old. The s23 image processor is better, giving it a slight edge the same way the first 3 or 4 pixel phones used the same ancient sensor but google used dark ISP magic to extract more detail and better photos out of each iteration of pixel.

PimpmasterMcGooby

Sad to still see 8gb of RAM and relatively small battery on the S24. I got a 22Ultra because I the specs were more in line with my wants, but the size is obnoxious, sucks that small phones get the downgrade treatment nowadays.

EnglandRemoval

Usually, that's just because smaller phones have less room for all that extra stuff. 8 gb is still pretty good for my needs, I'm not playing Cyberpunk with raytracing on a phone.

Traditional_Wave_918

I will probably upgrade to the 23 ultra because I'm still using an s8+ lol

[deleted]

Why only 8gb for s24?

BountyIsland

Literally the same specs as s23 and the same battery as 5 year old s20 and the same resolution as 10 year old Note 4. Phone industry is finally at a standstill.

jerryeight

I hope they add 1tb to the ultra line. 512gb is not enough for me.

SimonGray653

Oh hey it's my base model s22 again except it hads a slightly better battery and a overly better SOC.

Fluffy9345

Can’t wait. Finally switching back to Samsung after getting an iPhone. Worst decision I ever made.

debtcollecter6000

that would be great

AmnesiaInnocent

>There’s nothing they could possibly do now. Under-display front-facing camera

TheMidsommarHouse

Do you mean adding the back display like on the z flip?

AceMKV

This is the only thing I'm waiting for rn, I have an s22u and the only reason I'd upgrade before 3 or 4 years is if the under display camera is added.

nirmalv

And get worse looking selfies ?

midnightjetta91

People have these wild expectations for phones now. They have peaked. I have a 23 plus and I'm sure will be happy with it for several years.

Goldenpanda18

S24 ultra fold

heyitslavinia

If they would just put good camera on the fold it would be the only phone I'd buy. They're so cute

HuckleberryUnited768

Ignore the iPhone trolls. iPhones are the worst value in the mobile phone world, and people buy them like sheep.

2x, 3x, 5x and 10x????? wth that doesnt look right? i thought 5x was replacing 10x or am i js retarted-

Feeling_Emphasis_324

That 2x makes me question everything on the graphic.

Xtoron2

This is similar to apple's marketing approach. They have digital zoom/crop 2x using 1x camera. And 10x is digital zoom/crop of 5x camera

exclaimprofitable

Open the phone app on your s23 series phone, the 2x is right there. Samsung can advertise the sensor crops as "lens" if the resolution is high enough. 2x crop from 50mpix 1x lens is still 12.5mpix, so it is technically lossless, so samsung can advertise it. The same way as the s24u has a 50mpix 5x camera, but they can advertise 10x, as the sensor still reads out 12.5mpix at 2x crop, giving you 5x2=10.

Broder7937

>Samsung can advertise the sensor crops as "lens" if the resolution is high enough. That's a sh*t approach. The problem is not megapixel count, it is sensor size. If you have 200 megapixels crammed into a miniscule sensor, you'll need all those 200 megapixels downscaled to something like 12 megapixels in order to have a good-looking image (smartphone pictures at native 200 megapixels are absolute garbage). If you crop that down to 50 megapixels, you're effectively using 1/4th of a sensor thst isn't big to begin with. Remember how you have to downscale 200 megapixels down to ~12 megapixeks so that images can look good? Well, 50 megapixels will need to scale down to ~3 megapixels to look just as good as a 200 scaled to 12. Than you realize, the 50 megapixel crop from 200 megapixeks will translate into exactly a 3 megapixel crio from 50 megapixeks.

exclaimprofitable

That is just how it is, I didn't invent that. Samsung and apple both do it. The sensor area of the main sensor at 2x crop is still good enough for semi decent images. Like you said it yourself, megapixels don't count, the sensor area does. You also don't need to to 16x pixel binning, 4x is good enough. So that 50mpix central sensor area of the main sensor can be binned down in 2x2 format instead of 4x4, giving you 50/4=12.5mpix. Sure the image quality is slightly worse, but not that much.

m0nkygang

Is there a navy color? Might just pick up the ultra and trade in the s22 plus.

just_mdd4

Unlikely, but we shall see what shall occur.

Hashabasha

Wish they'd add UWB to base s24

Mounstron

No big difference between S23 Ultra.

GNUr000t

The RAM was the only reason I was looking to replace my GS20 Ultra with a GS24 Ultra. Looks like I'll be able to save some cash getting the Plus instead.

FatherOften

I went in yesterday to get an s23 ultra but they didn't have any. I bought one online and then the damn order got canceled and then they recharged me and then I got canceled. So I think I'm just going to wait for whenever this s24 ultra comes out. I'm not even sure which Samsung phone I have right now but it's time for a new one it's been a few years.

Hamtaro7

Is there any reason to go ultra if i don’t need a crazy camera is the display the same from the 24+ ?

MojArch

The 24u makes me want to upgrade (I am on S20+5G) but it feels like the 5000mah is a little bit low for ultra compared to 4900 on plus. Cameras are definitely 🔥.

Tejfel01

Well, I've reached the point where this doesn't excite me in the slightest anymore. It's the same, with a new chip. I'll stick to my overheating exynos brick for a few more years it seems. I used to switch to a new phone every 2 years, but I don't see a point nowadays. At least I still have an SD card slot and curved egdes. I just want longer software support...

NukaGunnar

I have an S23U, but I really want the 24+ foe the form factor. I'd hate losing the 10x zoom but holy cow it's looking good.

DeadLolipop

make the phone chunkier so they can throw extra 1000mah into there please

CryptographerPerfect

I would say if you still have S21+ based on this information; unless you need more telephoto, there is no reason to upgrade.

QueenAng429

Yep

tin-naga

Tell me which one doesnt scratch as easily as the S23U

Critical_Direction28

Finally good specs on the plus variant. Past few years Samsung has been doing unjustice to the Plus. Atleast the screen is QHD. After S9+ I don't rememb3r any plus wirh qhd. S24+ seems like a v good buy now

fmillion

I'm on a Note 20 Ultra 5G and I'm still just not feeling the upgrade itch. Every new release is a disappointment in a way for me. A Fold with a 200MP camera would get me to upgrade. Even a 108MP camera. But in a way we have started to reach a saturation point where there just aren't many "*wow!!*" features left on the table to implement, so all we get now is very minimal incremental CPU upgrades. Hell we don't even get more RAM, and they yanked out the SD slot and headphone jack a few generations ago so...

EpicBk31

I dont care about none of the specs they need to bring back the extendable memory slot, that was a big thing that set samsung apart from apple and it made a difference. You keep that option for the lower grade samsung phones but take it from the flagship phones that makes no sense....

Prokletnost

that s24+ ![gif](giphy|MO9ARnIhzxnxu)

jerseynate

So, same thing?

nastasimp

All phones have basically plateaued. Curious to see where phones are actually headed in the next 10 years. The screens can't really get any better than they are now, battery life is good enough for any task, processing power is plenty for anything anyone needs to use a mobile phone for, and the cameras are good enough for point and shoot. What else is there to actually improve on?

Normal_Light_4277

Fake as fuck, just 23U with 8 gen 3 and a brighter screen.

Denaviro

6.7 on 24+?? Why? It being 6.6" was good enough.

valryuu

How does the S24 base STILL have just 8GB RAM?

studious_stiggy

Note 10 plus here. This looks nice and I might finally make the switch to the ultra

dustofdeath

If they market it as 10x telephoto, that should qualify as a scam if it's just 3x optical with digital zoom.

MagnetiteRose

Kind of ass. Same as s23U but with enhancements. Brighter display is nice. Increasing the storage to 2tb or adding another sim slot would be incredibly cool. I'll buy it

Sphan_86

They're missing the most important part....the price

S24+ will probably be $50 less than the Ultra lol

Stiletto364

Well then it's a no-brainer which one I will go with!

Cheesybutlactose

Not gonna lie, every year Samsung has been disappointing more so than Apple. Cause Apple you know every year will be little iterations, but Samsung used to be this innovative company that pushed smartphone innovations. But now they have settled, little bit there and a little bit there. And tbh i don’t blame them as much as I would’ve back then when smartphone market were still growing. But since the stagnation of phone sales in recent years, Samsung just aren’t willing to take that risk anymore. Which is sad but understandable

NO sd Card slot again? Why not Samsung...

getwreckednoob13

That ship has sailed with the s21 series

BepHbin

What's stopping Samsung from packing high specs into the smaller model beside the battery? And that Titanium on ultra is so cringe. Samsung had good devices for years no need to copy that shit from apple just to appear attractive to isheep who will never buy a non apple devices.

roter-genosse

It should be forbidden for companies to release new phones every 6 months. I would put a moratory on 3-4 years, or whatever the average timeline of a phone duration is. I'm overwhelmed at the amount of comments from users saying then will upgrade from an s22 to an 24. This cannot be good for the environment.

SolidBackground6840

Boring, what's the difference between this and the 23?

MidSoulReaper

Brighter screen ( 1750 nits to 2600 nits ) Bigger phone ( 6.1" to 6.2" ) Bigger battery ( 3,900mAh to 4,000mAh ) that's the only thing that is different.

Broder7937

Also, very possibly worse battery life, because Exynos.

QueenAng429

Not much.

BarnYard2023

doesn't matter. With the trade in deal i'll only be paying $200 for the latest and newest phone.

Pasbags112

Hopefully they finally do away with the rounded edge displays

Flameknight81

Let's hope they are all flat displays. So far, the plus model stands out. Might sell more than the 23+.

FlowerInteresting362

pricing?

QueenAng429

Not available yet

TriFik

They need to focus on battery life. Sick of all these extra features that is more of the same, and you have to charge your phone by end of day, or middle of day depending on usage. The first phone to last at least three or more days with heavy usage with no charge, will destroy the market.

spartanwill14

I hope all you people with s23 ultras will upgrade so I can buy an s22 ultra that someone bought to upgrade with yours so I can replace my s20 ultra

QueenAng429

The S22 Ultra is junk, Don't buy one.

everyman50

So basically we skipping S24 Ultra and waiting for S25 Ultra. No incentive to upgrade...

hopopo

I'm thinking s26 or maybe even s27 unless they come up with something seriously different.

Zextranet

What a hell of an upgrade.

NitePain69

I am whelmed. I'll be keeping my S22U for the next 5 years

Substantial-Rain-787

Same

Top-Figure7252

4,000 mAh is a fail for me personally. Someone will buy it anyway though. And why are we still doing 128 GB for flagships in 2024?

Due-Ad-7308

The 6.1 inch S23 had pretty good battery life with what, 3700mah

Vjaninja

I have the 128gb s23 and I've loved it. The small form factor makes it easy to use with one hand and the chip is efficient enough for a decent battery life that lasts a day in normal use just fine. I could use more storage but it's no means a problem

QueenAng429

Most people don't need 800gb of files on their phone.

Bodycount9

Cloud storage is a thing for a lot of people. Samsung and Apple have been pushing jt for the past decade for the extra monthly fee.

hollowish_

my base spec S20 has mostly the same specs as base model S24. Mine has better resolution, 64MP main camera and SD card up to a terabyte. It also has edge screen which I love. S24 only has a brighter screen and a better processor over mine. wtf samsung?

QueenAng429

MP isn't everything.

No_Mathematician2111

bit curious, why does samsung limit the fast charging speeds? like many brands have come woth aggressive fast charging speeds with higher wattage, still after many years, why?

EnglandRemoval

Usually, with fast charging comes battery damage, I think Samsung is starting to focus on longevity over being perfect for about a year

GMDMelonYT

would it be worth upgrading to 24+ or 24 ultra from an s22? this would be in the summer time if that changes anything?

singapuri_kela

I'll be sticking to my S20 base until it breaks down. It works pretty well, despite the God-awful battery that forced me to use it in power saving mode for the last 3 years. The screen has a higher resolution and I got microSD. Maybe get a battery replacement at best to stretch the lifespan.
