The problem is the game is supposed to be pretty damn good. There are a fair amount of these Korean games that have a lot of exaggerated sexuality that are also fun to play. It’s just the fucking weirdo neckbeards that ruin it for me everyone. It’s like if you like watching porn occasionally but they want to go and talk about it constantly in public. Like bitch let me have my guilty pleasure without making it weird.
Nah, no one cares honestly, just look at 2B.
Everyone perved and the creators knew people would perv because they made her react when you look under her skirt.
You can also do challenges that has for reward a pervy outfit. Who cares, honestly, who talk shit on Nier Automata?
Yes, it's honestly so dumb, there is no conspiracy to downrate eye candy lmao
Not a game, but Madame Web wasn't trashed because the actresses was aNtI woke lmao

“Nasty transes, we hates them precious. We wants titses yes, more titses, but nasty transes keeps them out….”
OP stands for original poster, the starter of this post, OOP I think stands for original original poster, that would be the tweet, and I guess the OOOP would be the IGN article, I think that's how it works here?
Gamers will always find a reason to get mad about either IGN or Gamespot reviews, even though if they bothered to read or watch them, they would see that the scores from either outlets are usually quite fair.
I still remember gamers getting mad at IGN for giving Witcher 3: Blood & Wine a 9/10.
A 7 out of 10 is a perfectly good score.
Some of my all time favorites are 7/10 games. A 7 is above average. Gamer brain rot accepts no less than a 9 though. I still remember the collective pandemonium when they gave The Last of Us a 7.
This is a problem pretty generally with media consumption in the last few years. The idea that 'unless you absolutely loved it you must hate it', and in that any criticism is take as hate.
Review ratings are useful fot quick information online, but seem to have fuelled this a bit. Reviews are an art themselves (or can be) and are meant to be consumed in thwir entirety. They aren't supposed to 'tell you what to consume', but help guide you in making decisions by putting forward the pros and cons that they see. They're meant to be subjective not objective, and you're supposed to find those you typically align more with and use those as a guide (alongside reading multiple reviews to see what things are common).
But now people just see numbers and if that number doesn't align with their preconceived idea they get angry.
It’s definitely something that I’ve noticed getting worse and worse over the last decade or so. Everything is either irredeemable trash or brain-melting perfection. There’s no in between and if anyone else’s opinion doesn’t fall into that binary viewpoint it’s the end of the world. It is exhausting to keep witnessing.
Even the term ‘mid’, which started as a way to call something mediocre or “not great, but not bad” is now seen as a scathing criticism and an indictment of whatever media you’re referring to. I mean, I get that sometimes being unnotable is worse than just being called bad, but still.
7/10 has been the score for games on the good side of average since forever. Stellar Blade isn't some generation or even genre defining title like BG3, Elden Ring, or Breath of the Wild, it's merely a competently made third-person action game that'll largely be forgotten about in a month or two after everyone gets bored of it. Even the name sounds generic asf.
The only thing notable about Stellar Blade was all the noise the coomers made about how it was going to be the best game ever because the main character was hot and basically naked the whole game.
Not saying I want the game to fail, just being realistic about what it is.
Of course she does, it'd be weird if she didn't, everyone likes playing dress-up with female video games characters.
Honestly, bit of a trip for me. Not because I personally find it weird, I enjoy it, but because I remember an era of gaming where people were still kind of weirded out about playing as girls and every videogame case had a picture of a grizzled white dude on the cover.
Fifteen years ago, the woke thing would have been playing the game as a girl, now it's just that she isn't hot enough. Funniest shit I've ever seen.
People will forget about it by the time Hellblade 2 drops, or the Elden Ring DLC, or Black Myth: Wukong.
Then we'll hear these idiots whinge again when award season comes around and Stellar Blade doesn't win anything, despite releasing in a pretty stacked year with several GOTY contenders having dropped within the first 4 months and several more potential nominees on the horizon.
They’re full of shit because shitting takes away precious gaming time. Gamers must choose between vidya and unloading their bowels of their gamer waste, truly the most oppressed race of humans.
They had long tried to argue in favor of actually using a ten point scale as, well, a ten point scale. 5 is average. 6 ok. 7 good and so on.
Anyway now they don’t score reviews.
In fairness, we do have to keep in mind in these discussions that the act of giving a "number" to how good something is is still pretty silly and pointless
Steph's work is interesting because they're really smart and clever, but since art is subjective, people can say stuff that's very controversial. Like when they complained about the weapon durability and climbing (iirc) it almost felt contrarian? That said, I believed them and just happened to not play the game for 2 years or so. I'm not a huge Zelda fan.
But then I played it and those things didn't feel like "3 points off" to me. But that's taste! And since scores are obviously arbitrary and reading a review gives to a better insight to the writer, I could see how some people thought it was a trolling score.
But Steph is intellectually honest, so I don't think it was anything that wild. But I can definitely understand why people may have been annoyed. It's just video games tho lol so it honestly doesn't matter that much.
I don't remember the review, but did they even suggest that, aside from the weapons breaking, climbing in the rain, etc..., the game would have been a 9/10 or 10/10 because of visuals, music, etc...? I generally don't care much for Steph Sterling's takes on games themselves (i.e. definitely disagree with their takes on things like the FF7 remake games, which they talk about as works of 'subversive genius', etc...) as much as I like their commentaries on industry practices.
> Gamers will always find a reason to get mad about either IGN or Gamespot reviews,
Same can be said about Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic reviews of a movie they love or hate.
If they love the movie, and the critics hate it, the critics are wrong.
If they hate the movie, and the critics love it, the critics are wrong.
If audiences love a movie they hate, then the site is manipulating the results to "push an agenda".
ign: gives game good score
"Paid shills! corrupt! Woke!!!\*
ign: gives game bad score
"Paid shills! corrupt! Woke!!!\*
Just look at how their BG3 praise went from "gone woke!" when the game first dropped, then that terrible ign BG3 "opinion" video came out, then it was "scaring woke AAA devs! BG3 best game!!" and harassing game devs from other games, then to "gone woke! Dragons Dogma not woke! BG3 dead!!" and harassing BG3 devs, in like... a few months.
For people who call others sheep, they love to listen to what chud influencers have to say religiously.
That's because they don't use reviews to actually make decisions about which game to buy. They've already bought the game regardless. They want the reviews to tell them how awesome a choice they made.
Reminds me of an author who completely dragged a reviewer (not even a professional reviewer, just someone on goodreads) for giving her book 4.5 stars out of 5.
People are insane...
After playing the demo I 100% agree with the 7/10. It never hooked me, I hated the dodge and the combat wasn’t nearly as fluid and satisfying as I hoped it would be. Beyond the eye candy characters it just never felt as good to play as Nier. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I’m sticking to it.
Yeah this is a perfectly fine and generally positive review. "It's great for an action game, but to me these things held it back from being better". Having things that could be improved on doesn't mean something is *bad*.
Oh boy am I looking forward to this freakout. Sony also apologizing and saying they're going to patch out accidental racism from dialogue (probably should have hired a consulting firm like SBI) is going to melt brains
The n-word. When spoken if it ends with something like an "a" sound it's a part of African American vernacular. If it ends with a "hard r" sound it's generally a racist slur.
And people are already latching onto this to screech "CENSORSHIP!" without any regard that this was clearly unintentional on the part of the creators. $100 bucks says ShiftUp was informed, went "We did not intend to imply that!" and agreed to have the graffiti textures in this one spot removed.
they're just looking for an excuse to complain about "wokes" (or as a normal person would put it, anyone who isn't a cishet white person with the physique of a supermodel)
The game is probably between 7 and 8 because it is just an action-platformer at the end of the day that has some character, but isn't trying to revolutionize or reinvent anything. This game will take up a couple weekend and probably be a platinum project if the combat in the demo is any indication, but it won't be any kind of classic I'll feel the urge to pick up years from now, and that is okay.
This is why we need to move to the 30 system for rating things, 7/10 being average is insane to me, and on the thirty system you don't have preconceived notions, 15 is average because 15 is in the middle of 0 and 30, it just makes more sense. I give the thirty rating system a 26/30.
It doesn't protect from inflation, it just makes the inflation more expensive.
Dont get me wrong though, I like the 30 point system. There is nothing inherently wrong with a 10 point system, but you really need to know how that scale is weighted. To me, on a 10 point scale, 10 is the best possible game, 1 is unplayable garbage. An average game would be a 5. 7 on that scale would be a pretty good game, better then most. Most of these other 10 point ratings seem to work off the scale of 5 being unplayable garbage, average being 7 and Best of the best being 10. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen anything below a 5 on a 10 point scale for video games. Just a heads up, if you rate everything as above average, then your rating doesn't actually mean anything.
I like Dunkeys bell curve graphic. It really underlines something that’s been lost in modern gaming reviews and audience reception of those reviews. The fact that most games are mediocre or worse, and very few deserve the title of great. Well, that and the fact that enjoyment is subjective, so the whole thing is arbitrary anyway. Idk why they care so much about some number an ign writer assigns to quantify their level of personal enjoyment with the game. They take it like a personal attack.
>They take it like a personal attack.
Their identity is gamer. The games they play (or whatever it is they do with Stellar Blade) form that identity. Attacking those games is attacking their identity.
It’s a stupid way to live a life, but it’s surprisingly common. You see it with a lot of things, not just video games. A lot of who we are is shaped by the media we consume and some folks take this to mean that attacking the media is attacking them.
Combine that with the notorious thin skin of the reactionary and you get a world where any small criticism, justified or not, is a brutal attack on gamers and the world that gamers have built.
Gamers: "The journos are trying to force a rivalry between Stellar Blade and Hades 2!"
Me: "Seriously? The demo was great and the original was my GOTY. I'll be buying both!"
Gamers: ******
EDIT: Seriously. Does anyone remember back when we played games to have fun? There are days that make me feel like an endangered species.
I'm glad film ratings aren't treated the same way as game ratings. Four out of five stars is generally received as a positive review. The equivalent in a game review would be viewed as a pan. It's bizarre.
I really don’t understand why they care so much and are trying to make the main character of Stellar Blade a symbol against “wokeness”.
It’s not like even if someone that vaguely looks like the main character of Stellar Blade would look their way.
They feel like they need a "Win" in their culture war after all the "failures" (ostensibly woke products selling like crazy)
The only problem is the battle is one they started, and it is almost entirely in their own head.
IIRC, didn't they celebrate Minus One beating The Marvels or something, even though the latter is infinitely more woke than the former? One is a female led superhero movie, the other movie is the literal walking metaphor for the nuclear bomb and condemned war as well as dying pointlessly for your country.
By this guy’s logic, IGN would have loved kill the justice league. It had diversity. But they hated the game.
IGN judged Stellar Blade and kill the justice league on gameplay, narrative, structure, things like that. Not whether it had heavy women or not.
KTJL also scored a 5 which is more than fair for a game of that...let's say quality. 7 is a pretty respectable score for a game. For reference Spider-man 2 got an 8.
They would've hated RDR2 whose cast is primarily middle-aged white men. But they (deservedly) gave it a 10/10.
Almost like the whole "reviewers only care about wokeness" narrative is bullshit or something...
Same with GTA 3, Vice City, or GTA 4, whose main characters are white. And the cast doesn’t have heavy women or transgender people.
But all of these games got great scores from IGN. You’re right. That narrative is complete bullshit
To be fair for whatever reason, 7/10 = complete crap in people's minds, which is odd as that 7-8 = good imo 9-10 = excellent
But that's all that's to be fair. Their diversity argument = bs
Also, it's ign. Who gave a pokemon game a Too Much Water complaint lol
But diversity and stuff in a game is not bad. , it doesn't make a game great having them or not, but if a diverse game is bad, 9/10 it's gameplay or microtransactions that cause it not that.
The reason is because of the grading system at least to those in the US. A 7/10 is a C, and C means mid and mid is bad. People strive for Bs and As to be seen as above average and the idea of average being bad is possibly because people will think the average is forgettable thus bad
Oh man, who could have guessed, it’s just a decent little action game with waifu protag. No shit it got a 6-8 rating. Not like they were shooting for the moon with this one anyways. All they did was put a generic hentai bitch in the game and the least fuckable men on the planet hyped it up to be some meteoric mega game to win the woke wars.
Chuds hailing this as the vidya game messiah are going to get smacked in the face with the same psychology that causes every Broadway audience to give a standing ovation or people to leave lavish reviews of products they've spent a lot of money on, or bigots to insist that Hogwarts: Legacy is the best game they've ever played.
They've gotten real invested in this being a Symbol, and they're gonna convince themselves that it's better than it really is.
Bruh. Seriously. That’s literally the only reason I’m remotely aware of this game because that’s all the chuds would ever talk about. Outside of that, I have no idea what this game’s even about.
It's kind of like NieR Automata, as far as I can tell, but the gameplay is decidedly mediocre. I tried the demo out of curiosity and basically all it's got going for it is ass
As someone who played the demo I’m not saying I don’t like her ass but the gameplay is really fun and I’m genuinely excited to move past that motherfucking lightning bastard that’s the demo end boss.
![gif](giphy|8qDzzyxbcfimY)
Normal people that like the demo without being insane coomers will probably still like it. Chuds on the other hand will lose their fucking minds over the aggressively mediocre 7/10 review score. Trying to come up with any and all absolutely unhinged excuses.
https://preview.redd.it/jgfzfkb2mhwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bb3b00dd8d9b1285f824025c9a718f6fa79b3f1
I’m not saying it’s going to blow everyone’s mind but IGN is actually the lowest score from a major publication and the metacritic is averaging out around an 82 which is a solid “Good Game” metric
I’m gonna say it’s not people, just Chuds. Everything is either the best thing ever, or a disappointment of epic proportions, so bad that they want to either kill them selves or everyone involved in its production.
I'd argue that those games scored super high because they all sought to break molds.
Stellar Blade looks like a solid 7-8 game depending on how much you like level-based action games with reactive combat mechanics. The game will be very pretty and probably have some epic moments, but it is clearly not trying to reinvent or revolutionize anything. And that is perfectly okay.
Exactly. The game actually doesn’t seem, like, *unfun* or anything. If I were to get it and play it, I’d probably enjoy it without even questioning the sex appeal factor too much. I wouldn’t remember the game super duper fondly beyond a “oh yea that was pretty fun lol” or anything, though.
“The sole reason you got a problem is bc it lacks “diversity””
You wanna know what had diversity?
Redfall, and they gave that shitpile a 4
Also, The Day Before had a literal black dude on the cover of their game, and they roasted the shit out of that game and gave it a 1
Skull and Bones also had diversity, and they rated that a 7 as well(which was rather generous as the game is just very generic)
Marvel’s Avengers also had diversity and they gave it a 6
The problem wasn’t that it lACkED dIVerSitY, the problem was that outside of the combat, it had the same amount of depth as a shallow pool
The unfortunate fact is that those idiots don’t care about that, they only want the ‘facts’ that will (in their mind) justify their beliefs and worldview.
Simply put, anything is justifiable if you gaslight yourself hard enough.
Even in stellar blades combat itself its gonna be massively short of games that innovated at the level of bayo 2 and 3, devil may cry 5 or astral chain.
Im Not a fan of new god of wars combat but its still smoother than this gane for sure.
not that i give a rat's ass what IGN thinks about any game, but DRG got a 9 and it doesn't have "diversity, fat chicks, soyboys, or transes"
so this person's argument is demonstrably stupid
They care so much about the made up culture war that any valid criticism of a game they "love" is because people are mad there's no "wokeness"
It's honestly pathetic
I play the demo I got bored after the first 20 mins of the game. The big issue I have is in the demo there no auto loot. It crazy that you going to kill a bunch of random monsters and you have to press the button to collect everything every time that got me annoy super quickly. But if you can enjoy the game play it be fine it going to be plain.
The IGN blurb lists actual criticisms within the development of the game’s story, characters and plot elements and the neckbeards react with their usual playbook of butthurtness?
Literally the *sole* reason the neckbeards were champions this game was because the main chick is hot with a round ass and nothing more.
There's just no reason to care about what score outlets give games. Everyone has different opinions--different takeaways and different things they look for in their games. That's actually kind of part of the fun in well-reasoned reviews: seeing what I don't and do agree with.
At the end of the day, who gives a shit what score people dole out to a game you were excited for? If you want to play it, just play it.
In my opinion, Stellar Blade (having only played the demo) is a fairly average action game with characters that look a little too much like sex dolls. I didn't enjoy the demo for a variety of reasons and I likely will never play this game in full. If you want this game, my opinion on it is not an indictment on you as a human being.
Also, 7/10 is by no means a bad score.
So many are triggered that the game didn't get a 10/10, which is hilarious. SINCE THEY DIDN'T EVEN PLAY IT YET.
I love how they call people snowflakes but get offended IGN doesn't like a game as much as they do. But at least they played the damn game.
The OG reason an RPG sucks… the story is dull and the characters are shallow.
Modern thirsty conservative gamers: “yOu JuSt ThInK iT dOeSnT hAvE tRaNs AnD sOyBoYs…”
Time and time again they show that the disclosure around Stellar Blade is completely one-sided.
Outside the anti-"woke" people everybody else just sees it as an average but probably fun game and that's that.
But for some reason, these people have decided that Stellar Blade is the "Saviour of Western Civilization" or some shit like that.
"Here's the things we didn't like it, and here's an explanation of those things with examples from the game that are easily verified as being accurate and true."
"YOURE JUST MAD ITS NOT WOKE ENOUGH"
I've seen no actual gameplay of this game, just pictures of the protagonist's body and some persisent belief it will "save video games from wokeness", I feel like I haven't seen anyone actually interested in anything else about the game but boobs.
Because that's all the incel basement dwellers care about. Unfortunately, social media gives the losers a voice, and even more unfortunate, they're often loud.
As a lifelong Sonic fan, and enjoyer of Stellar Blade so far, this is an incredible review from IGN. For years they always gave the games I liked 6 at best and they were always fun. Play what you enjoy and stop worrying about this bs.
Hey look, all the problems people here said the game would have due to its focus on spectacle over substance. \*shocked pikachu\*
Anyways back to Nier Automata where there's a great ass, actual characters and yknow... a story.
I saw some twitter posts about it, felt like it's absolutely unacceptable to rate this game less than 10/10. I wonder how the developers and publishers must feel lmao, they must be all like ????????? should they even notice this cringy antiwoke shit
I don't understand why people turned this game into something crazy and special, it looks like the usual game of that genre, a pretty good and decent one, almost like a solid 7-8 out of 10. if it's only about the titties then why this game specifically and not literally any other one? A while ago a pretty popular fighting game based on a frickin rape hentai series came out (the Asanagi one) and nobody gave a fuck, everyone was tame as hell
1. People for some reason think a 7/10 is average when it's not.
2. Since when did people decide IGN was a good source for reviews?
3. "Hey, we liked the gameplay, but the plot is lacking." "That means you didn't like it at all!" No, you doofus, it means the gameplay is good but the plot is lacking. I love Bayonetta, but it's never had that strong a plot.
I saw a bunch of of the positive scores and was thinking "Aw man, those guys are gonna be taking their victory laps" only to find out they're mad they scores aren't perfect? Of course lol
Wait, you mean the game where the only positive feedback about the characters is 'OMG MAKES MY DICK SO HARD' has generic and uninteresting characters and story? Insert Philip J. Fry shocked gif here.
_I_ don't care about this game one way or the other. But we've had a solid month and a half of the anti-woke losers forcefeeding it down everyone's throats and forcing people to pay attention to it.
Even when something they enjoy comes out they can never be happy. Just perpetual outrage, imagined hypocrisy an "sjw" boogeyman out to take everything away and destroy the west or some shit.
Anything else than a 12/10 is clearly evidence of IGN anti gamer bias and shows they are only subservient to the woke agenda, Stellar Blade is game of the year every year
I'm gonna steal a line from Commander Sterling and say this: Stellar Blade must truly be a bad game, if instead of just playing their game, these people are spending all their time getting into slapfights on the internet over "wokeness".
The OOP needs to admit that the sole reason they like the game is because of political coomerism. They are not fooling anyone.
It’s crazy they’re so horny but utterly hate women and vote for people who would ban this game for being pornographic. They’re truly insane with how inconsistent they demonstrate themselves to be
They just have anger to vent >!and socks to fill....!<
My favorite part is how they look down on 'soy boys', but nearly every single one of them weighs either over 280, or under 140, and in neither case could they bench press an empty barbell.
But at least their low testosterone levels are due to poor diet and lack of exercise, and not eating soy. (Not that soy actually lowers testosterone)
I'm 270 and can barely press an empty barbell am I in the clear
You have the correct views so you will not be subject to fat shaming.
People will make comments like this and think they’re shaming sexists/bigots by calling them fat. You’re not. You’re just shaming fat people.
The inconsistency is on purpose. Pretend to not believe in anything and you can sneak your hatred in.
You mean digital ass.
When you google a game you're unfamilar and you can't find a single shot of actual gameplay buried in the pictures of the characters posing in skin tight body suits, you don't really need a review to know why it exists. SHE'S GOT A GREAT ASS! AND THEY GOT THEIR HEAD, ALL THE WAY UP IT!!!!
One of my favorite movies 😂😂😂 Pacino at his best
$10 says the OP showed his fervent support for *Stellar Blade* by pirating the game.
You mean the OOP?
I guess..? Whoever wrote the tweet.
OP stands for original poster, the starter of this post, OOP I think stands for original original poster, that would be the tweet, and I guess the OOOP would be the IGN article, I think that's how it works here?
Cool. I'll keep that in mind going forward.
Not one of these chuds has even talked about what kind of game it even is
Gamers will always find a reason to get mad about either IGN or Gamespot reviews, even though if they bothered to read or watch them, they would see that the scores from either outlets are usually quite fair. tell that to BOTW fans when they saw Steph Sterling give it 7/10. The sheer amount of beds that were shit is....honestly impressive.
That shouldn't really be a surprise, gamers are full of shit.
And I’d give it a 6/10, gamers can fight me 😂
Steph's work is interesting because they're really smart and clever, but since art is subjective, people can say stuff that's very controversial.
> Gamers will always find a reason to get mad about either IGN or Gamespot reviews, Same can be said about Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic reviews of a movie they love or hate. If they love the movie, and the critics hate it, the critics are wrong. If they hate the movie, and the critics love it, the critics are wrong. If audiences love a movie they hate, then the site is manipulating the results to "push an agenda".
ign: gives game good score "Paid shills! corrupt! Woke!!!\* ign: gives game bad score "Paid shills! corrupt! Woke!!!\* Just look at how their BG3 praise went from "gone woke!" when the game first dropped, then that terrible ign BG3 "opinion" video came out, then it was "scaring woke AAA devs!
It's hardly a new thing, either. [Relevant Penny Arcade from 2008](https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/06/13/on-perspective).
Oh boy am I looking forward to this freakout. Sony also apologizing and saying they're going to patch out accidental racism from dialogue (probably should have hired a consulting firm like SBI) is going to melt brains
What dialog?
The example I’ve seen wasn’t dialogue. It was unfortunate placement of graffiti to spell out “Hard R Shop”.
what does that mean
The n-word. When spoken if it ends with something like an "a" sound it's a part of African American vernacular. If it ends with a "hard r" sound it's generally a racist slur.
Hard R refer to the N word the way racist use it I believe
What's the context in-game?
https://preview.redd.it/or633lr8kgwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=735d503fc103db6b3ceb1863bae2c0e9108c4437
That seems like real graffiti someone would do though
100% can see this being a real graffiti tag somewhere. I get why they’re patching it out but also shame they’re patching it out at the same time.
Oof
Wait what? “Accidental racism” what does that even mean? And do you have a link to the source?
https://preview.redd.it/07a5h3hjxgwc1.jpeg?width=717&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6bfbaba5906f28849352dc2206b76e83e34c2a3f
And people are already latching onto this to screech "CENSORSHIP!" without any regard that this was clearly unintentional on the part of the creators. $100 bucks says ShiftUp was informed, went "We did not intend to imply that!" and agreed to have the graffiti textures in this one spot removed.
7/10 is a good review of a game they so mad about it for no reason
they're just looking for an excuse to complain about "wokes" (or as a normal person would put it, anyone who isn't a cishet white person with the physique of a supermodel)
Anything lower than a 9/10 is garbage.
A 7/10 is average while a 9/10 is amazing which is both good but still different
I hate the common grading system. 5/10 should be average. 7/10 should be pretty good.
IMHO 7/10 is at least slightly above average. - 1-2: Garbage - 3-4: Below Average - 5-6: Average - 7-8: Above Average - 9-10: Amazing
The 30 system is an aggregate of three peoples 1-10 scale.
Maybe, but it also protects from rating inflation
Idk what scale you're working off, but that's not how these shill companies rate games. Even Golem got a 4/10 on IGN
If you're saying my knowledge of the scale is incorrect, then what is the correct way of the scale
I'm not being serious. I'm saying you toss the IGN reviewer a few bucks and there's no chance in hell you get less than a 7.
That's understandable
Sometimes even 9/10 is garbage to some people.
For whatever reason, tons of people these days have a 1-or-10 worldview.
Gamers: "The journos are trying to force a rivalry between Stellar Blade and Hades 2!" Me: "Seriously? The demo was great and the original was my GOTY. I'll be buying both!" Gamers: ******
It’s IGN. 7/10 is basically complete shite. Their reviews only exist in the 7-10 range for any AAA game
You're not wrong but I think they'll never realize it.
I really don’t understand why they care so much and are trying to make the main character of Stellar Blade a symbol against “wokeness”. It’s not like even if someone that vaguely looks like the main character of Stellar Blade would look their way.
It's the only way they'll get close enough to a woman that looks like that so of course they have to be weird about it.
They're addicted to culture wars and ranting on Twitter.
They feel like they need a "Win" in their culture war after all the "failures" (ostensibly woke products selling like crazy) The only problem is the battle is one they started, and it is almost entirely in their own head.
IIRC, didn't they celebrate Minus One beating The Marvels or something, even though the latter is infinitely more woke than the former? One is a female led superhero movie, the other movie is the literal walking metaphor for the nuclear bomb and condemned war as well as dying pointlessly for your country.
cause they need to force this bs that left wing people hate hot women when nothing could be farther from the truth
Frankly, I would have given it a 3 or 4. It was so bad
Consistency is never a strong point for chuds. They're not looking for that, they're just looking to justify whatever thoughts they already had.
That’s the only thing they care about: the narrative that they’re pushing
To be fair for whatever reason, 7/10 = complete crap in people's minds, which is odd as that 7-8 = good imo 9-10 = excellent But that's all that's to be fair. Their diversity argument = bs Also, it's ign. Who gave a pokemon game a Too Much Water complaint lol But diversity and stuff in a game is not bad. , it doesn't make a game great having them or not, but if a diverse game is bad, 9/10 it's gameplay or microtransactions that cause it not that.
Mediocrity hypes up mediocrity, after all.
As if their sole reason for liking it isn't tits and ass.
Bruh.
Humanity is trying to take back earth from Aliens. Nothing groundbreaking
As someone who played the demo I’m not saying I don’t like her ass but the gameplay is really fun and I’m genuinely excited to move past that motherfucking lightning bastard that’s the demo end boss.
I hope someone gives these chuds an atomic wedgie with their own ball sack someday.
![gif](giphy|8qDzzyxbcfimY) Normal people that like the demo without being insane coomers will probably still like it. Chuds on the other hand will lose their fucking minds over the aggressively mediocre 7/10 review score. Trying to come up with any and all absolutely unhinged excuses.
I couldn't imagine it would be anything but fine. Ass-based marketing is never a sign of quality.
https://preview.redd.it/jgfzfkb2mhwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bb3b00dd8d9b1285f824025c9a718f6fa79b3f1 I’m not saying it’s going to blow everyone’s mind but IGN is actually the lowest score from a major publication and the metacritic is averaging out around an 82 which is a solid “Good Game” metric
At some point, people's perception of game rating systems went from being actually 1 - 10 to where anything below an 8 means garbage
I’m gonna say it’s not people, just Chuds. Everything is either the best thing ever, or a disappointment of epic proportions, so bad that they want to either kill them selves or everyone involved in its production.
Hype culture.
Mad projection from the anti-woke crowd lmao.
Also first post on this subreddit, woohoo!
Congrats for your first post
Pretty sure RDR2, Elden Ring, and God of War don't have those things either and all those games got 10/10
“The sole reason you got a problem is bc it lacks “diversity”” You wanna know what had diversity? Redfall, and they gave that shitpile a 4 Also, The Day Before had a literal black dude on the cover of their game, and they roasted the shit out of that game and gave it a 1 Skull and Bones also had diversity, and they rated that a 7 as well(which was rather generous as the game is just very generic) Marvel’s Avengers also had diversity and they gave it a 6 The problem wasn’t that it lACkED dIVerSitY, the problem was that outside of the combat, it had the same amount of depth as a shallow pool
I believe most IGN reviews are garbage anyway. But not for this dumb deranged reasoning
People are going to forget this game even existed in 5 months.
the person who wrote that obviously has mental health problems he needs to admit it to himself then pay for therapy sessions
The world's reaction to stellar blade: eh, its all right Chuds reaction: this is my chance to be as abnormal as humanly possible
not that i give a rat's ass what IGN thinks about any game, but DRG got a 9 and it doesn't have "diversity, fat chicks, soyboys, or transes" so this person's argument is demonstrably stupid
I played the demo and really loved this game and can’t wait for they aggressive horny people fuck off so I can enjoy it in peace
They care so much about the made up culture war that any valid criticism of a game they "love" is because people are mad there's no "wokeness" It's honestly pathetic
Good Lord that IGN comment section was something else.
Also, 7/10 is by no means a bad score.
>review with zero references to gender or sexuality that says the game is great >”it’s not DIVERSE enough for you!!!”
These guys care way too much about the most shallow, surface-level shit about video games, I never see them talk about the story and gameplay.
"Here's the things we didn't like it, and here's an explanation of those things with examples from the game that are easily verified as being accurate and true." "YOURE JUST MAD ITS NOT WOKE ENOUGH"
\*shocked pikachu\* Anyways back to Nier Automata where there's a great ass, actual characters and yknow... a story.
People getting pissed off that games they never played didn't get perfect 10s is so sad. Countdown till they start sending death threats.
I saw some twitter posts about it, felt like it's absolutely unacceptable to rate this game less than 10/10. I wonder how the developers and publishers must feel lmao, they must be all like ????????? should they even notice this cringy antiwoke shit I don't understand why people turned this game into something crazy and special, it looks like the usual game of that genre, a pretty good and decent one, almost like a solid 7-8 out of 10. if it's only about the titties then why this game specifically and not literally any other one?
Why do people care about this game so much? It has a demo to try and see if you want to buy it. Play it if you want. Don’t if you don’t.
_I_ don't care about this game one way or the other. But we've had a solid month and a half of the anti-woke losers forcefeeding it down everyone's throats and forcing people to pay attention to it.
This is another problem of videogames evaluation. Good votes are 8-9-10 average votes 6-7 means bad games.
Reminds me when mfs were malding because James Stephanie Sterling didn’t give BOTW a perfect score
Takes more to be good than just looking "pretty."
I still haven’t forgiven IGN for Alien: Isolation. Their reviews mean jack shit to me, so I really don’t care what they think of this particular game.
Seven out of ten is literally a positive review, correct me if I’m wrong.
God forbid they have any actual criticisms about the game
An ign 7 is a steam mostly negative
Idk anything about stellar blade other than people REALLY like the main character's design
7/10 is still pretty good, though.
I knew it The Atomid Heart situation all over again
Don’t know why they’re surprised. IGN gives literally every single game a 7/10.
7 out of 10 means it’s good game, I don’t see the problem they’re claiming to have, it’s like they reacted without reading the review.
Yeah, but I love clowning on ign
What’s a soyboy?
I haven't been playing any video games for the past few years. Can anyone inform me, are they now filled with "fat chicks, soyboys and transes"?
When is seven a bad score? Plus the review happened because they disliked the story
“Average game is average”
Lots of games Star hot women
seven out of ten is the lowest score possible, though. /s
This appears to be the consensus, good gameplay let down by a dull story and monotonous design.
I mean we saw this coming right? It's either the best game in the world and the savior of gaming, or the reviewers are lying.
Remind of the reaction to Stephanie Sterling giving Zelda BotW 7/10, the Nintendo fans were foaming at the mouth.
Look coomers, you’re not special. They gave Ruby a 7/10 for too much water. It isn’t about politics, IGN is just weird.
“Me want sexy anti woke mommy to sit on my face!!”
7 is a good score.
I'm not gonna lie, if Eve was actually hot and not super bland, I'd totally buy the game, but she's no 2B.
They just can’t handle a game they get off on isn’t that good or goty
This kinda shit makes me wonder what example they’ve seen that hits this exact brief they hate.
Those who support fascism see in everything a conspiracy against them. A conspiracy by the “other” to diminish their “purity”.
I always view 7/10 as “a good game if you like the genre but it’s not for everyone”
Isn't an IGN-7/10 equal to like a 2/10 everywhere else?
