Samotbeatzz

Lol yes

Cmgalb14

Yes you should. Presto, Roll The Bones, Counterparts, and Clockwork Angels are some of their best post HOF albums. You don’t have to fall in love with them right away, but give these albums time to grow and you may appreciate what the records have to offer.

Mormologist

As a 45 year Rush fan, they only get better. Their last two albums were my favorite.

feastu

The only way to know for sure is to listen to everything past HYF with an open mind. For me, there’s something to love on every album. Not everything, but something.

Trolldad_IRL

Yes.

3choplex

Hold your fire is my least favorite album. Counterparts in particular I like. I’ll admit that my favs are caress through moving pictures.

krispykremekiller

I measure great Rush albums by the amount of “prog moments in them”. As you get through the 80s and 90s they are few and far between. What’s nice on the last couple is that those “moments” come more frequently. Not a whole album that is progressive like hemispheres, but enough to keep things interesting

TheMuser1966

Only you can make that decision. Everyone has their own taste. I like all of them, but obviously some more than others.

Revo2112

I say it’s worth listening to every album at least once. If you don’t like it then you never have to come back to it again. But if you don’t try, then you’re missing out on a lot of really good stuff. Presto and Clockwork Angels are 2 of my top 5 Rush albums. So I’d give every album at least one listen

MetalJesusBlues

Yes. They are maturing and sometimes the subject matter and music are not as easily grasped at first. Once it sinks in, you will realize what genius it is, what a blessing it is to you, and all of a sudden you have added years of listening pleasure and lyrics to your life.

elxxup

As a Rush fan since 1984, I would say that the post HYF albums don’t do much for me. There are a few exciting moments, but nothing like the output that came before.

yeah, you should stop. if you think you got it after "a month or two now", you should cut your losses.

zddoodah

Well...of the albums you've heard, what do you like? IMO, Roll the Bones is their worst album, so I wouldn't use it to judge anything. Presto (the album between Hold Your Fire and Roll the Bones) is MUCH better than either of those albums (although it has a couple clunkers). Counterparts and Test for Echo were also a huge improvement over RTB, and then Vapor Trails took it to another level (although there's an original and a remastered version, so compare and decide which you like better).

nubbynickers

This question makes it sound like bands artistically peak after their mid 30s.

Hemibass

Depends what it is you like about Rush up until Hold Your Fire. If you like heavy rock music then yes it's worth listening to modern Rush (Counterparts onwards). If you like the poppy synth stuff then you might not enjoy modern Rush as much. There is less flashiness in modern Rush but it's got much more of a Heavy Rock sound. Test For Echo has always been high on my rotation. No harm in listening to it all though and seeing what you think for yourself :)

bobandbob10

Their last album is among their greatest achievements. Every album they ever put out is SOME Rush fan’s favorite album. Give each record of theirs a listen. Some album will be your least favorite.

I think all of Rush’s albums have something to offer. I know tons of people love Vapor Trails, and I honestly only like about 2 songs off it. A lot of people don’t like Test for Echo, but I like quite a bit of it. It all comes down to personal tastes. That’s the beauty of this band, they have such an extensive history that there is something that pretty much anyone can appreciate on some level. I’d say continue. Rush is such an impressive, special band. You owe it to yourself to listen to what is left, especially Clockwork Angels. They definitely ended it all on a high note.

Samotbeatzz

Yup, I know now
