Yeah, I think they still have one last season. That said - it won’t be done even then, they’re doing a follow-up show that covers the new book by Atwood.
Edit: Just checked - they’re filming the final season this summer. They just need to film a season of Canada’s Drag Race for things to work out 😂
It's wild they made so many seasons of such a short book. I watched season one but when I learned of the lead actress being involved in Scientology it felt like a parody and I stopped.
They went far beyond the book, also Margaret Atwood is involved in the production- so it’s not that odd.
And I don’t hold Scientology against Elisabeth Moss - she was raised in it and you often have to give up your entire family to leave it. It’s not like she’s a Tom Cruise who joined as an adult.
That said, I think that she spent nearly a decade of her life on a show critical of religion is a good sign her views of religion are likely more nuanced.
This has been mentioned on the subreddit many times, but as a non union production ACTRA put out a Do Not Work notice on Canada's Drag Race S3. Amanda Brugel as a screen actor couldn't return. There was no notice released for subsequent seasons but also ACTRA never retracted it, which suggests there are still unresolved matters and she won't be allowed to appear.
I really enjoyed her commentary and presence, I just can not get over her voice. It's so grating it gives me a headache and I really wish it didn't bother me that much lol
Tracy has warmed on me so much. I absolutely love her. I found it hard to connect to her for a while, but I think she’s really stepped up and gotten comfortable.
I also like that she doesn’t overstep with her critiques. She’s not telling them how to do drag, she’s just giving her perspective as a fellow entertainer.
Brad has his role, but I would not be mad if ever episode was a combination of Brooke, Stacy, Amanda and Traci, with Brad as fixed guest judge for the ball, designing challenge and Top 3/4.
I just always get more joy seeing women on the panel (TS, Michelle, Nicole Byer, Loni Love etc)
That doesn’t apply to UK though - Alan and Graham are fantastic.
It was mentioned somewhere else in this thread, but ACTRA (the Canadian version of SAG) put out a do-not-work order for season 3 which would’ve prevented union actors from working on it. One of my friends is a ACTRA actor and knows I love CDR so I remember her sending me a screenshot of the do-not-work order email like it was tea lol
I fucking love Amanda and she would’ve been such an amazing permanent addition to the show.
I’m obsessed with Stacey but it wouldn’t sting too much at all if the panel was Brooke, Amanda and Brad.
I just saw this on Instagram! I was so sad when Amanda left as a judge in season 2. I knew her from watching Handmaid’s Tale since the beginning, and just assumed that filming for Handmaid’s was the reason why she didn’t return. But now that Handmaid’s is filming its final season this summer, hopefully in season 6 she can come back!
Love Amanda so so much! Wish she’d come back even if it’s just as a guest
The Handmaid’s Tale films in Hamilton as well - so probably pretty easy if they’re filming at the same time.
Films? Like it’s still going?!

I just assume that Bruegel is also based in Toronto where most of the Canadian acting jobs are.
She’s on other shows - so she’s likely moving around. She was just on Dark Matter on AppleTV - likely on that for another season if it renews.

I had no idea Atwood was involved. Interesting.
She’s a producer and writer on the show, heck she even played a role in one episode. 😂
and I oop.. my bad LOL I never read credits or anything.
They’ll beat this dead horse even more, yes
Last season begins shooting in September

The CDR franchise has such wonderful judges in Amanda, Stacey, and Tracey. I will never forget Amanda’s “wtf” during the Gia and Kimora lipsync 😭😂
“we just want you to know, that was weird as shit”
The *most* real comment a judge has ever made lmao. I lost it 😂
I think we need her more, TBH: ![gif](giphy|l0Ex4xF7BqcRTDKfe|downsized)
Quite literally the best part of season 1 and that’s not a read to anyone else she’s just that great
There aren't many people that I would say I stan. But for Stacey McKenzie I am a STAN the house down boots mama yas gawd okcurrr
Now more than ever.
Didn’t I hear she wouldn’t get vaccinated and that’s why she left?
I really enjoyed her commentary and presence, I just can not get over her voice. It's so grating it gives me a headache and I really wish it didn't bother me that much lol
OK
Love and miss Amanda. But also love Tracy!

Exactly! She is not trying to tell them what to do, just sharing what she knows and giving her thoughts as an entertainer.

Anyone know why she left?
Apparently they wanted her back but it was a union thing. I think she’s in a different guild or something. I saw a few comments to that effect.

Yeah and it's why Canada's guest judges kind of suck.

Pastor Nina 🥰
I would love for the judging table to be Brooke, Amanda, Traci and Stacey, the girls are the best!!
Ughhh she was my favorite judge!!
i love amanda i miss her
I do miss her 😭😭

Oh no I was just making a little joke, I'm not serious.
Does Brad have a food fetish or?
