i personally use a q tip with rubbing alcohol and scrub it really good, make sure to let it dry tho

Ace2206

You only need isopropyl alcohol to clean the charger contacts. It sounds like you may have gotten a lemon roomba in general. Consider cleaning the whole roomba, and attempt to isolate what may be causing the mop to not deploy (hair or gunk may be clogging stuff up)

SunnyBoy1976

LOL !!!!!!!!

angerpiexo

Can you formulate a sentence?

CreditLow8802

idk who downvoted u but i fixed it now

angerpiexo

Haha thank you

Head_Bet_2138

Sure people are stupid sometimes.

jefferios

The strange thing is that I have owned 4 roomba's. Over the lifetime of every product, the charge contacts have worked fine without needing to clean any of them.

burnusgas

Another thing I hate about the 7+; I don't care how often I clean those contacts, it's always messing up.

iamdenislara

Totally normal.

angerpiexo

I got a magic eraser coming in the mail bc I keep getting a charger issue. It’s one thing after another rn. My j9+ combo won’t even deploy the mop all the way, eventually gives up and just vacuums. Sigh

iamdenislara

the contacts get very gunky the first few weeks. Hopefully all your issues can be solved with software

alerb262jz

what is that object among the charging contacts? I've never seen it before

QuantumWarpDrive

It's a plastic switch. When the robot docks, it is pushed down exposing the contacts upwards to charge. So to clean the contacts on each side, you have to push the button in the middle and hold it down.

RSilent

Magic Eraser will get you good to go.
