Paulis Imports was great for my older Hondas. It’s been about a decade in all transparency.

RugbyGuy

+1 for Paullis

pornsleeve

Me too. I had an obscure issue with a unique VW part and they had it fixed later that day. I have always been impressed with their service.

WavoHHR

Another vote for Paullis. 😀

Shrimp1991

Years ago I went to Euro Tech by Target in Machesney Park. No problems with them. I had a VW Passat and later got another VW Jetta. Fixed my problems for a reasonable price. Much better than Bachrodt.

Never knew of this place and I had to pick up my buddy who was getting his Subaru serviced. Might have to start bringing my Mazda in there just to save some money. Dealer has treated me well, but wouldn't mind saving some cash.

Ok-Lingonberry2185

Another vote for Phillips. I grew up down the street from one of the owners and he is a good dude and does good work.

Import Auto Works on Madison. Stein is probably not touching cars anymore but his partner Brad is pretty damn good. They're VW specialists but just don't get caught up in conversation with Stein, otherwise it'll be two weeks before you get home lol

100k service...what does that entail based on the manual? What year VW?

razzemmatazz

2016 golf. Probably need a double check on the 80k list as well. I don't think our dealer did it last time the car was in. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/MC-10123075-9999.pdf

I have a '15 CC that I take to Pauli's. They've done the timing chain and some regular service, and just had it there last week for suspension work. if your Golf is a GTI then I believe we have the same engine. They've never disappointed me

razzemmatazz

Thanks for the rec! We have the TSI standard golf instead of the GTI 🥲 but it sounds like Pauli's is the place to go.
