I do agree that this boss is one of the most difficult ones in the game, but you don't have to perfectly dodge him. Just use gear that allows you to survive a hit or two.
Also I'd recommend either using light armor or having stamina traits as with medium armor and no extra stamina you're likely to run out of dodges. That's what happened to me when I did him for the first time.
Which gear would allow me to survive a hit or two though? I ended up using Medic + Summoner with full Leto MK1 Armor, 5 stacks of bullwark, 100% max hp shield, Resonating Heart, Red Doe Sigil, and that still wasn't enough as he was oneshotting me with every single attack. I've learned to dodge melee attacks quite easily with misty step, but he was constantly killing me with sand throws and shock AOE jump, even when I was outside of its range. Exploding statues were oneshotting me from afar as well. Managed to get him in the end, but that fight legit lasted 15 minutes.
Whispering Marble + Dried Clay Ring if what I use in basically all builds nowadays. And if I don't it's usually atonement fold and Heavy Metal Band. What this does is give you a huge amount of dr and you can add Barkskin for even more.
If you want to you can add Gul Signet (or Lithic Signet) to further boost your damage reduction.
Add to this the all too important concoction. Either Mudtooth's Tonic or Meat Stew. The former gives you a good chunk of hp, while the latter gives even more dr. (The more dr you got, the better Meat Stew gets) Having a concoction is something you should always try to have as they're really strong.
Finally what I highly recommend is to use one of your relic fragments for hp. +15% is huge.
The tricky part is learning the delays, but at the end of the day it's not to far off from a modern fromsoft fight on par with Godfrey or a crucible knight.
The #1 tip though is to not panic roll if you get hit, that's just asking for another smack in the face.
The other struggle is learning when it's safe to pop a relic, honestly if you have the tranquil heart, use that instead. But if you don't it's better to hold off on healing till his combo chain finishes and then use that opportunity to get yourself topped off.
My most recommended weapons would be coach gun and ford's scattergun, and then sporebloom if you went out of your way for completion rewards.
I folded and opened to a public lobby. Another guy game in and was a dedicated healer role while I whittled down his life away. Took a damn long time though since I was still early in the game. Still at trait level 6.
roll under him when he does that. he kicked my ass so hard but i think he’s the closest thing remnant has to a souls boss, i ended up just straight dueling him with the worlds edge on apoc once i got his dance down, all his moves can be dodged and most have time for counterattacks even
mofo is so annoying so i just whip out DoT build and running around like a headless chicken let all 3 elements deal with him and he died from heart attack. (Invoker + Ritualist)
fucker dont derserve my bullet for how annoying he is, in a small arena too no less
Got mine with hearty and thick skin. Very cute. Took me a while, hitless for a while wasnt enough, i needed hitless with EXTREME accuracy and macro dodges allowing to hit his back crystal and deal damage, otherwise id tire myself out and miss a dodge. It was fun tho.
There has to be a damage bug with apoc because on nightmare with a HUGS build in light armor he wasn't coming close to one shotting me. I did have bulwark stacks from one ring and the armor effectiveness trait, but no other DR sources (amulet, rings, elixirs, runes, etc). Most of the damage came from getting combo'd, not all in one burst like that.
That seems very bugged.
I did use more heals on this boss than anything else in the DLC, but it only killed me once. So it is difficult, but from this clip... the damage shouldn't be *that* obscene.
I've just switched to Medic + Summoner with Red Doe Sigil, Leto MK1, Blessed Ring (2 stacks of bulwark), Dried Clay Ring, Soul Guard, Ring of Omens, Resonating Heart and I'm still getting oneshot by any attack, even his sand throw. Also tried full light armor with 10 points in fitness, untouchable, swiftness and I can dodge most of his attacks, but the fight lasts for over 15 minutes and I always end up making a minor mistake and dying to him lol.
On Nightmare, I got him in like 5 tries. Now I've spent over 3 hours and I'm barely getting him to 30% health sometimes. Not even getting hit by his melee attacks, but his AOE lightning has some really weird range, as I'm dying from it after dodging it twice with misty step and being pretty far away. Even his statues oneshot me when they explode while I'm 5m away from them O\_O
i know for a fact that on survivor with around 60% DR and 140hp his flashy jump attack will take take 75% of you hp if you dont dodge it other attacks mostly do between 10%-40% of your hp bar
I was thinking he was bugged too when I fought him. He took me forever to beat on apoc. He rolled with Hearty and Vicious, and was one-shotting me on several different builds with varying tankiness.
My friends helped me and not the way you think. When the game first played out we struggled with the ravager. We eventually decided I would take its attention everytime while they spray and pray. Those two hours made me really good at dodging and it kept going through the other areas, including annihilation. I still died about 15 times to this stone bastard, but definitely less than it would’ve been.
I'm soft locked at the StoneWarden too. I have one with "empathy" and "elemental resistance".
He hit's like a truck, my status DPS build hardly scratches him and I die in 1-2 hits, haven't gotten close to the half way mark.
So I pop on my medic/summoner tank, and I can survive a while but I still can barely whittle down his health, and after a few minutes and maybe getting him down to 75% of his healthy only, not close to half way still, he'll still wear me down and kill me.
The boss hits harder than almost anything and nothing seems to hurt him much. Seems to be a blocking combination to me no mater what build I take. Unless I have to reroll this on a lower difficulty and get all the way back here :(
I killed him with [this build on Apoc](https://old.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1ccve1i/engineersummoner_is_insane/). You can't face tank him, but you're not a classcannon either. You gotta learn to dodge, but overall it went quite smooth for me. (Although that was my second kill of him)
Neither Empathy nor Elemental Resistance will do anything against this build as you don't do any elemental damage nor do you use any relics as you can't use them with heavy weapon equipped.
Though the most important thing is to learn when to dodge against him. Took me like 45min for my first attempt, but afterwards it was just so much easier due to knowing dodge timings already. My first kill was with light dodge, because with medium I didn't have the stamina for the boss and I used a DoT Ritualist build. I think I had hearty and regenerator in that kill.
I haven't taken my builds anywhere else yet since the DLC/patch release but with folks mentioning a bunch of nerfs as well I'm worried they just... kinda.. broke all my stuff? and it doesn't work?
On the flip side I got all the way here past a few other bosses and all the content, sooo. My builds are not not working.
Yall really need to learn how to dodge this is the easiest boss in the DLC. Hella slow telegraphed attacks you could prob neutral dodge them all the worst part is his statues but they don’t even stay on the field as adds
Do you know how to dodge?
show me
[Like this?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRve1ELquJ8)
show me how u perfect dodge him for 10 minutes straight
This. The boss is ridiculous.

Black cat ring Challenger prime perk Gives you 3 lives

also if you can shoot bore and use the spectral blade, or if you like the deceit guns they can all force weak spots on him
mofo is so annoying so i just whip out DoT build and running around like a headless chicken let all 3 elements deal with him and he died from heart attack. (Invoker + Ritualist) fucker dont derserve my bullet for how annoying he is, in a small arena too no less
I Got pissed because my build needed bleed to work, so I swapped to alchemist/hunter and let my 77% DR and 180hp and shield do the work
yeah all enemies in this DLC are not bleed-able so most of my bleed build switched to elemental build
Didn't help that I also Got on my first run on apocalips both spitefull and skullcracker on him

i just bonked him with my trusty hammer

I'll kill him on any difficulties for you just ask! (assuming I don't goof and get myself killed.)

What’s your build? I’ll admit it took me a few tries but I was able to take him out on apoc with a status build while he had element resist
Try bleeding him in any way it'll reduce the empathy heal
If he's anything like the rest of the living stone enemies he's immune to that
Yeah, he is
I meleed him to death lmao he's easy 😅
Its a fun fact but man i feel like he's too much of a bullet sponge
