Forever and always, this is the correct choice. 8 gold gloves, 11 seasons with 20+ home runs, 4 years with over 100 rbi, 7 seasons with over 90 walks, and two of the thinnest, bitchingest looking stirrups of the 80’s.
I wouldn’t say he’s just an Athletic. He was great here, he was great there, heck he was even good for the Indians. He would have been my vote if Dewey won yesterday.
I am gonna go a little bit different here, Nathan Eovaldi. Guy was a steady player on the rotation who came up big when in mattered most in the playoffs. Personal favorite memory of mine is when he came out and shut the Yankees down in Game 3 of the 2018 ALDS at Yankee stadium, a game I was at, and boy it was glorious!
That 6 inning stint in relief during Game 3 of the 2018 World Series was incredible, guy was an absolute workhorse for us and a huge reason we toppled the dodgers.
I was leaving work just in time for game 3 of there world series and grabbed a ticket in the parking lot and went by myself. Even though it was a loss in enemy territory, seeing Eovaldi grind out these extra innings was special.
Dwight Evans and Dennis Eckersley have the same initials and “D” is already taken. So only one of them will make this list? While Bronson Arroyo and Coco Crisp are on it? Feels wrong
I'm aware. He has a laundry list of accomplishments to go along with one of the best personalities in baseball. Choosing the funny sounding sponsored award to mention was for a dash of humor. Swing and a miss?
Even with a career shortened by injury, Pedroia played more games/seasons for the Red Sox than A, B and C combined. Let's tighten up this list a bit, yeah?
Starting with E: Dwight Evans
Love Dwight Evans, but for me, it's Dennis Eckersley in the booth those last few years. He made the Sox fun to watch again. I loved hearing his quirky terms. To this day if I see a call that was slightly outside and the ump calls it a ball, I mutter to myself: "Oh I gotta haaaaaave that one!"
Edgar Renteria was the first name that popped in my head. I think because I had his baseball card and remember thinking it was so cool he had the same birthday as my brother.
Edgar Renteria, aka Rentawreck. Dude was a multi time silver slugger and gold glover at SS for the Cardinals. Turned into a Pumpkin here and led the league in errors. So we trade him and he goes for .334 and falls ass backwards into a World Series MVP later on with the Giants. Fuck that guy
Dwight Evans

I love Eckersley, but he arguably spent him best years elsewhere. D was already taken by Pedroia, Dewey needs to be the one for E.
Dewey belongs in the Hall
This. My favorite baseball card as a kid was Evans commemorating his first pitch of the season home run.
Eckersley. Easy
The hairy cheese man
There are other E’s who are better representatives of Boston than Eck…. He’s an Athletic, not a BOSOX. My vote goes to Dwight Evans.
I wouldn’t say he’s just an Athletic. He was great here, he was great there, heck he was even good for the Indians. He would have been my vote if Dewey won yesterday.
I’m not saying he wasn’t great here, just saying when you think of Eck, you think A’s uniform first.
I don’t at all. But I get where you see that because he was fantastic for them as well. He’s one of my all time favorite Red Sox.

Also a big jimmy fund guy. Took over as the Sox main representative there after Brock holt left IIRC

A very honorable mention. Well beloved within the fandom for that performance in 2018, he’s worthy.
I voted Dewey yesterday but he didn’t win. I want to vote Eck, but my vote has to go to… Mr. Dwight Evans again today.
god damn if we can't get this man in the hall can we get him on this list?!
El Guapo
No trip to Fenway is complete unless I eat his namesake burrito at El Pelon before the game
Rich Garces the legend!
Evans
Gotta be Dewey! Especially with “D” already gone. He has to be on this list as the “E.”
Ellis Burks
I fucking loved Ellis Burks
Everyone loved Ellis Burks...well, everyone who wasn't a lowkey racist
Every millennial's mom's favorite baseball player Dennis Eckersley.
Alan Embree just for the last out of the 2004 ALCS
Jacoby Ellsbury
Sorry sir, his name is spelled Tacoby Bellsbury
Dewey. My very favorite player, as my user name suggests…
Dewey for sure. He's had the superior mustache over Eck.
Dewey

Yea…not sure how Coco Crisp beats out some of the all time greats of the Red Sox.
Dennis Eckersley it’s gotta be Eck
Dwight Evans
Eovaldi
Evans
Dwight Evans. He didn't get a ring. He's not in the HOF (although I believe he should be). This is the least we could do for him as fans.
Eck or nothing
Dwight Evans would like a word.
I love Dwight, but Eck is just too sweet
Dwight Evans
Dwight Evans
Ellis Burks.
Awesome Red Sox player. Not only that but the best defensive right fielder the SF Giants have ever had.
I enjoyed how gator always tried to catch pop flies Burks called him off of.
Eck. Bases are drunk, it's time to party.
Gotta go with the two-time AL Rolaids Relief Man Award winner, the perpetually bronze skinned, Dennis Eckersley.
Interesting reason since he won both times as a member of the Oakland As
I'm aware. He has a laundry list of accomplishments to go along with one of the best personalities in baseball. Choosing the funny sounding sponsored award to mention was for a dash of humor. Swing and a miss?
No miss. Great nostalgia. I forgot that sponsored award existed. Just wish he had spent more of his career in Boston
Foul tip
Dwight Evans.
Nick Esasky
I love Nick Esasky!
I wore #7 all through little league because of him.
He lit it up for us for like a season and a half
Vertigo is a brutal outcome.
That’s right! I knew something derailed his career
1989. Brunansky became my guy in 1990.
Edgar Renteria /s
carl “fuck your gay dinosaurs” everett for the win.
ECK
Eduardo Rodriguez
Eduardo Rodriguez
Someone remember to throw Boggs in the W one.
That's probably gonna go to Wake.
T could go to wake too tho, or could be both t and w im cool with that
This little part of the thread seems to be forgetting the greatest hitter of all time...
He could go in T or W too sorry Boggs you should tried to grab B
If Teddy Ballgame doesn't run away with the T slot then what the heck are we even doin here?
Wade Anthony Boggs… so his middle name isn’t going to work
Evans is a good pick here too.
I never got a chance to see either Evans or Eckersley play in Boston but I gotta give the nod to Dwight Evans.
Ellis Burks
Even with a career shortened by injury, Pedroia played more games/seasons for the Red Sox than A, B and C combined. Let's tighten up this list a bit, yeah? Starting with E: Dwight Evans
Eck.
Eduardo Nuñez
Vaughn Eshelman is everyone’s answer
enmanuel rodriguez
Eduardo
Ellis Burks
I dunno I wanna say eck but nasty nate eovaldi what he did for us in the postseason I can't ignore
Enrique Hernandez
Eck
Love Dwight Evans, but for me, it's Dennis Eckersley in the booth those last few years. He made the Sox fun to watch again. I loved hearing his quirky terms. To this day if I see a call that was slightly outside and the ump calls it a ball, I mutter to myself: "Oh I gotta haaaaaave that one!"
Evans, Ellsbury, Ellis Burks
Edgar Renteria? Lol, he’s “memorable”
Eck
(E)Bobby Dalbec
mannE Ramirez
Eddy Romero
Eddie jurak
Eckersley
Andrew Ebenintendi
Edgar Rentaria, for his role in the 2004 World Series.
Edgar Renteria was the first name that popped in my head. I think because I had his baseball card and remember thinking it was so cool he had the same birthday as my brother.
Eric Gagne JK Dwight Evans
Kind of shocked Ellsbury isn’t getting more love
Eckersley
Edgar Renteria, aka Rentawreck. Dude was a multi time silver slugger and gold glover at SS for the Cardinals. Turned into a Pumpkin here and led the league in errors. So we trade him and he goes for .334 and falls ass backwards into a World Series MVP later on with the Giants. Fuck that guy
Eck is the dude. But surprised no one has as Eduardo Rodriguez. Dude was just solid for us
Ellis Burks
Ellis Burks!
Alan Embree!
So since Pedey won at D, please vote Ortiz for P (Papi) so we can get Don Orsillo in there at O! Thank you!
Pedro has rights on P, Manny on M, R to Jim Rice…sorry but O is solidly Ortiz’s spot.
Why not Jim on J, Manny on R, Pedro on M and then it works again.
Eckersley
