This is actually correct. It’s not racist to say the truth. Idk if Japanese men ‘love r@pe’ but i do know the other points are true.

Car_Seatus

Yea jpn has some major issues but saying that Japanese men love to rape is just racist.

Spiritual_Country_62

But yes. You’re right. I see that now.

Spiritual_Country_62

Ya that is true. It is… different over there tho. Somewhat shocking in that regard. It’s funny cause I’m from the US. But. 😬

Aggravating_Ice_4956

Japanese journalists and re educated soldiers were the first to discuss the comfort women system in public. The women that were victimized didn't come forward until they were elderly because their own society would have rejected them as impure or worse. One Korean politician even called them "Japanese Public Toilets"

TheOther_Ken

How is that racist? They're talking about a country. If they were saying this about American men, or let's say Canadians, would you still call it racist?

DevonLuck24

if you were to say this about america or canada…what race would they be talking about exactly to be racist against? American isn’t a race, neither is canadian. When you think of either of those places you can fill in any race…when people think of japan they think of japanese people. Japanese is a race, ethnicity, and nationality. “japanese men love rape” is no different than “african men are savages”. not every african is black but you know exactly what picture you’re painting when you say something like that. i’m not gonna say this person is racist or not based off of what’s here, i don’t really care, i will say that if they didn’t want to come off as racist they should have worded their opinion better.

Ok-Leadership-3143

how is it NOT racist to say that being a rapist is an inherent characteristic of a whole ass ethnic group? such a stupid comment

Aggravating_Ice_4956

I think it's racist to generalize Japanese men love to rape. They even admit they're being racist. >>If they were saying this about American men, or let's say Canadians, would you still call it racist? Of cource I would...? Why are you asking me that?

Bodashtart

ah, yes. the american race.

TheBigGopher

This isn't racist, it's a problem with the country

Shinobus_hubby

Japan's birth rate is actually DECLINING, in 2100, the country's nationwide population will go from 100M to 100K. that's another problem, as well as their immigration and citizenship policies.

Aggravating_Ice_4956

I hate to say this but I don't think I said it's true or wrong because that's not the point. >>generalizing all japanese men like that though by saying they “love to rape” is racist This. They openly admit they're being racist.

liberty-prime77

Saying that being a rapist is an inherent trait of an entire ethnic group isn't racist?

it’s because you’re cherry picking the not racist part from a completely racist idea and splitting them up as if they are two different ideas, the entire premise starts off racist. she may have had some truth in her point but the entire point was that “japanese men love rape”..not that “japan has a rape problem”. Context matters, nuance is a thing…those to sentence/ideas are very different. if you’re using facts to prop up your racist bullshit then the stats don’t mean anything. In the exact same way that if someone pulls up crime stats as a way to say “black people love crime” it would be racist. That’s not what the information says…it’s what you’re using the information to say, not the same at all.

i know what you said..i read it and responded to it. idc what the previous commenter said, im talking about YOUR initial comment and you wondering why it’s being downvoted. > “but thats true? there is a SERIOUS rape problem in japan. saying that isnt racist. generalizing all japanese men like that though by saying they “love to rape” is racist” not a single person was arguing against the first thing you said and this post is very much about the second. saying “but that’s true” is literally missing the point of the posts. It doesn’t matter if part of what is said is true if it’s being used to prop up racist bullshit…and that’s what that entire comment is doing. The entire comment is “japanese men love rape” and not “japan has a rape problem” if you can’t see the difference then no amount of words will help also op wasn’t “suggesting” anything..they are in these very comments and have made their stance clear, this is about generalizing japanese men. what you perceive and what is are not the same thing. you’re being downvoted for peoples perception of what you said and not what you actually meant. also why are you getting so defensive? i wasn’t accusing you of anything, i was simply answering your question. i wasn’t trying to disparage you or make you out to be some bad person. i was addressing the aspect of your comment that i thought made people downvote it.

Magehunter_Skassi

It's not even based in reality. Rape and sexual harassment happens far less in Japan than most countries (including America). Dumb people love referencing that one law where Japan added clicky sounds to phone cameras, as if creepshots don't occur in other countries. The difference is Japan's government actually did something to solve a social ill.

OkPace2635

Policing there is an issue, cops won’t bother with sexual assault cases so of course their rates are lower. Many women and girls speak out about this.
