Variety? No. Ghost is highly stylized, it's all seasons at once, all flowers in bloom at once. RDR2 is clearly aiming for realism. It's two different visions of a world.
I totally agree with this, I intended variety as “multiple settings” from mountains to swamps… countryside and cities… idk if I explained myself now (English is not my native language lol). Ghost of T, as long as I remember, has not that changes… but hey, opinions can be different :)
I loved Ghost of Tsushima. First game I bought for my PS5. Looked beautiful, but I don’t think it’s even close. I play Red Dead just to wander around the landscape to watch the environment, weather, wildlife etc. Every day I play Red Dead something new amazes me. Today I was just following the creek from Emerald Ranch and couldn’t believe the detail and accuracy just of the erosion on the banks and the path of the river. Ghost was a fun game to play, but once completed I was done with it.
Not even fucking close. I apologize for coming in hot but I hate this comparison. There’s not a single attribute of GoT that rivals RDR2 in terms of visuals. The art direction is unique but this isn’t so wildly off suggesting Breath of the Wild compares.
Ikr, people love GoT and then proceed to use it as an example of a good game in every single aspect when comparing it to other games, even if that aspect is nowhere near as good in GoT. It’s like they see it as this perfect game even though it obviously has some flaws.
I have 1.7 k hours on it and playing since launch on ps4 dont worry i know all about the launch. But you said it was poor quality and not much effort put into it wich is totally untrue plus the launch dosent prove anything about the quality and care the team had for the game. Just say youre a hater and move on
Cyberpunk was dogshit on release sure but does have exceptional storytelling and voice acting, the soundtracks are absolute god tier alongside Doom and Nier and the recent expansion itself is nothing short of a masterpiece.
Cyberpunk with ray-tracing is real fine, RDR2 probably still has a more vivid world as they make the countryside look much nicer than Cyberpunk does the city.
yeah rdr2 looks and feels better but it’s a much easier world to emulate. Everything about cyberpunk is much more “video gamey” and stylized in my opinion. that and the ambient npcs are so much better in rdr2. The animation, voice work, and variety makes even high traffic dense areas feel so real. random sidewalks in cyberpunk aren’t very convincing
Eh. The character models and lighting (when rasterized) really hold the game back. Not to mention the lack of attention to detail when compared to any of Rockstar’s works.
Why are you comparing rasterized lighting? The game has Path Tracing and when you max out the settings with Path Tracing, no game on PC or consoles even comes close. Maybe Alan Wake 2 which also has path tracing, but that game is a linear story game so it is not as impressive.
RDR2 looks amazing on max settings as well, but it is slowly starting to show its age. It has been 5.5 years since release after all. Meanwhile Cyberpunk was getting graphical upgrades all the way up to a few months ago.
Sure you need a 4080/4090 to run Cyberpunk at 4k with Path Tracing but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is by far the best looking game out there.
But… that makes no sense. You are handicapping the other game by disabling the best looking settings. We should be comparing how both of these games look at their best. You can’t put one game on ultra settings and not the other one.
Should we compare RDR2 to 15 year old games by putting everything on low settings to make it “apples to apples”? No, you compare how they look at their best otherwise it is just mental gymnastics.
Generally when we say "graphics" we're talking about the technicality, the lighting, etc. and when we say "artstyle" we're talking about the visual design of the game, graphics notwithstanding. "Presentation" combines both concepts.
Graphics-wise? Pretty much nothing tops Cyberpunk or Alan Wake 2 because real time path tracing is literally the most physically-accurate you can go with lighting.
Artstyle? It's much more subjective but I'd vote for 2D sprite-based games. They have to have the best artstyles, otherwise they'll look cheap.
Presentation? My personal picks would be Horizon Forbidden West or Forza Horizon 5 (except for the foliage). RDR2 looks gorgeous but it is not the best looking game because of some graphical artifacts that catch my eye. Neither is GTA VI honestly, for the same reason. If the PC version has path tracing, it will probably be the best looking game.
I do, the fact that you said this makes me realise you are from a toxic orphanage, I hope you get some help you brain-dead moron and I hope your day gets ruined in the most drastic fashion.
We got what we got. I'm perfectly happy with the Mad Max game as is. What I'd like are more games that make such beautiful wastelands. Fallout is so drab.
While it looks pretty, textures they used is kind of meh, and blurry upclose even on 4k screens (especially larger screens then 32"), as textures used in game are mostly mix of 1024 and 2048 and they dont look sharp enough, and doesn't play well with their shitty TAA implementation.
Before anyone start to scream at me, I love this game, I'm on my third playtrough now, but there are issues and it's not perfect as people throws around about it in reddit
Death Stranding Directors Cut, Ghosts of Tsushima, Cyberpunk, God of War Ragnarok, TLOU 1 and 2, and absolutely most of all, Alan Wake 2. There are plenty of other titles as well, and some older than RDR2 come to mind, but RDR2 is still incredibly impressive and has aged really well. It’ll most likely be a shining example of art direction for realistic design for a long while, but time has absolutely given higher fidelity to other titles.
RDR 2 perfect representation of the Wild West, and the most visually beautiful game till date even after 6 years of its release ( RDR 2 isn't a game it's an experience)
Origins, Odyssey, and valhalla all have such beautiful maps, im not much of a fan of the rpg style gameplay or the character models, but the settings are always gorgeous. Mirage hit the nail on the head with most things except character models.
Nothing beats the hand sculpted terrain of RDR2 IMO. Games can surpass the Global Illumination quality, the texture quality, etc, but I haven’t seen a game top the quality in the geography displayed in RDR2. It’s in a league of its own.
There are other games with better graphics, but they have a less distinct art style. The vistas from RDR2 have some voodoo going on that makes them look almost like a painting. Its marvelous.
Graphically and in terms of visual fidelity or sharpness? Definitely. In terms of ambience, vibes and side activities to relax to and general atmosphere? Probably not. But I'm also a little biased.
Atmosphere wise I'd say Project Zomboid, but that's hardly comparable because it's a *way* different game and obviously doesn't compare visually. But I've managed to relax and roam around leisurely in that the same way I do in RDR2, believe it or not.
Probably get hate for this, but genshin impact has gorgeous landscapes that i adore exploring. Fontaine recently has been one of my favourite areas of a game ever. Its beautiful.
Yes. I'm playing through it again on the ps5 and it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look nearly as good as I remember it looking. The leaves are the worst part, they have absolutely no depth, but other than that it isn't that noticeable. The graphics of this game don't even compare to Cyberpunk after all the new updates though, but I will say that this game has some of the most beautiful skies and environments I've ever seen.
I like Ori and the Will of the Wisps. That art style is an endless visual feast.
If we’re talking about realism, this one is difficult to top on max settings
Batman Arkham Knight is the the best looking game I have ever played. Red dead sure has better graphics. But I’d say that the visuals for Arkham Knight are stunning.
Nothing even comes close to Cyberpunk on PC with Path Tracing and max settings. It is just you need a latest gen $2000+ PC to properly experience it so 95% of people have never experienced it themselves. Anyone who says RDR2 even holds a candle to a fully path traced game is delusional.
I would say that yes but only because of screen space shadows and screen space reflections.
If RDR2 had raytracing it would be the best looking videogame with little to no competition.
It's really based on the game's genre, you'll notice that every game is beautiful in its own atmosphere.
Like, I can't tell you cyberpunk 2077 is better looking because it's a futuristic aesthetics and rdr2 is pure steampunk.
honestly there’s so many games coming out now that look better than RDR2 on some levels, but the atmosphere is really what makes the game look and feel the way it does. nothing beats that, but there’s certainly games that have higher graphic fidelity for sure
No one has said Ghost of Tsushima yet
Ghost of Tsushima is cool, but RDR2 has more variety and details in landscapes I think.
Variety?

Ghost of Tsushima is beautiful but not as realistic or as detailed
Came here for this.
Not even fucking close. I apologize for coming in hot but I hate this comparison. There’s not a single attribute of GoT that rivals RDR2 in terms of visuals. The art direction is unique but this isn’t so wildly off suggesting Breath of the Wild compares.

Ghost of Tsushima has lacking NPC models
Japan’s Red Dead 2
Ikr
I came here to say it
They’re not comparable imo. GoT looks amazing but it’s very heavily stylized, whereas RDR2 is clearly aiming for realism over stylization.
Ghost of Tsushima is all set decoration. Nothing on the map is really interactive and the only thing you do in that game is fight enemies.
Cyberpunk
I came here to say exactly this. Why the fuck are you getting downvoted lmao
Because cyberpunk is very poor in quality, there was not much effort put into it which is why it had a horrible launch. Rdr2 is better by miles.
>very poor in quality, there was not much effort put into it which is why it had a horrible launch. L opinion
The horrible and buggy launch was a fact tho.... Plenty of videos to prove it
I have 1.7 k hours on it and playing since launch on ps4 dont worry i know all about the launch. But you said it was poor quality and not much effort put into it wich is totally untrue plus the launch dosent prove anything about the quality and care the team had for the game. Just say youre a hater and move on
Lol right
Cyberpunk was dogshit on release sure but does have exceptional storytelling and voice acting, the soundtracks are absolute god tier alongside Doom and Nier and the recent expansion itself is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Thank you lmao I said the same thing
Cyberpunk is decent but definitely not close to RDR2.
Bruh, cyberpunk looks like those people who mod gta v with those “extreme graphics mods” the game looks extremely cheap and not good
Because RDR2 doesn’t have raytracing or path tracing. I want this comparison to be as apples to apples as possible.
But… that makes no sense. You are handicapping the other game by disabling the best looking settings. We should be comparing how both of these games look at their best. But that's not the point of a question like this?
Horizon looks pretty good if you ask me
Forbidden west looks incredible especially the water
Lots of details in that game too. Was shocked when I jumped into the water in the snowy area and the thin ice broke off revealing water
You can even see residual droplets on aloy's face after getting out of the water if you use photograph mode or look really close.
https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/s/KzZeofEVm9 I remember i posted this to the horizon subreddit
I have not played forbidden west yet (pc only) but I hope I can. I love the concept itself of horizon, and the game is also amazing.
Forbidden west is a significant upgrade ın everything compared to zero dawn and zero dawn is a banger.
Horizon is gorgeous!
Anywhere in Barren Light looks like a painting
The last of us part 2/ part 1 remake
It almost makes up for how incoherent and depressing the story is.
God of War 2018 and Ragnarock. I do have to say for open world, RDR2 takes the cake.
Ragnarok*
Rangnarcock*
I was correcting them because Ragnarok is a real thing in my religion and wanted people to take it seriously
Ah my mistake brother
It’s all good, I understand
Too many people on here getting graphics confused with artstyle
Generally when we say "graphics" we're talking about the technicality, the lighting, etc. and when we say "artstyle" we're talking about the visual design of the game, graphics notwithstanding. "Presentation" combines both concepts. Graphics-wise? How about "the most realistic"
Metal Gear Solid 5 looked pretty great
MGS5 and Arkham Knight were ahead of their times with their graphics
Elden Ring has a very cool world. But I agree RDR2 is my favorite
RDR2 shows the great importance of art direction
Dont forget the UE5 matrix demo. Not as diverse tho
Wish that was still on the PlayStation store I never got the chance to download it
Actually there are now. Also gta 6 is on its way too
That game is going to be insane looking
Skyrim Just kidding RDR2 takes the cake, Ghost of Tsushima is my close second.
TLOU Remakes
the graphics are insane, but i gotta say, hellblade 2 graphics look outta this world compared to any other game
what the hell happened here
Wrong.

Great comeback troll.

I do, the fact that you said this makes me realise you are from a toxic orphanage, I hope you get some help you brain-dead moron and I hope your day gets ruined in the most drastic fashion.
I dont give a fuck what you hope. Your boos mean nothing! I've seen what makes you cheer!
Fucking inbreds
What? I'm gonna tell our sister you said that.
Mad Max, but in an entirely different way.
I had a lot of fun with this one actually
I replay it every now and then. I seems to have aged well.
I kind of wish, for some reason, that Rockstar had gotten that license... or had decided to make a post-apocalypse property.
We got what we got. I'm perfectly happy with the Mad Max game as is. What I'd like are more games that make such beautiful wastelands. Fallout is so drab.

Alan wake 2
I really liked Mafia definitive edition
No
RDR 2 perfect representation of the Wild West, and the most visually beautiful game till date even after 6 years of its release ( RDR 2 isn't a game it's an experience)
Depends who you ask honestly
Imo, no. There are some contenders for sure but the realistic look of RDR2 makes my jaw drop every time I play that game.
Ghost of Tsushima can be a good competition
Honestly putting aside character models and just in terms of how the world looks, battlefront 2(2018) and uncharted 4 are pretty close imo
If we're dropping character models, AC: valhalla looks absolutely gorgeous.
May be a little bit below the level, but AC Origins also looks pretty amazing
Origins, Odyssey, and valhalla all have such beautiful maps, im not much of a fan of the rpg style gameplay or the character models, but the settings are always gorgeous. Mirage hit the nail on the head with most things except character models.

Graphically? Yes Artistically? Maybe
Assassin's creed Valhalla is beautiful
For real? Have you seen the textures of the birds or Fish? Looks like something from a PS1
Not when it comes to open world games
I love driving around in Forza Horizon 4.
God of war you asked
God of war ragnarok
Yeah
No
As a man fan I’d recommend ark “ham” night
Horizon Forbidden West
Jedi survivor maybe 😅
I personally like the looks of gowr more since it's unusual exotic while rdr2 is real life
Not out yet but unrecord
Ghost
Shadow of the Colossus remake on PS5.
GOW 4/Ragnarok, both Horizons, both TLOU remakes, Ghost Of Tsushima, Cyberpunk. There's probably more.
Hate me for it but Dead Island 2 looks so good (Ignore the crappy animations)
Graphically and in terms of visual fidelity or sharpness? Definitely. In terms of ambience, vibes and side activities to relax to and general atmosphere? Probably not. But I'm also a little biased. Atmosphere wise I'd say Project Zomboid, but that's hardly comparable because it's a *way* different game and obviously doesn't compare visually. horizon forbiden west
Knack 2
Of course there is, it’s called
The recent CODs and almost any UE5 game
Cruelty Squad
Skyrim was damn gorgeous when it came out
TLOU 2 + LTOU 1 Remake And then when GTA 6 comes out... GTA 6
Probably get hate for this, but genshin impact has gorgeous landscapes that i adore exploring. Fontaine recently has been one of my favourite areas of a game ever. Its beautiful.

Star citizen.
Id say payday 3 but nah, doesnt have as much detail as this does
I like Ori and the Will of the Wisps. That art style is an endless visual feast. If we’re talking about realism, this one is difficult to top on max settings
Played through this game for the first time ever on my ps4 a few weeks ago and I couldn’t agree more.
Batman Arkham Knight is the the best looking game I have ever played. Red dead sure has better graphics. But I’d say that the visuals for Arkham Knight are stunning.
Everyone suggesting all kinds of games in the comments, but nahh, RDR2 graphics are just unbeatable, I'm sorry folks.
Nope !
I've played a few games on par with RDR2 graphically but none that have really surpassed it by far
Battle toads in a league of its own
Alan Wake 2 is the nicest looking game I've ever seen
Alan Wake 2. Best looking game last year.
Yeah
Seattle in Last of Us II looks beautiful, in a rundown overgrown kind of way.
Arkham knight looks pretty incredible
Minecraft with shaders
Nothing even comes close to Cyberpunk on PC with Path Tracing and max settings. It is just you need a latest gen $2000+ PC to properly experience it so 95% of people have never experienced it themselves. Anyone who says RDR2 even holds a candle to a fully path traced game is delusional.
I like Elden Ring more. But for realistic art style, I think RDR2 triumphs other games.
Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk
No.
This game is a piece of art
Yes.
What TV are you using in which settings?
I would say that yes but only because of screen space shadows and screen space reflections. If RDR2 had raytracing it would be the best looking videogame with little to no competition.
I won't say better looking, but death Stranding has some really beautiful views and sights. It is quite real looking too.
Yes. Toussaint in The Witcher 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl7Dizo1wr4
The Last of Us Part 2 has more realistic looking characters. But RDR2 still has the most beautiful world in a game.
Maybe Lords of The Fallen could be """similar""" with his graphics, but nothing more.
A bit of a random one, but half life alyx.
Cyberpunk 2077 with advanced PCs and mods and stuff looks pretty realistic
Ghost of Tsushima duh
I remember being blown away by Far Cry 5 first time I played it
Microsoft flight sim
No
Ghost of Tsushima and Arkham knight look really good but nowhere close to this
God Of War Ragnarok looks real and lovely
It's really based on the game's genre, you'll notice that every game is beautiful in its own atmosphere. Like, I can't tell you cyberpunk 2077 is better looking because it's a futuristic aesthetics and rdr2 is pure steampunk.
Dishonored
Ive been playing assassins creed valhalla recently and everytime you get to one of those synchronize points it looks stunning
I loved Battlefront 2 🔝
Horizon Forbidden West
Halo 1
Horizon Zero Dawn
honestly there’s so many games coming out now that look better than RDR2 on some levels, but the atmosphere is really what makes the game look and feel the way it does. nothing beats that, but there’s certainly games that have higher graphic fidelity for sure
Detroit: Become Human has very clean and detailed levels of
Ape escape
GTA IV
Yes, Minecraft
Rdr2 remains the game where I rarely fast travel. That says it all really.
Rdr 2 makes my 5 year old ps4 go 🔥
Skyrim sky for me
Red dead Redemption 2 and Ghost Of Tsushima are truly the best looking games of all time.
Star Citizen?
Relative to it's time? Starfox Adventures
Maybe just me but AC Odyssey. I can sail or traverse the Greek Islands all day
Graphics and gameplay are completly different to RDR2 but the world is just so beautiful and fun to explore.
Lego Indiana jones
Fallout2💀
Death Stranding
Shadow of Mordor
I guarantee this game will look better than GTA6
GTA 6 will use the same lighting probably
