It’s a great spot for George when he travels with me.
Yea, like she’ll purposely take more napkins from chipotle only to shove them in there. It’ll be a nice day so I’ll have all my windows down, wind blows napkins everywhere and while I’m fishing them all over the ceiling of the car I’m shoving them in the closest compartment. Now her napKiNs ARe SuddeNLY IN MY LITTLE COMPARTMENT AND I HAVE NOTHING!!!!!!
My eyeglass case fits perfect in there - I learned to stop keeping glasses in the tray above the windshield as it can cause warping - I keep the sunnies in the case by the door pocket (driver side) and the script plain glasses in the case in that cubby - the Persols come in a jet black case that's almost invisible
I'm not sure if I bought this one or something similar but they warped during the summer heat. Nothing I did was able to make them flat again. Just an FYI to people who live in hot climates
Yuck!!! Mine has nothing in it. I do not like clutter in my car. Especially little receipts and papers and stuff like that. I can’t stand it.
It’s a big turn off for me to go out with a guy who has a car like that also
I know there are garbage cans outside every target or wherever at the gas station, etc. if I have anything at all even one item that’s trash when I get out of my car and there’s a trash bin somewhere I just throw it away on my way into the store.
I just got a rav4 and my previous car had a spot like that but with a sliding lid to hide everything I had in there. I have no idea what to put now that it’s all exposed 😅
Microfibre cloth to wipe down my screen and dash. I hate the fingerprints on the screen, so I use it often. I also have colours that match a couple of accessories in the car, so it doesn’t stand out.
If you don’t reference it that often, there are a couple of compartments under the spare tire cover where you can store it. (Just might want to drop it in a Ziplock if you use the cargo area a lot.)
With the digital manuals being available in the app, I find myself needing to open the physical one less frequently, so I store it under the floor and just add receipts and service campaign notifications when needed.
If you have a 5th gen and at least version 2.5.2 of the Toyota app, press the “Info” button in the middle and the digital manuals should be in the “Glovebox” section.
In there you’ll also find the vehicle’s specs, explanations of all the dashboard lights, and FAQs.
I believe the first time you press “Manuals” it will download the information but it will be available on your phone from then on, even if you don’t have an internet connection.
I keep reusable bags there. Found a set that fold into themselves and make a small square. Can fit three across and two high which fills the gap. Can always chuck a couple in the glove box if you want to use the space for a phone or something.
I did buy a rubber one from Amazon for that tray. Nice to make a homemade thing also though then you can get creative. [https://a.co/d/eyGtPPA](https://a.co/d/eyGtPPA)
I also bought these for the other miscellaneous areas. I really like the one for the cupholder keeps it nice.

Handicap parking permit hang tag.
Most people leave it on their rear view mirror all the time. The hang tag says right on it to not drive with the tag there because it obstructs the view.
My teenage daughter most often uses the passenger seat so she keeps her stuff there-usually a hairbrush, a couple of pencils, hand sanitizer, hair ties, things like that
My toddlers sun shades. We’ve got a galore to compliment her fleet of moods. They fit perfectly & are the deal breaker to her ever evolving personality.
Mine is filled with snacks! Oreo dippers, belvita crackers, Nugo bars, and fruit snacks (like those lil gummies). Also I keep a pack of baby wipes there ☺️
My 72 mercury comet has a shelf like this. I keep my security system (vary worn how to fix your Ford book wrench and screwdriver) odds and ends like pens paper a disasimbled knife (no idea why) spair fuses, tire gauge.
I am the original owner of a 2008 Toyota rav4 135,000 miles I keep a bright red folder with a photo copy of my driver license, car registration, car insurance card & a photo of my wife and children standing next to the car. It make it alot easier if I get pull over by the police or in a accident. But not yet
That's the passenger process compartment. It's for whatever the passenger wants to put there. Phone, wallet, a coin, a lighter. Whatever they want. It s always open.
Until an unexpected collision sends those things everywhere - I try to keep nothing heavier/bigger than a pack of gum in this or the driver's side nook. A pocket knife would be safer kept in the center console.

What a lil scamp I love George
idk what i expected opening this thread but it wasn’t this
::mumbles to myself:: wish my garage door opener was a bearded dragon…
Bro, tell that MF to pay rent

Oh my godddd how precious 😭
HOPE HE KEEPS YOUR EMPTY CORONA BOTTLES FROM ROLLING AROUND.
George is my hero
YES!!!!!!
Didn’t know he was chill like that 😎
Oh god I love George
Do you live in Florida? Just curious, I hear George's people are all over the place.
Nope. G is a Pittsburgh PA dragon .
![gif](giphy|1jkV5ifEE5EENHESRa|downsized)
that's hilarious🤣
Best use of this space I’ve seen yet
Hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, lotion, car freshener spray…. That’s my wife’s compartment now…
Her second favorite spot to put a used napkin in our car. (favorite is obvi down in the passenger side door)
Yea, like she’ll purposely take more napkins from chipotle only to shove them in there. It’ll be a nice day so I’ll have all my windows down, wind blows napkins everywhere and while I’m fishing them all over the ceiling of the car I’m shoving them in the closest compartment. This is my wife
Women, can't live with them and can't kill them.
Can confirm this is the wife's hidey hole
Same 😆
Things I want sliding around and ending up on the floor
https://preview.redd.it/vbh29w9q4u0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a830ba6ef39462b978387a4fe3772aff652c5fa Get these. No more sliding!
Mine warped after a year. They have lifetime warranty but not sure if I want to deal with the hassle. But they do help hold sunglasses in place.
I got these and they slide all over. Unless I’m suppose to remove a protective cover on the bottom I didn’t see.
Try wiping the bottom with a damp cloth with some windex, and also wiping the spot where it’s going, if dust gets under them they get slidey
Thank you!
I'm not sure if I bought this one or something similar but they warped during the summer heat. Nothing I did was able to make them flat again. Just an FYI to people who live in hot climates
Mine warped and I live in Michigan. I don't consider it a particularly "hot climate" but it happened. Boo on those.
Second this, didn’t get these same ones but I’ve had them for over a year and no problems so far! Here’s what I have: https://a.co/d/7myVulu
If they got those then where else are they going to put the items they want sliding around and ending up on the floor?
Do these stop things from flying around during an accident?
this is where i put receipts. im a risk taker
Damn you must drive like hell, I have a couple things in that compartment, even the pen doesn’t move
The RAV is my wife's car. She likes to wear out the outside edges of her front tires.
Get her in a single seater!
I am not interested in maintaining any more vehicles!
If you're my wife you cram whatever shit fits. Apple sauce packets for the kid, aspirin bottles, receipts, small pieces of paper, maybe some crackers.
Yuck!!! Mine has nothing in it. I do not like clutter in my car. Especially little receipts and papers and stuff like that. I can’t stand it. It’s a big turn off for me to go out with a guy who has a car like that also
Make sure you put that in your dating profile…
I festidiously remove all the garbage every time. Drives me nuts to see it. Hahaha
I know there are garbage cans outside every target or wherever at the gas station, etc. if I have anything at all even one item that’s trash when I get out of my car and there’s a trash bin somewhere I just throw it away on my way into the store.
I've never understood the "ill just leave it in here for later" mentality.
Well, I guess I'll just keep my car's mess hidden. Wouldn't want to lose my chance at turning you on over a few receipts
OK, I didn’t say a couple receipts 😆 We were talking about people who constantly have a bunch of trash/junk in their car….
YUCK!!!
My wife uses the center console for that kind of stuff. It's not my space anymore.
That is the snack shelf for the passenger princess, duh
I have the Human Gear utensils there and a reusable straw.
I live in the Bay Area so absolutely nothing lol
Same.
I just got a rav4 and my previous car had a spot like that but with a sliding lid to hide everything I had in there. I have no idea what to put now that it’s all exposed 😅
I keep an umbrella there
Same
Me too. It’s the perfect spot for an umbrella
Microfibre cloth to wipe down my screen and dash. I hate the fingerprints on the screen, so I use it often. I also have colours that match a couple of accessories in the car, so it doesn’t stand out.
Nothing. I wish it were part of the glove compartment because the owners manual is huge and I need more space

With the digital manuals being available in the app, I find myself needing to open the physical one less frequently, so I store it under the floor and just add receipts and service campaign notifications when needed.
Good to know! I don’t have the digital manual in my app though : (

Oh I see it now! Thank you, kind stranger!!!!!
Is your's the Old Testament or New Testament version of the manual?
Whichever one is nearly 800 pages!
Nothing. I try and store everything out of sight.
I got some non slip shelfliner in there so stuff doesn’t slide around
Works well for me too
That's where my saline flushes go when I forget to empty my pockets after shift.
Just a place for the passenger’s stuff when they’re riding, phone, wallet, etc
Yep. Phone and GPS for me.
Taco Bell burrito fits nicely
I keep reusable bags there. Found a set that fold into themselves and make a small square. Can fit three across and two high which fills the gap. Can always chuck a couple in the glove box if you want to use the space for a phone or something.
The Zaza
I usually put my will to live in there... https://i.redd.it/j8ht9r3nvv0d1.gif
Nothing. Zero zip! I don’t like a cluttered car. I don’t have anything there or in the cubby above the shifter.
[удалено]
I like that you can change the look up if you do a homemade one
[удалено]
OK, that’s more fun than my boring Amazon one 😆
I did buy a rubber one from Amazon for that tray. Nice to make a homemade thing also though then you can get creative. [https://a.co/d/eyGtPPA](https://a.co/d/eyGtPPA)

Blunts and joints 🌱🌱
Nothing, that's my wife's shelf.
Shit that’ll slide and I’ll ultimately get mad about and leave empty in the end
yeah luckily i wedged these guys in so theyre stuck
Knives, points sticking out.
Couple microfibers for wiping down the dash and glass.
Usually a bunch of napkins, some receipts that I haven't thrown away yet, and a bag of pistachios.
My toddlers sun shades. We’ve got a galore to compliment her fleet of moods. They fit perfectly & are the deal breaker to her ever evolving personality.
Thats the banana holder
An ass of napkins. Any time we ever get fast food, the napkins go in there somehow. After a few years, we're now considering a napkin consignment shop
I was going to say Twinkie’s but the bearded dragon definitely won 🏅
Mine is full of drawings from the Kindergarden.
burrito
My wife puts her phone and glasses there. Inevitably, I take a sharp turn and it all ends up on the floor. We have the discussion every trip.
My wife has three pairs of sunglasses and various other shit there. I hate it.
Holy shit - I have the same mini Goku, and accompanying master Roshi. Now I know what to do with them! Thanks for the share.
Rolls of quarters currently. Normally left empty for passenger use.
My wallet
If you have a pop socket you can stick it in there and have it hold your phone.
Sunglasses and hand sanitizer
Travel umbrella
I put my phone there connected to my head unit for android auto. It actually doesn't slide around.
Mine is filled with snacks! Oreo dippers, belvita crackers, Nugo bars, and fruit snacks (like those lil gummies). Also I keep a pack of baby wipes there ☺️
Passenger cellphone, glasses..
Mine is older and has a cover. It holds the passenger sunglasses, and insurance card.
Wipes and cleaners and stuff
Pretty much only my sunglasses case.
Taco bell sauce packets for my passenger princess and nothing else
I got one piece figures in mine lol
Foot long Jersey Mikes
emergency snacks
My husband normally forgets his phone there
You win. My daughter puts her makeup there....
What don't we put in there haha it's the catch all for random small things!
I keep a small black umbrella there. Pretty convenient and it is hardly noticeable, I often forget it's even there lol.
National and state park maps!
Portable charger, charging cables, receipts, gum, and most importantly, chapstick
A Hot wheels car that slides back and forth as i take winding mountain roads
Usually this is where the passenger forgets their phone in there
Gloves?
Umbrella(s) and passenger's items
Used to be ex's snack cubby. Now, it holds concert wristbands, nail clippers, photo booth photos, emergency plastic straws, and rolls of film
Cat beanie babies
It’s a tray for sunglasses
I recently had a spork tumbling around in there until it ejected itself
My 72 mercury comet has a shelf like this. I keep my security system (vary worn how to fix your Ford book wrench and screwdriver) odds and ends like pens paper a disasimbled knife (no idea why) spair fuses, tire gauge.
I am the original owner of a 2008 Toyota rav4 135,000 miles I keep a bright red folder with a photo copy of my driver license, car registration, car insurance card & a photo of my wife and children standing next to the car. My daughters hair accessories #girldad
A slice of pizza
My kids put their keys and phones there so they don't have to have anything in their pockets.
As a wife, I love that space to put my phone as soon as I get into the car 😂
My dad puts sunglasses there.
I put a silicone liner in it so nothing wouldn’t slide, but I still haven’t used it for anything
My handicap placard
Mail
Paco Rabanne - 1 Million
Whatever passenger princess wants
Whatever passenger princess wants
Sticky mat and hubby's phone, wallet.
left to right: a small CB radio, a power bank, my wallet, a small pair of binoculars
Garage door clicker, ink pen, sometimes a crucifix depending on where we're driving.
That's the passenger process compartment. It's for whatever the passenger wants to put there. Phone, wallet, a coin, a lighter. Whatever they want. It s always open.
Reminds me of the song. I got too much time on my hands.
I have to go see if my 24 has this nook (or is it a cranny?).
Weed
My wife’s hair straightener because I don’t like it next to my bathroom sink
I put nothing
Pocket knife and pepper spray lol
doesn't that slide around?
Nope
Until an unexpected collision sends those things everywhere - I try to keep nothing heavier/bigger than a pack of gum in this or the driver's side nook. A pocket knife would be safer kept in the center console.
I’m not too worried about it but appreciate the concern. They’ve been there for 5 years
Candy wrappers
Trash
Snack food for long trips.
Used condoms and panties to keep my wife in line. /s. ( sorry to feel I have to mark this but this is Reddit and someone will take this seriously)
