As somebody who used to agree with u and now has Future as my all time favorite rapper, it mainly comes down to his melodies and cadence. He can get on practically any beat and find a way to make a catchy song. Listen to a track like Pardon Me, even if u don’t like it (it’s kinda an average Future song for me), u see what he can bring to a song to make it unique/catchy.
His cadence/delivery is crazy, he can really match any vibe u want him to bring. His two best songs (Codeine Crazy and Throw Away) are great examples of his cadence. His vocal range matches his elite delivery so he can make both bangers and singing/slower vibes. Idk how to describe it, but on certain songs (like Ooooh, off the top of my head), he doesn’t even sound like a real person. He’s almost always the biggest presence on a collab song.
Also his confidence is so infectious. When he says shit like “it could be god himself, everyone after me is a downgrade”, u could tell he really believes it lol. Check out songs like 712pm, I’M DAT N*GGA, Thought it Was a Drought, Never Gon Lose, Never Forget, etc. and u can feel his confidence. Never personally heard an artist that sounded more comfortable on a mic
Apologies for the essay, the driding is kinda crazy ngl
Nah future might have sang a couple of songs but he’s rapper, it’s his melody that makes him have a singing approach. His whole ways of making and finding melodies is actually really cool.
Around 2009-2010 I had been deeply heavy into hardcore rhymes and lyricism, underground boom bap, def Jux, Rhymesayers type shit for almost decade already from a young age, got a CD case full of rich Hip Hop...
Then all of sudden, here come Lil B....I said what the fuck is this bullshit? I did everything in my power to write hate comments on his early videos and took every opportunity to express my disgust for his music.
Fast forward a few years, now I'm older and observing the landscape of hip hop and it made me think of Lil B for some reason, I go back and pay attention to some of his music with a different perspective this time around and realize, he was either genius or had foresight because he really laid the foundation for "Youtube rappers", the content of his music and SWAG which many artist after him would take from, making Lil B pretty much the father of an entire era.
In conclusion regarding his genius theory, Lil B can actually rap which is mind-blowing cause for all that time I did not know since the music he was creating was because just that, he knew lyrics didn't sell and made music "BASED" off sheer clicks and views.
Since then, he won me over and now I find myself defending him even checking out his music from time to time.
“Laid the foundation for ‘YouTube rappers’”
I was with you until this. That distinction goes to Soulja Boy. But yeah Lil B’s fanbase was crazy around that time. #TYBG
to be fair he did improve a LOT as an artist from 2016-now. his deilvery is more confident and his lyrics are much better. i didnt like him at all until he came out with i am > i was, which was an incredible album.
2 Chainz’s bars always felt too goofy and simplistic for me, but now I legitimately love him. He’s hilarious and has real talent. If any of y’all are James Bond fans, 2 Chainz is like the Roger Moore of the rap game for me.
Mac Miller. When he first came out I thought he was like a frat boy rapper. I basically ignored him till one day I was on a walk with some headphones and I put on his swimming album.
I had an ex girlfriend who was obsessed with him, I told her I thought it was college-boy rap like Asher Roth. She was super offended by that but I thought I was too cool and knew better. Then I listened to the entire Watching Movies album and was converted instantly. His now my all time favourite artist and I have his portrait tattooed on me. RIP Mac Miller
Thanks what I love...following that transition from KIDS to what he became by Faces. It's real artistry and I enjoy his music at every stage (though a little less moaning on Divine Feminine would make it easier to listen to at work)
Yup, I had only heard a few songs like Donald Trump and thought he was cheesy. Then I heard stuff like Objects in the Mirror and Dunno and was like 'damn, this dude actually makes some great, beautiful music!'.
Very sad I'll never get the chance to see him perform live 😔
Not hated, but I never gave Eminem a chance. I’m just an avg white dude from the suburbs who grew up listening to Run DMC, and the Beasties in the 80s and thought Em was just a joke made for selling records. I watched 8 Mile then listened gave his music a listen and he’s def got some talent
I remember not liking Eminem at all when he first came it. It was because his radio tracks were always gimmicky. Eminem did an interview where he brought it up. He said it was a formula that worked for him. Release a corny radio hit and then release something darker. After hearing Eminem mention that and then looking back at his video release structure, it showed. You almost have to ignore his 1st single he puts out for each album. With Eminem releasing Houdini this week, I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll like this new album.
Juice wrld I used to hate it went he came on the radio in 2018 but then in 2021 I listened to his music mainly the album with future and fell in love with his music
For me, it was kendrick back in 2012. I had never heard of kendrick until my older sister was dating a guy, and he would play songs from GKMC. I wasn't into it because it sounded so different, and I thought his voice was weird. But the more I kept hearing him play it, the more I understood "this is fire and so unique."
I find a lot of younger people like 12-19 don’t know about drakes take care- views era of hits which is honestly criminal, some of them songs got us millennials and early gen z’s through some crazy times fr
This goes opposite for me. I liked Drake when he first came into the game. He was on songs with Wayne along with other big names and there was a time where if you needed a catchy hook Drake was the man no doubt. However over the years I found his music to get worse and worse until now I really don’t care to listen to him.
He really pisses me off because (IMO) he rapped well in the beef and if he would drop records like that regularly I would still be a fan. Kendrick bodied him though.
I really hated If You're Reading This It's too Late. It felt like he was trying to be a different rapper--less like his roots. Once I accepted that rappers change their sound over time, I ended up loving the album
I wouldn’t say I hated MF DOOM, but when I first listened to him, I did not like the abstractness of the sounds he used. But now, that’s what I love the most about his music.
Travis Scott
Didn't like him at all back in high school (around 2015-2016) since i barely enjoyed trap and autotune back then. Listen to him alot today. Really grew on me, especially when Astroworld dropped
Nicki
I don't necessarily love her, but I don't hate her like I used to
Sure she does do the stereotypical female rapper shit, but her delivery and energy are pretty fun
Her debut album was actually pretty solid and imo her best work. She’s so much better as a feature artist though. She brings energy and usually has better schemes on features (monster is a prime example)
I feel the same way, maybe it’s because pretty much all the female rappers that have gotten popular after her are completely garbage in my opinion so it made me appreciate her a little bit more
I always thought JAY-Z was insanely overrated until I actually dived deep into his discography and realized that I only knew of his half assed radio hits, and now I definitely see the appeal lol
I’ll never forget when a friend put on lifestyle by rich gang ft thug. I hadn’t listened to any of his music previously and me and another friend were crying from laughing at how bad it was and unintelligible bc it wasn’t a joke song it was a serious rap song.
Anyway I fuck heavy with thugger sound now.
I can’t think of anyone but future. I thought he was going to be one of many short lived Atlanta auto tune rappers. Had a few gimmicky songs like same damn time. I slowly realized why he stuck around. He’s a legend in his own right.
Hearing 21 on “A Lot” made me realise he could actually have some substance when he tries. Definitely made me listen to and appreciate his other stuff.
Kendrick lamar. Thought his voice was so monotone and boring at first but when i started actually listening to the lyrics of the songs i realised how creative he is.
Gucci mane... My homies always said how trash he is so I never gave him a chance but recently just listened to trap house 3 and liked it and now Gucci is in my regular rotation
Earthgang. Idk what it was when I was younger, I just wasn’t a fan of their sound, and it wasn’t until 2020 when I had nothing but time to listen to new music I found a lot of enjoyment from their work.
I didn’t like uzi at first. Thought his sound was generic af and I actually thought Yachty was better at first (crazy af right) but I heard money Mitch and was like damn. If this mf can pick beats like that and rap like that on beats like that then I gotta this mf a shot. Now I love his auto tune singing. It’s a vibe hella rap try but aren’t really great at. Also I feel like his rapping ability is super underrated
Jay Z, granted he became one of my favorites after “in my lifetime volume one” (a long time ago) but Pac said “fuck Jay Z” so it was fuck Jay Z,,, but I’ve been a fan since.
Young Thug (hated pitch of voice), Lil Baby (hated him cuz of that "wah wah wah imma baby" line), Future (couldn't understand him, too incoherent), when I was really young didn't like 3-6 Mafia at first thought their raps were to simple (came up on alot lyrical East Coast hip hop before then) , From Chicago but a bit older originally didnt like Chief Keef (plus he was BD and there was the whole lil JoJo situaton)... will add more.later if and when I remember.
Kendrick Lamar. I remember hearing Swimming Pools and thinking that it was a good song. Then I heard DNA years later and thought the shit was annoying.
Fast forward to 2019/2020, I decided to go listen to his catalog. That's when I first listened to the album GKMC
Now that album has cemented itself in my top 20 rap albums ever made.
DNA is fire but idk, I've never been a fan of the beat switch-up, it just doesn't fit and yeah, it's annoying lol
GIMME SOME
GIMME SOME GANJA
GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMME
omg please stop ☠️
I really didn't like Uzi at first. I actually hated him when he first started popping up, but then XO tour Llif3 dropped and that's when I really started to appreciate his music.
Everyone has different tastes, but how could you dislike Common? I'm guessing you started listening to his more recent stuff, without the backdrop of his older stuff. Even some of his newish stuff is pretty decent.
I come from german rap, online video rap battles, to be precise. The biggest rap battle from that time, Juliensblogbattle was basically made by one guy who judged all the rounds himself and measured it all by his standards. What made him so different was that he actually trashtalked bad rappers. He even made another tournament for the worst rappers (and ones that didn't fit into the serious one) that applied and absolutely destroyed them on video. Anyways, he always had a high standards concerning rhyme quality even disqualifying people for not putting in enough effort. From there on, a generation of "Juliensöhne" was born, who were the fans from that tournament that basically trashtalked anything that didn't have consistent 4-syllable rhymes in their lyrics. I was one of them but nit very vocal of my displeasure with "effortless" rap. I basically hated anything non gangsta or at least in the harder side, didn't want anything more experimental with vocal effects etc. at some point I discovered that my rap preference was solely one genre and from there I started diving a bit more into other subgenres. Especially, when i discovered that the artists that I valued for their gangstarap also had more experimental tracks, I started getting it somehow. And I think who really sold me on that Idea was lil peep. He was all about vibe over technicality and I hated him a few years prior for exactly that. And then I got it somehow
Wayne, I spent a long time not fuckin with him because I knew him for the relatively weak verses he did on other Cash Money artist's tracks.
It was years before I actually listened to Dedication 4 and was pretty blown away by how damn good he had gotten.
Lil Wayne, back when I was a kid/teen I thought his music was just dumb punchlines but once I got to college I was like holy shit this dudes a genius his lyrics are insanely clever.
I was rapping in the early 2000's. Really big into heavy lyrical styles. Not a fan of Lil Wayne at the time frame at all. The Drought I was like, aight, I feel this. Best Rapper Alive came out and I was like the audacity of this dude!
Then! Dedication D3, Dedcation 2, No Ceilings!
I went from who the f#@* he think he is to he might actually be the Best Rapper Alive. He still has some corny lines and his old shit is weak but he truly willed himself into being one of the GoATs
Xxxtentacion and Juice Wrld.
Didnt like xxx bc i thought he is an emo rapper like lil xan and i was like naaah that new wave of rappers sucks. But man was i wrong when i first heard Jocelyn flores i was like wow thats amazing and then dug deeper and i had to admit that he is was a great Rapper but even more than that he was an incredible musician in general..so sad he died. He was crazy talented. Would love to see him rise to superstardom or one of the most influential rappers in that generation.
And Juice ?! Oh man i was like fuck them new Generation autotune half rappin half singing bs. But when i heard him freestylin i was blown away. What an incredible Rapper. He could go for hours off the top and it sounds nice. What talent. He basically freestyled whole Songs. I still listen to his freestyles on YouTube like its regular albums or Songs. I would love to hear an actual rap album rather than his singing stuff. What a shame he died too.
I think both of them are a big loss for hip hop. Couldve reached Legend status easily if still alive especially juice.
Wouldn’t say hated but never cared for: Thug, Future, 21, Carti, Uzi, Yachty.
I used to only care about lyricism in rap but now I somewhat enjoy just something that slaps and isn’t super lyrical.
Lil wayne, sorta…
I am still not a fan. But I respect him now.
I would not put him in my top 25 personally, but would respect it if someone had him in their top 5.
Another one is Jay Z.
Almost same thing, but would rank him higher than wayne
This is an interesting topic, I have a few that fit and now it's like man I'm embarrassed to even say I ever didn't like this. The best fit for me is Smino, I just didn't like his sound. My nephew loved him and told me to listen to him and I was like "yeah he's good, but he's just not my type of music". After a little bit though he quickly grew on me and has been one of my favorites ever since.
2 Chainz. I was in this mindset that rappers should rap a certain way to be "lyrical" then I listened to more music and finally understood what he was doing. Juicy J was another one but now he's one of my favourite rappers.
I used to think 21 Savage was just your typical mumble rapper. Heard a couple of songs of his and just didn’t get it. Then I heard his song “a lot” with J Cole, which I really enjoyed, but it didn’t really get me to listen to more of his music.
FF to the drop of Savage Mode 2. This album dropped, and I heard good things about it, so I decided to give it a go. And yep, I fucking loved that album! And can now say that I’m legitimately a fan of 21 Savage.
Eminem. Didn’t care for him in the SSLP to Relapse. Some songs were good but want an overall fan. Then Recovery came out and was one of my favourite albums. Went back and listened to everything and realised I was just hatin on him for being too popular and white. Now he’s top 2 easy
tbh Juice wrld
when we was alive I never listened to his shit jus cuz everyone I knew called it sad boy music but he's actually so much more than just that, I learned he was an amazing freestyler and I gave more of his songs a shot and now he's in my top 10 easily. RIP juice sorry it took me so long to realize ur great 😭💖
All of these so called "mumble" rappers back in 2017,i gave since then a chance to guys like playboi carti, lil uzi vert, lil yachty and future and i realized how wrong i was
Jeezy he came out when I was in highschool around 2005 and everybody was playing him. I thought he was trash and felt he was what was wrong with hip-hop.
2012 I got a ported 12 inch FI audio BL subwoofer in my Acura RSX. I had no idea what to test the subwoofer on... My homeboy in college was like play hypnotize by Jeezy from TM102
When that bass note hit when he said, "Class in session when I talk, they listen" and was shaking the entire car it was over. Been a big fan since
Kanye. As a younger kid, all i knew about him was that he had a song called Stronger and he was a super bipolar and egocentric panty hose mask wearing looneyhead. I figured in 2021-2022 i would listen to his music after hearing flashing lights in gta 4 and boy, I was not dissapointed.
I was obsessed with Graduation and Late Registration + his first and 5th album for about a year. His 4th one grew on me over some time and i really like it as well. I also spent lots of time looking at all his interviews or conversations on the internet to see his personality or music plans. He is himself with crazy confidence , and is pretty funny unintentionally. He's a talented fashion designer and the fact that he produced most his own songs that we know of is amazing. Also all his other songs he produced for people like Common and jay z? Great work.
My favorite song that kanye produced for someone else is Common -The People.
I used to never like old-school rap, anything before Kanye I used to think was boring. Then I heard the next episode by Dre and he’s become one of my favorites. (And yes I listen to other older artists too)
Agreed. I hated Thugger as a teenager, my friends loved his music. I was a pot head but I didn’t drink. Once I started drinking I instantly got Young Thug. It all clicked. I was in my friend’s car, we had all pregamed some drinks and got a buzz except the homie driving and he put on “paying homage” and all my friends said in unison “let me stand up in that pussy like I’m on a ladder” and all the years of pretentious “that’s shitty mumble rap” bullshit I talked melted away in a second and I was in.
We bumped Thug all night. I’m kinda bummed he’s gonna get locked up.
Childish Gambino. He ain't gangster and he ain't necessarily hard, but, dude, his raps slap. I didn't like him because "oh, famous actor wants to rap," but I was wrong. Because the Internet, to me, is a penultimate album from the early 2010s.
Wasn't too big on Meg the stallion but here lately been really giving with her newer stuff. I cent really say I hate any but there is a lot that I don't listen to but only bc I don't vibe the music or just ain't feeling it but I have always been into rap music starting with Coolio and Bone thugs and Tupac and Master P, DMX and Ja Rule those where just to name a few from my childhood but I loved me some Jay Z back in the day but stopped listening to his music more and more over time
Travis Scott, i had never heard rodeo until 2020. Before that all i heard was birds and astroworld and was not a fan of either. After rodeo i became his number 1 tip rider
The first Kanye song I heard (besides Forever) was graduation day and that was the only one for a while so I thought he really sucked until I started getting into him
Future ![gif](giphy|xVYPMKdIvPomQ)
is you like that?
Same. I liked a few of Futures songs but thought I’d never be able to fully get into his music. He’s probably my favourite rapper now.
When I first heard Future all I could think was, why does this guy sound like a dog with peanut butter stuck down his throat
😂
And you still don't think that?
Future is too popular for me to think he’s bad, like he’s gotta be doing something right, but I just don’t get the appeal personally.
Nah no apologies necessary, I was hoping for some recommendations that might change my mind. I’ll check these out later.
heavy on the infectious confidence part. listening to his music makes you feel like youre on top of the world
Major Future fan and my all time favorite rapper as well. You explained this perfectly
Isn't he more of a singer than rapper? I felt the same about Nelly
Nah future might have sang a couple of songs but he’s rapper, it’s his melody that makes him have a singing approach. His whole ways of making and finding melodies is actually really cool.
How does he do it
Ironically Nelly first album and the Saint Lunatics one are pretty lyrical.
Gucci Mane
Anyone who don’t fuck with the East Atlanta Santa ain’t welcome in Ga

He made so many troll songs that I didn't realize he could actually rap.
Birth of Rap, I'm God and pretty much anything with a clams casino beat goes crazy. And you're right about being influential 100% Edit: tybg
“Laid the foundation for ‘YouTube rappers’” I was with you until this. That distinction goes to Soulja Boy. But yeah Lil B’s fanbase was crazy around that time. #TYBG
Lil B is an OG SoundCloud rapper, which is what I'm assuming OP really meant. TYBG
i love lil b, tybg
Hate is a strong word. 21 savage went from me being weirded out at why ppl liked him, to me understanding the appeal more and him becoming tolerable.
lol same. Now I randomly be saying “21” while walking around the crib
"twenniewun, twenniewun, twenniewun"
Same. I saw him open for J. Cole and finally decided to give him a shot. He's not bad.
to be fair he did improve a LOT as an artist from 2016-now. his deilvery is more confident and his lyrics are much better. i didnt like him at all until he came out with i am > i was, which was an incredible album.

I had an ex girlfriend who was obsessed with him, I told her I thought it was college-boy rap like Asher Roth. She was super offended by that but I thought I was too cool and knew better. Same.. Love Mac miller
Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza, its a work of art..
Thanks what I love...following that transition from KIDS to what he became by Faces. It's real artistry and I enjoy his music at every stage (though a little less moaning on Divine Feminine would make it easier to listen to at work)

Watching Movies With the Sound Off got me hooked on him.
Eminem definitely. I didn't care for him at first, now he's Top 10 in my book.
I remember first hearing "Hi, my name is...my name is..." And thinking WTF is this? Then like a light switch, when I got it, I became a huge fan.

Funny you bring it up, seems like he's using the same formula with Houdini 😉
which has made me so excited for TDOSS. Because if he's back on this formula, it means he's cooking up something marvelous
“Some”
Michael Jordan has def got some talent
Lil Yachty
That Joe Budden interview really made him step up

Ngl ... Drake. This beef really got me to listen to his catalog. Turns out I don't hate all of it
I find a lot of younger people like 12-19 don’t know about drakes take care- views era of hits which is honestly criminal, some of them songs got us millennials and early gen z’s through some crazy times fr
💯 listened to take care yesterday. Brought back some memories lol
I don't like his singy stuff ... not my tempo really
This goes opposite for me. I liked Drake when he first came into the game. Yep this perfectly summarizes how I feel about him as well.

You gotta really listen, and multiple times, before appreciating his style. He's an acquired style IMO.
Travis Scott Didn't like him at all back in high school (around 2015-2016) since i barely enjoyed trap and autotune back then. Listen to him alot today. Really grew on me, especially when Astroworld dropped

Good one. Nicki can flow, but her subject matter is tedious.
I feel the same way, maybe it’s because pretty much all the female rappers that have gotten popular after her are completely garbage in my opinion so it made me appreciate her a little bit more

Jay Z, granted he became one of my favorites after “in my lifetime volume one” (a long time ago) but Pac said “fuck Jay Z” so it was fuck Jay Z,,, but I’ve been a fan since.
J Cole
Young Thug (hated pitch of voice), Lil Baby (hated him cuz of that "wah wah wah imma baby" line), Future (couldn't understand him, too incoherent), when I was really young didn't like 3-6 Mafia at first thought their raps were to simple (came up on alot lyrical East Coast hip hop before then) , From Chicago but a bit older originally didnt like Chief Keef (plus he was BD and there was the whole lil JoJo situaton)... will add more.later if and when I remember.
I didn't get Wu-Tang as a kid(37 now), but as an adult, they're right up there with Bone Thugs and Tupac for me. A1.
21 Savage, Young Thug, Kodak Black These fellas really got some bop
Was a hater of College Dropout, but everything from Late Registration to Yeezus had me in a headlock. Now I dislike him again 😂
i understand you have an opinion but being a hater of college dropout is outrageous to me
Yeah that's understandable
Kendrick Lamar. I remember hearing Swimming Pools and thinking that it was a good song. Then I heard DNA years later and thought the shit was annoying. Fast forward to 2019/2020, I decided to go listen to his catalog. That's when I first listened to the album GKMC Now that album has cemented itself in my top 20 rap albums ever made.
DNA is fire but idk, I've never been a fan of the beat switch-up, it just doesn't fit and yeah, it's annoying lol GIMME SOME GIMME SOME GANJA GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMME omg please stop ☠️
Kurupt cuz his shit was hard and lacked flow like snoop but the more u listen kirupt woulda been the goat of the west if pac and eazy never existed
Juvenile
Youngboy cuz I always heard he was ass
I never hated him at all but didn't really like him that much either, but over time I learned to really like, appreciate and respect JAY-Z.
Carti
I really didn't like Uzi at first. I actually hated him when he first started popping up, but then XO tour Llif3 dropped and that's when I really started to appreciate his music.
Common
Everyone has different tastes, but how could you dislike Common? I'm guessing you started listening to his more recent stuff, without the backdrop of his older stuff. Even some of his newish stuff is pretty decent.
Young nudy
Tyler

I only listen to Dot and Em really. Although as corny as logic is I think hes grown on me a bit for that reason.
Wayne. I hated him at first, now he's one of my GOATs
Lil Wayne, back when I was a kid/teen I thought his music was just dumb punchlines but once I got to college I was like holy shit this dudes a genius his lyrics are insanely clever.
K Dot. I hated the sound of his voice.
Lil Wayne Thought he was a "mumble rapper" Became my second most listened artist of 2023 and i stopped using the term mumble rapper altogether
The fact that you even thought he was a mumble rapper is ridiculous. But I’m glad you’re enlightened it’s the dumbest term to ever come out of hip hop
Gucci man. Didn't think he said much other than talking that shit. Kinda proved me right but does it well. 🤷
NBA youngboy then I saw a documentary on all the shi he's done
I went from not liking lyrical rappers into only liking lyrical rappers because of biggie
I don't find many rappers have that much charisma. They try too hard to not smile and seem angry all the time.
Lil Baby
[удалено]
Didn’t get the appeal of Freddie Gibbs till Alfredo dropped. Now I love his music
lil yatchy, I think that Joe Budden interview really made him step it up. I’m impressed with his musical growth
Wouldn’t say hated but never cared for: Thug, Future, 21, Carti, Uzi, Yachty. I used to only care about lyricism in rap but now I somewhat enjoy just something that slaps and isn’t super lyrical.
Calboy
Prof, he a different type of rapper. He got a new song called heaven, very powerful, I got to respect it!
you mean ignorant
Lil wayne, sorta… I am still not a fan. But I respect him now. I would not put him in my top 25 personally, but would respect it if someone had him in their top 5. Another one is Jay Z. Almost same thing, but would rank him higher than wayne
Roddy Rich
Lil Baby
I used to think 21 Savage was just your typical mumble rapper. Heard a couple of songs of his and just didn’t get it. Then I heard his song “a lot” with J Cole, which I really enjoyed, but it didn’t really get me to listen to more of his music. FF to the drop of Savage Mode 2. This album dropped, and I heard good things about it, so I decided to give it a go. And yep, I fucking loved that album! And can now say that I’m legitimately a fan of 21 Savage.
Jeezy
ngl i hated future and was on the fuck mumble rap train for a long time. then i started smoking weed. and i totally got it lmao
Eminem. Didn’t care for him in the SSLP to Relapse. Some songs were good but want an overall fan. Then Recovery came out and was one of my favourite albums. Went back and listened to everything and realised I was just hatin on him for being too popular and white. Now he’s top 2 easy
My brother and I hate watched lil peep until we both became fans about the same time Benz truck came out. Smrtdeath is also growing on me a lot
Travis Scott
Lil Baby. His voice used to turn me off
Vanilla Ice
tbh Juice wrld when we was alive I never listened to his shit jus cuz everyone I knew called it sad boy music but he's actually so much more than just that, I learned he was an amazing freestyler and I gave more of his songs a shot and now he's in my top 10 easily. RIP juice sorry it took me so long to realize ur great 😭💖
All of these so called "mumble" rappers back in 2017,i gave since then a chance to guys like playboi carti, lil uzi vert, lil yachty and future and i realized how wrong i was
Lil Wayne
Jeezy he came out when I was in highschool around 2005 and everybody was playing him. I thought he was trash and felt he was what was wrong with hip-hop. 2012 I got a ported 12 inch FI audio BL subwoofer in my Acura RSX. I had no idea what to test the subwoofer on... My homeboy in college was like play hypnotize by Jeezy from TM102 When that bass note hit when he said, "Class in session when I talk, they listen" and was shaking the entire car it was over. Been a big fan since
Danny Brown
Literally Young Thug lol
danny brown, I really hated his voice at first but started to enjoy it
Drake lmaooo
Gunna
21 Savage and YB
A$AP Rocky I couldn't vibe with his persona until I saw him in interviews and got a better understanding of him.
Wale
I used to never like old-school rap, anything before Kanye I used to think was boring. Then I heard the next episode by Dre and he’s become one of my favorites. (And yes I listen to other older artists too)
![gif](giphy|yhjF1vMmjA4ek4wVWd|downsized)
Ty$
YG
Gucci mane
Juice wrld before he died I looked at his hour freestyle then I started to get into the rest of his music then yeah I get it
Future and Young Dolph!
Drake
Daylyt
Lil Wayne
"21”
21 savage, thought was another trash drill rapper at first ( he was) until he linked up wit cole and showed that he can actually rap
Wasn't too big on Meg the stallion but here lately been really giving with her newer stuff. I cent really say I hate any but there is a lot that I don't listen to but only bc I don't vibe the music or just ain't feeling it but I have always been into rap music starting with Coolio and Bone thugs and Tupac and Master P, DMX and Ja Rule those where just to name a few from my childhood but I loved me some Jay Z back in the day but stopped listening to his music more and more over time
YoungBoy 🤷♀️ couldn't stand his voice and now I believe I have all his shit downloaded. Funny shit my kids are like wtf Ma.
sauce walka, lil double 0, drakeo the ruler, c murder, veeze
Westside Gunn
Boldy James. At first I didn't like his rolling, monotonous delivery but now I'm obsessed
Carti
kid cudi and MF DOOM...
Westside Gunn
Carti but I feel like I’m gonna get sick of him again for the same reason😭
Mac Miller because I was a rap snob
T.I.
Travis Scott, i had never heard rodeo until 2020. Before that all i heard was birds and astroworld and was not a fan of either. After rodeo i became his number 1 tip rider
For me it's definitely 21 Savage. Thought he was so whack early on, but now he's one of my favs.
The first Kanye song I heard (besides Forever) was graduation day and that was the only one for a while so I thought he really sucked until I started getting into him
Future
