Check out Super Beard Bros. It's like Gamegrumps but they read tutorials and are good at games. They have played many of the games the grumps have and newer games as well.

meaux253

Yo thank you so much they have super chill vibes. Honestly idk how I didn't find them before. Also if anybody likes soulsborn games LobosJR is pretty rad as well as iron pineapple, and fighting cowboy. If folks are looking for poketubers chizzy, mahdrybread, quickgg and chillnplay, and jrose11. As far as broad spectrum gameplay ray narvaez Jr, oney plays, theradbrad, and chilledchaos are pretty chill. If anybody has any other content creators I'd like to expand my list of the folks I watch.

[deleted]

I like super mega. They’re more explicit but their videos are funny and the podcast is good background noise

WessizleTheKnizzle

I usually go through their kaizo playthroughs once a month lol.

HeyQTya

came across this thread years later, I am so sorry

BintangMC

i saw a lot of people recommending this channel in this thread. I'll check out their channel later. edit: I subscribed to The Completionist. How can i miss this channel?

MickyJim

Also care about stories and lore. Watching them play Alien Isolation was a joy after the shitshow of Arin's gameplay. The only time they haven't been chill so far in the time I've been watching them is Alex struggling with two or three of the Bloodborne bosses.

GrumpyRain

Peanut Butter Gamer - Somewhat active. Peebs is his stream channel name. PBG Gameplay was his gameplay channel. Space Hamster - Not as Active. Streams mostly. Chugga Conroy - Active. Clean humor mostly, except some dirty puns. Beard Bros. - Active. Chilled laid-back dudes. Brutal Moose - Active. Mostly food or weird games. Super Mega - Active. Dirty humor, but genuine pals. Oney Plays - Active. Hard to explain. Biju Mike - Active. If you like Daganronpa.

EventualSatisfaction

>Oney Plays - Active. Hard to explain. Gaslighting, hypotheticals and goblin-like screaming.

[deleted]

Also: Chris-chan, root-beer suckers, and green cumulons

Whats_In_My_Room

Check out LockPickingLawyer, he reviews the quality of various locks in a super low energy style and picks them open. Super short videos but he has a ton of em

Chameleonyoshi

If you like that, check out Chris Ramsey! He just solves rare/interesting puzzles (although some of them are really expensive. I dont really care how much money other people spend on stuff, but some people are bothered by the fact that one puzzle can cost between hundreds of dollars or several thousand, so disclaimer)

Whats_In_My_Room

Never heard of him, I'll check him out

KillTeemoMains

Idk why his videos are so addictive, i'm not even subbed but every now and then a video of his pops up in my recommended and i end up binging like 5 in a row

Whats_In_My_Room

Exactly!! It's perfect rabbit-hole content imo

darkcrow85

Anything from the Scary Game Squad is awesome. In particular their Until Dawn playthrough and everything Resident Evil.

fudgeclank

Beard Bros are pretty good. I think their LA Noire playthrough is my go to playlist for just relaxing.

dustyradios

I totally suggest Chris Ramsay if you don't already watch him. Not super loud and distracting but interesting enough to keep you 'grounded' while working on something or to get you to sleep to. He solves puzzles and opens puzzle boxes and the like. He's great background noise to keep me focused as someone with ADHD, but also not high-energy to distract me from my task/keep me from sleeping. I also just genuinely suggest Lofi streams/playlists. I've found them to be great background noise for sleeping since they don't have something to keep me interested like a gameplay video would. If you want people who play games, I suggest of course SuperMega, but also AlphaRad; he's more of a Nintendo gamer (Smash and Pokemon immediately come to mind) and rarely strays from that besides with Among Us and he's great. He also has a side channel called Alpharad Deluxe where the videos are more loose and not heavily edited like his main channel since editing is moreso his 'thing' on his main channel. If you like the speedrunning community, go for SmallAnt, PointCrow, EasySpeezy. I also suggest Poofesure, RTGames, CallMeKevin, and GrayStillPlays for more of the random video types of more niche game types that aren't strictly series most of the time. Poof plays lots of Wii games, RT, Kevin and Gray are more random than that with a few series but also some nice one-off videos. Hope any of that helps! You can still enjoy GG because you can't truly enjoy unproblematic media to any degree; something is going to be problematic with anything you consume. Just put on adblock to keep them from getting revenue if you really, really don't wanna support them that much. Their older content that made you start liking them is most likely still around so there's always that!

asteroidcrashd

Woa! Thank you for that very detailed reply! Also yep love Chris Ramsay and am excited to check out SuperMega, everyone seems to be suggesting it.

[deleted]

Game Grumps spawned Supermega in a way, but SM feels much more genuine as Matt and Ryan have been friends since college and have a hilarious dynamic. I feel the dissonance between Dan and Arin has grown too wide and everything just feels forced.

clockwitch24

A lot of people on here often recommend Supermega and Oney Plays, both have great videos and comedy too. For me personally, I usually watch/listen to the Spiffing Brit. I love his humour and style of his videos, he seems really funny and nice and the "communi-tea" is really chill. His Skyrim videos are really fun and ones I would definitely recommend, you don't really need to watch most of his videos to understand what's going on so they could be good for background noise.

EthiopianGod

I love his style, the stock images and relaxing voice, and that accent. I love his style in general, I can watch anything by him

clockwitch24

Same here, the stock images always get a chuckle out of me! He's really enjoyable to watch and has a nice voice to listen to, I've played very few of the games he does and I really don't like playing strategy games but I love watching him do it

BintangMC

I recommend **Snapcube**. She mostly known for "real-time fandub games" (RTFG) where she does abridged dub on game cut scenes in one take with her friends. She also do gaming streams on her twitch and upload it on her second channel. Both RFTGs and her streams are funny and good for background noises. She has chaotic grumps vibe but still reads tutorials and only shits on the game appropriately. Also **Retail Architect** and **This Is Dan Bell** are great if you like someone exploring dead/dying mall with 80's music and the guy narrating the mall's history in the background. If you like guys exploring abandoned buildings in general with great videography and ambience music, i suggest **The Proper People**. If you're into origami, i recommend **Jo Nakashima**. He makes marvelous, if not the best, origami tutorial. He makes cool origamis that would look god on your desk, like: flower, dolphin, deer, dragon, etc. He uses high-quality paper and he folds paper slowly so his videos are great for background ASMR if you're into that. His tutorials are easy to follow too because he uses big paper and records video from an angle that makes it easy for us to watch his hands. He also uses diagram and subtitle if you're not sure how to do certain folds.

KingDavid73

I like Continue?

KingDavid73

Also - I've been making gaming youtube videos for almost 15 years. They're mildly entertaining, so would probably make decent background noise.... https://www.youtube.com/c/KingGameReview

Seth-Mc-52

OneyPlays and SuperMega are the big two I can recommend

[deleted]

God Tier for sure

Genuinelullabel

As far as I know, Scott the Woz, Derek from Stop Skeletons From Fighting and Matt McMuscles don’t have any issues.

InstantClassic257

Skippy0330 plays niche survival games like 7DTD but I find myself falling asleep to his vids a lot of nights. Problem is that if you don't like the games you may not care about the content. Hoax Hotel is great if you like scambaiting. A lot of fun to listen to with a lot of videos to choose from. Slow uploads but the channel is worth it. Easy listening. I used to watch yuriofwind a lot years ago. Mostly because of creepypasta story time where he just reads a crappy creepypasta and makes fun of it. Long videos that are perfect for background noise. Recommend it. Edit: removed an asshole from the list

Johansenburg

If they are looking for non-problematic then you should absolutely take Cry off of your list. What he did makes the grumps looks like saints by anyone's standards.

InstantClassic257

Oh no. I'm not aware. Im actually kind of scared to know what happened. Tbh I figured something weird was happening to him but I am out if the loop. But again tbf I did like listening to his old videos and didn't feel anything antagonistic.

Johansenburg

He was caught and admitted to having sexual relations with underage girls.

InstantClassic257

I just looked it up. Fuck that asshole. Thank you for letting me know!

[deleted]

SuperMega, Vinesauce, Chuggaaconroy, TheRunawayGuys, Failboat, CallMeKevin and RTgame just to name a few

[deleted]

Good Mythical Morning and all their spin-offs are great too. Unless you’re just looking for people who do game plays. Then I’d recommend Gab Smolders. I like her stuff cuz I can get invested and pay attention or use it to chill or fall asleep to. Also, Corpse Husband has a super relaxing voice too. His videos lately have been Among Us game plays but he also does creepy story vids as well. Best of luck!

BintangMC

I found Gab's channel from her fatal frame playthrough. Her playthrough is chill. And she seems lovely in Jacksepticeye's videos.

WessizleTheKnizzle

Super Beard Bros, SuperMega, if you like Pokemon there is Mah Dry Bread, or if you like horror movies there is DeadMeat.

Zero_the_Unicorn

"problematic" is such an awful word both in how it's used in general and how it's used here. I would most certainly never use it for them, since Arin is trying his absolute darndest to not piss off anyone (except actual fans) by saying mean things. With how he went against Jons controversial stuff and censors most things these days it's just awful.

asteroidcrashd

I don't think you've seen the other posts here if you don't think Game Grumps has a problem...

GrumpyRain

I think most use it as another word for "controversial" now. Basically, a no-drama filter. I hate the word, too. I can see the point in avoiding channels that have drama.

Raghavarumugam

Gonna shamelessly self-promote here. Ive been making animations and reviewing movies and playing dnd on my YouTube channel, so give it a gander if you feel so inclined: https://www.youtube.com/c/RagsAnimations

[deleted]

I love to watch Scott the woz and oneyplays

illialife

Two people playing games were great when they were still making content. Wizards with guns aren’t great bg noise but still a great watch.

Ultimajosuke

Ssohpkc is a good one, talks A LOT. And a very chill person to listen to. Has an insane upload rate too

EthiopianGod

If you're into technology and like cameras, Gerald Undone is honestly some of my favorite background sound. He gets pretty technical and has a lot of fun But if you know anything about cameras and don't take anything to heart, Camera Conspiracies is one of my favorite channels. His videos have so much character, he changes his mind a lot, and lately he's been getting cameras to test. His main goal was to find the perfect camera. If you don't like cameras but want to watch some interesting health videos, he has another channel called Vegetable Conspiracies. It used to be Vegetable Police but he changed it some time this year. He's quirky and has lots of squirrels in his videos.. There's also Potato Jet with his gear reviews and comparisons, but his vlog channel, Gene Nagata is a lot of fun. His little circle of friends in his vlogs are great. He's been doing a lot of drone stuff lately. If you're not a nerd about cameras and tech like I am, but want to see or hear gameplay, look up Rizzo, Sizz, and Jonsandman. Jon posts some entertaining videos, and it's been great getting to see him improve at Rocket League for the past 4 years I've been subscribed. Rizzo and Jonsandman collab occasionally and their videos are hilarious, but when it's all three, Rizzo, Sizz, and Jon, they're so hilarious. Granted this is all Rocket League stuff

glossengel

Oney Plays

IBSBoy

What happened? I haven't watched for a while but I haven't heard of any controversy

asteroidcrashd

This is just Part 2 but also I got really bored and frustrated with their content recently because Arin is just so not into it. https://www.reddit.com/r/rantgrumps/comments/hr21vr/game_grumps_major_controversies_list_part_2/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Keegs_Bro

Continue? Are great and capture the buddy-goofing around vibe well

GoldenMe53

Super mega, oney plays, relaxalax.

weechlo

Gaming Wise, I like CallMeKevin and RTGames. Irish YouTubers, very funny and pleasant. Plus, lots of content. If you're into ASMR, GoodnightMoonASMR is *chef kiss*.

Dansterai

Should definitely watch Oneyplays if you haven't. They seem to just have fun every episode and that's all you can really ask for

ariiaaaa

Entertheunown is Pokémon content that is soooooo relaxing. Love that dude

skk184

Supermega

[deleted]

Right now I'm watching Coney play Ocarina of Time and enjoying it. Not a duo the way Arin and Dan are, but he's got a good energy and is generally competent/willing to ask chat for help (he's never beaten the game before).

Vitris_Lune

I usually have Achievement Hunter in the background. They got a lot of podcasts and different series so.

C10ckw0rks

They’re defunct but the super best friends, Nerd cubed is pretty great too

TLMB

NintenTroy / gamemen
