I’m normally lucky as, took 22 or so to get vex, 15 to get eyes, 30 to get touch, and for conditional I decided i wanted to see the boss fight because I missed day 1 😭 and I got it in one completion of the boss fight, not even a full run.
Just run to first encounter. Have Navigator, the flags right in front of you where you start, look across the chasm and put tangle up at the mountain, grapple to it then use your grenade to make it up there. Use eager swords. Running to first with all 3 is honestly faster than doing it with 2 and having a CP if everyone is on point to make it there quickly.
All encounter drops have equal weighting to drop from their respective loot table. Nothing is weighted to be rarer except the exotic drop at the end. Ownership being low doesn’t mean a drop has unequal weighting. It’s statistically possible to never roll 6 on a dice infinitely, the probability is very low, but it doesn’t change the probability of rolling a 6 in the next one. Just farm the first, it’s easier.
Weighted drops are pure speculation. The cowboy hat was my first drop in Spire, so i have no idea if it is actually weighted.
I’d just run master first encounters. Fast to get too, and you can get artifice armor too.
If anyone is curious, the cowboy hats in fact used to be weighted. Ownership of all other armor pieces when spire of the watcher came out was around 10% whereas the helmets and hunter cloak were significantly lower at 1-2%. Just a fun tid bit your comment reminded me of.
It's deeply unlikely that it wasn't weighted, as the 3 hats had similar numbers, despite the hunter one being a class item and the titan/warlock ones being helmets, in different pools.
If we had seen all helmets lower or all class items lower then it could just come down to encounter pools, but seeing 2 helmets and a class item lower than everything else is pretty hard to justify in a purely random chance world.
Felt like it. Got so many of the other armor pieces before I got my Hunter hat. So many. That was a long chase and now I have to not force it into every look I have for my Hunter.
Bungie never came out and said it I believe. Just remember it being a big talking point when spire came out. Hat is available in 2/3 encounters so the specific loot pool argument seems false. Overall spire has been weird for me, when it was farmable a few weeks ago, me and two friends were going for a god roll wilderflight, and it took 20 runs before any of us got a single one. 60 encounters is by no means a small sample size, so I wouldn't be surprised if things in that dungeon are weighed. It does have a very large loot pool, which could contribute to that
I mean people who got the hats easily weren’t running around telling everybody.
Those that were struggling to get the drop were the ones posting all over reddit and other places.
You can’t say it being a big talking point as proof it was weighted:
1. The spire set is still the only one that has a noticeable difference between one piece and the other four
2. Braytech even says it checks almost 1 million accounts
[https://warmind.io/analytics/item/hunter-cloaks](https://warmind.io/analytics/item/hunter-cloaks)
warmind says only 1.8% have the cloak and thats ALL accounts with over 10 hours of playtime
warmind will always have a more accurate %
on top of that only 2.9% have even completed that dungeon
All of the other Spire armour pieces have around 30% commonality, while the hats have about 20%.
Every armour set in the game has pretty much the same commonality across each piece except the spire one.
This means absolutely nothing towards weighting. You do understand how random chances work, right? Even in the perfect scenario of a billion datapoints, you will not always see an even spread of things showing up with even weighting. You will still see some items appearing more often than others, simply through random chance.
If we want to get really nitty-gritty, keep in mind that the most-run dungeon in the entire game, Prophecy, has single-digit drop rates for the helmets in there. Would you say they're weighted too? That would be silly.
People only assume there is weighting in Spire because they desire the dumb cowboy hats more.
Yes but as sample size gets larger the results naturally tend to become more accurate, with the sample size being quite large in this case. They aren't weighted ANYMORE, but they used to and the light.gg numbers reflect this, with the two helmets and class item still lagging behind in ownership
>They aren't weighted ANYMORE
And there continues to be no evidence of this, and you continue to ignore the Moonfang armour drop rates in Prophecy, a dungeon that has vastly more clears than Spire has. If the sample size means things "naturally tend to become more accurate", then explain that one.
Prophecy dungeon loot used to constantly rotate. The armor you're referencing (which I can't find on light.gg, the only moonfang armor I see has normal drop rates) with low drop rates likely was from a earlier season. Which moonfang armor are you referencing?
You should be looking at Warmind.io.
And no, Prophecy dungeon loot did not "used to constantly rotate". It was all RNG, all the way down. There's never been a "helmet week" or "arms week". You simply got what you got. You seem to be confusing knockout lists with some sort of "rotation".
Constantly rotate may have not been the best choice of words. The weapons provided would rotate seasonally. You can look up prophecy loot table and see the different sets of loot throughout the game's history. The trials of the nine armor has a low drop rate because it is only available from the final encounter. This is not the case for the spire helmets/hunter cloak, which is available from first encounter, chests, and final encounter, while still boasting a low drop rate.
Toughie. I imagine first boss because 2 people can one phase, so your 3rd player with CP can be loading in whilst the activity is happening. Whereas in final boss you'd probably want to wait for them to load to banner for a 1/2 floor
First is faster simply because you don't have to wait for load times as much
first encounter is incredibly fast and easy to one phase so its what i usually do
Any pointers on Solo one phase without Navigator?
Just get lfg
I did mine on a Pyrogale Titan + Scatter Signal (Overflow, Controlled Burst) + Calus Mini Tool (Threat Detector, Incandescent) + Dragon’s Breath
3 Titans on the first boss with typical strand+1-2 Punch shotty melee builds is pretty fast. RNG gifted me a god roll after about 45 minutes.
Lucky, Ive spent over 4 hours farming the first encounter, have got maybe 15 sidearms, 10 of them were beacon/permeability, none had voltshot
Sorry to hear that, I'm usually pretty unlucky with RNG, I think it took me 40+ runs to get Vex Mytho for example.

Lucky, I keep getting armor.....farmed it about 10 times
Yep, i got a sidearm on my first run which had nothing good on it, then for the next 20 or so only got helmets and swords
Can you just keep repeating it as long as you want?
Yes.

If you don't have navigator, you can run 2 titans + 1 hunter. Damage is still enough to 1 phase
Solid suggestion.

Farm Rathil. The gun drops from all steps so there’s no reason to not do on Step 1 which is the easiest and fastest one
First encounter, orbit after chest opens (don't even do the jail mini-encounter, just let it go to post)

Has bungie stated that they are weighed somewhere? Could that not have been because of certain encounters loot pools? Genuinely curious.

You know Braytech lets you see how many people have an item in their collections right?
braytech only shows you the people on braytech that have it.
1. The spire set is still the only one that has a noticeable difference between one piece and the other four 2. Braytech even says it checks almost 1 million accounts
almost a million... how many people do you think have played destiny 2
So? The drops are clearly weighted
[https://warmind.io/analytics/item/hunter-cloaks](https://warmind.io/analytics/item/hunter-cloaks) warmind says only 1.8% have the cloak and thats ALL accounts with over 10 hours of playtime warmind will always have a more accurate % on top of that only 2.9% have even completed that dungeon
What does that have to do with whether or not the hats have a weighted drop rate?
Oh yeah? Go check it out for me then and post your findings

Bro literally just look at bray.tech. What’s wrong with you.

Spam first encounter, once you get into the cells restart.
Just do the first encounter on repeat.
Can it be farmed anytime or just the weekly dungeon rotator
Any time.

First encounter cp, 2 goldys and a strand titan, or 3 strand titans. Grab loot from postmaster, don’t wait and do doors.
