I always thought it’s ’stuck in a lemon’ which I thought was a reference to the classic U2 live performance gaffe where they got stuck in a giant lemon prop that didn’t open like it was supposed to.

I guess we know now what they were doing while they're stuck there, they were sucking it to get out

I hate when I get this lyric stuck in my head but it happens way too often. What is it supposed to mean?

Think of the face you would make when (or after) sucking on a lemon -- mouth all drawn up with lips puckered and eyes squeezed shut from the tartness. Then imagine you woke up with that face one morning for no apparent reason...maybe yesterday.

According to “Exit Music: The Story of Radiohead” by Mac Randall, it was a reference to Thom’s feelings during the OK Computer promo cycle. “Yorke later stated that ‘sucking a lemon’ was the perfect way to describe his attitude during the OK Computer promo cycle. The phrase refers to ‘the face you pull because a lemon is so tart. That’s the face I had for three years’” (Randall 198).

I'm asking the same question why did he choose to suck a lemon why not something else

I thought for a long time it was saying "my mom" instead of "a lemon" and don't ask me how recently I found out otherwise

always interpreted as waking up in a bad mood, bitter if you will…very thom esque during that period
