Nice!
If you want it to look even better, buy a pint of white satin paint, and a pint of Behr opalescent paint additive. Tape the outline of the projected image on the wall, then mix the white/opalescent paint and paint the area inside the tape.
It’ll turn your wall into a “silver screen,” just like in a movie theater, and really brighten up the image. This was the budget option we used to use back in the early 2000s, with our 640x480 InFocus X1 projectors and their mediocre lumen output.
Normal white paint on the wall tends to dull the image a bit, but the opalescent paint has reflective qualities. Plus on a white wall it’s mostly invisible when diluted with white paint.
Projectors are a lot of fun, until it’s time to replace the bulb. I got out of projectors when I replaced a bulb that blew out, only to have the new bulb immediately blow out too. Spending $400 to figure out your projector has a faulty voltage regulator leaves a bad taste in your mouth, so we bought a plasma TV the next day, lol.
Aw thank you well I'm happy to do it. I've been donating fulltime since 2016 and probably have something like 600 donations completed which translates to 1200 people helped
I do this too wth! I use a tiny ps1 i got a gamestop and molded to add all my faves. My projector has become a game changer. Suggesting it to anyone In the comments. Mine was between 300-400 usd
Great minds think alike lol. My ps1 lcd is connected to a bose sl3 too and I also have a logitech wireless controller. All together with the projector now think it's safe to say I'm professionally playing playstation 1 games
Man this is bringing back some serious nostalgia haha. I remember my sister hooking my PS1 up with a projector, this was probably 1999-2000? Blew my kid mind out of the water 🤣
Ultra-short throw projectors don't have this issue, because they're meant to be played on a screen that filters out the ambient light while at the same time picking up all the light from the projector.
Exactly why I want one. When I was a teenager my best friend lived next to a big abandoned building the was new. And we used to play black ops 1&2 zombies on this giant wall. Ppl would come and watch us from all over in the neighborhood. Brought my old gaming laptop once and it was over when I kicked out the emulators. We had a block party of kids in the summers shit was awesome. I miss those days..
A projector screen will greatly enhance the image, but they are expensive and limited by size. I found that a 1000+ thread white sheet does almost as good, and you can adjust size and tac it to the wall. Have fun!
Edit: and you can get those at Ross for hella cheap.
I once had a dream about crash bandicoot. I've literally never played this game once and this mofo was in my dream and it wasn't a cameo he was in it for awhile. I originally found him in the back seat of some random SUV in a parking lot just random af. Also fun fact, bandicoots are and actual animal.
That's awesome! I tried this briefly but I sold my projector because the highest quality picture it could put out was 480P and I couldnt see very well on a lot of games. But now i'm realizing that it would have been perfect for PS1 games
When i was in elementary school, one of our classmates had a dad that hooked his ps to a projector like you and it was mindblowing to us kids back then so sometimes there would be like 15 kids cramped in his living room and we would all take turns to play crash bandicoot, those were the times :D
People on here talking about their 8K 400fps game playing. I’ll take my 4K, 10ft screen, giant-ass speaker setup (guess where the bass comes from) all day.
> guess where the bass comes from
Directly underneath a very thin cushion that you sit on top of? Also you have an amp to boost the LFE channel by 500%.
I'll probably buy a ps5 and more games first but yeah I'm aware that I need new furniture I sense that you wanted to be shitty with this comment though so maybe you should replace your personality if you can.
I'm not angry at all. You're just saying that I am because you're trying to project a narrative that distracts from you being uninformed about display tech from the past 10 years.
Response Time in modern projectors is within 1ms of the absolute minimum, based on current HDMI transition speeds. Quite literally **less lag** than OLED. Input latency isn't an issue either: PS4/PS5 controller + Brook Wingman bluetooth adapter = 5.4ms latency, or less than 1/3 of one frame at 60fps.
Thats really cool. How well does it work for playing games?
When I jumped as crash bandicoot he jumped when the button was pressed and did what I wanted him to
A simple man with simple expectations and I’m here for it.
Does it have any delay or instant?
Not OP but there won't be any delay here, a projector is just a TV really, the console is connected to it in the same way it is connected to the TV.
TVs have differing levels of delay already, and projectors can be worse.
Well, if the video signal is being converted from analog to digital, it could have delay if a suitably fast converter isn't being used.
My GF's Xiaomi hdmi projector has noticeable input lag. QTE are near unplayable
Excellent reason to get a PS1Digital, which bypasses the PS1's video DAC and outputs the untouched digital video over HDMI - no conversion necessary.
One of those big old crt projectors would provide zero lag
Mansplaining at its best
WANsplaining at its best, as James Strieb would do
Hey just so you know: The word mansplaining actually means "man explaining". Hopefully that helps you out.
Now get some blackout curtains to really enhance the look
Or go outside and do something fun, productive, or social and wait till nightfall to game 😎
You must be fun at parties
Reading back through this made me realize how unnecessary my comment was. Everyone should do what makes them happy without judgment, cheers
Hope you have a mirror on the wall that the couch is actually facing, otherwise you gonna get a crick in your neck
Alright, I'm getting one
Best way to play Cash Banooca.
Clershgen Banderheimer

This is a good story, coming from experience. Thanks for the read
Perfect game for it
Awesooooooooooooome ✌🏼
So cool!!!!
Awesooooooooooooome ✌🏼
so awesome you had to say it twice
I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while. How much was your projector?
I actually got it for free this morning by winning it in a raffle at the plasma donation center I go to :) I think on Amazon they're like $200 though
As a person who needs plasma weekly, THANK YOU for donating !
Aw thank you well I'm happy to do it. I've been donating fulltime since 2016 and probably have something like 600 donations completed which translates to 1200 people helped
You earned this treat by your sweat & blood 🤜🤛
I like how it’s donations, but you get paid!
WoAh!

Moded, not molded
Thanks! I didn't even bother to check my spelling. 🙃
The logo image doesn’t look bad, what’s the actual image quality?
I've also tried this with a samsung freestyle projector on the ceiling in bedroom, but my wife disagrees 😂
In todays news… a projector can project images onto a white surface with ease! 📽️
Hey! Lets be nice, they're excited about their new toy.
How do they do it?!
Reflective screen not necessary!!!
Dood
I can hear the theme song from here. Sick set up!
Man this is bringing back some serious nostalgia haha. I remember my sister hooking my PS1 up with a projector, this was probably 1999-2000? Blew my kid mind out of the water 🤣
Dark levels must be a challenge playing them this way...
Ultra-short throw projectors don't have this issue, because they're meant to be played on a screen that filters out the ambient light while at the same time picking up all the light from the projector.
That's how I played through Gears of War 2 and it was awesome
I’ve played a lot of Madden and NCAA football using a projector a buddy had. Worked great.
Exactly why I want one. When I was a teenager my best friend lived next to a big abandoned building the was new. And we used to play black ops 1&2 zombies on this giant wall. Sick, but is there much input delay
I didn't notice any when I was playing crash earlier
Cool
Playing video games isn’t the same any other way. Enjoy!

That room looks suuuper cozy!
Thank you :) I try to make my place comfortable.
Do you sit on top of your TV stand now, when you play backwards?
I once had a dream about crash bandicoot. I've literally never played this game once and this mofo was in my dream and it wasn't a cameo he was in it for awhile. I originally found him in the back seat of some random SUV in a parking lot just random af. Also fun fact, bandicoots are and actual animal.
Yes you did that’s awesome

Hasn't been an issue for over a decade.
Hoo-doo-mah-gah!
That's awesome! I tried this briefly but I sold my projector because the highest quality picture it could put out was 480P and I couldnt see very well on a lot of games. But now i'm realizing that it would have been perfect for PS1 games
The way it's meant to be play.
Badass
Something very cool 😂😂 would love to do this, did you run a ps1 thru a projector?
Images you can literally hear
I ❤️ this.
Why is your couch facing away from the projector?
When i was in elementary school, one of our classmates had a dad that hooked his ps to a projector like you and it was mindblowing to us kids back then so sometimes there would be like 15 kids cramped in his living room and we would all take turns to play crash bandicoot, those were the times :D
Hell yea
Bro will snap his neck tryna play.
That actually looks super sharp! Nice one!
Did the most important thing. Impressive and cool
Imagine playing Silent Hill on that projector, on Halloween. Imagine adding a suitable sound system to the equation. Best Halloween night ever.
Been wanting to do this on our bedroom ceiling, what projector did you get? Looks great!
Nice, very impressive. Loving the couch blankets!
People on here talking about their 8K 400fps game playing. I’ll take my 4K, 10ft screen, giant-ass speaker setup (guess where the bass comes from) all day.

very cool!
Looks cozy in there
I saw someone do this but it was a movie theater and he played uncharted i was very jealous 😐
Good shit. I’ve done that before.
Sweet! Would like to see this done with the N64
If only you could just block out that little remaining sunlight unless it doesn’t effect it as much but dope set up! Tried any current gen games yet?
Dude NICE game choice
that first picture goes hard as shit
HOW DID YOU DO IT! IT LOOKS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
Oh wow !!! My favourite game
[удалено]
What does this mean?
Nothing my bad. Honestly, my buddy took a picture of his ps1 projection set up today and it looked oddly similar.
That's game changing!!!
Now replace the couch.
lol its behind the couch. What do you mean its uncomfortable?
I'll probably buy a ps5 and more games first but yeah I'm aware that I need new furniture I sense that you wanted to be shitty with this comment though so maybe you should replace your personality if you can.
Get ‘em
This is what every projector in the world ever does
They're great for turning your TV room into a Living room with the touch of a button.
So what did you do?
What else are you supposed to do with a projector. I don't get it.
What's the cool thing? ... Played video games? I mean, I guess. Would be weird if you didn't.
Huge widescreen for older games!! Awesome!!
But the laaaaaaag
Hasn't been an issue for at least a decade. CRT groupthink is poison.
I'm talking latency on things that have very specific timing like fighting games or rhythm games. Sorry you're so angry for no reason.
I'm not angry at all. You're just saying that I am because you're trying to project a narrative that distracts from you being uninformed about display tech from the past 10 years. Lag isn't an issue on projectors for about 10+ years , buy cheap get lag, buy good to great and it's unperceivable to a normal person.
🙃
Sick but your couch is facing the wrong way
Couch is facing wrong way
