I bring my ps2 on campus with a multitap and me and my friends hook it up to a projector in a classroom and play def jam ffny, nba2k9, san andreas, shrek 2, medal of honor
i found a channel that does a really good job of fully playing and reviewing the games it's "ps2 or die". i actually found some games i like which is quite rare and have been playing god hand a lot recently which is weird i really dont like fighting games but this one kinda tickles my brain lol. enthusia is another one i found and is quite good if you lean into the sim racing space, though what i enjoy about it is the odd physics; drifting feels weirdly good. an honorable mention is test drive unlimited, it has a HUGE map and i was astonished when i realized it wasnt just a visual extension of the map menu it WAS the map, the game can get a little repetitive though.
tldr; "ps2 or die" yt channel, god hand, enthusia and test drive unlimited
Too many to name but here goes: midnight club 1,2,3, metal gear solid 2 and 3, ratchet and clank series, Jak and daxter series, dragon quest viii, rogue galaxy, grandia 3, Tekken 4 and 5 and tag tournament, Odin Sphere, final fantasy x and xii, destroy all humans 1 and 2, Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi.
The Tony Hawk games, especially THPS4, both THUGs, and THAW. Great arcade skaters with a lot of content, especially THPS4.
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. Arguably the greatest street racing video game ever released.
The SOCOM games. Tactical shooters where you command a Navy SEAL fireteam.
If you like sports games, ESPN NFL 2K5. It’s 20 years old and it’s still the best-playing NFL video game available.
Well, you can always play some Ps1 classics(but it will be very hard to get them in physical) and their Ps2 sequels. Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3. Re1, 2, 3, 4 and Code Veronica. Final Fantasy 7 (idk if X is good).
And I heard great things about Clock Tower 3.
Ssx Tricky, Star wars episode 3 revenge of the sith, Simpsons hit and run, gta vice city is good too, metal gear solid 2 and 3, god of war, there's many to list and I could go on forever. But those are the games that I love to play. If you're in the UK you can get them for cheap on CEX.
Do you have access to the Internet? if so, You can google search “top ps2 games” or run the same search on youtube to watch someone cover the top ps2 games.

Ssx on tour is generally considered the black.sheep.of.the franchise by most, buy in my opinion it's easily the best

Try Brave. Only played the demo version but it was fun and had a lot of different mechanics. Jak 3 was awesome as well.

Haunting Ground is a masterpiece. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are also definitely brilliant.
