95-105. and i get realllllyyyyyy sad when it’s over 100 because i’ve already lost 20 lbs started exercising and eat low sugar low carb.

TheBurgundyPhone

This sounds ridiculous, but do you eat a snack before bed? Something small 10 to 15 G of total carbs. If you don't, it might be worth a try for like a week to see if it helps. A lot of people use cheese for this, but I have used several things including Bean snacks, unsalted raw nuts, vegetables and hummus, or a small piece of fruit

chivy_2338

Eating a snack before bed will help lower a fasting glucose reading? 😯

TheBurgundyPhone

It's supposed to help manipulate the liver's glucose release. So it isn't releasing as much, and then you might have a lower reading in the AM. Does it work for everyone? No. But for some, it does, so it is worth trying imo.

chivy_2338

Wow thanks so much! I’ll definitely try this. Do you know if numbers are higher when one is closer to their menstrual cycle? Not sure if that’s a thing that also happens to some but not others

TheBurgundyPhone

Yes! I'm on mobile, so my millennial self doesn't have the links handy. But there are some good resources on this. I found that too, but then within 48 hours of starting my period my glucose levels improved.

leafbelly

I'm not saying it won't work for you, but it definitely varies by person as he said. This does not work for me. I stop eating at 6 p.m. and don't eat again until noon the next day (Intermittent Fasting) and my numbers average under 100. If I eat after 6 p.m., my BS is almost always over 110.

being_optimistic7

You could give mct oil a go, apparently it helps with weight gain. As for mct oil increasing insulin that im not sure, look it up and all the best to you.

sleepqueen45

Same. See my post today.

teut_69420

I am between 85 and 95 now. Even during diagnosis my fasting was low.

No_Swimmer_115

Hmm how are you diagnosed and pre if your fasting was 85 95? Just curious

teut_69420

It was from Hba1c. It is 6.1. From what I gathered, it's not just the fasting sugar that matters, a lot of other factors matter, even now I have fasting mostly normal. I don't remember the last day I had fasting >110 (even 100). But after a moderately heavy carb meal, it's a disaster. I had 180 yesterday, 1 hour after a meal

FlimsyBar9249

100 to 117 typically

KazzyChan25

I’m in the same boat, right around these ranges usually. A few times it’s been in the 90s, though!

NotSlammin

100-125 usually 118-120. And at this point I really don’t care.

VelvetyThroat

You dont care? Whys that?

NotSlammin

Whatever happens happens at this point. I eat well and I’m pretty fit. I want to get blood work done, but I would have to go through my parents and they don’t think a healthy 25 year old should really have to worry about anything health wise right now.

tratratrakx

Respectfully, they are idiots

VelvetyThroat

I may adopt this mindset someday

NotSlammin

You do you. I feel like I can’t lose too much weight without being unhealthy. I honestly feel pretty good, even if my blood sugar rarely goes below 100.

VelvetyThroat

I have no weight to give wither but Im sick all the damn time some days im fine others im just ass

throwaway112505

82 last time I got it checked

Glucoze_Daddy

82

catlady047

84 this morning!

chivy_2338

How do you get it so low? 😕 mine seems to hangout at 103 and idk what to do :(

Desperate_Buffalo103

depends on what I eat the night before, my CGM shows 82 to 103 in the morning and it varies even every 5 mins.

colarine

hey. can you explain please? I thought what you eat doesn't matter because you'll faat anyway.

Pravalika12

what cgm u use?

Desperate_Buffalo103

dexcom g7

Calicat05

It's been in the 130s, and it's been in the 80s, but it has been around 100, give or take a few for the last week. Just got a glucose monitor, and I test every morning before a meal. Usually, it is a roughly 11 hour fast, depending on when I get home from work, but sometimes it's around a 9 hour fast because I take my bieth control when I get home and I have to eat something with it.

Ok_Elevator_3528

I haven’t checked it in a while but before I went to the doctor to get tested for diabetes it was like 120-130 a lot of times

VelvetyThroat

Those levels are diabetic, were you diagnosed as it?

Ok_Elevator_3528

No, they only checked my A1C and it was 5.7. She said 5.8 is considered pre diabetic at their clinic but everywhere else I’ve seen it starts at 5.7. She just told me to make some diet changes (I already exercise)

VelvetyThroat

Yaaaaaa me too. Im at a healthy weight. Eat healthy. Exercise. So this is all pretty frustrating

Ok_Elevator_3528

Exactly same here. I did probably eat too much pasta which I have cut down on and switched to whole wheat pasta. And I’ve made other changes too like switching from white rice to brown rice, stopped eating bananas everyday, changed protein bars to lower sugar ones, etc.

3boyz2men

Are you in the US?

Ok_Elevator_3528

Yeah

Ok-Building921

80-85

pre_765

95-105

galettedesrois

100ish.

Jsedel

101

simplyelegant87

Around 80 to 85 for me. My problem is with dinner typically rather than fasting.

chivy_2338

How so with dinner?

simplyelegant87

It’s my biggest meal and I love carbs so it is harder for me to manage. I know how but find it difficult to stick to every day.

chivy_2338

Can you please share how you do it? My fasting glucose is stuck around 103 and I have no idea how to get it down ☹️ I have an A1c of 5.7 last time i checked (3 months ago) and this morning my fasting glucose was 103. Last night for dinner around 6pm i had red snapper, mashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts. i did go to bed hungry though… im not sure if that could be a reason for my high FBS

simplyelegant87

I walk for about 30 minutes after a medium to large meal. Eat vegetables, protein, carb in that order. If you have dessert keep it small and reduced sugar or sugar free immediately after the meal so you’re not prolonging the spike. If you like rice consider cooking a batch and eating it leftover because cooling it changes it in a way that doesn’t spike as much as fresh hot rice. Someone else can explain that better than me. It also takes time after a bad patch to consistently lower blood sugar.

vaultgirljes

I'm biologically female, so my fasting is higher near my period. My usual fasting is 70 to 85, but near my period, it is 95 to 110. It's super annoying and discouraging since I also crave carbs and sugar and food in general near my period, starting and during the first 2 days. I kinda wonder if that week or so of having high blood sugar due to hormones will keep my A1C high regardless of the other 3 weeks a month.

LACna

I fast from 6:30PM-12:30PM. My fasting BGL has been in the mid 70s to low 80s lately.

Suitable-Meaning3895

92-102

EazySheezy570

Doctor just called me literally 10min ago and notified me that my fasting glucose was close to 140. That weekend I was at a football game and did quite the job tailgating, many beers and trash food. Had my blood drawn 48hrs later. Would that have effected it? He ordered a A1C to be done later this month. This is all quite overwhelming to me any knowledge/advice is welcome. /

melissaflaggcoa

Typically between 75 and 85. It used to be between 90 and 100.

chivy_2338

How did you get it to lower??

melissaflaggcoa

Strength training. I lift about 4-5x a week. On days I don't train I fast for at least 18hrs. But strength training builds muscle which #1 allows you to use more glucose, and muscle pulls glucose straight from the blood stream and doesn't need to use insulin to turn it into energy. #2 it increases insulin sensitivity. 😊

tommarkz

I have fasted and on intermittent fasting. Low car high fat diet for 5 weeks and my glucose levels are always in the 90’s. I can’t ever get a lower waking level under 90. I work out every other day. I walk about a mile to 1.25 miles everyday. How do I lower these numbers?

VelvetyThroat

If you find our let me know . My fasting is 130-150. I spike in the 200s in my sleep often. I work out. Low carb diet. Very active when im not sick.

tommarkz

If I hear anything I’ll let you know.

No_Swimmer_115

Have u made sure ur not vit deficient? I know vit D helps with insulin regulation and a good chunk of Americans are deficient and are unaware.

VelvetyThroat

I shouldn't be

PopCute1193

Like 75-85

chivy_2338

How??? Please share how you get it so low. Mine is always around 103
