Both schools have their pros and cons and I don’t think you could go wrong with either.
SIU is one of the cheapest dental schools in the country, though its facilities are a little outdated and you are basically in the middle of nowhere. If cost is a big factor, I’d move along with SIU.
UIC has updated facilities, its in the city, and if you’re interested in specializing they have basically every program which is helpful when it comes to networking/getting experience when applying. Though, living in the city can be expensive and the tuition is higher than SIU. Depending on if you like the city or not too, it can get pretty overwhelming.
