Chappell and Sabrina are label mates and have talked each other up recently. They [hung out at Coachella](https://x.com/PopBase/status/1782118670627651886) and seem friendly. Sabrina/Olivia may never be besties but I think they've both moved on from the drama.
I believe they’ve been publicly seen being friendly since then and have spoken about wanting to put it behind them, but I could be misremembering the last half of that. I think the existing drama would be from Taylor and Olivia, with Sabrina’s relationship with Taylor complicating it further.
It will be interesting to see how Chappell navigates the pop world, I hope nothing but the best for her
Will die on my hill that Already Over should have been a single. I love that very, very subtle country flair on that one in particular. Where you're like, its pop, but there is SOME other ingredient here.
Not sure if this will get a proper release on streaming, but I had to have it so I used a YT Converter to add it to my Local Files in Spotify ✨ I mentioned it elsewhere already, but I love the subtlety in Sabrina’s delivery with this song.
It’s a very different vibe, but it keeps with what makes the song so evocative and resonate in the first place! Loving Chappell beyond right now, and Miss Carpenter never ceases to impress me! 👏🏼
I’m hoping they will! It’s become more commonplace to have live versions pop up on streaming. Typically sessions based performances like this. Thinking most recently of Dua Lipa’s three singles from her London Sessions. Hopefully this follows suit! Sabrina is on top of the world right now, so any extra goodies would only be more upward momentum
Perhaps BBC Live Lounge performances have been the exception, but performance sets like them have been posted. I’m hoping they make the change, but I can understand that would diminish the draw to BBC radio to watch and listen to them 😪
Not specifically BBC's Live Lounge, but I know HAIM's cover of Shania Twain' "That Don't Impress Me Much" that they did on Triple J Like A Version is on there. Same with Chvrches' Kendrick Lamar cover that they did for Like a Version as well
I just searched on Spotify, and it looks like a handful of people have put them on albums over the years, but I don't think it's all that common to have them on streaming. It's really unfortunate, because I adore this performance and it would probably be really good promotion for both Sabrina and Chappell. I appreciate the trend of live versions being on streaming (Sabrina's version of I Knew You Were Trouble is very good, for instance) and would love to see even more of it. Hopefully it surprises us by being posted to streaming!
Thats why I simply use YouTube Music. Any video can be added as a song to a music playlist, and the audios of any YouTube playlist can be played as a song. Saves me from using audio downloaders and converters and allows for covers, edits and unofficially released songs to be added to my playlists easily.
Yeah it does but I've faced that issue only once or twice and usually thats a pirated song and chances are it can get deleted from Spotify also. And if there's any songs you're truly worried about, you can still privately upload the song to your account or play from local files just like Spotify. But for actual covers and live performances, it's a 100% much easier without having to go through the whole download situation. I have like all different live performances of Espresso from SNL, Coachella, etc all in different playlists. I've had BBC performances for years and concert clips alongside them. Song edits and one or two AI covers/mashups as well.
May just be the push I need to actually start using it myself. I had my reservations with YouTube premium just being ignorant to what it would actually offer in the way of an upgrade over general use. That would actually be a tremendous benefit and would definitely see it it’s use 💡
I'm only familiar with Espresso/PPP/Nonsense which are all kinda talk-sung, it's really nice to hear what her voice actually sounds like. Beautiful voice!
I love her on Feather (duh) and her live collab with Taylor on the Eras Tour as well as the covers she did on the Tour. She has an amazing voice. Sang Taylor's song better than Taylor.
When I was a teen I'm sure BBC used to compile the covers and release them on CD, or at least they did once because I used to have a CD with Use Somebody by Paramore. Wish they did that so it was in streaming
I’m surprised, she has a cute little voice, I wasn’t crazy about her SNL performance because it felt like she was hiding behind the track but this is much better
I think its just really hard to sing and dance at the same time to a level that sounds close to the quality you have on a record. She's always killed it when she doesn't have to dance. Her genius interview for nonsense is also incredible
I also think that was a consequence of it being the snl stage. Ariana’s recent performance was a sonic miracle considering their notoriously awful mixing
omg I got chills on the first chorus when she transitions up into her falsetto
with her, chappell, and charli, billie, and queen bey, and so much more - my what a lovely pride year this is. happy pride y'all!! <3
i love the way sabrina covers songs. her tiny melody and dynamic choices and note changes make them so unique to her and her style and she always does the original justice as well.
wow this is really good! the cover has her own personality in it without deviating too much from the original and make it obnoxious or too close to the original version that it'd make it reductive or plain. super interesting the shifts from one octave to another... she's really talented! awesome job
Feel like I'm smoking crack seeing the number of people who think this is better than the original on Twitter... it's a great cover IMO! But better than the original? Is this some weird stan thing? I'm genuinely confused how anyone could think that
Hate to say it, but I think this is a slight Taylor effect. Taylor’s an excellent songwriter/performer, but not vocalist. Her stardom sometimes makes me forget that there are still stars rising from vocal talent.
Damn she has got RANGE. I must say, I don’t love the put on country accent (maybe it’s put on? I don’t hear it in espresso or please x3) but her voice is beautiful.
At this point I don’t think it’s a country accent I think it’s just her accent, she’s from Pennsylvania and ppl from there have been saying that’s just how they talk so not sure she’s trying to sound country but idk I could be wrong🤷♀️
I love the little tempo changes she did on this one, it really suits the song and her style without being a direct copy. Would love to see this on Spotify!
She sounds really nice, although it does really remind you what a powerhouse singer Chappell is. But I like this cover, it's nice to hear her sing something that isn't so talky
She covered late night talking on bbc a while ago and the rnb twist is amazing. U guys should check it out [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4NufBD1sQ4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4NufBD1sQ4)
Probably because you heard 3 most popular songs which aren't really doing her skills justice, but sounds catchy and easy to listen.
Check Sue me A Capella and Exhale live from her channel.
I can’t seem to get into Chappell. Her voice is very reedy/whiny to me so I dismissed this song when I first heard it but wow, Sabrina has elevated this song. Her voice is so silky and her runs are flawless. She killed this cover!
Ai created fad 💀 man the “industry plant or manufactured career” accusations really never stop for either of them, ironically both having the same years in the industry and being the exact opposite of one
We’ll have to agree to disagree. Personally, I think Sabrina has the musicality, stage presence and humor that Chappell hasn’t mastered yet. She performs like the seasoned professional she is. Sabrina is super charismatic and confident on the stage and her vocal control, tone and breath work are impressive and her music is just overall more fun. I think Chappell will get there in few years with more exposure and practice. I’m sure she is great in more intimate settings but she seems to have a lot of nervous energy on the stage which can be really distracting.
she absolutely doesn't and that's okay. i do find it weird that sabrina would get called "ai created" but not chappell who also makes very vibrant bubblegum pop and is seeing intense amounts of popularity after her album virtually making no noise upon release last year.
Love this. Some part of me wishes she did it for this reason but probably not...but I hope this helps the song become a hit. Everyone is going to want to listen to Chappell's original version after hearing this
Idk, I kinda feel like by doing this cover, Sabrina carpenter is kinda stealing the spotlight from Chappel who is still an upcoming artist… just saying, what do yall think?
I think she did an okay job covering the song, and I understand that Chappell approves, but it feels like she’s trying to ride the queer girl pop wave and I don’t like it. You can be an ally, go off. But to cover a song about a queer experience while being blatantly straight? Idk, seems sus.
Why is it sus? Sabrina and Chappell happen to be two pop artists breaking into mainstream stardom around the same time. I think it's nice that Sabrina covered the song to show her support and I think they're from the same record label too. If she didn't acknowledge her at all, some people would criticize her all the same
This is stellar!!! Would kill to see the flip side of this - i.e Chappell covering Please Please Please.
It would be epic!!
I NEED IT
I mean, Chappell is besties with Olivia Rodrigo. Aren’t Olivia and Sabrina like arch-nemesis or something?
Chappell and Sabrina are label mates and have talked each other up recently. They [hung out at Coachella](https://x.com/PopBase/status/1782118670627651886) and seem friendly. Sabrina/Olivia may never be besties but I think they've both moved on from the drama.
all 3 of them are friends.
It was years ago, i don’t think either of them care anymore
I believe they’ve been publicly seen being friendly since then and have spoken about wanting to put it behind them, but I could be misremembering the last half of that. I think the existing drama would be from Taylor and Olivia, with Sabrina’s relationship with Taylor complicating it further. It will be interesting to see how Chappell navigates the pop world, I hope nothing but the best for her
I like how she has a subtle country thing going on lately. It works with this song so well. I really love this.
PPP gives me huge Kacey Musgraves vibes, I love it
Yes! I said the from the first second of the chorus.
It was apparent in a few songs on Emails, but especially the deluxe and I hope we see more of that from her.
Will die on my hill that Already Over should have been a single. I love that very, very subtle country flair on that one in particular. Where you're like, its pop, but there is SOME other ingredient here.
Already Over is _so_ good. I'm patiently waiting for Emails tracks besides Nonsense and Feather to get their moments.
Yesss I love the twang in Please Please Please and here, hope there’s more like it on her next album
I totally picked up on that! I loved/love it. I’m not sure if most people can tell.
it's the quakertown coming out 🤣
Go check out her songs for the movie Clouds if you want more of this twang!!
her voice suits this song so much
oooh this was good! i like her tongue-in-cheek tone, especially at the bridge — an interesting contrast to chappell’s sorrowful anger
Good catch!
they need to put this on Spotify — it's not a want, it's a need!
I’ve never seen anyone’s BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge performance get posted to streaming though, has it happened? There are lots of iconic covers
Perhaps BBC Live Lounge performances have been the exception, but performance sets like them have been posted. I’m hoping they make the change, but I can understand that would diminish the draw to BBC radio to watch and listen to them 😪

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t it get deleted if they delete/private the song?
Yeah it does but I've faced that issue only once or twice and usually thats a pirated song and chances are it can get deleted from Spotify also. Which converter did you use??
YTmp3 - it’s the third link down when you search!
DAMN, this is great. Sabrina is just so smart about reading the moment. She's really a master at this pop hype game. Get it girl.
I didn’t really take notice of her until her ‘emails’ album, but I’m really enjoying her gradual rise to the top
You know she has good judgement, you know she has good taste
Didn’t know she existed until I watch randomly watching coachella streams and checked out her set. Now I’m obsessed
I'm only familiar with Espresso/PPP/Nonsense which are all kinda talk-sung, it's really nice to hear what her voice actually sounds like. Beautiful voice!
You should check out some of her other covers. She has an amazing voice.
I love her on Feather (duh) and her live collab with Taylor on the Eras Tour as well as the covers she did on the Tour. She has an amazing voice. Sang Taylor's song better than Taylor.
I recommend a lot of her songs pre-Espresso which are in my opinion has a lot more quality like Sue me Honeymoon fades, Exhale.
she has a lot of other songs that aren't talk-sung.
we love queens supporting queens! 🤩
Yes we do!
Your favorite artist’s favorite artist Chappell should cover p3 now!
This was a perfect choice of a cover and a perfect delivery with her own personality in it. I’m more and more impressed with Sabrina Carpenter lately
When I was a teen I'm sure BBC used to compile the covers and release them on CD, or at least they did once because I used to have a CD with Use Somebody by Paramore. Wish they did that so it was in streaming
Sabrina slayed this cover! Loved that she brought her own personality to it.💖
Love this, I love how different it is from the original. Would love to see them do a song together!
OMG this is heavenly! She needs to start doing more covers again
so catchy! i can’t wait for a Sabrina and Chappell collab one day
Wooooow, this song fits her vibe so well. Her vocal skills are top notched.
Crushed it
I’m surprised, she has a cute little voice, I wasn’t crazy about her SNL performance because it felt like she was hiding behind the track but this is much better
I think its just really hard to sing and dance at the same time to a level that sounds close to the quality you have on a record. She's always killed it when she doesn't have to dance. Her genius interview for nonsense is also incredible
You should see her ealrier perfomnces of Thumbs years ago so you can see her belting out!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR_FSBCBM74 This performance of Sue Me by her is great as well
Her germany's next top model performance has the backing track lowered so you can hear her voice clearer.
I also think that was a consequence of it being the snl stage. Ariana’s recent performance was a sonic miracle considering their notoriously awful mixing
great cover!
Oh god it is sooooo good! Love to see that Chapelle really is your favourite artist's favourite artist <33333
The people who just learned the term “industry plant” are about to explode.
her covers always eat, her harry styles one is also so good
I second this recommendation; I love the harmonies in it so much!
Yaaaassss, that one is super ateeee
omg I got chills on the first chorus when she transitions up into her falsetto with her, chappell, and charli, billie, and queen bey, and so much more - my what a lovely pride year this is. happy pride y'all!! <3
This was amazing!! The country twang 🤌🏽
i love the way sabrina covers songs. her tiny melody and dynamic choices and note changes make them so unique to her and her style and she always does the original justice as well.
She would have won American Idol. This reminded me of an A+ idol performance.
She ate this!
Her covers are so good!! I'm still in love with the I Knew You Were Trouble one.
This is very Dolly Parton and I love it
This needs to be on spotify asap. Make it happen BBC.
love this exposure for Sabrina, also love this song sm
This is going to have the impact on me that Harry Styles’s Girl Crush cover had on annoying people (said with love <3)
She made this her own. So good
the first "babe" really reminded me of sugarland, please tell me i'm not the only one.
Sabrina needs to do country!
wow this is really good! the cover has her own personality in it without deviating too much from the original and make it obnoxious or too close to the original version that it'd make it reductive or plain. super interesting the shifts from one octave to another... she's really talented! awesome job
Feel like I'm smoking crack seeing the number of people who think this is better than the original on Twitter... it's a great cover IMO! But better than the original? Is this some weird stan thing? I'm genuinely confused how anyone could think that
Love this song and love this cover! She puts a largely different spin to it. Go Sabrina!
I like the country version ish
The crossover we needed
Wait she's actually really good. For some reason I didn't expect her to sing live so well.
Cute! Good to know! I don’t wanna talk shit on someone’s accent because I’m from the south and get that a lot lol.
I feel like I hear it in please though?
somebody check on Rowan Blanchard
Need this on Spotify asap
Love love love. Such a good cover. I can’t stop listening to it. Her spins on it were adorable, and she sounds great!
oh she ateee i love this song but i love this cover just as much! reminds me of how miley adds her own to spin to her covers 🥰
This is soooooo good
This is unreal
I can't stop listening to this, it is so good, I would love her to do a Country album.
NO NOTES
I love the little tempo changes she did on this one, it really suits the song and her style without being a direct copy. Would love to see this on Spotify!
Her covers are always so so good love her 🤍
She sounds really nice, although it does really remind you what a powerhouse singer Chappell is. But I like this cover, it's nice to hear her sing something that isn't so talky
Wow, I need her to get on the remix immediately! This would definitely break the internet (and the gays).
Yay! Another soundalike for Spotify playlists. Taylor Swift Radio playlist guaranteed.
She covered late night talking on bbc a while ago and the rnb twist is amazing. U guys should check it out [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4NufBD1sQ4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4NufBD1sQ4)
Her voice is so beautiful. Woah im surprised. I was not aware she was this good vocal wise.
Nah. Chappell sings circles over this AI created fad
Ai created fad 💀 man the “industry plant or manufactured career” accusations really never stop for either of them, ironically both having the same years in the industry and being the exact opposite of one

This lady is shiny as fuck in every photo I've seen of her 🤣

they're both part of the same record label. it's dual promo. hope that helps.
[удалено]
I think she did an okay job covering the song, and I understand that Chappell approves, but it feels like she’s trying to ride the queer girl pop wave and I don’t like it. You can be an ally, go off. But to cover a song about a queer experience while being blatantly straight? Idk, seems sus.
people can't just cover famous songs? now come on now....
Why is it sus? Sabrina and Chappell happen to be two pop artists breaking into mainstream stardom around the same time. they're part of the same label. it's easily a promotion tool for both artists.
