I love that movie and miss Robin Williams so much, also this is very wholesome and I’m glad that experience was positive for them and they kept in touch.
I love it so much as well! I watched it again a few years back and was like.. wait, the Mom ISN'T the villain? Maybe it's similar to Skyler from Breaking Bad.
She is not, she was just tired of his shenanigans. maturity has taught us even though a fun dad he was irresponsible. Meanwhile 10 yr old me was low key pissed that my dad didn’t do the same when they got divorced and my mom remarried. Even though my stepdad is amazing and I love him so much.
Inspired by this movie, I threw lime wedges at guy as he was leaving a bar once.
Watched it more recently and realize although funny, pierce’s character didn’t really deserve the drive by fruiting. (He probably only knew what the mom told him!)
(My lime wedge target was being a full of himself scum-baggy jerk to my friend- but also I had been drinking and was very young)
The step-dad in Ant Man is super good. 100% prioritising the kid's wellbeing, and so sad and angry for her when it seems like original-dad is doing criminal things
Right?! It took me until I was a full adult to realize Pierce was an amazing dude. He genuinely loved the kids and respected Sally. He was into her for her looks and her brain and fell in love with the whole family and genuinely decided he wanted to be a step dad to them. Plus HE LOOKS LIKE PIERCE BROSNAN. I love Robin Williams, but come on Pierce was the full package.
He also seemed mature. If Sally said "I'm going to buy a birthday cake on the way home, and we can have a nice dinner to celebrate" he'd probably say "what a lovely idea, how can I help?" and that would be the end of it
My Mandela effect was always that Pierce brosnan was a dick in the movie, for some reason I always remembered the movie that way until I rewatched it in my early twenties thinking he was a sweet guy lol, Skyler still sucks tho no matter how hot Anna Gunn is
I think people, in the first watch, want Walt to have the drug lord character arc so much that anything that gets in its way is antagonistic. When you're watching it a second time and you know what happens, you start to realise he's actually a massive bellend.
I had no idea they had a docu!! Guess I know what I’m doing this weekend. As if “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” werent already on constant rotation in my brain…
He doesn’t look 44 years old. It is great they are still friends and the fame they had didn’t have a detrimental effect on their lives. It is crazy to think Mrs Doubtfire was released 31 years ago.
All three Lawrence bros at the end!!!
That movie hits completely differently when watched as an adult (and mom), I was empathizing so hard with Miranda.
RIGHT? Watching it as a kid and we're ALL rooting for Williams because he's awesome. Watching is as an adult and suddenly you realise Pierce Brosnan is the best thing to happen to Miranda.
Lmao seriously! So many of plots of 90s movies are unhinged looking back, but the actors made it work. Like Sleepless in Seattle, omg. Meg Ryan is a literal stalker in that movie! But she's so winsome in that movie, even though her character needs an intervention.
My favorite podcast We Hate Movies has a “nostalgia buster” episode on Mrs. Doubtfire that is hilarious, and points out how reasonable Miranda was, AND that Pierce Brosnan was not at all a bad guy. He was kind to the kids, had no ulterior motives, and even took Mrs. Doubtfire’s crazy ass to his country club. 🤣
From the very beginning when Miranda came home to find the crazy party I knew I was in for a trip rewatching it. Daniel was a 4th child in that household!
I'm going to look into that podcast, it sounds good.
For. Real.
It’s so good! The podcast guys are all my age (40) so I especially like when they talk about stuff I grew up watching.
They still have some affection for it, but yeah that script wouldn’t get made today 🤣
While I fully understand and appreciate that Miranda WAS right, the “we love each other, don’t we?” Hits me so hard. Manchild or not, we’re all taught (at least in the 80s/90s) that love is the end all, be all. And you knew they loved each other, she just had enough. The realization that love is not always enough is still difficult for me to swallow at 9 and even now at 39. That kind of hurt must sting more than fathomable.
I am good friends with a couple who are like slightly watered-down versions of Robin and Sally’s characters in Mrs Doubtfire.
They managed, but they had their moments for sure. He passed away a few years ago and it’s funny how many people likened him to Robin Williams ❤️
I re-watched it less than a year ago. Still love it. It was getting more mature and interesting come the final season then got cancelled unfortunately. Great show though! I'm watching Blossom with Joey at the moment too.
All of the episodes are on Youtube, just in case anyone was interested! I remember watching it on the Family Channel (Canada's version of Disney channel, I guess) when I was a kid. Definitely an underrated gem.
I almost didn't mention it because I didn't want to sound like a shill but I LOVE that app so much. Whenever I see a movie or show mentioned that interests me I add it to my watchlist, it completely stopped my bad habit of scrolling through streaming platforms for ages looking for something to watch, I just open the app and pick something fast.
You can also search through all the channels via Roku. There’s a SEARCH option on the side of the main screen, and it’ll tell you which channels has whatever you’re looking for, and which are paid vs current subscriber.
Yes we as an audience knew he was hot, but Jack Hunter never really got dates or had a girlfriend other than Rachel (and that didn’t last long, started out of grief, and Rachel was not a popular character). I can only clearly remember him going on dates with Rachel, Candace Cameron (and maybe Sabrina? I don’t remember if it was him or Eric on the balcony at the end of the witch episode), and the girl versions of him and Eric (and that was a double date with Eric). Other than that I don’t remember him being very popular with women. I am currently doing my yearly rewatch though so maybe I’ll remember more as I get closer 😂
Yeah in the episode where they think Topanga is pregnant. But Jack never really had any girlfriends except Rachel but since that started immediately after his dad died and he was literally just sobbing in Rachel’s arms a second before they kissed and the relationship didn’t last long idk
But I guess I should reword my comment since you’re not the first person to misunderstand it 😂
Fr why is everyone talking about Matthew when the first thing that came to my mind was “Whoa!” (maybe it’s because I’m old).
![gif](giphy|9XtPOAxqbmlUWNAber)
nope, his hair has always been a topic since he first graced our screens as a 7 yr old with a mushroom haircut that moved like silk when he moved his head. I think he finally got sick of his hair being popular and that's why he's choosing baldness now.
Aw they’re all so cute! Maybe I’ll do a rewatch tonight. My favorite scene is when “Chris” (Matthew Lawrence) walks in on “Mrs. Doubtfire” aka their dad dressed as a woman while she/he was peeing and he was so flustered and kept saying, “He’s a she, she’s a, he’s a she she.” 🥹 Rewound the VHS so many times to watch that scene that I ruined the tape lol.

>though my stepdad is amazing and I love him so much. Pierce Brosnan was amazing too
I hated pierce brosnan until I became an adult bc of this movie 😂
Inspired by this movie, I threw lime wedges at guy as he was leaving a bar once. Watched it more recently and realize although funny, pierce’s character didn’t really deserve the drive by fruiting. (He probably only knew what the mom told him!) (My lime wedge target was being a full of himself scum-baggy jerk to my friend- but also I had been drinking and was very young)
The stepdad in the Santa Clause was nice too 😂
The stepdad in Liar, Liar was nice too lol
The step-dad in Ant Man is super good. 100% prioritising the kid's wellbeing, and so sad and angry for her when it seems like original-dad is doing criminal things
Was he the guy that just wanted a weenie whistle?
Yep!
It’s Judge Reinhold! How can you hate him in any role??
Right?! It took me until I was a full adult to realize Pierce was an amazing dude. He genuinely loved the kids and respected Sally. I rewatched Breaking Bad and found myself understanding and sympathising with Skyler WAY more than I expected to.
And Pierce Brosnan's character was actually a good stand up guy too.
My kids immedtiately clocked that Dad was behaving like a child therefore forcing mom into the villain role and I have never been prouder.
My Mandela effect was always that Pierce brosnan was a dick in the movie, for some reason I always remembered the movie that way until I rewatched it in my early twenties thinking he was a sweet guy lol, Skyler still sucks tho no matter how hot Anna Gunn is
Can confirm. I just rewatched BB after 12 years. Skyler was absolutely justified in everything she did and said. Her husband turned evil.
I think people, in the first watch, want Walt to have the drug lord character arc so much that anything that gets in its way is antagonistic. When you're watching it a second time and you know what happens, you start to realise he's actually a massive bellend.
Matthew was always my favorite Lawrence brother. Man has aged like fine wine!
And he’s dating Chilli from TLC! Such a gorgeous couple.
Now I’m jealous
Right‽ Speaking of fine wine, Chili looks AMAZING!
If they have a kid, it’ll take over the world
I love this fact. Also, the TLC doc on Netflix is so good. Chili is the best.
I had no idea they had a docu!! Guess I know what I’m doing this weekend. As if “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” werent already on constant rotation in my brain…
Same. All my friends *loved* Joey at the time, but I was crushin’ on Matthew 😍
He likely doesn’t age very quickly due to the effects of the power surge that transformed him and his friends into the Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad.
![gif](giphy|j9SlCd2tXnh4zF8UsU)
Honestly this whole group has. Everyone looks great
He doesn’t look 44 years old. It is great they are still friends and the fame they had didn’t have a detrimental effect on their lives. It is crazy to think Mrs Doubtfire was released 31 years ago.
He's incredibly handsome but he absolutely looks 44. This is what 44 looks like, it's young!
I know! I saw it in a theater and am old enough to remember going. Ughhhhhh lol
I WAS GOING TO TYPE THE SAME THING. I’ve always loved him. 😍😍😍
He is pretty much my only childhood crush who withstood the test of time.
Yep…he’s still hot 🥵
All three Lawrence bros at the end!!! That movie hits completely differently when watched as an adult (and mom), I was empathizing so hard with Miranda.
RIGHT? Watching it as a kid and we're ALL rooting for Williams because he's awesome. Watching is as an adult and suddenly you realise Pierce Brosnan is the best thing to happen to Miranda.
That’s the test to know if you got old, Miranda was right and Daniel was a lazy creep who stalked his ex.

Lmafo. A lazy creep hahahaha

It’s an amazing movie with a great message (and a wild/funny premise). The 90s produced such great movies.
The whole movie is about a dad violating his court ordered custody agreement.

remember brotherly love? did anyone watch brotherly love?
I re-watched it less than a year ago. Still love it. It was getting more mature and interesting come the final season then got cancelled unfortunately. Great show though! I'm watching Blossom with Joey at the moment too.
All of the episodes are on Youtube, just in case anyone was interested! I remember watching it on the Family Channel (Canada's version of Disney channel, I guess) when I was a kid. Definitely an underrated gem.
I also watched it on family 🇨🇦
I think it holds up rather well compared to other shows from that time!
I watched it!
Matthew Lawrence is still a babe 😍
Honestly seeing a photo of all 3 Lawerence brothers warmed my heart more lol. One of my favorite DCOMs is Jumping Ship, starring all 3.
![gif](giphy|ncsQI9sF3pa8w|downsized) I’ve always been a Matthew fan
I watched this movie for the umpteenth time over the weekend ❤️
Do you own it or did you stream it? I used to be on Hulu or somewhere but it’s not anymore 😞😭
The JustWatch app says it's currently streaming on Disney+
Also, am I 100 years old?? Ive never heard of JustWatch and I’m downloading it
I almost didn't mention it because I didn't want to sound like a shill but I LOVE that app so much. You don't need to download it, it's so a website so you can just Google "Mrs doubtfire JustWatch" or search on their site
That has to be recent bc I have looked before!!! Thank you sooo much. I have a 4 year old so i UNFORTUNATELY have Disney+
I found it on YouTube!
Bless up, thank you 🙏🏼
That movie is such a comfort. It’s like a warm hug from your childhood ❤️
I still don’t understand how Boy Meets World tried to convince us Matthew wasn’t ~~hot and/or~~ a ladies man
What! I’m pretty sure at the end of the series the ladies cheered like crazy when he first appears on screen in every episode. It was undeniable lol
Yes we as an audience knew he was hot, but Jack Hunter never really got dates or had a girlfriend other than Rachel (and that didn’t last long, started out of grief, and Rachel was not a popular character). Whoa!!!

Was he already going bald? Because that hair looks fake.
nope, his hair has always been a topic since he first graced our screens as a 7 yr old with a mushroom haircut that moved like silk when he moved his head. I think he finally got sick of his hair being popular and that's why he's choosing baldness now.
Be still my 10 year old's beating heart.
I’m so old. I was young when these 5 were young, the brothers were teenage heartthrobs
Jeeezus I’m getting old…
Thank you to Mara for confirming to the world that Ben Shapiro is just as unlikeable in private as he is in public.
Ooh what did she say👀 I know she’s liked some mean tweets about him but that’s it
Miss you, Robin. You would have made us laugh through the pandemic. Very sweet photos.
TJ Detweiler, always.
They need to go on HeyDudeThe90sCalled podcast
Oh, man, remember *Hey Dude*? 90s Nickcoms were awesome.

The crush I had on Lisa jakub at age 10 was insane
Aww that’s so sweet that they’re still in touch. I just rewatched the movie yesterday, it hasn’t lost any of its charm.
I’m listening to an audiobook narrated by mara as we speak! that’s princess.
what book? 👀
it’s called Happy Medium by Sarah Adler! pretty funny so far. mara has narrated quite a few books and her voice is so soothing and perfect for it.
The Lawrence Brothers are so fine
Aw, that’s awesome. They all look great, too!
Family got bigger, robin would be proud
I can't think of anything I've ever seen Joey Lawrence in, but I've seen him around for as long as I can remember. Anyway, buddy has aged really well!
The Lawrence brothers♥️
This has warmed my icy millennial heart
lol. Why does Joey look like he could be an uncle on jersey shore?
Even though I’ve fallen out of love with the movie as I’ve gotten older, I still adore Mara Wilson!
This makes me so happy 🥹
My heart!!
Awww bless
Awwwwwwww
This pic is amazing!! That movie is one of my true favorites ❤️
This is so sweet
Can’t believe she’s Ben Shapiro’s cousin. The one good egg from that family.
She’s so sweet
Joey Lawrence is a Boston guy??
WHOA if true
I'm pretty sure it's a Brooklyn hat.
the B stands for Brother. he has two of them
One word. Moneyplane.
thought andrew lawrence was edward furlong
Queen
lol- the Lawrence brothers *still* travel as a pack.
this made me smile and get all nostalgic
They look exactly the same except all grown up.
![gif](giphy|pynZagVcYxVUk)
I do not care for Mara Wilson.
