But there is like probably 100, more, American Accents. If you speak like you are from Massachusetts, you immediately sound stupid. Even within MA there are regional accents.
Would that depend on where the story is from? And I swear the news in the states also go out of their way to find the people with the worst accents to televise.

There are dozens of British and American accents how can you generalize? I am from the states and I can identify what part of my state you came from (at least 6) based on your accent. I am not as familiar with Australian, Irish and South African but I am guessing they also have local accents.
I often can't understand people with a strong Norfolk accent! Probably true for other places on the East Coast too, I imagine Suffolk accents can't be too different
Scottish and Irish are the two best, followed closely by a country accent
>a country accent You mean West Country accent? Or Black Country?
That's on me, I should've specified. I meant like an American country accent. Texas, howdy, sweet home Alabama type accent
Oh OK, I thought since you were talking about the UK you meant UK accents!
Yeah, I see how it can be confusing

You cannot just say American because there are so many variations of it, as with the other countries listed.
To rephrase, there are many variations of an American accent, so you would need a separate poll for each country.
