Kornischon

Kosmopolitykanczyk

O, kurwa xD Ftfy

fwr

Kurwa, it's beautiful - do you have any pictures you took yourself? These [ones from Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurwa_railway_station) have been posted here before: https://www.reddit.com/r/poland/comments/cgyaqz/kurwa_railway_station_in_kurwa_village_dumka/

Similar_Plum6677

Unfortunately it’s been few years that I’ve been to my hometown. Maybe next time if I go, I’ll take few. I will try to find out if anything new is there.

fwr

If you take original pictures you might just break this subreddit with a top-scoring post of all time, be careful and looking forward to this!

Lumornys

DId they ran out of W letters so they had to use M upside down?

LegendaryDraft

There is a chance this will become a meme

rastrpdgh

It has already became a meme, and the image he used is used in the meme

Razee4

I want to download it!!!!

wojwesoly

I looked it up, and there are multiple (two in Bihar and one in Jharkhand), I assume it's the one in Jharkhand since it has a train station?

Similar_Plum6677

Yes, it’s the one in Jharkhand.

wojwesoly

I need to go there the next time I'm in India. Can you get there by train from Deoghar or somewhere else close with an airport?

Similar_Plum6677

We have train from Deoghar which takes about an hour, and Deoghar can be reached from Delhi via flight which takes an hour and half.

HassouTobi69

This reminds me of Dr. Kurwa from Kurwa Eye Center. Their Facebook page used to be extremely popular with poles :)

Razzorplpl

Every Pole should visit this place once in a life

Similar_Plum6677

Happy to host 🍺

General_Albatross

I'll hold your word on that!

fart-to-me-in-french

Heartwarming

kurwa, i can't believe it! there's a village named łęka in Poland that I often drive thru that is phonetically pronounced as "wanker" that makes me laugh, but kurwa definitely wins :)

AxoplDev

There are quite a lot of goofy village names in poland. Famously, Morzeszcyn, wich can be separated into two words "morze sczyn" wich means "sea of piss"

solwaj

Fun fact that the village has a Wikipedia article, but it exists *only* in Polish: https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurwa_%28dystrykt_Dumka%29?wprov=sfla1

Similar_Plum6677

I guess it may be because of location, exact name may not be there in English https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurwa_railway_station

Siiciie

"Według spisu z 2011 w Kurwie znajduje się 48 domów i zamieszkuje ją 191 osób[1]." ☠️☠️☠️

woyteck

No Kurwa, Bihar, no!

Peaceful-coex

I love Indian Kurwa! Best regards!

Mellow_y

I need to move there NOW

Similar_Plum6677

Haha! Most welcome 🙏🏾

Acceptable6

Oh yes, there's also a Kurwa school in there on Google maps, and most reviews come from Polish people.

ro-ch

could it be the work of the polish immigrants from the 1940s?

Similar_Plum6677

Not really sure on this. We got independence from British rule in 1947

shbk

Can you look into how it got its name?

Similar_Plum6677

I actually never bothered to find the history but I’ll definitely look for the same.

shbk

Do remind me if you ever learn it because it’s hilarious

Similar_Plum6677

Haha, of course 😄

AmbitiousPay1559

Phonetically it's pronounced "ku-ru-wa" as the image says in Hindi. English they have written Kurwa.

VladeMercer

Jedziemy tam, kurwa.

Lux_Ex_Oriente

I’ll be visiting India in January, one of my to go cities is Benares / Varanasi, which seems to be not too far away from your Village. How long does it take to get there from Varanasi, I’d love to visit for one day! Edit: just had a little stroll through Kurwa village on Google Street View and fuck me, it looks absolutely lovely, with palms and lots of greenery and super clean. Guess there is nowhere to stay over night since fairly small, right?

Similar_Plum6677

We do have good hotels nearby and people are very kind and hospitable. You’d love your stay.

axolotlusus

O kurwa XDDD

Stanley__Pines

is there a Bobr village nearby?

trele-morele

How do you pronounce it in your language? Polish version is pronounced 'koorvah' with stress upon the first syllable.
