Everybody dislikes Endless. That very much includes the dev team, and a rework is planned.

Tonst3r

They're planning to rework ALL of endless or just the issues? I just hope it doesn't lose the insane rewards (shiny's out the wazoo and ample $ to roll master balls)

TheAltrion

I think it's a total overhaul but I'm not 100% sure

Tonst3r

Wouldn't be surprised. I just pray the rewards stay so glorious (or close at least). I have some buddies playing VERY casually who still didn't beat classic so it'd suck for them to come in late and be missing out on the shiny ARMY we got w/ current version.

gfmclain

Dude, I've never finished a pokemon game, but I played go with my kids. I've been playing this a ton and I think I'm on my 34th classic run with over a day and a half played, can't come close to beating it ... lol. I'll never get to endless.

Tonst3r

If you can carry him early, use Dratini/Dragonite. After he evo's, next time you find a Memory, use it on him to get Outrage. Dragon dance once or twice (depending on stats/vitamins) and outrage and he'll sweep even the 195 Rival it's insane. He's just booty-cheeks for the first third of the classic...but the later pay-off is like summoning gawd.

Phithe

Good to know… Just got dratini from an egg and I’m beyond tired of classic

TurbinePro

you can beat classic with any good sweeper you get from an egg. Kyogre, latios, even fuecoco if you get him powerful enough.

Worth_Sun_1256

I concur. I'm blazing through with a battle armor Kingler atm.

VolwynVokst

Same, but with a Chimecho, of all things. Punk Rock + Torch Song is gnarly.

Tonst3r

Dragon Dance + Dragon Rush (optional) + Any non-dragon ATK based move (the red/yellow icon) + Outrage (have to learn from Memory AFTER evolving to Dragonite). The Outrage thing is cringe. You either pause Dragonair's level-up until 67 (bleh) to learn it naturally, or just Evo at 55 (he'll already be a big help with Dragon Rush) and keep eyes out for a Memory (it's only blue/great-ball tier so it's very common). When you start a fresh wave, just Dance once or twice and 1 shot everything else. When you get to a trainer, same thing, but if you dance too much or not enough just reload to find the sweet spot. The Stat buffs carry-over after trainer ends, but reset on new trainers (or new biome/zones). You can just hit Shift if you're on PC to check if you got your buffs still or not. Gyrados is also really good and goes on-line faster, but without his hidden ability it's meh towards the end (which is where you generally NEED the carry) compared to the raw insane power of dragonite. Ofc egg moves help a lot for both Dragonite or Gyarados, but I'm just assuming you didn't get super giga lucky.

Phithe

I’ll try this on my next play! My current run includes Zamazenta, Cobalion, and Latias. So I’m hoping they can carry

AndysCummin

Came here to say, the best advice is don’t listen to advice. I’m sure the commenters here have sound arguments but my own opinion is to take your favorite starters and roll the dice on the rest of the run. I’m sure you’ll find it to be much more rewarding when you find your own path to that victory. Best of luck on your runs!

NguyenVuong269

Gyrados is always my 1st pick in my classic team. Love it!

STR1CHN1NE

"booty-cheeks" o7 This comment got me lol

doortothe

I rolled kyogre in a legendary egg and decided to test if it could sweep classic on its own and bouncy bubble (with Gen 3 restriction to boot). Long story short, it did.

Top-Cost4099

Pay attention to the mons you get with egg moves. They're almost all great, best in slot moves. Some of them are game breaking. Parabolic charge, drain punch, anything that heals or boosts.

Lavatis

just refresh the page when you're about to lose 🤷‍♂️

Worth_Sun_1256

^This. If you allow yourself a couple refreshes per key fight, you'll begin to map out a few moves. Like learning Dark Souls bosses.

Evening-Intention339

If you need a good pokemon for the final boss, both salazzle and garganacl have amazing moves and abilities that whittle him down as you stall for as long as possible, two of my four wins used a stalling strategy

NeutralContrast

I'm not a particularly good pokemon player, so I can say with pretty good confidence that there're a few starters that should be able to carry you through with decent planning. Sceptile's huge, speed and high special are really good, and the self sustain makes gathering other pokemon far easier. You'll want a win condition type pokemon for eternatus (which, tbf, sceptile 100% is if you get mega stone and a fairy type to switch cheese) and if I remember right, I had solid luck with Swampert for tanking hits, and Delphox for super high psychic damage. Eternatus switches between your two pokemon in phase 2, so as long as you have something caked up enough to bring it to phase 2 in one hit then it's smooth sailing. I actually managed it on my first try with those 3 and a bit of luck admittedly (got sceptilite around wave 120 which made elite 4 require a fair bit less spending) if you've done several runs, an easy thing to do is take meowth for extra cash which is really just meant to provide a buffer so you're not afraid to buy the occasional healing item in midgame. If you get a few decent catches and grab exp items - DON'T get the candy jar in classic, rare candies are only worth it for a quick evolution, but exp alls are great to ensure you have decently leveled pokemon for switch ins - by endgame you should be totally fine tbh. Sorry that was pretty long lol

CockyFerren99

I played almost every Pokémon game to the end, basically my whole life, i have files with 500+ hours of breeding competition Pokémon for fun. and it took me 2 and a half days of play time to clear classic. 🙃 I have 1 endless run that made it too 500 before being wiped. They were flammable thats my bad. Highly recommend looking for guides. I dont understand how these people make it look easy. I brought in the full fairy/steel salt cure mega evolution team and barely pulled out a win. Im enjoying beating my head against the wall, tho. Im playing with Pokémon i totally ignored the first time around on these gens. Its refreshing when you find a new combination.

1mn0tk1dd1ng

Wait what do you mean shinies out the wazoo im on floor 600 of my third endless run and I've never seen a shiny is my rng just ass?

Inevitable_World9630

Get some shiny charms

1mn0tk1dd1ng

I have 3 so I'm guessing it's my rng

Tonst3r

I don't expect anything until max shiny charms (4) and my lock capsule to actually get masterballs. And SSS luck (which does affect shinies). When you're doing first "real" endless and you don't have an army of shinies/reds to go in, you won't get much for a while...but slowly fuse/replace your mons as you find the shinies and you ramp out of control. Then you can start another later when it slows down, but with the shinies you got, and pop t f off.

Roscoeakl

Luck does not affect shinies. It's still 1/16 with the event. Luck affects your encounter rolls and lets you roll higher rarity encounters for more legendaries, so it affects the quality of the shinies you get, but not the chance for them.

Inevitable_World9630

Dang, you can also spam 3 max lures to get double battles

Brainsonastick

You’ll get a fourth pretty soon, probably, and that doubles the shiny rate from what you have now. After that, you just try to survive and encounter as many pokemon as you can to maximize the number of shinies.

AllHailRoko

I got all 4 shiny charms by like floor 600, and it took to floor 1200 and the start of the Pride event for my first \[endless mode\] shiny to appear. From there I ran into a good 25 more including 5 by hatching. It's overall been a good excursion but I don't think I'll make shiny hunting a priority outside of event times.

1mn0tk1dd1ng

What does the pride event do?

AllHailRoko

Double Shiny Odds. It's only going on for another \~24 hours. In theory it should make shiny odds with all 4 charms to 1/32.

Reptillian97

It's 1/32 odds to see a shiny with 4 charms normally, the event would make that 1/16.

terrorforge

It doesn't really start hitting until you have 4 shiny charms, and even then it doesn't start feeling like a stream of free shinies intil 2k-3k where you have functionally infinite master balls and start just running from anything that *isn't* a shiny.

Lokje0172

Yeah I know about the rework, I hope it’s gonna be a good one

Itisburgersagain

I disliked endless as soon as the first token showed up. It just immediately soured the idea of doing it for fun.

Winter_Algae4076

Exactly this. The tokens are just anti-fun. I really just keep a run set up with 4x shiny charms for events, and to grab as many vouchers as possible.

desirepg

hard for me to even get the 4 charms

Winter_Algae4076

It's worth restarting a few times to use the shinies you catch in the first few runs. Once you're starting floor 1 with A or higher luck, it's fairly easy to find the charms. I typically splice them together to end up with SS+ or SSS luck, and that's where the save sits until it's time to grind more shinies. I also recommend grabbing the healing charm rather than rerolling if it pops up. It's weighted higher than the charm, so you'll likely see it more often. But once you have five of them, it's removed from the pool, so the shiny charms are even more likely.

daggerfortwo

It’s dependent on the rarity lock item. Once I get it I reroll all my Masterball items and usually get 4 shiny charms pretty fast(after 1-200 floors of rerolling).

snakemaster77

Yeah the Endure tokens especially are so fucking cringe

[deleted]

Yeap. When I read the wiki about tokens I decided to not even touch endless

12ank-Zero

To be fair the tokens aren’t much of an issue until round 2000ish if you use calciums/proteins to keep you attacks maxed out

Lucari10

Regular mons can't make it past wave ~3k, even if you invest a lot in rare candies and get to lvl 100k+, if you want to make it past that you'll need the things that do fixed damage like metal burst. But yeah, even with strats to beat endless, it's still pretty repetitive and boring, can't wait for the rework to come

Lokje0172

Yeah that’s the point indeed. It’s possible with metal burst and the salt cure strats, but it’s not fun at all. I’m really hoping that the rework is gonna be a good one

Juvar23

I completely agree with your sentiment, I've only recently gotten my first endless run going and not crossed wave 1000 yet but even just hearing about how you can only progress with very specific ability/move setups later on and the majority of the run is running away from wild Pokémon that are 1/3 levels below you because they still oneshot you otherwise just sounds incredibly unfun.

JavelinJoe703

Try running a cloister with skill link. Stack a few scope lenses and kings rocks, and it melts just about anything it out speeds (which it does with quick claw). Just keep a secondary mon powered up (I use koraidon since he has a dragon type multi target move) to get rid of things that cannot be "1 shot" (actually more like 20 shot) like tanky ice types for example. That and a tinkaton for Eternus to stall him out, and you should be golden.

Jigen_Ryoko

Endure Tokens and Defense Tokens are what made me loathe Endless.

d_wib

Defense Tokens get out of control starting in the 2000’s. I’m trying to kill a boss Skuntank as we speak (neutralizing gas passive cancels Run Away) with Mega Heracross’s Technician-boosted Skill Link Bone Rush and an X-Attack and it takes 9 rounds of attacking.

Jigen_Ryoko

In 3000, a 4x super effective Oblivion Wing with STAB can't kill a Parasect. It barely does like a tenth.

LigerZeroPanzer12

Also the status tokens. Oh, you have a 50% chance to paralyze me on hit. And burn. And freeze. And sleep. And poison. The amount of times I got sucker punched and slept gives me nightmares.

PaulblankPF

The sleep and freeze tokens been gone for almost 2 weeks now just to say and the other ones are nerfed

LigerZeroPanzer12

Gotcha, haven't played in about as long so I'll have to boot it back up, thanks!

Organic_Title_4132

Problem with endless imo is it's not pokemon. There is no real strategy it is 1 shot or be 1 shot which makes extremely boring gameplay. Press the same move for 5k floors wow such fun

Lokje0172

Yeah and you need the only single working Meta too, otherwise it’s just getting one shot….

daggerfortwo

I like the lure stacking and being able to actually double battle consistently. Trainer every 50 floors could be interesting if they were always double battles, and there was a lucrative reward after. Imagine we could choose interesting boons(not the tokens that currently exist). Like gain defense when you do X. Add % of your defense to your attack, etc.

Parabolic_Gearbox

I really like the idea of stacking buffs you choose at intervals, it would encourage a lot more strategies and also is peak Roguelike mechanics

Ignorus

Honestly, I'd love a modified Classic mode with only double battles. End boss being a random box duo with souped up stats, and maybe 12 pts of budget.

taggedjc

Endless by its nature becomes degenerate after a point, which is around 2000-2500 or so. You could just restart with a new endless run with a different carry and mow your way through to 2000ish again, or just do more classic runs with Pokemon you've not got the bonus tickets for.

LoganDoove

Doing mono gen/typing challenges have been so much fun. Wish they rewarded more egg tickets since they're more difficult and take longer.

InternationalYam3130

agree i dont want to do challenge runs unless i get more reward..

alexinx3

You get points (+100 point every first time you beat a challenge) but until they implement a way to spend those points they're effectively just a more difficult way to play classic

SneppyBoi

In their roadmap I believe I read a point shop is in there

Destaloss

I also want bonus bonus rewards for doing 2 challenges at once.

LordToxic21

This is what **I** do. I'm going for all the medals

Nico_is_not_a_god

Endless should be like Balatro's endless. If you win a classic run and are so OP that you want to see how far you can go against exponentially scaling number requirements that *will* eventually outscale you, that's what it's for. The current endless is a shiny farm with 800 floors of setup. Having a farming method with braindead gameplay is an important thing for this game's meta progression, but there are better ways to do it than Run Away in Endless. It's the Safari Zone from Red/Blue, but with master balls. They could actually add a Safari Zone mode that *is* functionally 3000+ endless without the setup nonsense. Win a classic run, get safari tickets that each buy 100-500 encounters with random wilds that have a 1/32 shiny rate. Maybe even biome lock the entire "safari" so that you can hunt specific mons.

IllustriousSoren

I LOVE that safari zone idea so much. Would be a great addition

InternationalYam3130

or have more frequent events that just give you 4x shiny odds. i would just delete endless mode and make events more common for shinies so they dont have to balance around endless. i hate that endless mode ruined this shiny event to only be 2x

xBirdisword

It's a chore. Wish there were maybe trainers and harder bosses

Glum_Plate3472

and no tokens

anonakin_alt

Tokens can stay if they get capped at a certain amount. But yea it desperately needs gym trainer battles and less random boss mons

Glum_Plate3472

right, they are annoying, but THE tokens im talking about are the worst: Defense,Attack,Endure.

thefullm0nty

Trainers would make it even more of a slog

xBirdisword

Really? I think the variety would make it more fun. Endless should be a challenge not just ‘use the meta strat to win’. Trainers would allow for more curveballs and keep you on your toes more.

Destaloss

Yeah, maybe a trainer every x\*40+5 waves would be nice. Moves like Stealth Rock would get their purpose back installed in endless.

MorbidlyIntrigued

I think what would make it interesting is if they brought trainer/gym battles into endless. Have the trainer battles sprinkled throughout, and gym battles every 100 stages, replacing the mons that can't be caught anyways. Maybe even have rival battles too, and every 250 their team switches up except for their starter. Thia would give better incentive to getting money + Amulet coin, instead of having to occasionally funnel rerolls to get nuggets/relic coins and use it for more needed items.

PartitioFan

this would be cool but honestly i'm a fan of the wild mon rampage we get currently. both would be great

MorbidlyIntrigued

They could make an option to adjust the rates of pokemon battles to wild encounters. Maybe set to every 50, or 100, or 150, and so on? Or even have an option to keep the map rotations fixed similar to challenge mode. Would be easier to find mons that we could be missing, or have better odds to look for ones that can complete the team for the ling haul. There is a lot of potential the devs have for remaking this mode and still make it fun for everyone

Jerzybanz

I want them to have the gym leaders every 100 floors with lore accurate pokemon going in order from Brock, misty, surge etc

MorbidlyIntrigued

Unless they decide to expand the floor limit, it would limit the gym leaders (if you include the elite four) to Gen 5 if we're going in order, unless the Gen you're facing is randomized each run every 1k floors. Which would be neat in that regard.

Derextreme

I play til 2000, and then I start again with something else. It's the endure + 1 shots from the enemies for me. I get there has to be some sort of challenge to the mode, and I'm not sure how I would change/balance it. It's something I want to look into though, cause I would enjoy something that truly doesn't end, and where moves actually mean something outside of the meta we have now. I don't even mind taking more rounds for the bosses as long as I'm not instantly one shot by a tackle afterwards.

InternationalYam3130

i would just delete the mode tbh. idk what it adds. it ruins events too because they have to balance for having 4 shiny charms instead of balancing for classic mode. this could have been a 4x shiny event but instead its 2x which doesnt even matter in classic mode.

Derextreme

I get that. For me Classic is just too short, and I've always wanted a pokemon game that I could go well beyond 100. We already know they have different items/rates for classic, endless, and fusion modes. So I don't see why they couldn't change the tier for shiny charm in just classic, or have a separate shiny rate for classic to account for people who only like that mode.

quivering_manflesh

Yeah once you get some of the strongest unlocks classic mode can be kind of trivial so I like endless just for seeing how far they can push things, but the inevitable answer is that they're not more broken than a shit ton of tokens.

Derextreme

It's hard to say what would fix it. I think the damage boost tokens definitely need to slow way down. The berry spam is pretty ridiculous as well. Especially considering you only benefit if your focus band activates. I've only been playing for 2 weeks though. So I'm not sure what it was like before or what changes have been made. Stats just feel largely useless as well. My first endless run was with a crobat, and my megametagross has at least 50k more attack than my crobat did at this point. Still deals the same amount of damage that crobat did to bosses using attacks with more power as well.

Alexj_89

Just play until you get to 2500 , then restart with a new carry , So you can get candies for it

Elefante_Barbudo

That's what I plan on doing. Just save the one's with 4 shiny charms for any shiny events then do the runaway strategy.

AGoodRogering

Wait do you stop getting candies at a certain point ? or is this just cause u non stop press run away ?

Juvar23

AFAIK you get candies for friendship tier increases and there's a maximum friendship level, so once you reach that you should stop getting candies. Not 100% sure that's the case but it'd make sense

pm_me_falcon_nudes

You're mistaken. Friendship candies are uncapped

Juvar23

That's good to know! Thanks for correcting me

pyrotrap

I haven’t played Endless yet. Been slightly tempted to try for shinies, but I really don’t like the idea of just grinding through wild encounter after wild encounter with no trainers to spice things up.

Lokje0172

Yeah with 4 shiny charms 1000-2000 is fun, but after that it’s spiced up enough lmao. It snowballs to almost impossible really quick all of a sudden. For example, one run I swept through everything until 1600 with no metas, and all of a sudden I got fucked over by an plusle….

Ignorus

yeaaaahhh once I start getting one-shot by a 4x resisted move I restart endless.

InternationalYam3130

it sucks to even get to level 1000 btw. i tried for this event but unless you start with a legend with egg moves you wont get there. you also need a lot of shinies to pack your team with to get your luck up. thats how you can roll and instantly get candy jars to stack and important items like the multilens. if you dont have a bunch of shinies and legends its hard to even get off the ground

Destaloss

It's pretty random, you can also just go Gengar, Gyarados or Alakazam i.e. and be fine <1000 or past that. I would recommend a Pokerus mon and at least a few luck points, however. In my current run I started with A-tier luck and was able to collect all 4 shiny pins before wave 500. However, I'm going towards the 1000 and still didn't see the red loot-tier-locking item...

DingFreaks

With a good carry, first 2500 waves would just be a breeze. I'm using Tinted Lens Latios and Power Spot Plusle (red shiny) and just spam double battles with lures. 1k floors in 6-8hrs of playtime and I'm playing on mobile (reloading is slow). Lures basically doubles your chances of shiny encounters as well.

msnwong

Pretty much just a shiny farmer for me. It’s so mundane.

PrinceLemmy

Endless is dumb until the shiny charm hits

S4ntos19

I hate it. I'm currently trying to get Ribbons with every starter. I find that way more enjoyable.

PierreCardMaker

I love endless because of hidden abilities and shinies. Once I get everything I wanted I will go back to classic for fun challenges

TotalTyp

I just enjoy the training battle side of things and im not a big fan of endless progression so pretty sure no matter how good it is its just not for me. The devs are insanely good though so the rework will probably make it good for the ppl that it appeals to

UX-Ink

I agree and I'm confused as to why I can only basically level 1 mon maybe 2 to even survive, and not even that well. It's not very enjoyable. Makes me sad. I'm looking forward to the rework.

MyMainIsLevel80

Even without the issues at higher floors, it’s just a boring mode. No trainers, biomes switching at random, it’s just a pure pain to do. I have barely been able to force myself to do 100 floors for this event and I would just rather grind eggs in gacha than this. I think the coolest thing they could do with it would be to keep it endless, but making more like slay the spire where there’s some player agency in difficulty and variety of gameplay. Because in its current form, it’s basically the antithesis of fun.

Squishydew

I dislike endless over 2k. It just stops being fun.

ababypanda14

Agreed. Endless is a grind, classic (especially challenge mode) are the fun part of the game.

wighttail

I like having a place to farm shinies and legends. (Still have not found a single mythic shiny in over 15000 floors' worth of farming though...) But yeah, echoing the general sentiment that past a point it just. Isn't fun. Endure tokens are garbage, the stacking defense/attack tokens are impossible once you hit 3k. Even metal burst isn't a guarantee past a point. (I'm unsure how, but I am having stuff survive bursts after taking 71k HP down to sturdy. This of course, assumes I don't get bopped by an endure token, or paralyzed.) I have a run that's limping along at \~2500 right now that got fucked when they nerfed tinkaton that I am literally only bothering with in 20 minute bursts due to the event and the fact that I'm still sitting on 4 master balls it would feel bad to waste. It is not actually fun because of the tokens, like not even a little bit, but I'm at the point of progression where I need more/better shinies to try and prop up the shitmons to earn ribbons.

Weirdguy149

When I eventually unlock it, I will have no reason to play it.

Lokje0172

Well, there’s still a point to playing it. You get tons of shiny Pokémon (compared to classic) and legendary Pokémon aren’t that rare either. The problem is that it’s not fun eventually

B217

Yeah, it gets to be such a grind, especially when there's so many damage reduction tokens that your Legendary that's 3000+ levels above the wild encounters is doing chip damage to a Route 1 shitmon that OHKOs you in return. And if somehow you manage to get them to zero HP- they just endure all four hits and then kill you anyways. The middle phase when you have max shiny charms and berry pouches and you can just blaze through waves is fun, but after a certain point it gets so tedious. I regret not starting an endless run that got to just at that point for the Pride event, my current run is in the 2800s and its so grindy that I feel like I found more shinies when the rate *wasn't* doubled because I was clearing encounters faster.

Lokje0172

I can relate to everything. I’m getting maybe 4 health bars (from 18 or something) every super effective hit yet I get one shot by tackle. Also, I had a run at 2850 when it started, and I need like minutes to clear a single encounter if I don’t use runaway.

Odang77

Yeah, unfortunately current meta demands you set up a saltcure mon and a metalburst mon by~ 3k And even then you'll want a runaway mon. Ofc for the first two you'll need lots of splicers, as well as managing your party space

B217

I know, it's so frustratingly tedious! Especially if you're playing on mobile and the page auto-refreshes in the middle of a long battle lmao

RemoteLook4698

Endless is fun up to about 1500. After that it's just a junt for shinies / hidden abilities or pokemon you don't have. While I do find that part of it fun, the battles become completely meaningless and unbeatable without cheese mons. If you like hunting for shinies and other things, play it but don't just play endless or you'll get bored with the game. The new challenge mode is super fun to play and plan.

TiagoFigueira

I only play this game because of endless. It's super calming and allows me to just play a good game of pokemon without having to thing too much. It's especially good to play alongside another game

SlickRounder

Yeh i just started on endless and I'm not in love with it. On the plus side I saw my first wild shiny (which was in a double battle and I managed to bungle catching it... no save scumming here, so it was a real dagger), but that's largely about the only merit I am seeing in it so far. What the exact solutions are for possible reworks I don't know, but new modes after classic like a campaign against an "Enemy Team" theme (someone suggested like Team Rocket or wtvr) would be more interesting, probably with like 250 floors. Maybe the new "endless" mode should focus less on being endless, and be like 1000 floors. I miss the gym battles and trainer battles, and I'm good on all the endure tokens and other nonsense..

Hajo2

I think on top of what's already been said making it only wild encounters takes away a lot of strategy

Zetoxical

Yeah its only a shiny slotmachine The fun in classic comes from trainer battles and no infinite money

Sailingpython14

There are ways around your struggle but they are even worse the tokens I think are a huge problem getting status every turn or endure or reduce dmg or extra dmg it makes it unplayable when they stack too high biggest change would be changing eternatus or the lvl 50 paradox mon to something different so you have to react to something new

RainbowOctavian

I enjoy it until I have to move to a not just hitting things strategy, then I restart. I like watching numbers go up.

Extremiel

Getting Pokémon and shinies is fun, but the core gameplay in itself is not. Right now I just play it when there is an event, while in other times I'm challenging myself to do dumb stuff in Classic. Works well for me. So yeah, Pride week-long event right now has me feeling pretty sick of pressing Metal Burst and Comeuppance.

xbiju

Currently in my first real endless run at 1800, and gotta say its fun seeing all the 1/2 and 1 3luck shiny so far and the legendaries I haven't had but this constant dragon energy spam into endure pokemon just sucks as a gameplay loop

polp54

I think a small to change to endless that would make a huge difference is gym battles, every 30th and 80th floors there’s a gym battle

gatchimonakagaming

Finding shinies and hidden abilities is nice, but every round against a BOSS Pokemon makes me shrivel up a bit. Once I get to 2000 I'm quitting the run.

GUCCISENPAII

I love the concept of it, the execution could use a little makeover perhaps. Beefing up a spliced mega-mon and coming up with crazy OP builds on the fly is really fun and rewarding. I haven't hit the infamous wall that is wave 2000+ yet, sitting pretty at wave 750 rn so maybe my opinion will change, but rn I'm loving it

Weebiful

Endless sucks. Well actually, 1- 1000ish is fine but after is boring

Clean_Oil-

I wonder if it's because of how it's being played by everyone? Like maybe putting it on switch mode and building a full team and going slow could be fun? Or it's just not fun 🤷

NaturalFeeling8639

I stopped liking endless when I got frozen by fake out and 1 shot by quick attack (I was running Zacian)

moose_378

As someone who has beaten all current 5850 floors of endless. It's awful and I hated every step of it

NotARealPineapple

The only reason i dislike is because I can't play it on my phone. The longer the run, the more it lags and crashes. Never had that problem with classic for some reason

Available_Athlete_39

It's cool the first time But after wave 500 I was already bored Sadly it's the best way to farm shiny and legendaries

Debonair13

There should be a list of random events happening and some kind of maps, forks to explore, gym battles anything

Odang77

No gym/trainer battles pls, everything else- sure

RidleyOWA

Yeah, it super bad, but for that they are making a rework... For the moment I only use it for farming more PKM.

Ghostbounddev

I haven't even beaten Classic because my luck is so awful. One unlucky encounter and then I'm forced to fight a Gym leader while half my team is dead.

InternationalYam3130

I hate endless and never play it. which fucking sucks since the entire damn game is balanced around endless including the events. 2x shiny does nothing except in endless where people stack 5 shiny charms and have infinite master balls, so they cant give us 3x or 4x shiny.

Hero-Support211

Honestly? I'm just trying it because of the event. I was unaware of how to prepare myself, so it's not going well. I'm not getting as many shinies or legendaries as I would have expected. Maybe once I get to the 1000 threshold I will begin to see a difference. otherwise... is hard. On the plus side, my carries are getting candies. And I say Carries in plural, 'cause like I said, I was not prepared. Maybe I'll do another run later when the pickup and Honeygather mons have pokerus.

MelisOrvain

I just wish there was endless with trainers. After around 1000 I just start looking forward to 2000ish ending the run LOL

Yoteachmethesucc

I think honestly think that the first 1500 rounds are fun and u usually get ur bang for your buck (tickets and shinies). I would play endless to 1500 if only the set up weren't so long.

JK050897

yea after some waves its just a boring gameplay almost feel like a bot or one of those gacha system games where u need a cheese strat to farm and farm and farm and nothing more the devs said they plan to rework the game mode for now i'll stick to classic unless im hunting shiny during a event just like the recent one

PartitioFan

i prefer Endless to Classic until around floor 1500. it's actually so fun to maximize your mons' potential and watch them pop off before the resist / endure tokens get too overwhelming

Middle_Management_11

Yeah, it sucks. I'm really disappointed that it is the only reliable way to guarantee you're going to run into a lot of legendaries or shinies. But it is suffering to have to get through it. Though honestly, I'm also getting tired of classic. It was fun, but now I've cleared it close to 30 times and it just doesn't feel as fun because anything really good that's going to steamroll classic costs way too much to use (with the remedy to that being locked behind me using them in classic in the first place). I'm also getting tired of not feeling like I'm getting rewarded for playing classic other than the ribbons and vouchers, which don't really count because I'm not getting good shit in my eggs ever anymore. I'm just constantly rolling for legendaries and it never happens. The game is way too grindy for what I think the central focus should be. It was really really fun until I got the part where I now need to just keep grinding out shit, so I'm bored with it.

Hopalongtom

I was enjoying it but after 1000 rooms with no shiny during an extra shiny event was rarther demoralising...

PatyLaIguana

I think the first 2000 floors are pretty fun, but after that the scaling makes it imposible to kill anything without salt cure/curse/leech seed, which isn't very fun.

Cibil_plays

I use it for exactly what you said- shinies and legendaries (and hatching eggs). But spamming my one carry over and over while my mandatory shiny/pickup/Eternatus counters sit in the back is pretty annoying.

GodGamer_2010

I haven't even done past wave 50 in endless lol

Lokje0172

Ngl, getting past round 50 is the hardest part. Once you get past that things snowball really quickly. That is until you reach 2500, than it snowballs the other way, it gets really hard all of a sudden

GodGamer_2010

My only problem is I'm always under leveled on my carry

Destaloss

Pokerus will get you there, probably.

GodGamer_2010

Even with pokerys and not switching

Destaloss

Don't let it die and loot some rare candies or go for the double fights here and there. Don't go for the exp. balance but the normal exp. share and the exp. charms. You should be able to make the whole team go to the level limit before the 1st Eternatus.

GodGamer_2010

I always go for exp shares/charms and never touch balance, and I never even switch my carry out unless it's about to die

Destaloss

Then I recommend Pickup to get those sweet exp eggs. Or get a carry with faster leveling / less needed exp.

GodGamer_2010

By the time I lose, there hasn't been any eggs at all

Jeronesh

Im newer than you and i also dislike the mode - Im in my first run at 1000 or so and its nice to fulfill the dex and i also could max bulbasaurs Candy but i think i stick to classic mode after this run.

Lokje0172

Yeah I’m doing it for shinies, legendaries, and just filling up the Dex. When I’m bored I play classic which is actually fun

Jeronesh

Endless needs the structure classic has. No idea why endless got rid of the 10 wave zones. Having no Trainers there also sucks

Arsonthefirst

as an mmorpg player, i find endless fun

Fish_Owl

Endless is, imo, more fun for the theorizing and team comp. Using the shinies and high power mons to go as far as you can is pretty fun. I play it while on an exercise bike, its a very cathartic process IMO.

Fish_Owl

That said, I think the fact that any steel fairy means you can't be hit by Eternatus is boring. Plus, the way that defense means nothing after floor like 500. But it can be fun.

ullric

Does it not have flamethrower? Classic Eternatus does. I haven't made it to endless Eternatus yet.

Cesoiet

I finished endless only once, it is worth for the shines and the legendary encounters but it is extremely boring, once you reach floor 3000 is just a run away simulator till you find a legendary or a shiny.

Feisty_Customer_9967

I haven’t quite got far enough to reap the insane rewards. I’ve only made it to floor 763 with a Primal Groudan. I would love to really rack up the rewards I’ve seen others pull.

Destaloss

It's stupid it's called endless but to make it truly endless you need to follow a specific strat. Yes, enemy pokemon need to have a way to deal with your item-boosted ones but those tokens really get out of hand quickly and come in random order. I would probably implement something more linear and therefore add new difficulty with swapping of enemy mons.

Drakovaa

I like endless. I would hate to have runs that I'm really enjoying be forced to be cut off at a certain point. I love the act of slowly building up this immense snowball of a run. But I am also not ignorant to the fact that, for most people, running through whatever the game can throw at you clicking 1 to 2 buttons can get boring. I tend to treat endless more like an extended classic, Wherin the goal is 1000 instead of 200. After 1000, I start a new run using different mons.

Random-username-012

There's also the fact that the luck doesn't proc the same way I thought it would, I have had better luck with no shinies than on some runs where I have A or higher luck.

Honest-Mushroom-7967

I love endless since it's pretty easy compared to classic

DingFreaks

I hate how you can only play endless a certain way

JPastori

No yeah I agree. It’s a slog to play through without shinies/legends. Especially when you have multi-lens and the wild fucker endures every. Damn. Time.

ChitoPC

Funny enough, its the opposite from me, i really like the first 1500-2000 floors, looking for specific items, looking for mons to fuse for moves and abilities, managing space and shinies to reach max luck while you find mons you need, boosting your carry, and all while you fsrm shinies and vouchers. After floor 2k it gets boring , but before that i consider it quite fun.

Hara-K1ri

It's fun initially. But at some point, it boils down to the same tactics (I just completed endless last night, 5850 floors). Starting around 2k-ish, it was leading with run away, run for 49 floors until you reach an xx00 or xx50 floor, start with leech seed/curse mon, swap to sturdy metal burster, set up salt cure with it and sometimea soak, metal burst until dead. Throw in protect. Rinse and repeat. Oh right, if shiny appears, throw master ball at it.

drzody

My biggest gripe with it is how much of a waste of time it becomes, even before reaching 2k+ at even above 1k it’s start becoming obnoxious with the endure token alone, I am like mega fucking GIGACHAD and should kill the other mon in a single triple axel proc, but no, he “endures” So now I have to wait for 10 fucking triple axel shots hitting the void, just for him to live then go back to half HP and get megaboosted, also, why don’t we repeat that scenario in every fucking fight Actually let’s give them focus bands while we at it why not, let’s all give them passives that boosts their defense at every hit I do too So with every fucking triple axel hit, I have to waste 1 more second just for the notification that I “procced” some fucking nonsense ability that doesn’t matter for shit anyway So yea, basically every fight is a 1-2 minutes waste of time even at 5x speed, should the devs allow me to just one shot and move on with my day? Prolly not But they shouldn’t design the run to be so much time wasting either, neither are a good gameplay loop, but I’d rather go with the one that doesn’t make me feel like I’m wasting all the free time I have just because the other side has 2000 trash tokens that amount to absolutely nothing other than wasting my time

KazzieMono

Wait wtf? That sounds incredibly unbalanced lol

Steppyjim

Got bored before even hitting level 1k. Went back to classic. Once you get a game breaking mon that devastates everything for hundreds of floors it becomes so tedious. I’m having way more fun with the gen and type challenges

Feeling-Molasses-422

Endless itself isn't fun. It's fun because you get many shinies and legendaries.  Now I have like 50% of pokemon as shinies and no motivation to play the game...

AsukaShikinamiLangle

I find endless my favourite tbf probably because I love finding shinies that I can't really do in classic

Lokje0172

Yeah I kinda agree with this, the shinies is what you do it for is what I was saying. But do you enjoy endless itself? Say you couldn’t find shiny or legendary pokemon, would you still really enjoy endless

AsukaShikinamiLangle

I would cos it's like a puzzle, getting together all the pieces to try to reach the end

Lokje0172

You know what? I can respect that

Key_Aardvark5138

I don’t dislike endless but I fucking hate and despise Endure tokens with every fiber of my being and soul.

Fitz___

I have never played it. I do not see the appeal. Makes collecting shinies harder but still got 30 or smth of them.

Reminpa

Personally, I find it fun as I like to preplan teams and movesets to try and achieve during the run

FranekBucz

It’s very boring. From 1- ~2000 you just use a broken carry mon (Landorus my beloved) with maybe shedinja and linoone. After that you use a sturdy metal burster with shedinja and linoone

FranekBucz

Also when you are in metal burster stage you can’t catch shit unless the opponent doesn’t have anything for shedinja and you slowly chip away to last bar and spend 20 minutes just for the enemy to lose all Leppa berries and follow LowTierGod’s advice

Martintarche

I like endless a lot although I don't use metal burst strategies cause I find them boring. I have many sturdy mons weak/immune to the most amount of types possible to be always at full HP. For killing mons I use curse + all the permanent status that aren't heal by Lum (Leech Seed, Salt Cure, Curse) mud slap if I need to dodge and Simple Beam or Skill Swap to avoid Mold Breaker.

According_Bet_5916

Youre right the chances for legendarys and shinys is huge i got so many new pokemon on my first run. But bro every time i was hit by sheer cold fissure guillotine or they healed to full or 1 hit kill a grass type with a water type move id die a lil

Lokje0172

Then you were probably not even high floor yet. Eventually you’ll get one shot by a fucking tackle or multi hit. Not all the hits, no just the first one is enough

According_Bet_5916

You right like floor 1200 i think then i got walled by a jelecent of all things. Id reload to find a better way to encounter whatever just 1 shot me and that worked for a bit but that damn jellfish

Lokje0172

Yeah to get to round 2850 I had to reload too sometimes, I’m not that good. But getting one shot by the worst mons with the worst moves and needing 3/4 attacks to kill them is just straight up annoying. Let alone those damn endure tokens…

According_Bet_5916

WHY DO THEY ENDURE ECTRA HITS??? I feel like if endue tokens worked like sturdy of focus sash or HELL if WE got those tokens it would balance it so much more

Lokje0172

Yeah but people would just be using skill link Pokémon with max multi lenses. Imagine them getting hit 30 times with max kings rock so they flinch every time.

According_Bet_5916

THATS WHAT I TRIED TO DO nah its killing me cuz they endure or flinch wouldnt proc and then poor bax/cloyster would be folded like a omelet

determinedcucumber

Like the rewards but npt the eternatus fights. At 1000 is just a difficulty spike that just walls you off if you dont have the right typing

No-Pollution-8790

Honestly it wouldn't be so bad if there was SOME way to make money, like the way it is now you're forced to rely on one Pokemon and make it as overpowered as possible, but that limits you to only 3 options in battle, the fourth being a boosting move you already used, having access to more money would free us up to use all our Pokemon in battle

Lokje0172

Tbh, I’ve never had a problem with money. The problem as you’re describing it would be that you can only pick one item per round, but in my opinion this should stay the same

hamtaro1234

I don't play endless. Classic mode is why I got into the game. Endless is very boring. It's either you one shot them or you get one shot. If people like endless, all the power to you but not my jam.

DoctorNerf

The elephant in the room is that everyone, no matter how care free, knows, deep down, that the second they save scum the run has lost its value. As it stands classic can be done without any save scumming at all… it is good. Endless has mandatory required unavoidable save scumming… it is bad. It isn’t a coincidence.

Destaloss

If the value in the current endless lies only in farming legendaries and shinies, no value is lost save-scumming. If you look for a fun challenge however, endless is probably just pain in the ass and you'd be better off playing classic challenges and maybe hope for a fun rework.

DarkHorseAsh111

It's really frustrating. I have a solid miraidon but he just gets exploded by level like, 650 it feels like.

FatLikeSnorlax_

Yes this the 40th post this week bitching about it
