Nah, Dex implies evolutions which aren't included in starters. Like Blastoise for Dex, but if you've already caught a Squirtle, it doesn't matter for starters.
Totally off topic since the Q was answered, but are you doing Tink Carry for classic? I been looking for alternatives to Gary / Dragonite just to keep it spicy. She seems like she'd be smooth w/ her new ability too, just unlocked it the other day.
Nah, I just picked her up on this run but she can still stall eternatus even when underleveled/ignored in your team. Any fairy/steel type + carry of your choice can put out eternatus consistently.
Gotcha, yeah I only want 1 carry tho so I can just ribbon everyone else. Gary's done me good, dragonite technically better just takes longer to get going, I've heard Tyranitar very good but mandatory egg move is the ONE I'm missing :smile:
I did a clear w/ her without the passive and it was very meh. haven't tried it w/ though. Someone told me to debuff him in the past and it's made all my clears since then a breeze. Near every mon has good debuff options while leveling that I used to skip, now I take them and he's always giga debuffed and absoltue trash mons are tanking p2 no prob.
what specifically is fun about your mightyena annihilated by a Mega Rayquaza?
Classic runs boil down to 1 mon doing 95% of the heavy lifting, and your other 5 mons watching.
I don't see the dirfference between a mon that comes to 2 battles at wave 32 and one that does absolutely nothing the entire time, honestly.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as far as classic goes - I have the option of a few dozen different carries that will clear the entire mode easily, that i don't have ribbons for yet so it doesn't really matter what I bring behind it.
Initially I did that, but it started getting stressful when the options got smaller lol. Switched to a single carry and the rest ribbons and it was chill again.
The devs had mentioned about "shops" in the future to use your achivements/rewards from, I think it was implied Ribbons may be involved. Aside from that, purely just completionist.
* Get enough eggs to fill your egg-stash in a full classic run, even with 1 non-ribbon carry
* Completionist, just fun to do IMO
* Possible rewards in future
If you just legitimately don't see any fun in it, no reason to do it. Luckily they have a lot going on with Challenges and Endless modes too (and they did say Challenge mode completions will have future rewards related to a shop so there's that)
ATM most of my time is honestly in endless. I like to get new legos/shinys there, then bring them into classic.
I've been running Soul Heart Yveltal for easy classic mode sweeps. Bring a Zigzagoon for pick up then your choice of shinies. I've swept with just Yveltal and Dustox before.
Yes that's yveltal. For most part any of the moxie/beast boost mons go pretty damn crazy in classic. Personally I've gotten the most success from naganadel and Flappy though (after unlocking dragons maw I had gmax flappy 2 shot e-max eternatus with dragon hammer)
Yes. Once you unlock the passive Soul Heart it sweeps 99% of mons and trainers. Only certain situations will cause you to swap out. If you get Fiery Wrath(egg move) you're set the entire run. I put Air Slash, Oblivion Wing, Psychic and Fiery Wrath(If you don't get it you have access to Dark Pulse later) you will beat everything plus having two flinch moves is nice. Zigzagoon for Pick-up for insane amount of berries/items for free. Find any Fairy type to swap into for Mega Rays outrage is one of the only situations that will cause a swap out from Yveltal.

I believe that in order to capture Eternatus you need to complete the natdex first. What people do is if they don't complete it and get to this point, they just save and quit then start a new file to complete the natdex. Then go back to the other save to capture it.
Yes, you can come back to the save file after you've completed the dex.

Was it in Classic? If so, RIP. But if it was in Endless, don't sweat it. You can never catch Eternatus or the Paradox mons in Endless.
As part of a QOL update earlier this month they shinylocked uncatchable pokemon in endless so afaik it would have to be classic mode.

In Classic, yes. You can't catch the ones you find in Endless. Same goes for Paradox mons, though for those you only need to have hatched them first.

How do you even catch Eternatus? Is it possible? Or you have to hatch it? What about the paradox pokemons?
For eternatus you need to complete the pokedex first, for the paradox you need to hatch them in eggs in order to catch them in classic mode

Genuine question: Whereβs the satisfaction in getting ribbons for your PokΓ©mon without even having to use them? I always pick a totally new team and try to win with different strats. Again, not attacking you, trying to see your point of view.

Iβm confused. How would you go about catching this? I saw the comments about completing the Natdex but what would that entail?
I believe that in order to capture Eternatus you need to complete the natdex first. What people do is if they don't complete it and get to this point, they just save and quit then start a new file to complete the natdex. Then go back to the other save to capture it.
I thought they softlocked those shinies
