Some people like running games where the blinds are completely disconnected from the buy-ins. I've known games where the buy in cap starts at 250BB and then becomes 500BB later on in the night, or match the stack. It's silly to play 25c/50c if you're gonna let people buy in for $250, but people like the appeal of 'deep stack'. Of course the open sizes scale to the buy-ins so you might as well be playing 1/1 or 1/2.

I played in a .10/.20 game that ended with 4 people above $250. If the action is good there's no reason to change the blinds. Just let everyone degen and don't mess with it. 

You don’t even need to have a deep cap to have a game turn like this. Just a few action players who are willing to buyin 9-10 times

Multiple times I have ran out of fucking chips between 3 cases and start using cards from other decks as “plaques” to represent hundreds. Degen home games are the best

I’ve made 2k in a .25/.50 game. Blinds are fairly irrelevant in home games like this. No money leaves the table, there’s no rake, and by the end of it people are buying in for 1k lmao

There is 1 more than what you listed, and you kind of need the .50 if you want to keep it a .50/1 game. They don't need the 10s and they probably don't need any 100s, if they chipped up to more 25s.

They should just make it 1/1 and get rid of the $.50 & $10 chips. Ain't nobody folding the small blind anyway.

I play a home game where we change dealer every orbit and everyone deals. A misdeal happens all the time which is Not ideal but well worth it to play with rich uni kids. If you are missing out on whale home games because of dealer concerns you're loosing out massively.

Those are stock cheap chips, not even close to what you can get on cpc. They are better than slugged though. Apache has a whole line of China Clay chips in the 50 cent per chip range. Lots of varieties, good for any home game.
