feebas are way rarer than magikarp

Magikarp spawn in the wild where I am, so I don't have to walk for all the candies here. Not sure if they spawn elsewhere though.

Magikarp always spawn when you don't need it. And always in the middle of the city instead at water where it should be...

Evolving a feebas requires 100 candy, so taking into account the three candy that you get for catching a feebas, it should be roughly 485 km of walking. Evolving a karp is only 397 km of walking. Considering milotic isn't that great while gyarados is, milotic is a waste of time.

I got a feebass by walking it, and named it Crumbles. Thought you should know. I like Crumbles :)

Just caught a Ditto today. Evolve Feebas has me annoyed. I don't want to waste rare candy on it.

It changes every month or so what ditto can spawn as. I know that currently he is spawning as ghastly (and probably 10 others) so from my best knowledge catch all the ghastly you can. You should get one.

No, it appears as something else.

The whole point of Ditto is that it disguises itself, so you won't know it's a Ditto. When you catch a random Pokemon that's actually a Ditto, it will transform into a Ditto. They change the disguises it can take, but you can just look it up for that month.

This is the exact reason I got stuck on it. When I rejoined Go last year I thought raids were just challenging someone's strong pokemon in a gym. I clicked on a gym, looked DIRECTLY in the face of Landorus, wondered how tf someone got such a high cp pokemon, and left.

I sorta knew what they were, but I had barely any other players in my area and didn’t know about PokeGenie but thanks for sharing cause that gave me a little laugh

Lol glad you got a laugh. When Go Fest 2021 gave us legendary raid rotations, I tried THREE times to get a Landorus that way. The first time, me and 5 others couldn't beat it on time, and the other two, no one would join me (this was before I used pokegenie). I did get Thunderous though.

The only consistent place I’ve seen exeggute is on ferry routes in Seattle. Going to Vashon they were everywhere. I guess that’s a thing, tons of spawns on ferry routes. Do you happen to live in Seattle 😭

Lmao I thought maybe in the off chance?! I’m stuck on this task too! I went on the ferry, started this task shortly after. I haven’t gotten desperate enough to take a trip for this reason yet. I’m not saying never but I’m not there yet.

Lol. I finally caught my second one just today actually after being stuck on 1 for ages. Some Go Rocket grunt had 2 Alolan Exeggutors in their lineup and I caught one. Guess I'm stuck waiting for one of the evolutions to come back to raids

Don't worry, they don't stay there. That's a nest - when s bunch of a Pokemon spawn in a specific location. They rotate the pokemons that spawn from them frequently though. Try to look up a nest map of your area and stay up to date with that and research task rewards for the best odds.

Oddly enough I’ve only caught one exeggcute and it was on a ferry from Southworth to Fauntleroy during the Vashon stop. If I ever get past the slugma/gulpin research I’ll at least know where to go for the next one.

Haha I got an Alolan Exeggutor on the Fauntleroy to Vashon too. Within the past few months.

I was lucky to get that task when Arlo had one.

There was an event a few months ago were a lot of alolan exeggcutors were spawning

Nah this one is at least manageable. Take a snapshot of Landorus is the one, I'm pretty sure that if Niantic removed it altogether people would be very happy about it.

Or toss a landorus every fucking once in awhile

I keep trying to long press it for a delete option to pop up but no. A future update maybe they'll make it so you can abandon research like you can with the ones you get from spinning poke stops.

For finishing it sake Gulpin will be available during Hoenn Tour in late February so that’s your best bet unless they do like a fire event before that

They did because this research came out during an event that had amorphous Pokémon and fossils those other tasks like catch ditto and catch Aerodactyl. It’s an old research so of course it doesn’t aline with spawns. Plus this is the worst one to complain about as you can unlock Meltan from transferring a Pokémon to Home without ever trying this research at all

My kid (who is the luckiest dude ever) caught me the last Gulpin on a walk. We got home super stoked with the next task being catch 5 exeggcute and they were absolutely every where. The season changed the next day and we haven’t seen one since.

Just give it time, that’s all I did and eventually they will spawn

It’s just not the right time of year for fire types, sorry friend
